My F60Nanury14 thinks Han Yeo-jin's character is cute and he can relate to Hwang Shi-mok's inner workings. My Dollzone Gray always sides with his elfish brother because, however different in personalities and looks, they are very fond of each other. The rest lets it go because they are not so much into TV series and the 2 boys' choices are often interesting.

V What BJD related skill would you like to improve on? Have you done a trial run?

 

^ Making eyes, I would like to learn how! Unfortunately I have taken too much on my plate outside of doll things and wont be sitting down to figure out methods and materials any time soon...

< My Altis is finally paid off! And now I get to see how well I can stick to the rule of 'No More Dolls Until 2020' to give myself time to get everyone face upped, re-face upped, and finished (including finding or making boots for my Vito boy) so that when I finally do get a new doll in 2020 I can start on them right away.

v Do you have any rules or schedules you try and get yourself to follow when buying dolls or accessories?

 

^ I've restricted myself to buying only for the doll I have at home. Dolls that are on their way don't get nice things xD I also tend to get just one thing at a time to make it easier on my budget and use/make things I have at home before buying.

< I wish my workplace would get the payroll sorted out so I know when to expect a paycheck. Trying to figure out when/how all the bills are getting paid is annoying and takes time away from planning fun things. Like buying doll stuff...

v Do you generally buy a doll for a character that already exists, or buy a doll to create a character from it?

 

^ I've gone both ways. Sometimes I fall for a sculpt and make a character later, while most of the dolls currently on my profile page were characters first.

v A variant on the character question. Some of my dolls have paragraphs worth of backstory, others have a sentence or two. What about your doll characters?

 

^ My dolls have a small group back story, each character has about a paragraph. I don't make my doll characters too detailed, I find it takes away from my enjoyment of them.

v do any of your dolls characters collect anything?

 

^ not in my current crew, but one doll I had on my wishlist for a while will be a doll collector! I plan to get a merrydollround fang for her, or another doll of similar size. I also own mini MLPs for the purpose of being doll props, but haven't figured out who will own them yet.

^ Elliot collects books. Mostly classics. Well, he's supposed to, I need to actually make the props though.

v What dolly item have you been the most impatient for?

 

^ yes, it did work as I nailed a diploma...which is not helping me at all . Anyway, such is life. My job is on the path to extinction. Time to move on.

V Another beautiful day, another morning, what is the first thing your BJD does to welcome the new dawn, the new day?

 

^ John works nights and chances are he has yet to actually go to sleep and might, if he's lucky, be getting ready for bed by dawn.

V do you have any Halloween-related doll projects on the table right now?

 

^ I'm seriously thinking of making another skull tattoo head this time an MSD size. If the weather cooperates I should have him done by Halloween. ROT was my SD skull tattoo guy.

< Seriously need some good weather soon, it's finally feeling like fall and the trees are turning brown and yellow.

V Halloween tricks or treats your doll would like or do.

 

^ Not sure what ' tricks or treats' covers.
My 2 boys would love to spend the night in the middle of the Tumbled Forest, dressed in Halloween Outfits, around a blazing fire, eating improved camp food. With lots of talking, reminiscing, planning for further adventures, dream sharing etc.. Then drag themselves home for a well-earned rest.
Unfortunately, this would involve the participation of an 'Higher Elf', namely their sister F65 Chloe, as nasty beings tend to avoid meeting Higher Elves and the landscape seems to have enough respect for them to agree to stay stable for a while. This would, in turn, involves the whole family because, well, Higher Elves tend to go to 'fun places', full of excitements and daring-do.

As a result, my F60Nanuri14 thinks a one-off job as a courier could be a good alternative. My Dollzone Gray ain't so sure because you cannot pick your journey and, sometimes, you are landed with travelling companions you'd rather not meet at a 'tree-corner'. He'd rather have Halloween without the Scare. So, Event headache on-going...

^ The Acers are turning orange! Autumn is here! Now, do I buy that boy or don't I? He is cheaper than Altis and comes in a taller size ( ), and in tan ( ). They look like they are planning for an even taller boy (and girl!) sometimes in the future... but will he be as good as this shorter boy? ... ....

