^ I don't particularly have a preference. The only time I really needed my dolls to be new was with Karalyn and Jun, I wanted them cast in the same batch so they would be the same color since they're twins.

< Maybe I'll go on a walk. Maybe I'll just shove my face full of chocolate and prune up in the bath.

v Who is your youngest doll character? Care to share a picture?

 

^According to looks the youngest so far is Synti, my DZ Senna, she looks like around 3-4 years old maximum... But according to actual character age it would be Jia at the moment, my Illusion Spirit Xiao Ji, who unfortunately has no body so far, his character is about 23... XD

v Do you have a BJD with any special modifications? May it be simple eye or ear modifications or anything bigger?

 

^ I do...I have several eye mods in my group, and then one with an eye and mouth mod, one with a mouth mod, two with gore mods on the whole face and a few with other face-shape changing mods. Lots of mods in my group.

> I'm excited to order a new doll! I almost forgot how.

V What kind of expression do you prefer your dolls to have?

 

^ I am totally in love with grumpy or sly expressions. I have a thing for moody characters in general.

< Why is it snowing?! It is April! No more please!!

v Do your dolls have a certain style or theme to them, or are they all fairly random?

 

^ I tend to gravitate towards fantasy style for the dolls themselves (four have elf ears, two have magnets for fantasy parts, two glow in the dark, one is blue, etc.), and they're all female so far, but other than that they're pretty eclectic. For clothes, they all tend to be on the feminine side but within that can range from casual to formal to fantasy.

< I have so many doll projects in mind but never seem to find time to work on them.

v Have you ever felt conflicted because you saw a doll that's not really your style (too big, too fancy, too edgy, whatever) and yet for some reason you find yourself wanting it anyway? What did you end up doing about it?

 

^ Most of the time its maintenance or taking them out for photos.

< 47 days until the Doll North Market. I really REALLY hope i can last until then. Probably not though.

v What are your most expensive and least expensive dolls?

 

^ My cheapest was around 250. She's was a limited tiny. And what will probably be my priciest, the one I am currently trying to buy, is a hybrid that should come out to a little over 700. Unless the other doll I have planned comes out to more. I hope not.

v Which doll do you like to take out with you?

 

^ In the last three years (maybe two-and-a-half), John. He is my current go-to. if only his stupid long legs weren't a huge PITA

> I don't care that his legs are too long for any carrier he's still my favorite.

V Have you ever seen a real actual human who looks like your doll? (or your dolls character?)

^ not exactly as most of my dolls are not realistic sculpts. On the other hand, I just need to travel by bus anywhere to find beautiful and interesting faces/heads that could be made into beautiful and interesting sculpts. I wish I knew a bit more about sculpting than I do. I would probably take me about 10 years to reach an acceptable level if I started now!

< All that talk about sculpting...I want good weather NOW!

v your BJD is gifted with a cockerel, what does he/she do with it?

 

^ He probably runs away and screams xD

v Have you ever tried to bite your doll's head because he/she is so adorable that you cannot resist it?

 

^ No, though I have been sorely tempted to kiss the tops of their heads.

v Have your eye on any sculpts? Just looking, or close to buying?

 

^ dollshe’s adonis. I love him so much, but I can’t deal with a year wait, like I’d expect at this point from dollshe. My Bernard is perfect, and has the nicest resin in my crew (honey resin) but I’m just not patient enough... doll chateau, on the other hand, is tempting me (a body for my Zenobia and my Raymond, possibly just breaking down and buying a Kevin...) even though their wait is six months or more, they’re upfront about it, and I don’t mind that, cause I can plan for that.

V any sculpts you’re looking at?

 

^ I have my eyes on Bambicrony Vanilla. Such a lovely face!

< I will go to Toy Expo next month and get a "Panguin" from the H-Nest

v Do you like carrying your doll around when you go out, like, travel?

 

^ Actually... No. I am really scared of taking them with me... Though I am considering bringing my little bunny to work some time soon. Just for fun. But I am too worried that something happens to them... ;o;" (I am slowly getting over this now though after moving and being to a meetup ^-^)

< No dolly stuff made in days... I feel so empty...

v What was the craziest place you took your doll to?

