^ no im cutting myself off this year, 2 dolls in a month is really too much, ive got doll stuff coming though, wigs, clothes...

< my bed is too comfortable to leave

v what are your Christmas plans for your dolls?

 

^ I love pastels so for Christmas I made some pastel outfits:

and I have a 2ft tree to take pictures with.

v what are your doll related resolutions for 2021?

 

^im saving up for when twigling releases the androgynous body Reese has been talking about. I’d like to finish at least one mod project in 2021, and I’d like Ireena and aradia to be together by the end of the Year. Also hopefully I will finish my shrike mask...

^ uhhhh finish that chest mod before the two year mark then complete that doll (he needs a wig and faceup too)

< I need a to add a new drawer for my doll clothes, but my dolls have nothing to wear WAAAAHHH

v Have you ever wanted your job to be related to this hobby? Things like making dolls, being a professional seamstress or faceup artist?

 

^ Definitely! If I could make money by making wigs, face ups, or bjds themselves I would 1000%

< I feel like if I were in dnd I would be a chaotic good ranger who borders on chaotic neutral XD

v If you could get one bjd related thing (wig, eyes, piece of clothing, ect) what would it be?

 

^ I'm assuming you mean for free. If I could get one thing for free I think I'd like to get Hazuki the perfect wig xD I have made numerous attempts to get the right color and style only to go back to the one she came with! Like idk maybe I should just give up and make her hair black

> On a side note I think if I could only buy my dolls one of these things going forwards it would be eyes. Bald and naked is more acceptable to me than eyeless XD

v Are you the type of person who likes to get stuff (eyes, wigs, clothes) in advance of a doll arriving, after the doll arrives, or like in the package with the doll?

 

^ it depends. I did buy stuff in advance as a rule, including for a SD17 I never could bring myself to buy . This time, I won't be buying anything for the doll I'm waiting for. She is a Dollzone Cyborg in grey skin and I'd rather not take the chance. I'll make clothes for her when she arrives. As I have a lot of eyes and chunky MSD trainers, she'll be using them as a temporary measure.

< I am looking forward to this new addition to my crew. She should fit. Fingers crossed.

V If your dolls decided to get to the other side of the world, which stops would they make along the way and what means of transport would they choose?

 

^ I just had a funny image of them being stole aways on a cargo ship. They are holding up in a box eating snacks and playing card games. Then the sneak on to the Orient Express, because they want to get to the Orient and tour their birth places. Everything is all old fashioned from the Victorian era.

< I wish I could figure out how I want to photograph my dolls. I want some kind of theme, but I can't decide on it.

v If your dolls were to ask for Holiday/Christmas presents, what do they want?

 

^ BODIES!!! And some attention, probably =___=

v What's your favorite resin color? Do you own many dolls in this color?

 

^ either light purple or obsidian. And I do own a doll in each, but neither is here yet! I’m hoping one will ship next week. I could use a boost right now, and she’d look so pretty with Eve, my latest ingenue.

<I have been up since 5. My heart is racing. My partner had a depressive episode yesterday, and I’m still shaky, even though I think she was doing better by the end of it? She’s asleep. She’s okay. Why can I be either of those things?

V what do you enjoy most about your dolls?

 

^ I think I mostly like just holding them, looking at them, and admiring their beauty while I hang out with them. I'm not generally the type to play rough with them and I'm not confident enough in my photography skills to try a lot of adventurous poses, but that's okay, I just think they're beautiful and I'm happy to have them.

< I can't believe I just dropped that much money. Is this going to bite me in the butt? I have enough saved up so it should be okay, I think? Why am I freaking out like this?

v What size range do you enjoy collecting the most, and why?

 

^ I mostly have mature tinies about 30cm tall, and they're small enough to be easy to pick up and pose, and big enough not to be a total pain to sew for. They also tend to be more affordable than big dolls. But I got my first MSD this week, and I am so totally in love with her, that my preferred size might change.

< I need to make my new girl some more clothes. She so far only has a sleeveless dress and 2 skirts.

V Going to use the previous question again- What's your favorite doll size?