< Which Halloween costumes your BJDs have, versus the Halloween costumes they would love to have... what is on your BJDs' wish list?

 

^ My dolls don't have any costumes unfortunately but Reito would love to get some were-fox outfit (he's more of a fox than a wolf XD)
Aoi would be an awesome vampire or a grim reaper. And Synti, being the cutie she is, would want to be something adorable. Maybe a cute little bat kigurumi as a costume for her =D

v Who of your dolls would be most likely to go "trick or treat"ing? What'd they do if someone does not give them treats? O.O

 

^ All of my tinies are young children, so I'm sure they'd enjoy shaking down people for candy. Unfortunately, most of them are some level of creepy, and another has a cane to poke people with. It's best not to cross them.

V If your doll(s) aren't into Halloween, how do they celebrate the autumn?

 

^ my dolls do like Halloween, but nothing scary, so its more the harvest decor they like and they like to watch cute movies like Halloween town and hocus pocus!

v what would be your dolls ideal autumn day?

 

^ My dolls have jobs and none of them are 9-5, so no matter what day it is, they're probably working.

V I can't stay away from Halloween questions they are all consuming - So if you do dress your dolls for Halloween, do you dress them as they would want to be dressed (their character) or do you put them in what you want to dress them in, regardless of character?

 

^ Tracking, tracking anything. My F65 Chloe can track anything, anybody, any animals, any weird events/manifestations, each time she puts her mind to it. Once, she tracked rainbows for days and was seen back at the family site months later. Ghostly apparitions are her favourites. She has been known to track a particularly malicious being that took pleasure in creating havoc and got him shackled to a pirate boat's mast in the middle of the longest and most terrifying sea storm ever. Once released, he quickly disappeared and was never seen again.

< Okay, rice cakes with chocolate and water to wash them down. It could be worse.

V If your BJD had to choose the most terrifying site/place ever, what would he/she choose? If it can be found on Google map or any earthly map for that matter, please feel free to share it with us .

 

^ Elliot would choose a stage in front of a massive crowd. Just the idea makes him want to crawl under the covers.

v What is your dolls worst nightmare?

 

^ My bjd character Bloodbank would say thinking about the lab where he was transformed into a cyborg. Although he would have died if he hadn't undergone the transformation, it still frightens him, even more than being a bloodbank for vampires. He has developed feelings for the vampires remaining in the den under the Pointless Pub.

< I have to think about lunch too. Ugh.

v More Halloween stuff, what would be your dolls most wanted costume (that you may not be able to afford)?

 

^ My dolls ideal costumes would probably be full Harry Potter uniforms, or maybe really fancy dress wear, like ball gowns and suits. Basically very detailed and therefore very expensive!

< did my writing for the day, now to watch new Doctor Who!

v What would be your dolls favorite TV show?

 

^ Emie would like anything on Animal Planet or Discovery. Especially if it's a show about prey animals.

v What is your BJD(s) most afraid of?

 

^ that, one day, all the rivers of his world stop flowing.
A long time ago, when he was still a young Wood Elf, he went camping near a rocky crop that enclosed a source.
It went well for a while. Then one early morning, he went to fetch water in preparation for the arrival of one of his Humany brothers. The source had dried and there wasn't any other at less than a day's walk. He still remember his shock at such reversal of fortune, and his distress at seeing surrounding plants slowly wilting.
Since then, he documents every dry source he comes across and keeps a singing log with other elves. It is so useful that it is the most sung of all living ballads.

V If your BJD was used in a painting/sculpture to represent a personality trait, which one would be allocated to him?

 

^ Ruthie would be 'childish glee'. Carrie, probably 'daydreamer'.

< The dogs have curled up in the crate near me instead of the warmer livingroom. Bugger soup needing a table to eat safely...

V Which doll is your Daredevil / Klutz (aka The One Who Jumps Off everything)?