 

^ I took her to a caravan park holiday. I wouldn't call it crazy and I didn't take her out with me on the beach. I thoroughly enjoyed having her with me, making her clothes and not having to worry about anything for a while.

< I loooooove my DC Amos. He is so pretty and elegant.

V It is night time, and there is only one bulb working in the whole house. What does your BJD do?

 

^ They would probably break the bulb and immerse the house in darkness, then torment me by putting lego everywhere.

< why is it that when i am looking to buy bodies for my floating heads, there aren't any good deals, and then the moment I say "I need to save up for conventions" a million good deals pop up on the market? Its a test of my will, i swear!

v Does your doll have any items that are specific for them, like a ring or necklace, or a special prop?

 

^ my minifee has 2 leather bracelets and my 5th Motif has 2 basic necklaces. They are not used much as I keep forgetting I have them. I am planning to make bracelets for my boy as soon as I deal with making him shoes and his own jewelry box. I'll probably do the same for my minifee. I hope I can remember where I put her bracelets.

< It's sunny and the bumblebees are out! Yay, for good weather!

V which set of clothes or piece of clothes/accessories/shoes you've created for your boy/girl/other that you are most proud of to this day?

 

^ I made a full set of armor and weapons for one of my doll (except shoes).

<Now I urgently need to make one more for the newly arrived boy. And I'm trying to figure out exactly what it should look like.

v Do you have dolls of different sizes and do you make pictures of them together?

 

^ Steampunk. It is such a wide 'genre', that it can be twisted any weird way and still look good.

< PHew! Summer temperatures. I wish I was on the seaside. Time to buy ice cream...and salads, obviously .

V If there was one skill you'd love to master to improve your BJDs' look this year, what would it be?

 

^ Faceups. I have too many blank dolls.

v Which one of your dolls is the most like you? In what way?

 

^ my minifee Luka. She looks as fit and boyish as I was in my twenties.

V Of all the scented flowers in the world, which one pleases your boy/girl the most?

 

^Annabelle's a big fan of lavender! AJ brings her some when he can find it, he's a good boy

v What's a style of clothes your doll doesn't wear but would consider?

 

^ Aoi doesn't wear anything steampunk-ish (if you don't count his necklace). But he'd definitely consider if it wouldn't be so not practical at all (that's his opinion about steampunk clothes, that they often look like you can't move well in them... and he'd hate that...)

< My teacher at school told me to bring my bjd next week because he's curious... OMG... Reito and Synti will see my school!!!

v How do you prepare your dolls for a journey, may it be a short one or a really long holiday trip?

 

^For short hops to a meet, in a wagon with facecovers. Long haul like evacuating due to hurricanes in several very large suitcases, blankets and facecovers.

< Whatever pollen is destroying my head and lungs, stop go away, I don't like it.

v Does 'spring fever' mean allergies or love abloom to you dolls.

 

^ John has allergies. Because if i have to suffer so should he XD
He's the only one that does.

> I need to do a lot of things and I don't want to do any of them.

V What is the longest break you've ever taken from your dolls?

 

^ A couple of years. I was in a bad roommate situation and a bad work situation, and wasn't doing much (especially since anything that wasn't immediately picked up was "you leave things out all the time and never clean up!" to those roommates).

< Got my HaoQi bags! I'm waiting to open them to finish moving, though. They'll be a nice treat after that.

v What doll thing are you next looking forward to?

 

^ Everything to actually get here, haha! I'm currently waiting on a head for a face-up, another head from the company with a face-up, a pair of eyes, and DDS Sailor Moon. We also have a big meet-up coming up May 6th so I hope at least a few of them arrive.

<I have such a huge crush on this guy in my office. Womps!

v Do you like to hybrid your dolls, or prefer them with original bodies?

 

^ Hybrids! Probably 90% of my dolls are hybrids. I have an easier time naming the ones that aren't because the list is much shorter.

Work projects, not personal ones. That list is out of control.

V Anyone waiting on any doll things or actual dolls right now?

