^ Hmm... All my characters are kind of in the middle. Being alone is great sometimes, but it's also nice to have people around to talk to and hang out with other times, and all my characters kind of subscribe to this. Ilya and Lacey are generally my "people-persons" though, while Aelic likes a little more time alone with his books. Toshi is truly in the middle; it's not that he doesn't care if he's alone or not, he'll just make the best of the situation either way and be perfectly happy with it. (As long as he likes the person he's with.)

v Is your doll/character patient? (Or do they really need to cool their jets at every turn?)

 

^ Leila is definitely not patient, not at first. She's more anxious than a hothead, though.

< I'm having a lot of fun looking up sewing tutorials and the like.

V Do you stick to dolls that have more standard sizing or do you have dolls that are impossible to fit into anything?

 

^ I have nYID boys and a Souldoll Vito. Enough said lol. Actually, most of my dolls are hard to shop for, because the dolls I like also happen to be weird sizes.

< ...aaaaand still no clients! Four appointments, four no-shows that didn't call to cancel ahead of time.

V What is your favourite thing to buy for your dolls (wigs, eyes, clothes, shoes, accessories, etc.)?

 

^ Clothes and occasionally accessories. I tend to make everything else on my own.

< I like when I'm working on a very important custom wig order and I end up gluing my fingers together

v Have you ever tried making eyes for your doll?

 

^ no but I'd really like to in the future! I'm just so lazy OTL

< unpopular opinion: I hate summer

v if you could master only one skill pertaining dolls, which one would you pick? (ex: wig making, faceups, seamstress, etc.)

 

^ Ooh, that's so hard. I think painting face-ups, though. I do think it's a bit harder to enterprise that since you're interactions are so much more involved, but I'd love to paint them as beautifully as some of the other artists.

< I also hate summer, though it's much more pleasant in Chicago than in the South!

^ Sewing, I guess. I'm a complete DIY person so one skill only feels like "OH NO what can I DOOO", but if I had to pick just one, I'd stick with sewing.

< Spontaneously drove 500km to check out a location for a Larp con next year. Now my back hurts. Totally worth it.

v Is your doll a spontaneous person? If so, what sort of crazy stuff would they do?

 

^ Ollie is. She wants to explore outside the house and use swords and play with fire and go swimming. Not super crazy, but a bit dangerous for a doll. Also, she is the sort of person that would run up to every stranger that they see without a twinge of fear. The others are much more deliberate.

v Do you have a doll that doesn't fit in with the rest of your collection? What makes it different and why did you get it?

 

^ Right now, I guess Lacey (Dollits Miso) would be my outlier. She's my only girl, and my first slim MSD. Plus her story isn't wrapped up in with any of my other stories, so she doesn't fit with the rest of my guys. That's fine with me though...she's not even here yet and I already love her. She's just so expressive and happy, and I was getting tired of having to scrounge for casual boy clothes. It was time for a girl in the family!

< Speaking of... I need to get together a list of what I want to get for Lacey's first outfit. I'd prefer not or order from more than one Etsy shop, but...I think it's gonna be unavoidable. Oh well.

v I like this question, so I'm passing it on: Do you have a doll that doesn't fit in with the rest of your collection? What makes it different and why did you get it?

 

^ At home, not really. I do have some sculpts that are more or less realistic than others, but I've finally managed to come up with a story where all my dolls' characters can fit together, so I'm not terribly worried about their aesthetics.
But I have a tiny (16cm) on the way who won't fit into the story at all. But he's super adorable so I really don't care. =P He'll just be my little purse buddy...or would be if I regularly carried a purse

v What's your doll('s character)'s favourite season?

 

^ shaylee definitely loves spring when it's the beginning of new life

v who is the mother hen in your resin group?

 

^ Well, of the dolls I actually have, that'd be Aelic. But he's more...a chill mom, I guess. Like he'll watch out for his friends, but kind of from the background. And with lots of slyly sarcastic humor. (Nikos [Ilya's brother] is the real group mom, but I don't have him in resin yet.)

v If you had to get a doll in a fantasy color (nothing remotely resembling human skin), what color would you choose and why? Would you have a character in mind?

