V what would your doll character be doing to cool off in boiling weather ? (yes I may be exaggerating but meh)

 

^ Well... Nigel would be at home dying, drinking something cold and using a fan. Or maybe going to the library, where it's cold during summer. But that means - leaving the house. Nial would try to ignore it, thinking about swimming every time, but just ends with drinking cooled cider in the darkest room of their flat (he's living with Nigel). Kissa, as a cat, would be lying on the colder tiles in the bathroom or in the sink. Because it's colder than anything else. The winner in this is Estaz, I think. He' in the forest all the time, so he would stay in his shack, or go to the waterfall to cool himself there.

< Wow... wasn't here for the full year. One year doing nothing dolly related! I so missed this! *crying in the corner*

v Were you ever "forced" to stop with this hobby, even for just a short period of ? Like... personal reasons (don't have to tell exactly what happened), work, family, etc?

^ I love unboxing! I love reading box opening threads, and I share whenever I get something. (Speaking of which, I wish the mail truck would hurry up and get my parcel home ...)

v Your dolls are going on a holiday. Where are they going and how are they getting there?

 

^ Nigel and Nial would surely go for some "let's-get-know-our-country-history-better", co they would go for some castle visits, to museum and stuff like this. But Nial is more fond of the food than the history. They are mostly using train or bus, but train is more comfortable for them.

v And let's stick to the "holiday theme": Your doll can go on holiday. But what is the thing that scares them the most? (used transport - train, bus, plane, ship or small and smelly hotel room, different language in the final destination...?) Share these "holiday fears" with us!

 

^ Rina is afraid of the flight. She used to have wings, and has been blasted out of the sky thrice, though she was at least caught the third time. She's terrified of airplanes because if this thing falls she will die and there is nothing she can do. She can't fly on her own anymore.

V here's annout of the box question. Your doll has been brainwashed. Why did this happen and what snaps them out of it?

 

^ For Ilya, it probably happened because he was messing with magic he shouldn't have been. Depending on the severity, his brothers might be able to snap him out of it, but he also might need Shui (an ancient water god/elemental and the sweet single dad down the street) to fix him the magic way. (Honestly, Aelic's would probably be the same.)

< One more day until I'm back home... Being away for a month is gross. (And then money for Lacey!)

v Are you saving for anything specific right now?

 

^ I can't. No one will hire me. But if I was, it would be for bodies for my last two floating heads. Then an airbrush and faceups supplies or just faceups themselves. Then a camera. Then jointed hands. And that's not including things like wigs, eyes, etc. I really need a job.

v Is there a doll you like to look at, but have no desire to get?

 

^ Most of the Iplehouse SD girls. The same with most of the Loongsoul boys. To be honest, I love the sculpts of this company, but I really have only one that I really desire from them. So this could be it

< I finally came back from work. This time... I really enjoy it. Making smoothies with nice people around me is fun. And it brings me money for dolls and cosplay! Even though I don't have as much free time anymore (because I'm still at school).

v Matching outfit for you and your doll? Why or why not?

 

^ Nope. Mostly because I like to wear dresses and tights, and everything in purple, and that would look odd on most of my dolls, since they are mostly hairy men. The men's clothes that I wear look good on my narrow frame, but would look a bit awkward on the either extra beefy or sort of chunky guys that I have. ^^; My Batchix Lagoon wears things that I would wear, but she's sort of my mini-me anyway.

< Naps are very good. Yes. Let's have more naps.

v Is there an outfit style or clothing piece that you really need or want, but just can't seem to find? (If you sew, is there a piece that is defying all attempts to make it?)

 

^ Both of my boy's outfits. I need a late 1800's/turn of the century fancy gentleman's suit, and a simply designed boho-meets-tolkein elvish pants outfit. The latter I'm sure I will have to make myself, but I will never give up hope for finding them (suit especially) somewhere.... my sewing skills are remedial at best and I loathe having to make the same fhing over and over again because they come out like garbage, and I won't dress my boys like dirty hobos.

< Why do people in tiny spaces, have to scream to speak to each other. Just.... calm down

v How does your character react to selfish people?

 

^ Nial hates them and he has no problem showing it. But the selfishness of his lover is absolutely okay, because he thinks that Nigel deserves the right to be selfish sometimes (they have lines how far can Nigel go without making Nial angry).