 

^ Ollie, 100%. Gobbie is also that in a way, but that is more because f not understanding social norms and being used to having to scrounge and fight to survive than liking adventure.

v How do your dolls look right now? Bonus points for pictures!

 

^ headless and packed in a pink pin for moving! Unfortunately the camera is packed too!

< its so cold and all I want to do is watch Christmas movies!

v what would be your dolls favorite movies?

 

^ they don't really have any. It is a big family to boot, which means it is difficult to sit down to a movie, what with the smaller folks and the taller ones, and the world regularly deciding to shake things up a bit.

V If your dolls had to do an haunting, what would they haunt?

 

^ Kokiden's character is actually deceased, and her doll form is her manifested spirit. She doesn't have a specific thing/place she haunts, but she does like hanging out in her father's household, as long as her parents and remaining sibling stayed there. As for the rest of my shelled characters, Adhara and her unnamed mother are spirit-like beings to begin with (who are not bound to a particular haunt and could travel far and wide if they so chose). Guórén, my only 100% human character, will probably end up haunting the weaponry he uses for his police work. I don't see that happening story-wise though, as he goes where Adhara goes.

v Have you ever attempted to take a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test (or ANY similar personality test) for your dolls' characters? If so, how did the results turn out?

 

^I have! Adrian is ENFJ, Riley is INFP, and Minsu is INTJ.

< I hope I'm not sick again tomorrow. I hate using up all my sick leave from work. Maybe I can take this time to sew something for Riley though...

v Care to share some of those obscure details about your dolls characters that don't get brought up much?

 

^ I spent a good bit of time looking for these, so...

Ji-han: ISTJ
Elliot: INTP (like me, oops)
Ollie: ESFP
Ingrid: ISFJ
Gobbie: Probably an ISTP? I didn't actually take the test, I admit, but with her being unintelligible, she is the hardest to pin down because that messes up her interactions with the others, so it is hard to see how they bounce off of each other.

Anywho, Ingrid doesn't like wearing pants, Ji-han is sensitive about his height, Gobbie has a little nest in the house somewhere (or will anyhow), Ollie has this skin condition, and Elliot likes to sneak alcohol when he can.

v Which of your dolls is the most unusual?

 

^ I don't know that any of my dolls are unusual exactly, but on a whim I searched #ringdollk on instagram last night, and John is pretty unusual for a K lol.

V How different or alike are the dolls in your collection? Do they look like a cohesive collection belonging to the same person? Or a bunch of misfits?

 

^ SO MANY
-I have two original character "worlds" - the main one that most of my dolls belong to (that includes John and/or Alex and sometimes Uriel as the main characters), and another very small one with a few of my mature minis. I have moved most of them on, but there are three I can't bear to part with so they're still clinging to their universe.

-Then I have the DC dolls who exist in the DC universe.
"Eric" my Ringdoll Raven is kind of a floater since one of the other dolls is also him, and he hangs out with John a lot (only if I write/draw my characters, he doesn't exist. They're only "friends" as dolls)

-Then I have a bunch of singles who don't belong anywhere: Link (Zelda), Harry and Bob (Dresden Series), A.X.L. Pendergast (Pendergast series), Moon Knight (Marvel), Marilyn Manson (uh.), Manji (Blade of the Immortal - he's loaned out his body currently, but someday he'll get it back), Professor Quirrell/Voldemort (ok, he's on the way, but ordered and still counts - Harry Potter) -- I don't plan on getting any other characters from any of these "worlds" so they're all loners forever.

V I'mma pass that along: What world(s) do your dolls belong to?

 

^ They all belong to the real world-ish. You see, There are two layers of reality. One where dolls are alive, and one where they are not. And my dolls occasionally use the space in-between to manipulate reality, though that can be pretty unreliable. So yeah, long story short, they are dolls, but they can occasionally break the fourth wall.

v Do any of your dolls have creative pursuits?

 

^ my current crew do like art and drawing, my characters for future dolls have the more artistic pursuits, including music and photography!

v if your dolls had to switch jobs with you for a day how would they cope being in your shoes?

