Transgender/intergender dolls?

Jan 7, 2014

1. I don't technically own him yet, but I'm in the process of ordering a doll for my intersex genderfluid character. It's been a challenge finding the right body type (which is, structurally, a very thin male) to fit the right head (which is female).

2. Only one of my dolls is cisgender (male) the others are Agender and I have one transgender boy.

3. I am planning to crossdress my boy in the future (evil smile), it is just like how anime chrarcters do~~ Dressing a girl as tomboy is also very cute too~~ But I don't think I will make them "transgender"? I guess? I am not too sure but I definitely don't mind manly girls or girly boys xD:lol:

4. My girl Albatross is mtf. She lives in a fantasy world though, and her culture looks at gender in a much more fluid way than, say, the West. So she isn't quite transgender in the Western sense, if that makes sense. It has a different context in her culture, and there's a lot less stigma involved. Personally, I get really frustrated that so many fantasy stories come up with elaborate worlds and cultures but can't seem to step out of "queer is bad in gender or sexuality! and women and poc are bad too!" you know? I read fantasy books for escapism, so it annoys me that me and my friends are persecuted in these make believe worlds just the same as our world. Like, come on! XD So that was my goal with Albatross. I'm cis for clarification (queer in other ways lol), but I haven't written many trans or genderqueer characters before and I figured "that's my cisness talkin!" so I would give it a shot. She's the queen of a troupe of rouges and goes on epic adventures. This thread has been really nice and eye-opening :)

5. My Mika is bigender. Zie's female-bodied and presents mostly masculine -- hir feminine side is also pretty much a tomboy, if that makes sense (though zie binds hir breasts when zie's feeling mostly male and doesn't when zie's feeling mostly female). Mika is mostly seen by hir friends as 'one of the guys', though that might start to cause some confusion now that zie's pregnant.
Here's Mika feeling mostly female:

6. My Miyu is nonbinary :3c They wear cutesy clothes that would be considered "girly", but they have a male body.

7. Although I don't have any transgender/intergender/etc dolls, I've been thinking about maybe shelling an agender character. c: I like breaking gender stereotypes heh heh heh~ *evil grin*
Although this would really mean a more masculine looking girl sculpt or a more feminine boy sculpt who wears male and/or female clothes as far as purchasing goes. xD

8. Never considered it, but I'm completely open to the option. If I saw an affordable doll with parts from both genders that I liked, I'd definitely consider getting it. I'm not interested in the genderless ones. I'd rather have both gender than no gender at all.

9. *raises hand*

My soon-to-be beloved Paprika is intended to be trans (MtF) as is the character she represents. Took a great deal of time to settle on a sculpt that suited both her personality and post-transition life. Turns out a Feeple65 Chloe did the trick; highly feminine with a subtle androgynous undertone to back her history. :3

10. Issac my dc kid/ seorin. Is trans male .He has the female kid body. but I make sure he looks more male yet still in the fragile stage. I decided to make him this way because I have two friends who are transgender, one I knew before the change and one I met after they took a new identity. The journey with each of them has been really impactful on me and I want to enshrine some of that into my collection. You'd never know the doll was female unless you took off its pants or had a keen eye for doll chateau. In this way my doll Isaac is truly trans. I refer to him in his correct pronouns and always refer to him as a boy. Because he IS a boy despite not having the correct parts.

Everyone can do what they like with their dolls. However, just dressing a boy as a girl or vice versa isn't always trans. Since trans is a way of being and not so much an outward appearance thing. Trans people are the gender they say they are and nothing else. It's not the same as cross dressing, drag, and crossplay. (Although some trans people also participate in these) I think sometimes in the doll community these terms are overlapped and used to all mean the same thing, and that isn't necessarily respectful to actual trans people. You probably wouldn't know a doll is trans just by looking at it. Just as one often can't tell with real people. Honestly the only way you'd usually know a doll was trans is if the owner gave out the information like ChristinasDream did.

I think many discussions of this nature are actually referring to things that are not trans. Such as cross dress. I think it's wonderful to talk about these things and make dolls who like that. But it's good to know exactly what you are talking about and to use the correct terms. That way we as a community are not perpetuating misinformation.