< I had a dream about work. And that made me wake up... and I've discovered that I have new message on messenger. From work. But nothing important for me.

v It's nice and sunny day, not extremely hot. And your doll has a free time. What is he/she going to do?

 

^ My doll would probably go have an ice picnic with some pink lemonade and sandwiches with her friends!

v What is your grail doll?

 

^ I've actually acquired both of my grail dolls! They were Oasisdoll Natalie (discontinued) and Iplehouse SID Edan (limited). I guess now I sort of have grail bodies. I'd like an SDGR girl body, but they're so pricey.

< Hopefully it stops raining. I'd like to practice face-ups this weekend.

v Do you own your favorite doll?

 

^ Honestly, I don't even know if I HAVE a favourite doll. I've seen so many I love in different styles for different reasons so... I wouldn't be able to quantify them like that even if I tried. But I do LOVE the sculpts I have!

< Vacation isn't long enough.... I don't want to leave.

v Would you ever put money down for a doll/faceup/accessory sight unseen?

 

^ With the exception of exactly one artist, no. I've been at this long enough to know that concept =/= reality, and I would rather miss out and have to hunt on the second-hand market than end up with a doll or accessory that I really don't like. Honestly, I've been burned enough times where the promo pics end up looking nothing like the actual product. (Leeke Richard, I'm glaring at you.) So no, with exactly one exception, I will not buy anything before seeing pics.

< It is face-up day! If I can ever get up the wherewithal to take heads off bodies and prep them. XD

v What are your doll plans for the weekend?

 

^ I am going to visit bjd casting workshop! My friend works there and I have an opportunity to see how dolls are made! I am so excited!

< Probably dolls are the biggest part of my life now^^

v Do you have collectors among your dolls? What do they collect?

 

^ Nigel is one hell of a reader, so we can say, that he's collecting books. And that would be all from my crew

< my legs hurts so much! Standing the whole afternoon in uncomfortable shoes is real pain in the... But it means money!

v What was the WORST job you did to save money for doll/doll stuff?

 

^ Phonathon at my school. Social anxiety + Asking people for money = Misery. I quit and did the admission phonathon instead, but it only lasted two weeks.

v What is your preferred collection size, and what size is your collection now?

 

^ I'm always trying to put some money aside. Like: "I have food money. Let's just put this amount into the box and forget about fancy meals for some time." And I'm also trying to stop smoking, so I'm getting my money from every single package I haven't buy. Also the work helps Plus I have still money I got from my family for birthday, Christmas and stuff. But now I had different things to pay, so now I have no money for dolls. (but my grandma is saint and she's saving for my next doll, as a gift for ending my 2nd year of university).

< I have morning shift tomorrow. I'm scared as hell, because I have to open the store and I'm supposed to have shift with the laziest and most irresponsible person in the whole world! I don't want her to ruin my day! She did it today tho. -_-

v How does your doll deal with "unpleasant", "lazy" and "irresponsible" people at their lives (work, school, home)?

 

^ Aelic is suuuuper passive aggressive about stuff (he considers it a flaw, but doesn't really try to change it), so he just throws people dirty looks and makes sassy comments that you may not even catch. Ilya, on the other hand, is all about determination and doing your best, so he'd start lecturing straight out. And if it'd escalated, well...Ilya has never lost any kind of brawl. With anyone. (At least, not anyone non-magical.)

< I really need to stop looking at Our Generation sets... I want all the horse ones for Lacey. It's a shame the clothes won't fit.

v What would your doll/character consider their greatest flaw? Do they try to keep it under control or do they just let it be?

 

^ Elliot is quick to distrust. He has abandonment issues and feels like people will turn on him given the chance. The once person he really trust is Ollie and she is helping him trust others.

Ollie's flaw is her impulsiveness. She is always getting herself into trouble. But she usually gets out too, so she hasn't tried that hard to change.

Ji-Han has trouble expressing himself. He likes to seems cool under pressure, and hates to let people know when he is panicked or needs help. He is trying to express himself more, but it is slow.

v What does your doll like to eat? If they don't, why?

 

^ My two eat little tea party snacks like cake. They'll eat most cute food

< Making yarn wigs is so hard. The hair keeps shedding EVERYWHERE

v Do you use backdrops when you take pictures of your dolls?