 

^ Depends on which job it was, I'm retired now but working backward in time: The aliens Azure and Thorne would have loved to work with Astronauts/Cosmonauts and our planet's primitive space program (perhaps made some improvements?). The elves and Marcus the druid would have loved traveling the country, walking the woods and fields, and working along side the Seismic Crews I once supervised. Finally Ash is a graphic artist and draftsperson so he basically has my first job. The others act like they are retired goofing around most of the day.

< It's so nice and fall like right now too bad we are going to have summer back for a few days.

v Swiping an earlier question: Which of your dolls is the most unusual?

 

^ my Doll Chateau Kid Amos. He is all round lovely. He is a trial to sew for though, and I am not happy with the wig he has. I need to make him one that takes his antlers into account.

< I like Tamikan Space. It is a pity the dolls are so small. 'Nope!' says my purse.

V Which unusual sculpts/BJDs is holding your attention right now?

 

^ Guess the most unusual sculpt I am currently (still) looking at over and over again is DollPamm's Tirka... I love how she looks but she just won't fit my collection... But if I ever - ever - get the chance to see one or own one I'd jump on her in an instant! *o*

^ Alas, my sole anthro doll is off-topic. I think DollZone Tit is adorable, though her sole concession to being an anthro is cat ears. Maybe someday I'll bring her home...

v If your dolls were real people, would they be friends, enemies, or neither?

 

^ my dolls would definitely be friends!! They're friends in their story and they would be in real life too, I even think I'd be their friend! Hahaha~

< may the Christmas time commence!! Officially November means its official Christmas time!

v do your dolls like Christmas as a holiday? Would they celebrate it?

 

^Adrian freaking loves Christmas, he goes all out. Min isn't Christian so he only celebrates Christmas because Adrian is so into it, and Riley is a witch who celebrates Yule.

<Speaking of Christmas and holiday season, I'm gonna a wait and hope that Loong Soul is doing a holiday event so I can (finally) order Min his body then.

v Keeping in the holiday theme, what is your doll's favorite holiday themed activity if they celebrate anything? (doesn't have to be Christmas or even winter holiday related, just any holiday)

 

^I would say that the bunny onesie I originally created for a Halloween costume has become an "every occasion/holiday" outfit for my doll Claire, she always looks good in it, even though she has nicer clothes

<I kinda want to make more onesies now, maybe a dinosaur would be cute

v Is there any company who's holiday events really get you? (either in you must purchase something or you just love the aesthetic)

 

^ yuuki likes to walk, all her hangouts are close to home so she prefers walking. As do most of my characters! Saving energy and the environment! Haha!

< feeling rather sick today, and a bit emotional. Oh dear...

v what would your dolls do if they got sick? How would your other dolls care for them?

 

^ Elliot would be grouchy and just sit in the corner with the phone or a book. So, not much different than usual. Ollie would be trying to fuss over him and he would keep trying to tell her he doesn't need anything, to no avail. Ji-han would simply get him some medicine and food.
Ollie would be annoyed she can't do as much as she wants. She would still try to run around as much as her sickness allowed, the idea of just laying in bed is so boring for her. Ji-han would try to get her to calm down and get the rest she needs. Elliot would seem indifferent at first, but he would set up near her. And Gobbie would stay in bed with her, while trying to get her to eat some strange concoction.
Ji-han would act like he was not sick, and at first, the others would probably fall for it. But after enough sickly behavior, Ollie and Elliot would both force him to bed. He would still try to direct his own care though.
Gobbie would hide. She is not used to anyone fussing over her, and sickness is an dangerous opening for any attacker. She would simply vanish and reappear once she was better.

> Cancelling that test is a load off. Shame I basically threw a bunch of money in the trash.

v How would your doll react if they had to call customer service?

 

^ First, they would have to understand why they should call customer service, they are an able bodied group and can walk to the maker's place to ask him/her to fix his/her shoddy work if necessary. Secondly, if the travelling was too much, they wouldn't be bothered and would try to fix the problem themselves as tinkering is very much part of their lives. If it didn't work, they would have a family meeting and decide who to send where to get the knowledge to fix it.