11. Unfortunately most people don't really 'get' trans issues. The situation is getting better these days, but we still have long way to go before more people understand it better, it seems. :(

12. Well, my first doll has a boy body, but it actually doesn't have sculpted genitalia, so technically... yes? What's interesting is that I'm "upgrading" him to strung resin and the sculpt I thought suited him best ended up being a girl body. I'm planning to modify the torso and remove the breasts to make it more masculine, but I don't plan on sculpting the genitalia down there, so he'll be in the same situation as his last body, haha! My doll (his character) isn't meant to be transgendered, but I thought it was interesting that both of his bodies ended up that way. :sweat

13. My little Soom Yarn (Nadir) is completely gender-less as they are a character in my story who is an other-worldly entity. They don't reproduce per se, they just respawn after death.

I'm also planning a doll with a male lower half and a female upper half to kind of represent myself...

14. My migidoll Jina is gender-neutral but they use male pronouns. They are a very androgynous character, so I get to dress them in "girl" clothes or "boy" clothes depending on their "mood" ;) I also have an OC named Mika who is FTM trans and I'm working on another unnamed OC who is biologically a male, is gender-fluid, and identifies as a female. That character is hard to describe, but it makes sense to me and to them

I myself am gender-fluid but primarily identify as a girl so I like my characters' backstories and gender identities to be just as complex as my own :)

15. My April Story Edward is a male sculpt, but he seems so much happier when he's mixing gendered clothes and trying on different wigs. When my sister asked about his gender, I just said "he doesn't really think of himself as a boy, but he's not a girl, either." I wouldn't call him gender fluid. Agender, maybe? Either way, he's just Ed, and he's happy that way. :)

16. I had a plan to get my transgender girl in doll form named Shelby (She goes by Shellie). She's a character of mine that I designed a long time ago.
She hasn't had any surgery or taken hormones in that picture there yet. The sad thing is the only doll i found that looked close to her was a Soom Super Gem girl and, well...they're rather busty. She's supposed to have a flat to small chest xD
I suppose I could try swapping things out in the future like some have suggested but I might just keep her busty and see how I like it. After all, if I do change her body in any way I'll have to scrap all the clothes i've recently bought her. Shellie should have no bottom surgery and small breasts from hormones I just feel like a boy bottom half wouldn't have quite the curves she's supposed to have and finding the right top to match her head would be even more difficult. I'm still fairly new to the hobby so I guess it's something I can think about over time. I may even consider working it into her story that she wanted larger breasts ahaha.
I'm excited to get her in (I ordered the doll for her off the market place) and to start working out her character in doll form. Maybe I'll eventually do modifications once I'm certain she's the doll for the job, so to speak. I'd hate to do any risky mods and then end up wanting to sell her in the future.
Once I get her in I might try to come back here and post some pictures up as well.
Sorry for my rambling...trying to become a little more active and social and it's hard for me xD;;

17. I am fascinated by the idea of a trans doll, and it's something I'd like to own if a concept or doll ended up working well within my collection, but as it is so far I have no outright trans dolls or plans for such. In particular, I think I'd want a trans doll without any 'surgery' done to it. I don't see or hear of too many trans dolls out there, but when I do, it seems most often they have post-surgery bodies, either by buying them that way or modding them that way. I know many trans people get or want surgery, and it is often 'the goal' many aim for. However, I also know many people don't for various reasons, and not only because they can't afford it, and that aspect of it kind of interests me more, at least in terms of dolls. I think I feel this way because to me, if I owned a trans doll it would feel weird to have the doll just be called trans but still in outward appearance look and dress like a cis person, since dolls to me are an ultimately visual/tactile experience. I think I also like the idea that trans people who can't or don't want to go through lots of expensive, invasive surgery can still be perfectly happy and comfortable living as their own gender in the body they were born, despite their hardships, or that even if they do wish for surgery in order to finally feel the best about themselves, that that lengthy time spent in their pre-op bodies can still be worthwhile in the meanwhile. Something like that.

Lastly, when framing it as a visual concept, it's more interesting and unique to me to consider how a trans character would choose to portray themselves to others through their dress, hair, etc. while working around their physical bodies and how the society around them would receive them. Do they want to mask their physical sex as much as possible, hide themselves, or try to be as masculine/feminine as possible, dress neutrally instead, or just dress in a way that they think is quite flattering and stylish to their own tastes? Are they very self-conscious about their bodies or do they hardly even give it a second thought, they have so much more important things on their mind? Do they have very supportive peers around them, or an oppressive environment, or are they the type of person where they would never let that matter enough to change the way they look and act?