 

^ Sometimes, yes. I have a couple stashed at work that I printed out and taped together and have clipped to some foam board scraps XD and then a couple at home I don't use much because It's too much of a pain to get them out. I should do it more tho, it looks better IMO.

V Any large doll projects in your future?

 

^ I'm aiming (still) to start building a doll shelf/room set for the big kids. The lack of access to power saws has been the big slow-down for me. Plus I'd have to rearrange the furniture in my living space for it, but this might actually be a very good week to start, since I have zero responsibilities this week except feeding the dogs and letting them out to play. (and feeding myself, I guess....) I also need to move stuff from one counter to somewhere else so I can set up the MSD apartment.

< Ha! A week or more with no people in the house! It is amazing and awesome and I am enjoying it more than I really have any right to do.

v Is your doll an introvert or an extrovert?

 

^ Ilya is definitely an extrovert, he loves people and making friends, but can be a liiiiiiittle pushy about it sometimes, which can get annoying. Aelic is kind of in the middle; he's friendly and likes talking, but he can also get annoyed by certain people and likes his time alone. Toshi is an extrovert, but people often don't approach him because he seems so reserved and quiet. (He's really not though...)

v This has probably been asked before, but what's your dream/grail doll, and why do they have that status? (Also, do you own them now?)

 

^ My grail sculpt is Demiurge Dolls Renault, he was soldout for a long time already when I choose him to shell my character. I had to change sculpt but still wanted Renault. And yes, I owe him now and very happy I got him.

^ Not shipping soon, but I am waiting for my Dream High Studios Aldou to get made. I want to see her already!

v Any stalled projects?

 

^ My big mod project. I need to finish settling in my new studio, and need to make sure I set things up so it's not dangerous to the new cats while I'm working. In the meantime, I'm doing some blushing, and need to polish off the one I've got in progress, when I finally have time, low enough humidity/no rain, and energy to do it.

<This place is a ghost town today... There's eight people total and three of them are interns.

v What accessory or prop do you most want right now?

 

^ That's hard to say. My dolls don't have a lot of props, though I definitely want to pick up more. Maybe cute food items and a camera. Eventually, though, I'd like to 3D print some swords and armor for them (for their story).

< I mean, I knew going in that there wasn't much clothing for SID boys, but wow. It's like pulling teeth - even Iplehouse doesn't have much.

V Do you own any doll couples? Or is your doll part of a couple with someone else's doll?

 

^ Well, I don't own him quite yet, but Aelic's boyfriend will be a Souldoll Joelle.D (and probably a regular Joelle head as well, so I have a smirking and regular version of the same character). I hope to have several doll couples eventually, but I don't have any with me just yet.

< Sighs... As much as I understand timezones, I must say: I hate them. With a passion.

v Does your doll's character change their hairstyle a lot? Do you represent this on the physical doll, or do you stick wth one wig?

 

^ I think the only one that would do that much is Ji-Han. Which would mean multiple wigs. But I'll put that off until he is done.

v How do your first doll and your most recent doll compare? If you have one or none, compare wishlist dolls.

 

^ My first was a standard Bobobie mini (with a body swap), with faceup, ordered in-stock with eyes and a wig. Most recent is a Soom limited FCE tiny with fantasy parts, blank, no extras, bought on layaway. Pretty different, I think! I sure didn't think I'd be getting fantasy sculpts, tinies, limited sculpts, or "expensive" sculpts at all when I started.

< And now we're told we can just leave early from the ghost town. Can't complain!

v Is your doll easily scared?

 

^ Well... You can say that? Nigel is scared of everything that has boobs (he likes two or three girl only). And I'm not sure, if he's scared or if he hates Bible and it's followers. The most scared of my crew would be Estaz. He's always hiding deep in the forest, scared of people. He freaks out when he hears human voices somewhere close.

v What is your doll's biggest obsession?

 

^ Audrey's biggest obsession is My Little Pony. She is deeply devoted to all things My Little Pony. Her world screeches to a halt if there is *anything* My Little Pony on TV.

v What movie would your doll want to go see right now?