 

^ I'd think maybe a light violet or blue to make an alien-type character. I LOVE alien characters.

< I need to tie my hands behind my back so I don't spend all my money on a Luciwen

v What's the most you would pay for a quality faceup?

 

^ I'm total cheapskate xD But for a good faceup? Well... I'm thinking about something around 150$... But this could be my limit. I need to live from something. For now was the most something around 15$. And only because it was made by my friend.

< I have to go to work... and I have shift with HER again. Well... maybe that is the reason I'm feeling sick. I won't be able to handle more shifts like this. Till the end of the month we have one more shift together... Was I a bad girl to deserve this punishment? TT_TT

v If your character yould be a mystical creature, what would they be? And if they already are, would they want to be something else?

 

^ Tyler would probably want to be pegasus because FLYING HORSE ftw. Being a demon, I suppose Aubrey is already a "mystical creature". He's okay as he is, but he'd like to be human. Reid would be a Phoenix because what's more badass than a creature that goes out in a giant fireball and is subsequently reborn? Noé would be something graceful and mysterious, like a ghost.

< hnnng.... Okay, I'm still seething over the fact that I've had to practically fumigate my house after I told my guest to leave. So grossed out still...ugh. I don't know if the weird smell in the guest room is still lingering or if it's just my imagination now. The smell in my bathroom still hasn't gone either, andI can't find the source, so maybe that's my imagination too. I've disinfected everything in there a couple of times, so idk. And I discovered they left some of their stuff in my basement (which I have now crammed into a blue bag and will mail back to them when I next get paid. *screams internally*

V What's your doll/character's favourite summer activity?

 

^ Kerli loves going to the swimming pool on summer, in fact, she is currently really angry because it's been raining for days and she hasn't been able to go. Edgar and Nelliel prefer to wake up early and go to walk with their dog.

< I don't like rain at all either. I can't stand summer storms. Bad weather kinda drains my vitality xD

v Does your doll have a characteristic quote they can't stop saying? (for example: "oh my god", "I told you", etc).

 

^ Ilya ends up using a lot of words like "sweet" and "rad." Even when the situation doesn't call for it. He'll stub his toe terribly and from the floor softly whisper "rad..."
He's a dork.

Aelic says "cool, bro/man/dude" a lot. Mostly when he's not paying attention to whatever's around him, honestly.

Lacey tends to narrate what she's feeling/doing, like if there's something really funny going on she'll just "I'm screaming/I laugh" stuff like that. She also likes coming up with interesting euphemisms for curse words.

< Speaking of Lacey; I really want her to get heerreeeeee. *complains*

v What is your doll/character's biggest quirk? (Like...something weird they do/say frequently, etc.?)

 

^ Elliot curses like a sailor. He has such a sweet face, but then he gets upset and the curse words start flowing.

> Guh, I never want to look at plantain again!

v Your character has to do a tedious task for hours on end. How do they cope?

 

^ Hiiroka might just complain and whine and curse the world for hours until it's over. If it gets bad enough, he'd probably cry

< Well. My new pet bird hates me. Now my hands are bleeding

v Do you have any dolls with unnatural skin colors?

 

^ Not yet, unfortunately. I want at least one (a Dollzone Ivan in grey to be Ilya's brother), and probably some others just for random cool characters as I come up with them. I have a moth fairy-ish character that's sort of a mottled blue/purple that would be fun to dye.

< Okay self, repeat after me: you do not need any Boku no Hero Academia character dolls. (...my self is very convinced that Iida Tenya and Bakugou Katsuki need to be in doll form. They really don't, but...they do.)

v What's your doll/character's favorite form of entertainment? (Of any type!)

