^ Haha, none of them turned out like expected. I let them boss me around too much! They kick off clothes and shoes, and mess their wigs, and then I put them in things they look comfortable in, I give up, they win!

< I am so excited my package is coming later this week and all I can think about are dolls!

v - Do you sew your own doll clothes and make your own doll wigs, or do you prefer to buy your doll items?

 

^ Buy things. I'm terrible at crafts. I've spent plenty of money on various supplies but when I'm not instantly good at something I tend to lose motivation, lol.

< 1/2 hour to go! Then, freedom. Yay!!

v What frustrates your doll's character the most?

 

^ Aura, who I am high key buying soonish? Is frustrated by anything that makes her out of control. She is Peak Distinguished—the queen of a kingdom, in a political marriage. She uses minor illusion to do her makeup every morning, is both an accomplished sorcerer, and quite intelligent, and is treated as a figurehead by her human husband. She’s learned to keep her composure impeccably, and not reveal any of her feelings. Or her full name, because Aura flows better for those who don’t speak her elvish dialect. Anything that makes her lose her cool is not appreciated.

<i can’t wait to order a blue. Twigling. Girl. Y’all don’t even know how long I’ve gawked at her dolls.

V What frustrates your doll’s character most?

 

^ Most of my couples get very irritated when I change their clothes and they wind up far from each other for any length of time. They stare at me accusingly.

< I'm guessing my Granado lucky bag will arrive soonish, I hope. Really excited about the possibilities of a new and different head arriving.

v Do your doll's characters welcome newcomers or are they indifferent.

 

^ They definitely welcome them! Feather and Fluke are both very welcoming and hospitable.

< Tired, but creative. Long night.

v what would your doll character do if they stayed up all night?

 

^ What I wish I could do: sleep all day.

< don't wanna work just wanna sleep...

v What motivates one of your doll's characters?

 

^ Kaimana is a sea sprite that now lives with a mix of fairies and humans, so she is always curious about new things, and loves any chance to play with water. That includes washing dishes.

< My job interview this morning went well, I'm just not sure it's the right job.

V What does your doll's character do when they get overwhelmed?

 

^ They pretty much all go quiet and retreat into themselves for some downtime enjoying their various interests, except for Ava who goes looking for Eamonn for hugs.

< So excited to have a doll specific bookcase. They now all have a place all of their own to sit and that I can decorate how I like.

v Where do your dolls hangout when you aren't playing with them?

 

^ mostly on a shelf away from sun and cats, lol... but otherwise in a pink bin I move them in.

v are your dolls characters scared of thunderstorms?

 

^ They aren't, but I am

< Old songs will never fail to satisfy me. Love them so much!

v What is the smallest doll size you want to own (maybe now you already have ones) and how would you feel about dressing them up in that size?

 

^ The ittiest-bittiest. Lay it on me.

< Maybe I'll be able to do more doll things once I clean my room (for the first time in months whoops)

v On the opposite end, what's the largest doll you'd like to own?

 

^ I already own the largest doll I'd realistically go for, MSD size, and I do love that size. But were money no obstacle, I'd for sure go for a Dollmore Lusion. They're so beautiful and I just love watching box openings and videos of them.

< At last the day is over and I can relax and think pleasant doll thoughts.

v Do your dolls have similar hair colours and styles or do you like variety?

 

^ Mine do! I love pinks and whites, mohair and fur, and most of my dolls will have a mohair wig.

< Writing the 4th book to my series, here we go!

v if you could take your dolls on any vacation, where would you take them?

 

^ I'd take them to Hua Hin which is my most favorite beach in my country! I could enjoy a morning walk with a doll in my arms ^^

< Food! Yes, I love food. Hmm...I should get food for my dolls too.

v Do your doll characters have favorite food?

 

^ Emie (werewolf): Raw meat. Preferably something she killed herself. She'll eat anything else, though, if that's not available. She's a hungry girl. Lorina's favorite is cakes, pastries, anything sweet. Ilari is a big fan of fresh, warm bread and butter but will, like Emie, eat basically anything without complaint. Adult Ilari is a vampire though, so he can only eat blooood. He doesn't like it though. Pup (a zombie) has one goal in life and that is to consume human flesh but he has no teeth. Alas, his bites are harmless.

< Wish payday was this week and not next week.

v Do your doll characters have any dishes they hate?