 

^ Eiko would want to go see some dorky kid's movie. So she could sit and make fun of it.

v How old is your oldest doll? (character age)

 

^ Oldest? Eh... Jack was made somewhere during medieval times, Estaz is two centuries older than him... But the oldest would be Lui. He exists in human world for 1700 years, but he has even longer life from "Heaven". So... Yeah. My little wolf is the oldest baby

< @Osaka Really? WOW! This could be troublesome in the future, no?

v I'll turn the question: How old is your youngest doll? (character age)

 

^ Youngest would be Luc, who's about 4 years old. He's my only tiny that's actually a child in character too. The rest are all faeries or chibis.

< So nice to come home early and go for a swim! I just wish the pool didn't feel so cold today, it's hard to ease myself in with a tail.

v Do you have any characters whose ages don't match their sculpts?

 

^ Probably the one whose age least matches his sculpt is Yasuo, my Unoa B-El. I have him done up middle-aged, and I think most people have their Unoa fellows in their teens, maybe early 20s? Magic babies and adults don't count! (at least in my estimation)^^;

< @Darci --He's very immature for his age, but some girls might find it a charm point. XD I'm not too worried, he has plenty of time to grow up. Maybe he'll grow up too fast when he starts high school! ;n;

v Do you have any sculpts who play against their type--boy sculpts as girls, chibis as tiny adults, etc?

 

^ I have an incoming tiny that is old, wrinkly and on a gender neutral body. Most people seem to see them as male, but mine will be an little old lady. Also, Ollie's sculpt goes on a male or gender neutral body, so of course I got it into my head to make her a girl. It seems that every time I find a girl sculpt I like, it is actually male.

v What is your most popular sculpt? Least popular?

 

^ Most popular as in considered popular by most of the community? If so, then I'd say my most popular is probably my CP Delf Lishe. He's an old sculpt, but they were wildly popular back when I got him, and are still pretty popular now, I think, though the old CP Delfs can now only be bought secondhand.

My least popular would be my Dollzone Carter. A lot of people apparently think he's creepy; I think it's because of his little teeth (which is his absolute best characteristic in my opinion).

v Do any of your dolls wear hats?

 

^ Ehm... No. I think that Nial could, but he's just wearing anything given, doesn't care about anything. Nigel will need straw hat with bow (but no time, no money)... and that would be all. I think that they are same as me in this. I'm not a hat type of person xD

< The last day at work before one free day! 6 day in a row is just too much. But today's afternoon shift is with that lazy girl again... Why me?! *sigh* at least there would be "second in command boss" with us for three hours.

v Underwear! Does your doll have any?

 

^ Elliot has boxers. The person I bought his body from kindly included them.

v Is your doll a night owl or early bird?

 

^ Aubrey and Reid are both morning people. Noé is a night person. Tyler is neither, really; he has a fairly strict sleep schedule, although he definitely isn't a "morning" person.

< Monday on a Tuesday...great. Also, the houseguest is gone, thank gods. I actually had to Febreze my sofa and the mattress in the guest room, and I feel like I'm gonna have to wash the sheets twice. How in the heck do you stay with someone for 4 days in this high humidity and heat, and only shower once? And when I say, "please don't put your feet on my furniture," please DO NOT put your gross feet on my ANTIQUES. Like...omg please no

V Would your character be a respectful houseguest or the houseguest from hell?

 

^ Aelic and Toshi would be very respectful. (They're both tidy and pretty quiet in their own homes, so it's no trouble in someone else's.) Ilya might be a little more...enthusiastic about being somewhere else, but he wouldn't be gross or anything, and he'd respect if his host asked him to do or not do something. And he loves bathing, so...that wouldn't be a problem.

v Does your doll/character like podcasts? Why or why not? What's their favorite genre? (If they're in a time/place that doesn't have podcasts, would they like them if given the chance?)

 

Too slow
^ They would listen to radio programs that are probably in the same format as podcasts. (I've never listened to one so personally, I don't know)
^^I think the only one that would be trouble would be Thaddeus. He wouldn't put his feet on your furniture because he would have his minion move your furniture to the garage or backyard and have his, throne and bed brought in. He is fastidious but when angered he does throw fireballs that might damage your home and furniture.

< @SapphireStargazer I can't imagine the sometimes grumpy Reid being a morning person.

v Do you have conflicts between your characters?

 

^ The conflict is usually that the more straitlaced Elliot doesn't want the others to do a thing... but they do it anyway.

v What sculpt do you like but not get? Why?