 

^ Does scaring the s**t out of me count? Because they LOVE to do this! (I told that already, these bastards are ALIVE!!!!!!) As for a characters... Nigel loves to cuddle with his boyfriend Nial, playing with his cat and some reading. Nial loves to ride fast bikes! But he had to sell his own to find his loved one (such lovestory in their past ). Estaz likes everything: gardening, walks in the nature, stargazing... Everything nature related.

< Back from work. And yesterday I talked with my mom. We both cried while drinking wine. And we also talked about my doll plans. I'm glad she's so supportive, but I think, that the one thing from the past changed a lot. I don't want to put her through something similar ever again.

v Was there something in your character's past, what changed everything? Some turn of event, accidents or other stuff happenin that made them thing differently? To choose another path in their life?

 

^ yes! Without going into a lot of back story, a spell (magic, woo!) was put on John that forced him to feel emotions he was previously didn't have. Suddenly experiencing things like guilt, remorse, fear, joy, sadness and love changed him completely. He's a totally different person than he used to be (the person he used to be was not nice btw). There actually was an accident that led up to this, but emotion thing was the real turning point.

V I can't think of a question...to much work (like, my job work lol) so I'm passing down: Was there something in your character's past, what changed everything? Some turn of event, accidents or other stuff happenin that made them thing differently? To choose another path in their life?

 

^ Elliot is made up of secondhand pieces, so he thinks back and wonders who he used to be and why he was sold. He has attachment issues and sometimes tries to push people away. Ollie will be completely new and while Ji-Han's head was secondhand, it was never touched so he didn't have an old personality. They don't quite understand, but they try to get him to focus on the present.

v Did you ever have a doll project that went wrong? Were you able to fix things?

 

^ Many, many times, usually sewing-related. Sometimes I've been able to rip things back and fix it, but otherwise I chalk it up to a learning experience and move on if it really can't be repurposed or salvaged or given to a different doll.

< Okay, seriously, %$&# you, lawnmower. All I wanted was a pleasant hour to mow the yard and be zen and not on the phone, and you had to pop loose a tire.

v What doll activity gives you the most joy or relaxation?

 

^ Definitely Ilya's outfit! It was the first real crafting project I've done for any of my dolls, and I personally think it turned out really well.

< Taco night is best night.

v Do your dolls/characters have any special occasions they look forward to? (Ex. Christmas, birthdays, taco night, etc.?)

 

^ Nigel is looking forward to ever book fair, since these are the best place for bookworm like him. Nigel with Nial are not celebrating things like Christmas, Easter and other stuff based on religionistic ideology.
Estaz is looking forward to every nature related thing. First snow, first blooming flowers... Every single thing could make him happy. He've seen it so many times, but it's still like seeing it for the first time.

< Free day. And I'm washing my clothes. The problem? I had ONLY my work shirt and apron. That meant looking for EVERYTHING I had out at least once. I sooooo hate it. -_-

v Let's turn the question: Is there some occasion your doll/character hates?

 

^ Carlos hates family get-togethers. He doesn't like discussing personal stuff, so inquisitive relatives are a nightmare.

< Could those morons in Hamburg stop messing up the city? What may or may not be wrong with world politics is neither the police's nor the residents' fault. Everyone in Hamburg, stay safe!

v Some sort of sh*t hits the fan. What happened and how do your dolls react?

 

^ A giant tentacle monster attacks. John panics because tentacle monster and who wouldn't? but he manages to hold it off long enough to get it to follow him to the roof (re: he runs away and it follows) and then he drops it off the building (it was luck.).
Equal parts panic, skill and luck is how he handles pretty much everything.

> I'm planning a huge mod on a head I still haven't gotten (c'mon Canada post, move it along), and I want to start my own head sculpt already. I have the materials ready! But mod first. Then sculpting. It would be easier to wait if the head was here.