I've created at least two characters who turned out trans for different story ideas, and the two couldn't have turned out more different in how they think of themselves and their peers, and thus how they choose to dress and act. I think they'd make really interesting doll projects, if I wasn't so focused on keeping a very small collection right now. An MTF is very ladylike and has super-feminine hobbies, but she's overall shy, self-conscious, and easily depressed, so she dresses very conservatively, with big dresses and long sleeves, to hide the 'unfeminine' parts of her body that she thinks are horrible. An FTM is dapper, a bit androgynous yet somehow mildly sexist, and puts himself so high on his own superiority pedestal that his sex is an oft-forgotten footnote; the result is a metrosexual fashion sense with an overall appearance that still manages a naturally masculine aura made by attitude, stance, and expression more than choice of clothes.

As for intergender or other variations, I don't even know if this counts, but I do have plans for two dolls in the near future that will likely be sexless. I say it may not count because these dolls wouldn't be human, or even technically living (or undead). My concept for my dolls was that they were set in a fantasy world where dolls themselves were actually animated to life and create their own culture and society. Being dolls, they have incredibly weak ties to notions like sex and gender and other biological-based issues; it is a much more superficial issue to them than to humans. However, they are just as mentally and emotionally complex as humans! In a way, dolls in this world that are deeply wedded to a male or female sex/gender identity may be rarer than intergender dolls. Aside from the two tinies who will have no sex or gender, I have two planned minis who are also rather androgynous; I'm not sure if they'd consider themselves outright intergender or borderline, but in any case, they have very weak ties to any gender identity. They refer to themselves as the sex that their doll bodies are sculpted as, despite preferring to crossdress, so whether they count as intergender or not, I couldn't say, haha. I love playing with this fantasy concept, as it's interesting to consider a society of people divorced from many of our human biological needs and biases, but still effected culturally by our values and perceptions regardless!

18. I dunno, as a transgender myself I really hate seeing transgender dolls.
I know very well the suffering and depression we go through... And I wonder why the hell a poor doll needs it in her life.

19. The MSD I have coming in April is going to be a Genderfluid character. Angel/Lunniea is the avatar of an ancient Moon god who is half celestial half demon in heritage. When planning the character I took into account that in all historic depictions of Angels they are suposed to have no gender but most appear in art as women. So as a god my character had no gender but was referred to by male pronouns. The version of the character I bought my doll for is cursed into a human body but still retains their genderless traits. However they were labeled as male legaly dispite a fondness for womens clothing. Angel's blog page can be found here.

The doll I bought is a ResinSoul An boy. I went the boy route cause I didn't want a doll with breasts and the face was androgynous enough. Dressing them is gonna be a bit tough cause I wanna put them in modified Victorian/Edwardian garb so when making their clothes I might have to omit breast darts and the like. I'll keep a journal for Angel if you guys would like to keep up with their progress!

20. A while back I bought a Luts 2010 Winter Event Head for a male body I have. It didn't quite work. This particular doll head just cannot make up it's mind on which gender it wants to be. Right now the head is on a Bobobie female body and the head looks somewhat happier but still there's this strong undercurrent of "Am I a girl? Am I a boy? What exactly am I?" with this doll. When Mikki is on a girl body it seems better to me. Boy or girl there's definitely more of a femme thing going on. He's a very "pretty" boy, but I don't get the impression that just being a girl is 100% right either though the Luts head makes an excellent girl. I've never really had a doll that wasn't one or the other and I honestly did not plan on a dual gender doll at all. But if there is such a thing as dual gender this doll is it. Using "It" seems awkward and maybe a bit rude, but He/She seems weird to me too. This doll just doesn't seem to ID as either sex but as both? I don't know what to say. I kind of feel like a parent who's been told their child is intersex. I wanted to be supportive and get Him/Her on a body that will work, but no matter what I put this doll on it just never seems quite right. I don't quite know what to make of Mikki sometimes. He/She was a definite surprise. It's like there's a split personality thing going on...

21. I always refer to my genderfluid characters as 'They/them' there are also some new fangled Trans* pronouns out there for those who are not comfortable with traditional gendered pronouns. I can't think of them off the top of my head but I'm sure you can find them via google or on Tumblr.

