Things that are hard to find that you would like to see more of

Mar 24, 2010

    1. Granado has msd males 37cm

      • x 1
    2. Can always buy the white ones and dye them to the color you want, I’ve done that.

    3. I would LOVE some robotic/mechanical dolls that are MSD sized. The only good ones I can find are all SD and were limited sculpts done a long time ago. I know SoulDoll had some "Souloid" dolls but the girls look more like they're wearing skin-tight armor than robotic. I just want steampunk prosthetics and cyberpunk androids in sizes I collect, pretty please.

      • x 2
    4. I would love to find high heel feet that fit my male SD bodies, in all sizes.

    5. Suits for men in colors that aren't black, grey, blue or white. I'd love a print!! A crazy, colorful print! Or something like a well fitting bronze, or something in black and white (like a check or houndstooth). Anything other than the most basic of basics. I'm so tired of suit shopping and finding nothing.

      • x 2
    6. Armor, cosplay costumes, & shoes for muscular male dolls like Iplehouse HID's and Granado Titan. I would like to sew for my incoming HID from Iplehouse, but finding clothes patterns for them is tough too.

      • x 2
    7. Casual clothes for Impldoll Star or Iplehouse SID girls (they're about the same size). There are so many beautiful elegant dresses and pretty formal wear things out there, but just finding jeans, t-shirt/tank tops, jackets, etc for them is nearly impossible.

      • x 1
    8. I really want some cute halloween SD clothes...I've found halloween stuff for all other sizes but if it's for an SD guy...nah nothing at all ToT

      • x 1
    9. Leather doll shoes. I know of one maker and I refuse to support him so I guess my dolls will just have to stick with their peeling pleather shoes.

      • x 1
    10. Shoes! why are shoes so hard to find? I mean I usually find them but I am always afraid to buy them because what if they don't fit my dolls? Also, Halloween costumes :XD: I want to be able to dress my dolls in cute Halloween clothes, like a Pumpkin costume or a werewolf or a whole cat or bat costume.

      • x 1
    11. Definitely shoes and just more stuff in general for 1/8th scale dolls. Especially mature tinies. It can be very hard to find nice shoes for these dolls that aren't super toddler like.

      • x 1
    12. More variety in facial features I think! I know that there are certain beauty standards that dolls are commonly built to, but I'd love to see a strong aquiline nose on a doll, I find them quite beautiful.
Also, I'd love more variety in fancier boy clothes for the 45cm range.

      • x 3
    13. Flat-foot shoes for female dolls. They all seem to be high heel. I mean, I can find some, but geez.

      • x 2
    14. More natural hair wigs! I have coded Black dolls and it's a headache finding wigs that are curly at the roots, let alone wigs with kinky at doll scale hair.

      • x 3
    15. small doll wigs that arent so floofy

      • x 1
    16. Metal (or metal-looking) armor, gladiator sandals, and bags that aren't backpacks or are only sold with complete outfits! & maybe I just haven't looked in the right places, but while I've seen a lot of lingerie, I haven't seen a lot of swimsuits!

      • x 2
    17. More 1/3 sized furniture! It's hard to find some, and even harder to find some not as expensive or more expensive than real furniture.

      • x 2
    18. I want more animal bjds that aren't anthro. Its so hard to find cute animals like foxes or cats that don't fall under the off-topic category or aren't long sold out. My current grail doll is a Black Box Mochi which'll probably never happen *sigh*

      • x 1
    19. A big grim reaper scythe for the 60cm range, they're hard to find under 70cm range...

      • x 1
    20. Chair variety. Want some bar stools and love seats and wheelchairs and electric chairs.

      • x 2
    21. more horror msds/less cutesy stuff

less pastel goth and more ldk...club goth/more Hellraiser type clothing

l just want more outfits and stuff that fits dollzone

      • x 5
    22. Handheld accessories like bags, books, swords etc. for 1/3 scale that aren't part of a fullset. There's not a lot of keychains/magnets/toys etc. that would look proportional at this scale

      • x 2
    23. Dolls and clothing in the 50cm range
      Props for 1/3 dolls
Things being sold separate from full sets
      More bjd people near me

      • x 4
    24. More seamstress for tinies in the United States. Almost everything I buy is from overseas and they are definitely worth the wait but sometimes I’d like something quicker.

      • x 3
    25. Male dolls in the 61 to 63 size range. I see plenty of gorgeous male dolls which I would be tempted to get, but I do NOT want a 70cm doll. It is getting very difficult to find male dolls which are not 70cm and above. they are too big for me to enjoy. I have nerve damage in my hands, and I would have trouble handling a huge doll. I have SD boys in the old 62cm size, and they are perfect for me. Not too big and not too heavy.