V If you were going to sculpt your own doll, what would you want to sculpt? Would you attempt a full doll, or just a head?
(you can answer this question regardless of skill level. Pretty sure I can't sculpt, and I'm gonna do it anyway)

 

^ In my main OC character group, I have a lot of characters whose looks really don't fit existing sculpt designs--full anthros (not partial anthros like the Luts Zuzu KDFs or Soom's everything), sometimes with a base of a nonexistent creature of some sort. So I'd probably sculpt a full doll of one of them. Or possibly of one of the animals they're based on.

< I don't know what that recipe was talking about with 5-6 pints from the full thing, I got 5 easily with the recipe halved!

^ I'm going to assume the Doll Genie is nice and won't try to twist them around. XD Wish One: A Volks Tohya Version 1 Fullset in awesome condition. Wish Two: Some actual sculpting skills, since mine are really non-existent. Wish Three: A new body for Sebastian, or maybe a whole new shell.

V ever been disappointed with a doll or doll item purchase? Elaborate!

 

^ Yeeeees. My first doll ever, actually. At the time I was happy, and I convinced myself he was fine for a long time, but once I started seeing dolls that were more like what I wanted (and that actually posed at all), I really started be disappointed with him. Once I got Aelic, he went into the box and hasn't really left since except to take sale photos. He was a lesson for me to save my money for what I really want instead of jumping at the cheapest thing I can afford.

< Okay, the most recent BNHA OVA is the funniest thing I've ever seen. I'm gonna be laughing for the next week.

v What is your doll/character's favorite kind of weather? What do they like to do in said weather?

 

^ For Nigel it's rain. Because he can stay at home, read some of his favourite books and he doesn't need an excuse why to stay at home. Nial is more outdoor type, sosome kind of weather when he can go for a ride. But he doesn't have a bike, so poor him. But he still enjoys some walks. And Estaz? For him everything is beautiful, but he simply loves the warm nights when he can go to take a bath near waterfall.

< I've watched the second season of Shingeki no Kyojin yesterday. And I don't know what to say about it in the review I'm going to write later today, when I get home from work. Imcan't spoil it!!!!! O.o and that woul be hard!

v It's storm. How does your character reacts? Likes it, or is he/she scared?

 

^ After using every spare pot, bowl, cup, and bottle to catch the drips of rain that come in through the cracks in the sealing, he'd sit and stare out the foggy window watching the storm. Then, he'd start to make a cup of tea only to realize he used anything he could put it in for the leaks. I think he'd be happy.

> I've realized what ducklings smell like. It's taken me over a week but I finally figured it out. They smell like cereal.

v Your doll is at a friend's house. The friend has keeps ducks and invited your doll over to hold the newly hatched ducklings. After your doll has been there for a while, the friend asks if they'd like to care for a duckling. What happens, how does your doll react, and what do they say?

 

^ (This is so specific, I love it. )
Ilya would immediately take responsibility like his life depended on it. That would be the most spoiled duckling in the history of the universe. Ilya would probably also go swimming with it a lot; he already has a pond in the backyard specifically for swimming, so... Spoiled duck. Yep.

v What's the funniest BJD related thing that's ever happened to you?

 

^nothing really hilarious, but I did lose my realpukis magnetic foot, searched all about the house for hours looking for it.. driving to seriously frustrated tears.... and it had been stuck to the back of her the entire time :'D

< I keep falling in love with discontinued dolls and it's driving me crazy!

v do you have any dolls on layaway currently?

 

^ Yup! Two: a DZ Yo-Carter and the Nighthawk I ordered to get him 2/3 payments done, though I know it'll still be a while even after the final payment.

< I don’t think I ever found any owner photos of Nighthawk, but I love his fullset and had a character pop into my head for him almost immediately, so yeah, he had to come home. (Funny thing was, I probably saw him before and had little to no interest...wonder what changed )

v Have you ever made a doll purchase just because you wanted the event gift?

 

^ Hmmm... yes - if ballet feet counted

v Have your ever promised yourself not to buy more dolls?

 

^ Nope. I know a lost cause when I see one. I have noticed my wishlist is growing slower than it used to, though. Mostly nice-to-haves and possibly-maybes left on it these days.

v Who is the adultiest adult among your crew? Who is the least adulty? Do / would they get along?