22. That occurred to me too.

I have thought about a 2nd hand doll I think would make a pretty girl but actually has boy parts. My thought was to dress her up, never say anything about it and maybe find a girl body in the future. I don't think the doll would mind.

23. I think sometimes a person can take a doll through something that they themselves can't do for various reasons. It can be a form of expression for them. I also think it is good if it can bring greater understanding about being transgender or intergender. Maybe educating people about the difficulties and suffering can be expressed through their dolls story. I also noticed on this thread there are many misconceptions and the discussion here may help clear those up.

24. I don't have any trans-gender members of my crew, but I do have a pair that are supposed to be neither male nor female creatures (They're genderless air elementals... zephyrs). I just ended up using fairly non-muscular male bodies for both of them. I didn't have an interest (or the tools-) to make major sculptural mods to female bodies, so that seemed like the best compromise.

I guess having them on male bodies and giving them both male names (Galen and Ptolemaeus) lead to my usually referring to them with male pronouns, though that isn't entirely accurate for the characters as-written.

25. She's not here yet, but my character Tyler is male-to-female and canonically she's pre-op so still has a male body, I'm waiting for her to arrive and have gotten a male body for her as it is the right body for her in canon as she comes from an area where such surgeries are unheard of. I have had her character for several years and am only now getting her as a doll.

26. I have a bunch of Trans and Intersex characters, but none in doll form /yet/.
But I am tempted, if I find the right sculpt, to have my character Roman as a doll.
Roman uses male pronouns and the upperbody of a male and lower body of a female. Meaning he has a vagina not a penis but the rest of him is basically all male. I could also use my werewolf Lyall... but Roman would be more fun to clothe 'cause he's an addict and stuff...

27. I'm cis-female but I'm known as the "alpha male" or at least was until I started dating my current bf. I planned on getting a doll for a character who doesn't understand gender eventually. Since I'm new to the hobby I'm just figuring out which doll sculpts I like and which sizes for my characters. My close friend is trans and our mutual friends are having a hard time understanding. I'm hoping to create a story or character that can help educate them and others about the issues some people face. I live in a conservative area and a lot of people around me say such ignorant things that it makes me deo upset! I hope my dolls will help me be able to communicate my thoughts and feelings better than I can myself.

28. my impldoll idol Tony is a total hunk of a man, but I've never managed to find a style I like for him - he has a very gentle, sweet character and is innocent, not sexually active or aware that he's a sexy hunk - I just can't see him in plaid shirts and jeans somehow (he's naked at the moment) I was thinking this morning maybe he wants to wear white/pink/lace/frills! And yet when I bought him about a year ago, he was going to be a MAN *beats chest and bellows a war-cry* ^_^ But even when he had brown hair, the only shirt he 'wanted' to wear was one with pink flowers on - and he was mocked for this can you believe it! I just never saw any clothes that were right for him otherwise. He had a girlfriend for a while but nothing happened (see the pics on my flickr and he just looks a bit confused by it all LOL) She's left anyway - gone to live someplace else now....

I know a young 'guy' in real life though, who is gender neutral and been a lot happier since admitting it (initially 'he' thought he was trans, but decided not to swap one set of sexual stereotypes for another, so now he's just neutral - and bisexual). There is a lot more support and acceptance here in the UK though, for alternative lifestyles in general - he has a great bunch of friends (trans, bi, gay or gender neutral) who are the nicest young adults I've encountered. They have a social group several nights a week, do crafts, have 'dress-up' nights, go to bars and clubs, watch movies, do 'outdoorsy' stuff, share 'family' meals (as so many of these kids are rejected by their real families sadly).

They also perform in a drama group which tours schools educating teenagers about gender identity and prejudice, which is a fantastic idea I think. They have such a great time as a group I tell him I'm tempted to declare myself trans, just so I can join in the fun! But no - of course I couldn't join in anyway, as there is one 'ism' which will never be banished - Ageism! Meanwhile here's Richard (impldoll Tony) wondering what to wear....

29. My boy is more androgynous/intergender than he is anything else (I say he/him because that's the sculpt). Mostly I think he's just a-ok with the possibility of crossdressing :3c

30. I'm aware of zhe (ze).

Some individuals also opt to use Mx. as an honorific in lieu of Mr., Mrs., or Miss.