 

^ Turnips! Everyone is in agreement that turnips are just a no. Emma tries to eat hers as a good example, but really she doesn't like them either.

v Where would your dolls like to go to eat out?

 

^ Any place that have cakes and desserts! He had a sweet tooth and his favourite is brownies.

< Gotta work on them arts today! So many things to finish.

v Do your dolls have a certain fashion style or are they not fixed?

 

^ My dolls typically share a modern, cute style - but their characters exist in various modern and fantasy settings. So eventually I'd like to acquire fantasy outfits for them as well.

< I'm over 60% of the way on my savings for a Switch body!

v Who is your favorite eye maker?

 

^It's really a tie between Mystic Eyes and Hand Craft Glass. I was able to commission some absolutely gorgeous custom eyes for two of my characters with albinism. Lookit the incredible detail: ::+:: m y s t i c e y e s i n t e r n a t i o n a l ::+:: Tiny veins, translucent iris...absolutely perfect!! My Emie has basic eyes from them in a dark red and they still have such depth. Lovely.

However...the blue eyes I got from them didn't work for Lorina/Mariana. I don't know what it was. But these BlueGrey D400 from Hand Craft are perfect: https://www.handglasscraft.com/en/blue-grey-d400-glass-doll-eyes/ They give her a softer expression, I think.

v Passing on the question cause I'm totally passionate about eyes. Who is your favorite eye maker?

 

^ BlueberryStyle. I tend to cheap out on eyes, but they have great small iris ones for the price. Almost all my dolls wear them now. Though SoulinaBox always tempts me.

v What doll accessory do you like to hoard?

 

^ ooooh that's a tough one, cause I just generally love buying all the tiny things! But I will say books and mugs, because they are fairly easy to come by

v do your dolls all have a similar fashion style, or do you like to have as many styles as possible in your collection?

 

^ They're all modern day clothing at the moment, although prefering different colours and styles, some bright and sparkly others dark and serious. One will come later though who will be more steampunk.

v What ages are your dolls? Do they fit the general age for their size or do they vary (eg yosd = toddler)?

 

^ I keep my dolls all fairly young but not too much by size. My future msds will only be a bit younger than my sds. I dont really care for age much.

v do your dolls have family connections? Are they related?

 

^ I have a pair of dolls that are fraternal twins (brother/sister), but that's about it. Most of them are romantically linked.

v Are your dolls part of one story, or multiple stories?

 

^ Currently they are only a part of one story and I don't think I'm adding more anytime soon.

v What's the name of your first doll and do you still own them?

 

^ Her name is Feather and yes I'll always own her! She's my first and my grail!

^ Ooh this is fun to think about. Ava - raven, Eamonn - owl, Quill - white duck, Fern - sheep, Emma - fox, Daphne - swan, Violet - pony, Nan - fat-tailed dunnart hehe.

^ I don't have Patronuses picked out, but I do have an idea of animal-versions and His Dark Materials style daemons. Not sure which is closer. It's been so long since I read anything Potter.

Ilari - a feathered cream-colored Saluki in animal form, daemon is an albino rat
Lorina - Large White Butterfly, Northern Mockingbird
Emie - wolf both ways. She's a werewolf already, soooo...

v Who would your doll's character's Pokémon (or Digimon, or similar mon of your choice) partner be?

 

^ I've not thought about this before but the first ones that came to mind were
Blue - Jigglypuff (this would be the cutest partnership ahhh)
Perrin - Growlithe (I could totally see her going off on adventures with her best friend Growlithe the fire doggo)
Molly - Farfetch'd (she would definitely go for a bird/flying type, and I think of Farfetch'd as being quite resourceful like Molly)
Peter - Abra (shy, small, sleepy, teleports away when scared. Very Petery.)

^ first that came to mind is snubbull, because my Nael boy has a somewhat grumpy face and will have pink hair and basically they match xD he's also a dog person, so a dog pokemon seems the obvious choice!

^ My Unoa Lusis would like Jigglypuff’s song but it would drive me crazy!

< trying to budget some time to enter a DoA Anniversary competition but this month I have 2 other outside projects and a conference that might keep me too busy!

V Who in your crew is the ’loudest’ in making their opinions about things known to you? Or...if your dolls don't do that, how do you decide things for them?