 

^ Ou... The most adult would be Estaz. But that's only because he never had a childhood and knows nothing about acting differently. Least adulty? I can't say Kissa, since she's a little kitten. But... Yeah, that would be Kissa. And I think... that Estaz would love her and she would accept him. But there is no possibility for them to ever meet in their own stories And even now they are on different shelf.

< I'm writing review of second season of Shingeki no Kyojin... and I don't know what PV I should use. Or what pictures. I want to have the original ones, but there is mostly Ymir. And Ymir. And Ymir...

v Who is the troublemaker in your crew? And does this troublemaker have someone to clean his mess?

 

^ Hmm... Of the dolls I actually have, Ilya is probably the buggest troublemaker, though he doesn't really mean to be. He's more...enthusiastic. Aelic is slightly more devious than Ilya, but doesn't really put it to any good use. My guys are pretty laid back. (I don't have him yet, but Nikos [Ilya's brother] would be the mess cleaner. He's a Mom Friend.)

v What is your doll/character's favorite food? Why do they like it so much?

 

^ Rontu's fav is deer...as a panther he likes it on the rare side...like raw XD oh whoops so he likes it the most cuz its reminds him of hunting with his father and it was his sister's fav meat.

v turning the last question on it's head, what is your doll characters least liked food?lol why does that sentence look qierd to me...as in what food do they hate?

 

^ Tyler hates cauliflower and he hates any kind of steamed green vegetables. It's not the green veggies themselves that he dislikes, only the way they're prepared. He also hates instant mashed potatoes because, more than anything else, it reminds him of his numerous hospital visits. Noé is a picky eater and dislikes a lot of things, but his least favourite foods are any kind of fish. Reid will eat practically anything and really doesn't have a least favourite food, although he wouldn't be overly excited about eating canned soup. Aubrey doesn't like canned foods either, but his least favourite thing is actually packaged pasta (like Kraft Dinner).

< hnnng...so hungry! I was so sick yesterday and didn't enjoy my food, and now I'm ready to make up for it today.

V What's your doll/character's "comfort food"?

 

^ Elliot: Tea (he seems like he would be an Earl Grey kind of guy)
Ollie: Soda (she is not fond of bitter things)
Ji-Han: Coffee (though tea is fine too. I think he might even be fond of their bitter flavor.)

v Your doll is nervous about something. How do they calm themselves?

 

^ usually when clover is nervous/anxious or angry she will sit somewhere quiet and read over her fathers journal and notes about mythical creatures.

< people on the bus can be really weird.

v what type of social situation makes your doll character uncomfortable?

 

^ All of them! If we're talking about Estaz. He's always alone, never had someone to talk to, so each of the "socil situation is uncomfortable for him. No. Wait. He's scared of them. He's so scared of humans, that he is hiding deep in the forest.
Nigel woud feel the worst in a big group of girls, even though he's almost like a girl himself. And when there is conversation about religion? Och my, not this! This could be the worst topic for conversation with him.
Nial feels uncomfortable during "high class society" events. He had to attend such events because of his family.

< I just woke up... Need to pack the rest of my things, get dressed and go for a train home!!!! I so much want to tell my mom I got promoted at work *-*

v Since my dolls are having problem with religion, how about your dolls? How about their beliefs? Do they believe in God/the Force/Buddha/spaghetti monster?

 

^ I'll just go through my 4 worlds characters here.

Rina- used to serve a mortal-plane bound god, and followed her devoutly, though she didn't much care about th big 4 gods in the sky world. Now she's madly in love with a minor god named Balik, and believes in her capacity to fix the world.

Balik- was made by one of the big 4 gods and beli vets in him, and in his vision for the world. Does not see herself as a god, and never will despite that technically she is one...

Euphony- believes gods are real but doubts any one of them has any intention that isn't self-serving. Would never look to them for help.

Cacophony- his lover briefly became a god. He would like that to happen again please.