31. A lot of my dolls, actually. (I'm nb so of course I do. >u<) Alistair identifies as agender, a character who will be coming home soon is genderfluid, my Volks girl identifies as a trans girl, and Nevyrous is nonbinary (hasn't identified with a gender, but knows he's nb).

32. My incoming mnf mir Mihpares will be nonbinary and i myself am genderfluid.

33. I have a DC Bella on a boy body coming in who is agender, so I'll be modding the bits off the body. The character, Threnn, is biologically female but since I won't be posting pictures of them naked, I see no reason to further modify female parts onto the doll - I think it would just complicate the issue anyway.

The funny thing about Threnn is that they came from a story I started writing on a strict deadline, and I couldn't decide if I wanted the main character to be male or female, rather using them as a window to showcase the settings and events (kind of like the Silent Protagonist from videogames). They never even had a name until near the end of the book. I figured I'd just fix it all later on.

Well...the end of the book came around, and Threnn was still simply Threnn. A flashback revealed that they were biologically female (as well as revealing their name), but by the point in time where the book took place, that had become entirely irrelevant to who they were. They had become simply the gangly, nameless Bard.

34. My Kid Dollmore Ujee, who for the moment is named Achates, is definitely genderfluid. While they are definitely on a male body, they don't identify strongly with either gender. They don't wear particularly feminine clothes, but then again, I myself don't think of jeans and long-sleeved tees as being exclusively masculine wear.

35. It's pleasing and surprising to see a number of openly trans or other-wise gendered dolls and doll owners speaking up. I have three dolls that fit into these categories currently in house. I also have a Transmale doll in the planning stages, with a sculpt (Luts Delf Nihal) picked out, but I'm aiming for next year for him.

Currently in house I have Ichigo who is Agender, but for whom I use male pronouns. Ichigo's body is not gendered, as he is a Volks Ko-Tenshi Tsubaki.

I also have Apollo (Soom Shale) who is BiGender, for whom I also use male pronouns. I had Osaka paint him up with a somewhat feminine style to reflect this.

And finally I have Robbie who has a relatively minor intersex disorder. He's barely on the spectrum with partial androgen insensitivity. Basically it translates to a slight frame for him, minimal body hair if any, and a look of being stuck halfway through puberty. Robbie is a Volks School C head on an SD10 boy body, which works very well for this look.

Honestly he shouldn't have the goatee but that part of his character didn't firm up until after his faceup so when next he is painted he'll be done without facial hair and I'll call it good. :)

It's always a tricky thing to have dolls with conditions you may or may not have, but I think done respectfully, with proper research it certainly isn't out of bounds. Many of us are in the LGBTetc family, which gives us a background on some of these conditions, and some of us even have the conditions ourselves, or family members or friends with these conditions, and I think as long as everything is done with due respect and research it should not be an issue.

No one particularly knows that Ichigo is Agender, that Apollo is BiGender, or that Robbie is technically intersex, because these are just aspects of the characters. Important to me, but not something that will really matter to the average viewer.

36. My Ziggy is gender fluid. I've been calling her Ziggy-F, and him Ziggy-M in my head. I currently use female pronouns since she doesn't have any male clothes yet. She's a 3,000+ year old Time-Lord royal and has regenerated as both male and female, so the line is massively blurred. She chose her name when she came to Earth specifically to be neutral, and what she wears/is referred to all depends on what she feels like that day. I just have to hunt down something to make a short rainbow-colored wig for Ziggy-M.

37. I have a gender queer (Or gender fluid?) doll planed! Their name is Tate and they are a pirate! :3

38. I have a doll coming that will be non-binary, since I'm myself I thought was time. I also have two dolls that will be fluid and I have being thinking of doing a transgender as well just didn't decided how I want to represent them yet. But if I did I would want them to be on their right body so the characters would be happy with their body, I know body disphoria and is a horrible feeling and I wouldn't want a characters suffering with it.

39. My BJD's name is Adrienne and he uses he/him pronouns. He's Androgyne and Genderfluid/non-binary. :>

40. This is quite interesting to me to read through. I have one particular character, who, depending on the story I'm writing, has changed genders. In his original story line and how I default think of him, he is a cis male. However, when I re-worked a different story line, he revealed to me that in that particular world, he is a trans male. Now I'm working on a new plotline where she's actually a cis female. I have him in one doll-form as a cis male, again, because of how I default that to him.