 

^ If we're talking character-wise, it's for sure Nova. The guy's not afraid to make himself known. As for clothes and wigs and such, though, it's mostly been Jun, which is surprising considering how quiet she is when I write her. (And for what it's worth, I WISH my new guy would make his preferences known to me! I haven't even gotten to his faceup yet.)

< Whyyyy have I entered so many contests and exchanges and commissions at ooooonce? Halp.

v So these anniversary badges are fun and new! If your DoA anniversary were an ACTUAL anniversary spent with your first doll, how would you spend the day with them?

 

^ Finishing his goshdarn wig so he can model it it for a photoshoot. I've been working on one almost as long as I have had him. It's almost finished, but almost is not finished.

^ yep! 10 years

v do you enjoy doing mods and/or faceups on your dolls?

 

^ I do! I'm a little more trepidatious about mods, but I find faceups a fun way to make a doll truly my own.

< Just finished Magical Girl Raising Project. It was okay? Like a much better Mirai Nikki.

v What are some other hobbies you entertain besides BJDs?

 

^ I love reading and writing. I spend hours a day writing and reading, and taking pictures sometimes.

< Feeling emotional and headachy.

v what is your dolls characters favorite hobby?

 

^ Alchemy and drinking tequila.

< If the wig I finally broke down and commissioned does not look great on him, I GIVE UP!

v Have you ever had a doll whose sculpt you truly adored, but you just couldn't get him/her to look the way you envisioned? (Not that I'm asking from personal experience or anything. :P)

 

^ yup, Doll Love Lenon. So much potential but no matter how much I wished him to be more like Dollshe Saint, he would not comply. So now I have Saint and now Lenon can finally maybe become something on his own. He's a good doll, just not a good stand-in!

< summer insomnia and the night insects in the trees are really loud! Also I may or may not have eaten most of the almond cookie dough. Not sorry.

v if you could have any wig at all, which would you choose and why?

 

^That’s tough! I’ve been looking for the right kind of long wig with a side part. No bangs! Blue/blue gradient or brunette would be the dream~ That’s oddly specific but my doll is very picky >.<

vAre all of your dolls in the same timeline together, storywise?

 

^ Yes, they are all in a modern fantasy world. Though some of them are fairies that don't understand technology very well.

< I need to replace my sewing machine so I can go back to sewing doll clothes.

V Do you make any of your dolls' clothes?

 

^ I havent yet but my mom has! I plan to start sewing once I have room for my machine again!

v Do your dolls all live in the same home? Or are they separate?

 

< some live in the same home, specifically a brother and sister, (who need a collapsible room box or 3 for their story) 2 live in the human world, but try to stay ’hidden’, several occupy a celestial plane, several live in a dollhouse, one lives on her own shelf with in scale props and one lives in a big silver tea urn, both literally and in her storyline!

< feeling really tired today but I'm going to make a giant milky coffee and PERSEVERE

^ Mika collects crystals and pretty stones, Marry loves to make things very aetheticly pleasing (sounds wierd but like serving food, clothes ect), Francis likes theatre, musicals ect and Klaus does yoga

v How did you join the hobby

 

^ I initially found eluts in 2004 but they were far too expensive for me then. I rediscovered them in 2009, through deviantart, and my mom bought me my first in 2010!

v have you ever been parted from your dolls?

 

^ It took him a long, long time to figure out what it felt like to love himself. Suicidal thoughts haunted most of his previous lives, and even he won't admit to himself that the people around him were the only things keeping him alive in his greatest need.

< ...Whew, that got a bit darker than I usually get, eh? Movin' on~

v Financial tips for someone saving up for their first or most expensive doll?

 

^ Spend money for important stuff in their life first, doll stuff comes later. Do not buy things they don't like and be clear to what they actually want in that doll.

< My high school friend is getting married. Time flies! I can still see a teen girl in her.

v Let's talk about marriage. Do you have dolls who are married, or do you plan to get your dolls married, or do you plan to get your doll married to your friend's doll?

 

^ Ilari and Lorina are the closest I've got to a married couple. Lorina's creepy older brother kidnapped him as a companion for her and they lived together for six years and had a baby and eventually tried to run away from afore mentioned creepster who was keeping her an isolated prisoner for reasons not at all related to planned human sacrifice...

v I haven't worked on the story my dolls are characters in for years now. Does your doll collection have one or more stories related to them? Do you write, draw, or do anything like that with the characters embodied in your dolls? I'd love to hear about it.