 

^ I really love the 60-70cm doll range right now. My wallet doesn't tho hehe I do also love the portability and easy handling of YoSD sized dolls but I prefer more mature sculpts

> 40-50cm mature sculpts are gonna be my downfall.

v Do you have a specific doll size you are sworn off from collecting? Why?

 

^ Mature tinies. They are cool, but alas, they won't fit in with my little bobbleheads.

v What was the biggest doll project you took on this year?

 

^ I um ... didn't. I ordered a DIY wheelchair kit off PuppitProductions a year ago, then proceeded to go on one of my unplanned hiatuses (hiati? what's the word?) ... it's still sitting there, untouched. I've got all the materials, primer, paint, glues, instructions ... maybe this year for xmas, who knows. If I tackle it, that'll be the biggest (= only) project of the year.

< that's what I get from starting to sew for myself instead of for my dolls ...

v Passing on ... what was the biggest doll project you took on this year?

 

^ Rearranging the east wall past the Pub. I moved some furniture and messed up by not cutting a board wide enough so I'm at an impasse. Good thing is I didn't mess with the Pub and the living rooms so I still have those for photos.

< Busily straightening up my doll room, I need to throw out some things because I don't want to be a hoarder but I might need it in a month or year....

v Are you a crafter/sewer, a buyer or a mix?

 

^ I am a mix. I started by being a buyer, then I persevered with sewing. Nowadays, I rarely buy. My last purchase was made this week when I ordered a pair of boots for my littlefee. My previous purchase was nearly 3 years ago. I wish I could make shoes for such a small doll.

< I went through my MNF's clothes. The tops I made at the start of the hobby really need an upgrade.

V Which clothes made by you need to be replaced? Will you remake them or will you buy replacements?

 

^ I made my pukifee this little fairy dress with a frilly tutu before learning how to actually make a tutu The skirt piece could really use an upgrade lol I'll be remaking it . . . someday

v Speaking of, what food/meal would your doll's character eat until they explode?

 

^ Given that Eve is based on my reading of Paradise Lost, she’s the first doll I think of for food-related consequences—though it wasn’t like she sat under the tree and ate all the fruit. Otherwise, once M gets cured from being a vampire, she thrives off of literally any human food she can get. It’s been 400-ish years. She will eat until she pops a bit.

<shout out to Coris, for being a Twigling sculpt and inexplicably fitting an SD13 outfit. I have trouble getting sd16 to go on them (their hips!) so that was a nice thing.

V Festive question: how does your doll’s character celebrate the holidays?

 

^ by asking me to make some more clothes.

< Sewing for DC Kid Amos is exhausting.

V Which doll do you love to make clothes for?

 

^ I haven't started sewing for dolls yet, though I think my favorite would be my DC Queena because of her unique body shape! (However I think she'd also be the one I'll find the most frustrating)

< Currently have a list of eleven bjds I'd love to own someday.... and that's only from DC and DZ

V If you had to chose between finishing one of the dolls you already have or get one of your grail dolls, which would you chose?

 

^ Grail doll of course. Though I do have mine now, so I can finish some of my not so finished dolls.

< Walking on the seawall today is going to be chilly, but interesting. I always wonder what the tide has brought in.

v Does your favorite doll prefer shoes, boots or barefoot?

 

^ Boots! Especially combat boots.

v Do any of your dolls have a favorite accessory or article of clothing?

 

^ yes, my tallest likes his giant microbe brain cell plush. I was surprised how well it suited his size and his lankiness. It always brings a smile on my face when it is out.

< so I am back sewing for my DC Kid Amos. This little guy needs a full wardrobe before the new girl makes an appearance.

V Have you ever ordered something for fun and out of curiosity that ended in one of your BJDs stash?

 

^ I didn't order it per se, but I got a tiny teddy out of a little vending machine at a doll convention and my tiny promptly claimed it. She is an old lady, but they somehow suit each other.

v Which of your dolls do you think is the cutest?

 

^ cutest? Probably Aura. She’s really femme, and dresses in a lot of lighter colours and laces and the like. She’s got long white hair that she often dyes the ends of. She’s really pretty. Also looks tiny with her girlfriend (58cm/66ish cm) which makes her even cuter.

<dremelling in negative temperatures. Why did I think that was smart??

v which of your characters is the hardest to find clothes/accessories for?