 

^ I was afraid of hybrids first, but when i tried it out the first time I was completely on fire! It’s actually pretty fun, and opens new options to customize your doll getting closer to what you want it to look like.

> I am SUPER hungry right now, but also the need of making a FU for my new doll is too damn high

V did you ever sell a doll? If yes, do you feel regrets or was it hard for you to sell it?

 

^ i've sold maaaaaany dolls. Like 30 or so. I regret a few, but most no.

< I love only shopping so much that even looking up used ovens is fun to me!

v have you ever regretted buying a doll?

 

^ Yes, Dollshe Arsene, waited 54 weeks for him and didn't like the body at all.Sold it.

v Is there a doll you regret not getting?

 

^ I wish I had snapped up an LLT Lazuli when I had the chance. I saw the news for the last sale and everything, but I was new and want interested at the time. I don't like it enough to pay secondhand prices though.

v What regrets do your dolls have?

 

^ They regret living with me and being my inspiration for stories. I quite enjoy causing them havoc.

< I am spending most of the day tomorrow sleeping, then working on stories and photos. Yay!

v If you could design a doll for a company, what kind of physical traits would you give it?

 

^ An adult chubby, SD male. There are ZERO on the market, and while I don't personally want one, I know people that do.

v What was/is your most ambitious character plan?

 

^ All of my characters are supposed to have fantasy armor & weapons. I know how to model in 3D so I've thought about sculpting them & 3D printing. I'm just a bit rusty!

< So I've bought two full dolls so far this year and we aren't even halfway through. Oops!!

v What character do you want a doll of the most?

 

^ Honestly, I have all my "must have" characters already! About all I have left that I'd really want are a "new" "big" Ed Elric and Jace Beleren, but that's dependent on FairyLand putting F60 boys back on sale again, and putting back all the classic sculpts (because I won't compromise on what sculpts I want for them). Since I'm not at all confident they'll do all of that, I'll stay content for now with the current dolls I have.

Though if money and time were no object, oh boy are there characters I would make! But as far as ones I want to invest my finite resources in, I have them already.

< I'm really hoping I can get replacement parts for the damaged doll I just got in... she'd be a perfect avatar of my first ever pet cat, if I can get her fixed up.

v Spring is finally springing in my home state! What's your doll's favorite part of spring? Or if they hate it, why?

 

^ Im gathering up, and organizing all of the things I need to sell and clear out. Then I’m looking at what I have left over, and re-planning them. From there, I’ll maybe get a few new boys off my list. Who knows? I’ve been trying to do this for the last 5 years and everything has been sitting in a closet waiting for me to get to it. XD

< I did not get enough sleep.

v what’s the longest you’ve ever taken to get to a Dolly project?

 

^ Uhhh... Too long. If we're talking having the pieces and just not getting around to them, I have Renigauld who's been in pieces for over two/three years now? But I also have the Pawn Shop for Amadeus, which has been in planning stages for two years, and Leopold with buying his body took four years... And Baranos who is still in need of simply a faceup after almost a year now... Some projects I jump on and complete in record time, some I shrug my shoulders at and chip at here and there? It's a toss up.

< Sleep is overrated (I am about to not get enough sleep as well).

v Are your dolls early birds, night owls, or just eternally sleep deprived pigeons?

 

^ Most are night owls like me, though I do have a few early risers. Marcus is a druid and he wakes up at first bird song. Blake gets up early because he loves to do stuff he's not supposed to do while his big brother, Rog, sleeps in. Rog is the bartender at the Pub. The vampires and Pub crowd are night owls.

< I want spring to stick around for a while, I don't want to jump straight into summer. South Texas summer's are hot even on the coast. Thank goodness for our coastal breezes.

v Do your characters eat breakfast or do they skip it?

 

^ John can barely make his brain work when he wakes up, anything other than coffee is beyond his capabilities. Even that would be rough if it wasn't just pushing a button.

> I want to sculpt a head. Or work on eyes. or anything. I am lacking time in a huge way.

V Are you procrastinating any doll projects right now? What are they?