 

^ i draw them a lot, but i find writing them is not my thing, as i am an author professionally, i keep them separate but i do love to draw my characters. I've always kept my dolls and their characters apart from other hobbies.

< Lover on repeat is my new state of life.

v do you have any songs you put with your characters?

 

^Not particularly. The song "Love Shack" by the B-52s came to mind when I read the question but I'm not sure if I would necessarily associate that song with my doll, as I feel it's too modern.

vWhen you have to travel with your dolls do you pack them up or carry them?

 

^ Pack. I've had to move a lot, usually by plane. They go in a carry on case. In fact, I just moved again and they are still in the suitcase.

v Have any good doll related news?

 

^ Yes! These days the exchange rate between THB, USD, and KRW is great for buying. So I'd say I can buy dolls very much cheaper than before. However, I don't really need anything doll-related now but it's still a good feeling.

v Do you have a lot of photos of your dolls in your phone? xD

 

^ Yes. I switched from Apple to Samsung for the camera quality, since I take most photos with my phone.

< Managed to take a few pics of Leon (my Puki Puki who goes everywhere) while on vacation.

V Do you have a "travel" doll?

 

^ I've tried the "travel" doll thing a bunch of times, and I still have all the ones I bought to fill that roll. The problem is, I usually just end up leaving them in the bag they came in and not doing anything with them at all, or missing the ones I really want that were left at home due to size. And on the occasion I do end up bringing the larger ones with me, they also just stay in the bag. I need to learn that unless I'm specifically traveling for doll stuff I'm probably not going to need a doll with me XD

V How do your dolls relate to each other? Are they actually released? a group of friends? Different characters in different stories that never interact???

 

^ I have a few main “groups”. My 4 worlds group (Fierene, Balik, Tacet, Rina, Chromis, Dacrya, *possibly* Venestus) are all from the same universe, and some have storylines that intersect. Chromis, Dacrya and Venestus are from an earlier storyline than everyone but Fierene (who is a goddess, and has met everyone in this verse) and and are Tacet’s half-siblings (her dad did a lot of this), but she’s only met Ness and doesn’t know they’re her sibling.
They probably won’t ever meet my D&D verse. (Vidania, Veris, Ezra, Arastra, Vivael, Strahd, Clara, Acyra and Nirathos). Who expose my weakness for V-names, and necromancers. Vidania wouldn’t have canonically met any of these people (she’s a PC for a campaign), and Acyra knows Nirathos (he’s her childhood best friend). Vivael is one of Strahd’s victims, and Clara is the closest thing a person with no soul, conscience or morals can have to a soulmate for him. Veris is a Lich, and Ezra is a triton player character who might have hooked up with any of the others? Maybe? Arastra is an idea for a one shot, and is basically a rogue impersonating the avatar of a goddess.
The other group, right now, is tiny. Just Azrael and the man she calls a Miracle. (And possibly Lilith?) they don’t really have crossovers, but one day I’ll redo their universe.
I definitely have aus where they all meet (like getting all my necromancers—vidania, Dacrya, Veris, Vivael, and sometimes Lilith—into a room to talk shop, or the support group for people with grievances with the gods: everyone from four worlds canon, Viv, Vidania, Acyra, Nirathos, Arastra, and everyone from the other reaper universe)

V your doll’s character is now the protagonist of the last show you watched/book you read/game you played. What happens?

 

^ I was on an Amazing World of Gumball binge. The illogical nature of the world would drive Elliot and Ji-han up the wall. Ollie would enjoy it, probably so much that the actual protagonist would come back and have a showdown to get his place back. Gobbie would not like being the center of the universe's attention and would probably try to fade into the background, to little success. And Ingrid would be uncomfortable, but try to play along as long as she could.

v If you could get a free custom doll made, what would it be and would you let others buy orders of it too?

 

^ A 1/6 version of my Ringdoll K, and no.

My granddaughter would be my choice of custom doll. Just as she is here in this photo. This is one of her high school graduation photos. She is gorgeous, sassy and one of a kind honest and just all around beautiful person (especially because of that knowing smirk), smart, tenacious and mouth like a sailor.

^ Literally all of my dolls have either black or white-blond, so those!