Lately I've been toying with the idea of getting a second doll in a different size for the same character and I can't decide which version to go with. I'm really tempted to go with a girl as I have only a few girl dolls compared to boys and I really want a girl in that particular size. Still, then I wonder if I later on decide to sometimes portray him as his trans self, is it somehow offensive for him sometimes be a trans male and sometimes a cis female? I know the doll itself has nothing to do with different stories I have, but it's easy to feel paranoid.

41. I have one boy who is FtM. He is a model and remains very androgynous looking. I got him with the male body from HZ which is pretty skinny and his face is fairly feminine. Down below he doesn't have very obvious male genitals either. He is happy the way he is and never wanted to be a very masculine looking man. He has long hair and likes wearing make up. He also loves beautiful cloths and will model both male and female clothing. I have never put chest scars from top surgery on him but may put fine ones one day. I figure as he is a model he would have had a lot of fine surgery to minimize scarring as much as possible.
This is my Senri.

42. Well, I didn't until yesterday. I have had this male Elfdoll Mir since 2008. I love him to pieces, he was my first BJD. I finally got around to giving him a new faceup, yesterday, after putting it off for over a year. I worked hard on it all day, it turned out extremely well. When I got it done, I realized that he just didn't look like a guy anymore. I have been looking for a doll that looked like Nefertiti for years...and I suddenly realized that that was who he looked like now. So now I have to go shopping for a female body for him. His old body had at least a couple dozen outfits, and he was always my resident fashionista.....So I forsee a LOT of sewing in my future.

43. I have a FTM guy here though still in transition. He's a tan Supia Juah and I really like that the body isn't overly curvaceous making it easier for him to pass as a beautiful male. Going to sand down his chest some and sew him a binder until I some day sand and shape his chest nicely and will be sculpting him a penis. Until then he will wear a prosthetic in some specially made underwear.

Also have a Drag Queen who wears nothing but frilly long dresses, makeup and have quite the collection of wigs.

44. Well, now that Threnn has arrived - this is mine. :) Threnn is agender in most of their stories. The doll is a Bella head on a male DC body that I modded myself (the male body had less secondary sexual characteristics, so it was easier to take it to neuter than a female body with its very wide hips would have been).

Obligatory note: That is not a binder that they are wearing (bandages do not make good binders!). Setting-wise, it's just like a character with a bandaged chest in an anime - Threnn does not have breasts. Functionally, it was to add break up all the skin showing in the photo.

45. I actually have a transgender doll planned and on layaway. The sculpt I'm using is a Spiritdoll Smart Pyrus, which I thought was the perfect doll to use since it has a fairly feminine face yet has the boy body ^_^

Her name is going to be Rin and she'll identify as female (hence the female pronouns), but still be biologically male (have a doll boy body). I already have an idea of what she'll look like and everything. I've been thinking of doing a doll like this for a while and I'm really excited about it~

46. I noticed that a lot of people here are choosing androgynous looking sculpts for their dolls. I wanted to point out a lot of us do like to think our bodies are fairly androgynous. Some people are so lucky. Mine is ridiculously non-androgynous. I have known folks who are happy that their body IS so androgynous though, as it helps them pass and feel good about their appearance. It's very interesting that we have dolls that 'go through transition'.. Remember to wear respiratory protection while sanding!

47. I have a doll planned who's going to use "they" as a pronoun- an RS Bao that will be called Sindri.

48. One of the elf dolls I plan to get is intersex, goes by they/them and he/his pronouns. Their name is Szayel :') He's gonna be a ResinSoul to match his partner Tavra (the elf in my icon!).

49. I have plans for a gender-fluid doll. This thought came to me just one day because I had never thought or planned having this kind of doll personality in my doll family.
They are genetically a boy, but they switch from girl to guy spontaneously, including talking to the other self when in a gender or another, it's going to be quite funny. Their names are Nöel/Nöelle, and they are french.
I haven't yet decided on a sculpt tough, I want it to be MSD or smaller but I'm having a hard time finding an appropriate androgynous face and body, I just have to keep looking.
I'll keep you updated of my progress!