< I am not especially thrilled to sew for my Newkiru. She is beautiful but why do her arms keep sliding behind her back and her legs keep getting into awkward positions? She is heavy but I wouldn't call her loose. I hope thicker strings will fix the problems. She is so annoying to handle at the moment.

V Your doll has been invited to a 'get together' in the darkest part of the graveyard. Which precautions does she/he take before turning up?

 

^Drake wouldn't go at all, period. Everyone-else who belongs to Pointless Lore would go in a heartbeat, because having two ghosts and a demon on the team they would feel ready for anything. Drake just doesn't like graveyards, he's seen too many.

< The eyes are here, I just wish my Vindoll head was here too. Stupid new couriers demanding money when it never happened before.

V Do any of your dolls have a fear of ghosts/spirits/oni?

 

^ Since they are either yokai (or similar creatures) themselves or work at a secret organisation hunting 'evil' supernatural beings most of them aren't scared at all! But Synti (being a demon born from sins and evil inflicted on an innocent boy) is basically scared of any 'creepy' thing since she's so child-like. ^-^"

< I am so down lately... Why? I thought it all would get better once my girl is here...

v Your character is seeing a poor old man on the street begging for a bit of money. What do they do?

 

^ This is a bit of a problem. If they are on the Human side of Earth, they are likely to ask him what the money is for. They don't have much in regards to Human currencies and, if they can provide him with what he needs instead of giving him what they don't have much of, they will help. If they cannot, they'll see if they can give him something he can sell on or make use of.

< I am not enjoying making clothes for her. . Should I try creating some accessories in between? Would that help? Should I get that brand new jewellery kit out? I don't know what to do .

V Your doll has the urge to fix something, ANYTHING! To satisfy this urge, what does he/she get up to?

 

^ Yuuki would make something yummy then watch her favorite movies to unwind from life. Fluke would probably draw or knit. Both of them love to walk the city they live in as well!

< Feeling okay, just gotta keep moving forward.

v continuing the question, what would your doll do to unwind after a long day?

 

^ John is a runner - more for mental health than physical - so he'd run. Other things he might do are mindless tasks like playing with pointless magic (bubbles or glitter bombs), cleaning his guns, shower, or if it's really been a bad day, sit in the empty bathtub under a blanket (it's better not to ask) or crawl into bed (which is a chair) and scream into pillows. He doesn't own a tv or food, really, so these are his options.

V what is your doll's favorite time of the year?

 

^ Normally autumn but down here on the Texas Gulf coast we seemed to have skipped it for some reason. It bounces back and forth between summer heat and winter cold the only fall like thing we are having is falling leaves. So everyone here is totally bummed out, they are tired of summer and don't like winter. Only thing to look forward to are the holidays.

< The pecan crop was sparse this year so I don't see a reason to go looking for the few that fell, besides the behemoth marsh mosquitoes are guarding them.

< What holidays does your doll(s) like?

 

^ I'm planning on re-doing the kit dollhouse I made for one of my Real Pukis. Problem is I have to buy the kit again. I should go see what I can re-use from my first version.

< The dolls and I will be moving at the end of the year, maybe I should find a way to pack the props for that house...

V Do you have house or rooms for your dolls?

 

^ I wish I did, but I don't have enough space at the moment. Maybe someday, though!

< I finally got a new can of sealant, but it's been cold and rainy so I can't do any faceups yet. Aaargh.

v Do your dolls have cozy winter outfits?

 

^ Yes and no. Most have pullovers or/and hoods, though one still needs trousers, one needs boots or warm shoes, most of them need warm hats and scarves, none have gloves, and only one has a warm coat thought it is not water proof. I still have a lot to make. I have planned to reduce my stash so I often get sidetracked with dresses and t-shirts .

< 'Right, after dealing with these dresses, I'll find whether I have the material for the winter hat or not, then I'll deal with the wig problem. Hang on, what about her leggings and trousers? *head desk*

V Do you have a doll that particularly tests your patience?