      • x 9
    26. Shoes for Minifees. There were a couple of sellers on Etsy who made Minifee size shoes, but many of those sellers are in Russia and not allowed to sell on Etsy any more. Regular MSD shoes are far too big for Minifees.

    27. Horse props in 1/3 that don’t cost $700+.

      • x 5
    28. This, although I prefer up to 65cm height. 57-65cm for 1/3 dolls is just such a sweet spot for me. I like photographing my dolls in realistic posture and experimenting with interesting poses and action shots (wherever possible), and I think <65cm dolls are still light enough to be versatile, with less risk of collapsing or not able to hold a pose due to the weight.

That said, I'm getting a 68cm boy... let's see if I can get used to that. I really don't want to go taller than that.

      • x 1
    29. I second more props and furniture for 50cm dolls. I have my eye on one sofa for my doll that's $300 and i don't even want to think about the shipping costs :/

      • x 2
    30. I third this!!! I like 58-60cm girls and 62cm boys and any larger and I'm struggling with weight and storage issues. The 58cm girls that are being made now are too cutesy (wide faces, huge eyes, tiny rosebud mouths) with the more mature girls I want starting at like the 63cm or greater range which is too large for me.

It isn't even that the heads themselves are any larger. A 63cm girl typically has a head that is the same size (if not smaller) comparative to a 58cm girl (usually about 21cm circumference), it's just that the bodies and legs are elongated.

The 62cm boys often suffer from the same problem, being built with fatter faces and bigger eyes than the 68cm boys. I would love to have more mature looks without the added height/weight.

    31. SD cowboy boots for girls. Anything I've found is either too big or MSD size. Ugh.

      • x 1
    32. Bright fluorescent neon style clothing, like 80’s punk style.

      • x 4
    33. At the moment, I want to see more cool sci-fi doll clothes.

      • x 3
    34. Common sense!

...oh, wait, you meant for dolls...

Every day items like cell phones, laptops, keys on rings, thermal detonators; you know, stuff every one just has in their purse or pocket...

      • x 2
    35. Short muscular female bodies! Nothing against the tall amazon ladies, but I need a particular head+body combo to top out at 57~ cm or so [to keep her shorter than another doll, who is the centerpiece of the plot] and I haven't found anything that'll work for my needs. :sigh

      • x 2
    36. 1/3 size plus size ladies and honestly men would be cool, along with different skin undertones and variety in skin tones in general and also so many objects:
always more goth things, more piercing shape variety, vintage pastel clothing, 1/3 size horses and vintage looking motorcycles, more pet dolls (can you imagine having a jointed spider or a jointed snake :eusa_pray it would be so cool) also more 1/3 size swords and daggers would vibe and more quality leather that wasn't impossible to work with. Also it would be super cute to have ball joint dolls for ball joint dolls.
Just an easy simple list :)

    37. Yes to more horse and other 1/3 scaled animal figurines that don't cost a bomb!

Sci-fi clothes are rare too because of how difficult they'd be to put on since there are many hard parts to it!

      • x 2
    38. muscular, adult like MSD male bodies. I need a male doll that is no more than 50 cm high, but does not look like a 12 year old boy.

      • x 2
    39. I've never seen these before, but maybe they exist somewhere, but I want proper punk spiked mohawk wigs, with the shaved sides and everything. I could see how that'd be hard to make, but I want it!

    40. Static hands in different poses, for 1/3 male dolls around 65cm in size.

I think this used to be easy to find years ago, but now seems to be getting less common. Jointed hands are now the hands du jour for 1/3-sized male dolls in the 65-68cm and taller range, so dollmakers are offering fewer "optional" static hands in different poses, and some don't offer them at all for certain boy bodies. (Whereas jointed hands are not commonly available for 1/3 girls, so in exchange they have plenty of option hands.)

I happen to dislike the look of jointed hands a lot, so I would love to have more variety of option hands for my 65cm guys. I might have to start hybriding hands to bodies now...

    41. Shoes and accessories made of real leather or nice fabric, that doesn‘t rot away like pleather (synthetic leather).

    42. More complete-set fantasy clothes from artisans, inspired by different mythologies across the world.

      • x 8
    43. LUTS still makes quite a few of those in various sizes.

    44. Short yosd and clothes for them. They are getting more popular but I’d like to see them just as common as standard yosd size.