50. I have several Trans gender, and... other? gender dolls.

The first was my Elfdoll K, Thomas who is FtM. the only "modification" I did was add a couple of lines of acrylic gesso beneath his pectoral muscles for chest surgery scars. I had another doll that I originally intended to be another FtM character Spencer, but the male doll sculpt ( a souldoll vito Edmund) was too harsh, and I didn't like the way it turned out. I'm going to be doing something different with that doll, and reshelling my Spencer as a Zaoll Luv. preferably in tan... but thats going to be expensive. I'm not sure if I'll be doing any chest modding on him, as the character has not yet had chest surgery, and I'm not sure if he intends too.

I have one questioning MtF character... that at this point might be considered gender fluid? He is a B&G sky name Travis James Chesterfield. But he goes by T.J whether he is in "boy" or "girl" mode. I don't know if she will ever end up going through full "transition" (chest mods?) or not... but I guess I'll find out as the story goes on. XD

I have another doll Soong Hi (Customhouse Choa) that does drag occasionally, and did have a period of questioning her identity, and wondering if she was FtM. but now usually identifies as female, and a lesbian.

51. Me. I have a girl in the process. She was born female but doesn't identify as either. So normally she just wears baggy male clothes with a simple short hair style so she looks more boyish. While she feels more comfortable that way shes not sure what she is suppose to be. Bullies dont help her any either. Poor kid. Her storyline still has some holes i have to fill but that is the gist of it.

52. I have a character who is intersex and I plan on making a doll of her someday. She has very slight hips and tiny tits so I think I can get away with hybriding some dolls, but I haven't even begun to think of the models I'd use. She needs boobs, a penis, and a very delicate little face, then I'll need to somehow get some scales on her.

53. Elliott is a genderfluid, androgynous person, who although admits to his physical gender being male will dress in a rather ambiguous manner and will answer to both male and female as well as neutral pronouns at will. Generally, what he does is leaving it to the discretion of the people he's with to decide what they want to call him by as he never genders himself in conversation. If we were to put facts in a feminine to masculine scale, Elli would probably rank at about 70% feminine, being of a slight physique with rather wide hips and a tiny hint of breasts. He experiences no gender dysphoria of any kind whatsoever and is pretty open about his views when it comes to his own gender as well.

54. I have a trans girl named Coyote. :aheartbea She's a Ringdoll Dylan, and I'd actually had her (and the character) for a few years when I realized that the reason I'd had trouble bonding with her was that she wasn't meant to be a boy at all. It took a little getting used to but I cherish her even more now. I have no plans to change her body or anything; since she's a fae creature anyway she doesn't really experience dysphoria the way a human might.

I also have two dolls/characters that are technically sexless - both Soom tinies. One, Aurora (Soom Bygg), identifies as feminine, presents as a girl and uses she/her pronouns, (her twin is owned by my friend and identifies as masculine) and the other, Leilani (Soom Afi), is nonbinary, mostly feminine-presenting and uses he/him pronouns. Since neither of them were gendered to start with (they're fae too, of course), I suppose that would make Aurora trans in the sense that she identifies differently than she was assigned at birth.

I have other, human, characters that are trans or genderqueer that haven't been shelled, but it happens that it's easier to put a bunch of differently-proportioned dolls together when they're fairies and otherworldly creatures.

55. One of the boys on my wishlist is going to be a trans guy.

56. Reika is very androgynous; dresses both male and female. Reika also goes by the names of Sebastian or Bassy when he feels male. I find myself using male pronouns when addressing Reika lately. Reika is like a dollified me.

57. I have a lot of genderfluid/agender characters planned but don't have them in doll form yet. I also might have an FTM doll planned, not sure if that's gonna be his story or not yet.

58. I don't personally have a trans doll ( i do have other LBGT characters) but I love the idea of them and having that community represented. Just because I don't have one now, doesn't mean though that I wouldn't have one in the future at all

59. I have Agender/nonbinary and third gender dolls. I didn't put this kind of info about the characters anywhere yet tho...
One of them was supposed to be a girl but the character somehow developed (I am very connected to this one) and came out as kid with boy body, girlish look and absolutely nonbinary personality and identification.

60. I am transgender myself so I've been looking into shelling out one of my gender neutral characters ! I think it's good to have trans representation in my dolls since I would really like to see more representation in real life situations !!
