Contest Triathlon: Up to Eleven - Winners Announced!

Ah yes, they do have greeting cards! :-D And I have a series of card templates in different colors, I suppose I can use those right?

Would it be okay to burrow some flowers from my friend's/relatives's gardens? Those would be free right?

 

I'm almost done with my entry! The hardest part is that I am now at my parents' house, and the kitten is determined to steal my needles!

My aunt's a florist and she uses thread to tie together bundles of decorative twigs I think you will be fine

 

[MENTION=65955]Chamillia[/MENTION] If you're using the thread to sew with, then yes. I think you can't use it as an embellishment, unless it was part of the wig you are using for inspiration.

As for printing out cards to use. . . I don't know. I didn't get an answer to whether or not I could use the cards I had hanging around (since the post office does sell them). . .I couldn't get my idea to work at all so the answer doesn't really matter now. I baked a cherry pie instead.

 

My outfit is done, and pictures are taken... but I'm busy tonight and I left the cord to transfer pictures from my phone to my computer in the car. Will have to upload them tomorrow evening.

I finished! There were moments I didn't think I would/could. My materials rebelled on me and my original plan was literally impossible to do and have it not look like a mess. I seriously considered dropping out, then thought of a modification to my idea that worked out. So I'm done! The final result is not what I wanted or envisioned in many different ways but... It's a complete outfit. I completed the Triathlon for my second year in a row.

Tomorrow I'll take my pics and submit and that's it!

 

My entry is submitted! Can't wait to see everyone's entries! Edit: I almost forgot to resize one of my pictures to be the right size! Fortunately photobucket has a resize the original image feature! Did it work properly?

 

I got mine in earlier today. I really had to go minimal on it, but it's better to turn in something than nothing, right?

 

I had actually planned to do more with mine, but when I got it all put together I realized I liked it the way it was. As a result I was done long before I thought I would be!

 

I had a big, elaborate image in my mind of what I could do, but then when I finally had the time to sit my butt down and work on it today, I had to realistically look at my homework load, look at my work schedule over the weekend, and just scrap everything for something I could manage in less than one day. I marked on the form that I was interested in the prize, but realistically I'm finishing for the fun of it at this point. To say I did it.

For those of you not dissecting MSDS forms for chemistry class finished yet, go go go!

 

Looks like I am withdrawing from the last part of the competition. School started, and then my outfit literally fell apart as I was working on it. At this point I can't salvage anything. Oh well, I had so much fun competing! Good luck to everyone still in this!

 

Ooooff! I limped across the finish line this year. I am pleased I was able to complete the final challenge because there were many moments where I didn't think I had it in me. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and formed a closer bond to their doll! For everyone out there still putting on the finishing touches, keep going! You're almost there! It's feel so good to finally press that submit button! Congratulations everyone!

 

I only have one cherry tree, so it was a very small pie. The pie was more successful than my attempt at an outfit was, though. I'm sure my fashion victim will be glad to be liberated, free from the permanent embarrassment of photos.

 

YES! I was thinking of using thread for embroidery, and I guess that means yes!

As for the cards, I don't plan on printing anything on them. I'm using them just for structure, so they won't show in the end. Since the mods are too busy to answer anything at the moment, I'll just assume its okay since they usually sell cards at florists, albeit mine are blank and came as a set for the savvy crafter to decorate themselves, you know? I really hope its okay >_<

I got my entry submitted. I kind of want to roll on the floor and weep. This was hard, this was awesome. I can't believe how hard I pushed myself and I'm really proud of the work I did. Also, I can't wait to share all my photos after all this is done. I'd start taking entry photos and get distracted. Some how I've ended up in some crazy situations for all this and it was totally worth it.

I did it!!! I finally finished my outfit!!!! I wanted to give up a few times but I hung in there and I'm happy with what I have. Going to take the pictures tomorrow when I have better light as it's dark out now.

 

I have to say, this whole ordeal has really pushed my crafting abilities! I'm really glad I finished, and I can't wait to start working on my next set of projects! I wish there were more triathlons through out the year (just for fun)!!

 

I've spent all of yesterday working endlessly on my outfit, and I'd say I am about %50 done @_@ Theres only one more day left for me, and I will make it, but I'm so tired of thinking and planning as I go along and trying to think of alternatives and such. I'm so ready for this to be over xD Although my outfit is looking great, which is whats keeping me going!!

 

Gotta take my pictures after work but I finally finished super early this morning! I was starting to think I wouldn't finish

After what seemed like forever, my outfit was completed on time.
Yesterday, I managed to:
1) Finalise dress form
2) Decorate dress
3) Get first-degree burns from the glue gun
4) Finish last tweaks with one hand, other dipped in cold ice water
5) Put outfit on doll
6) Fight and wrestle said doll to stand straight for photo (sailor-cursing included)
7) Edit photos at 1:00 AM
8) Upload, done!!
9) Zzzzzz.... oh wait I didn't do my college homework.
10) Wake up again.

Aaaaand so on and so forth, thats how my last night of the triathlon was spent All from the moment I came back from uni (12:00 PM) until I went to bed at like 2:00 AM, working through the entire day. Although I totally regret not studying for my quiz or doing my work on time, I am tremendously proud and ecstatic with the work of art I produced, heck, the amazing things I created throughout all three challenges. I really enjoyed this as stressful as it was, it was part of all the fun

I love the triathalon, and getting to spend hours looking at every detail of the entries through every single phase of the contest is like heaven on earth for me. It's so inspiring! Oh my gosh, the outfits! This time around there was not a single one that made me think "meh." The biggest problem is trying to narrow it down to 3. (I'm currently at 7). Yikes. You guys don't make it easy, do you???

I didn't do so well in the second round but I'm hoping I blast through this final one Congratulations to everyone who managed to complete all rounds, we all deserve to celebrate and relax now B)

As for now I think the anniversary hype has died down considerably and we need to let people know that there's still one more voting round left I feel the second round of voting overall had way smaller numbers than the first lol So spread the word, everyone!