    45. I thought of another one!

More fantasy races available as both male and female. Ex: I love faewoods Radiata and Somnia Crawler’s Nara, but where my boy orcs at?! ♥️

    46. Hmm, let's see....

Well, I'd like to see more unique facially featured elf-eared types in both male and female (for males: more masculine and less bishie in appearance, for females: longer faces with narrower eyes and prominent cheekbones) and androgynous that are available as head-only. I seriously miss the days when SartoriaJ was a head-only company. They have some fantastic elf-eared releases, but (and nothing against them per say) I'd prefer to not have to buy their bodies in order to get those heads, or have to do a split in order to do so. Same could be said for Iple and all those limited special release offerings for elf eared heads.

    47. Maybe it's because I want to commemorate the experience that is Oppenheimer, but I need that hat and that suit...somehow in 68cm boy form. I just read last night that the hatter for the film used undyed beaver felt and that it was a difficult hat to create so yay for me :...(

    48. I've noticed others have said more 50cm dolls, and I'd love that as well. A 47-50cm body proportioned more towards 1/3 rather than 1/4 would be perfect for my Bimong 1/3-size Dandelion heads, and would also work for my Dollmore Mio (who for me is a child/young teen). I've been struggling to find bodies for them forever :...( Obitsu 50 is the closest so far to the proportions I have in mind, but I dislike vinyl and the limbs fall off too easily.

    49. Musical instruments for 70cm+ especially guitars. I really want to try and make some of my own but I have no clue where to start - I’d love to make a few inspired by more specific models.

And more fancy shoes too, always looking for fancy shoes!

    50. It is so hard to find good fantasy pieces for my mature 45cm guy, feels like almost everything is either too modern or too childish. I’d love to just buy some basic pieces instead of having to make them myself or find someone to commission.

    51. Personally, I'd like more props sized for bigger dolls (70cm~80cm).

Some of them exist and are (rightfully) very expensive, but the possibilities are still rather limited.

Also, more heel feet/legs for slender male 70cm dolls! The only ones I've found, are either for smaller 68cm dolls or super bulky 75cm+ dolls who have enormous feet.

Furthermore, I'd like more fantasy sculpts for the bigger dolls too. I notice that most of them are 1/4 sized, which is understandable given the complexities, but it'd be nice to have bird hybrid/centaur/mermaid/... dolls for the 70cm+ category.

      • x 4
    52. More Elizabethan clothing for the large ladies

      • x 1
    53. Anthro horse BJDs and 1/6 scale doll furniture. I don't see enough anthro horse BJDs which makes me a little sad since I've seen plenty of faun/satyr dolls, but no anthro horse dolls specifically. The 1/6 scale doll furniture is also kind of scarce because I've only seen Barbie furniture and it's in vibrant colors that don't match a lot of my characters. It leads to painting over the pre-existing furniture or crafting your own.

      • x 1
    54. @MJ_NewDollOwner You should check out Kinoko Juice POWDER! She's an anthro unicorn, but you could easily leave her magnetic horn off.

      • x 1
    55. @nyaaain Thanks for the suggestion! I just checked her out and she is adorable. However, the website only takes PayPal and I don't have PayPal. Maybe some other time....

    56. Lolita fashion-style outfits for bigger +68-cm dolls!! There are so many available for the smaller dolls up to 60cm, but practically nothing for the big fellas that I can find thus far. Let me put my boy in a frilly, ruffled dress and bonnet! :...(

      • x 2
    57. That's odd, I keep searching for 1/4 furniture, and finding 1/6 scale instead! There's a lot of variety on etsy, but there's also old-fashioned dollhouse makers who work in 1:6 scale. What aesthetic are you looking for?

As for myself: I really wish there was more vintage-style clothing, especially in slim MSD size. Victorian-inspired stuff abounds, but what about the 1950's? I'm looking to put together a Dior "New Look" wardrobe, but I'll probably have to commission most pieces or make them myself...

      • x 2
    58. Red wigs, and wigs for smaller dolls. I didn't realize this until I got a tiny, and decided red hair would look good on her, but once you get outside the "standard" SD, MSD, YoSD size range, the variety in wig options craters, hard. There are a few cutesy childlike wigs, but... where are the people with mature tinies, because I know they exist, getting them?!

      • x 3
    59. Give me boy Pukifee clothes or give me death!

      • x 2
    60. Hmm, Body sculpting is very important to me, I like top/torso like df-h 1/5, 1/4, and legs like x (Japanese trend), Ike huajing, cutie minifee's legs, skinny but not bones.... but please give me these in one doll :(
In clothes, I like more realistic ones, especially coat that looks loose/oversize but it's really hard to sew and it very expensive. Also hart to find realistic looking high boots on flat sole.