 

^ I do... Aoi needs a bath as well as clothes, eyes.... And shoes...!!! So basically he is my whole big project at the moment I always skip working on... I am just too bothered with so much other stuff......

< Lays in bed instead of doing dolly stuff... but at least I play with dear Reito a lot lately! *-*

v Your doll's character dies and stands in front of the pathway to heaven or hell. Where are they send to and why?

 

^ All the demons, half-demons, and the Judge of Hell, have one foot in hell anyway, but for demons it's home. The other's would go to Heaven, Valhalla or are reincarnated for dealing with all the mess those guys make. Not sure where the vampires will go but they don't kill for blood, so there is that, besides they didn't ask to be vampires.

< I want to sit outside and read again. Yesterday was nice but it's a bit crispy this morning.

v Do you leave your dolls out or pack them away when not 'playing' with them?

 

^ I tend to pack them away. I'm trying to be conscious of yellowing, and I have a very mischievous cat. I'm afraid she might knock them over if I left them out.

< Ugh, I want a nap already!

v How well do you deal with waiting on a doll? :P

 

^ Pretty much forget I've ordered it until it shows up.

^ DC Hubery. I can technically still get him, but for how long?

v if your doll has a job, how do they choose to unwind from it?

 

^ Yumiko does calligraphy as a hobby, and Lin's been doing karate since he was five. Nothing relieves frustration like punching imaginary enemies in the face!

< I've got a head and several other doll related things I should put some effort into selling. I haven't even put two of them on the Marketplace yet. I also should put more effort into trying to find a better job.

V Do any of your dolls' characters have jobs? What do they do?

 

^ Equinox and Drake run the Pointless Pub and Pointless Lore a ghost hunter company. Rog is a bartender at the Pub. Odom is the Judge of Hell, Kise is a fortune teller. Julian, Blue and Hunter are in a band called R3S1N8. Pathfinder and Dallas are in the business of finding lost stuff. Baileyana, Nimbus, Nugget and Blue Poppy are in the Curious Twilight Bazaar/Show.

v Do your doll characters have any interest in the supernatural?

 

^ In the case of my human dolls, only my newest girl is interested in the supernatural stuff. She believes in human transmitting feelings and energies to things (creating ghosts) and hopes she sees an ovni or something like that someday. My non-human dolls have close contact with their worlds' gods and perform tasks for them so they are truly believers.

< I'm just so excited about starting to work on my latest doll. This doll is the first one I'm going to work a lot on by making her tattoos, wig and everything.

v If your doll had a very important photo/picture in their nightstand, what would be in that photo/picture?

 

^ It would probably be a group photo of all of them (Elliot, Ollie, Ji-han, Ingrid, and Gobbie) as they are closest to each other, though Elliot might have one of just Ollie.

> I only have to wait a day and a half for the ordering period to open up, but I've been waiting for so long before this it feels like it is stretching out forever! At least now I have a month with a room to myself to do dollie stuff.

v Anything you are impatiently waiting for dollie-wise?

 

^ Yes! My funds to be high enough to order new resin! *o*

< Why did I agree that my boss can take both saturday and tuesday off, having a 4 days weekend, while I would need to do dolly stuff and sit here doing nothing...?

v Next big dolly project you're having in mind/planning at the moment? Maybe it's already in work?

 

^ Well my life is finally back to being mine again (I've literally been too busy for anything at all) so I am going to get my eye stuff back out and continue trying to make eyes. Also I want to start making my own head.
I have like, 15 blank dolls that need work too I guess D:

V Have you discovered a limited doll that you just had to have at the end of it's order period? What did you do?

^ Yes, Soom Picro/Sammi, which I loved for my water elemental in my fairy group, and which was released during my hobby break. Luckily, Soom does their FCS rereleases, so I kept careful watch until that sculpt came up, and grabbed one then!

< My shelves are set up again! Now to figure out how to access the dolls themselves and get them on the shelves... (sigh, phone, don't post early...)

v What do you want to do with your dolls this week?

 

^ Faceups, finally! I managed to lose my sealant, but now it is found I can get to work.
