The Great Triathlon: When the Clock Strikes!

We asked contestants to complete three week long challenges requiring the creation of something using re-purposed items and no more than $20 of purchased materials.

The challenges were as follows:
Under Glass ~ Make a transparent outfit for your doll.
Timepiece ~ Make an in-scale timepiece that relates to your doll.
Transformation ~ Create a narrative in which your doll is physically transformed

The winners were selected by three rounds of member voting. Contestants accumulated vote points and those with the most points at the end of three challenges were the winners!

Couture Contest: The Witching Hour!

This year's sewing contest challenged members to create a complete ensemble for a fully realized witch character.
Contestants were given three weeks to complete this challenge. Entries were posted anonymously and the winners were selected by member vote.

Inspired by Pagan rituals my witch is at one with nature, celebrates the changing of the seasons and collects plants and berries to make potions for healing and love spells for the local villagers.

Customizing Contest: In brightest day or blackest night!

This year's customizing contest challenged members to execute a face-up with the theme of noon or midnight. Entries were posted anonymously and the winners were selected by member vote.

Photography Contest: High Noon

Photography contestants were given the theme of High Noon. Photos were posted anonymously and winners were selected by member vote.

Avatar Design Contest

Contestants were asked to create a new default avatar for new members who have not yet created a custom avatar. Winner was selected by Den of Angels staff vote.

The winning design was created by @mionnaise


mionnaise won a Nine9 Style $100 gift certificate and all three avatar variants are now in use on Den of Angels.

 

Writing Contest: The Twelve Sentence Story

Members were asked to write a piece of micro-fiction based on the specific image of Pipos Raoh below. The winning story was selected by Den of Angels Staff vote.

Shotguns, shipwrecks, cyclones, even a hot-air balloon, and they thought that would be enough to take care of me?
Silly people.
I love the way they panic when I stroll back into town, a little swagger in my step.
I've got way more than nine lives, baby.
Old Mister Johnson is going to have his hands full with me.
He can keep handing me off, make me someone else's problem all he likes.
It doesn't make a difference to me.
I'm Mister Johnson's problem, from now until the end of time.
I've got seven little kittens, and they're just like me.
We just can't stay away.
This cat comes back the very next day.

Osaka has won a blank Pipos Raoh head.