Tacet- believes the big 4 are obsolete and her father will replace them, with her at his side.

< I swore I wasn't going back to that series but I love it again.....

V if your doll's significant other was killed and returned as a zombie, what would they do?

 

^ He'd have an undead significant other. I think that as long as there was a way to keep them from killing him, he'd probably stay with them even if they were a zombie. He'd just start studying necromancy so that he could take care of them and what not.

v Your doll remembers something from their childhood that makes them feel nostalgic, what do they do?

 

^ None of my dolls really had childhoods. Though Gobby remembers one, and she would reminisce fondly, maybe take whatever reminded her of it. She's a bit of a klepto. If Elliot could actually remember something from his past, he would probably start obsessing over what it meant.

v Same question. Your doll remembers something from their childhood that makes them feel nostalgic, what do they do?

 

^ Lacey loves looking back on her childhood, especially with her horses. She's got her first horse that was really hers (Captain, who's a blue roan Clydesdale) when she was nine, so they have a bond that makes her really nostalgic. (All my other dolls are like late teens and don't really get nostalgic, haha~)

< Speaking of Lacey... *aggressively shakes "Want Shipping Notice" sign*

v If your doll/character could have any kind of mythical creature a a pet, what would they want and why?

 

^ I don't know if they'd want one, but I think Giedre would very much appreciate a gnome. At first I was thinking a cute helpful little fairy of some sort like in anime or even a tinkerbell, but I think they would be too high energy for him... So a gnome would be very suitable. They seem to have matched easy but fun attitudes, enjoy gardens, and the general pleasantness of the outdoors.

< when you notice someone's new to the dungeon and they die a lot but they trying and you're just like 'you go bud' ; u ;

v Its summer! Do you have a doll with a birthday or arrival date in the summer? What is/are their name(s) and their date(s)?

 

^ Yue's birthday is coming up on the 16th, he will be 22 and he's lived her for a whole year. Jae's birthday is on the 23 but he will be 600+ years old so he doesn't celebrate it though he will have been living here for 3 years.

< Why is it so hard to get plumber's to come out to the boonies? We have $ please fix our broken things.

v Do your dolls have birthdays other than their arrival dates?

 

^ I am so undecided! Their heads and bodies arrive at different times. At least Gobby will be easy. The day she arrives, whole, will be her birthday. The rest, I'll have to decide between head and body dates. And soon, some are coming up.

v Does your doll like trying new foods?

 

^ Christian, yes. He's pretty much open to any and all new food experiences. Some of the others are more picky, though.

< Pro tip: Spider bites in the vicinity of the hand make hand-related activities very difficult! (I hate living in nature sometimes.)

v Is your doll a nature-lover, or do they prefer the city?

 

^ John is kind of both! He lives in New York, and definitely prefers to stay in the city, but he likes birds a lot, and will go to the park just to feed them. He also has a plant. It's not really a plant yet...it's just a seed in a pot...but someday it may grow. So mostly city, and a teeny bit of nature. Still counts.

V What came first for you, the doll or the character?

 

^ Depends on the doll! For Ilya and Lacey, I saw the sculpt first and then made the character. For Aelic and Toshi, I found a doll to match a character I already had. The dolls on my wishlist are all kind of 50/50 for this kind of thing.

v Your doll/character suddenly sprouts wings that perfectly encapsulate their personality. What do their wings look like?

 

^Tahmos would have somethiing magnificent. Or wings made of liquid if possible. Maybe like Lapis Lazuli's from Steven Universe?

<Need to feel inspired. Haven't been lately. Been mentally bogged by the thought of what I can possibly contribute to this community lately....

v One of your characters gets stuck in a burning house, and another has to go in and rescue them. Who's stuck in the house, and who'll be their savior?

 

^ either Frost is in the house, and lit it on fire with his magic by accident, and Thanatos is charging in to rescue him, or Tacet's sunstone abilities lit the old, dry wood of a house on fire, and Atonia has to go runnin in and save her from herself. Again.