 

^ Several are a bit too realistic to fit my crew, or too stylized. The Feeple60 girls are this way, even though I like a lot of them. Volks F64 is too expensive, as I'd want her on the SDGr girl body, and I don't have a character in mind.

< I have so much cleaning to doooo.

v What size is your favorite to collect?

 

^ 65+ definitely. Average size in my collection is 62 cm, or 69 cm if count 3 msd and 1 tiny separately

v Have you ever bought some doll just to get know some company/size/style? Did you sell it after?

 

^ I never did. I better be safe than sorry. It's troublesome for me to sell something. But now I'm planning to buy Dollzone boy and I don't know how the SD body acts... and I know no one closer who could lend it to me to "touch it". So I might end up with something I don't want... But hey, Estaz finally needs the rest of his body!

< They let me go earlier from work! 2 more hours of freedom! Time to do something... like watch anime, play games or think about doll stuff :3

v If you're buying body for your doll, what are the factors you're looking for? Should it pose well, should the color match with head/hands/legs/colour of furniture or your cat?

 

^ I absolutely have to have good poseability. I don't really mind weird resin matches, 'cause that can be fixed with paint, but I need a good aesthetic that matches with the head and poses well. I usually have an idea of what I want for the aesthetic, but sometimes it's hard to find... Hybriding takes me ages, 'cause I'm so specific.

< Sighs... I need to find some good movies to watch.

v Does your doll/character like animals? What's their favorite animal?

 

^ Tyler's favourite animal is horses. He and his brother grew up on a hobby farm, and their father is a veterinarian, so both brothers got to spend a lot of time around horses and other animals. Michael isn't as horse-crazy as Tyler. His favourite animals are dogs. Reid is very much a cat person. Noé is decidedly a dog person. Aubrey doesn't really have a particular favourite animal, although he does like cats and he's very fond of reptiles (particularly snakes)

< @SteamWitch - Reid is just a crank in general, time of day notwithstanding. He's very much a morning person and always has been, even before being in the military. He likes to start his day around 5:00 a.m. and generally goes to bed around 11:00 p.m. unless it's a weekend and he's out partying hard with his friends. Either being tired or being in pain tend to make him cranky

V Does your doll/character take selfies? A lot, occasionally or hardly ever?

 

^ They are hardly taking some normal photos. I have no selfie-king/queen in my crew. And if they ever would do some selfies... Nigel only together with Nial, never alone. And Nial is not the type to get photographed. And the others would ask: "What is selfie?"

< And today... on my free day... going to see exhibition of Czech designer Blanka Matragi. *-*

v Are all of your characters somehow connected, or you have more "storylines" where's just few of them, without any connection to the others?

 

^ I have mostly couples, but even if they are from the same Universe, they have no connection in their stories.

v would you mind if someone accidentally made a character you planned to make? I mean not cosplay but original character. For ex, you think to make your old character, coffeeshop owner, and see than someone already made his own coffeeshop owner. Will you deny your idea or make him and nevermint ither's dolls?

 

^ I actually think it would be impossible for someone to "accidentally" make a character I planned to make, as I consider all of my characters unique individuals who can't be exactly duplicated by accident. I'm also enough of a realist to understand that there are going to be lots of people who make the same type of characters as me, especially in my region of the world where we share similar social and cultural experiences. I make the characters I want to make, regardless of what anybody else thinks of them and regardless of what anybody else is doing with their own characters. The only way I would be really upset would be if someone deliberately copied one of my original characters, making one with the same or similar name, same physical characteristics and enough similar personality characteristics that it could not be a coincidence.

< that feeling when you're still angry and disgusted, and you need to vent, but you can't because you'd sound like a shitty friend and a really terrible person...

V What's one thing you wish you'd done differently in the hobby?

 

^ Waited. I was so impatient, but I wish I had gotten a proper job first. Then again, one doll was limited, one has a body that isn't sold alone but just happened to be on the MP, and I think one head might be discontinued. That or it has set order periods. Okay, maybe waiting wouldn't have helped. But I still don't know if this was the right time to start. I just hope it doesn't bite me in the butt later.

v What do your dolls do when alone?

 

^ Noé loves to be alone. He'll do just about anything alone, from sitting in his room reading or listening to music, to shopping, to going out to dinner or to a museum or performance. Aubrey likes to read when he's alone. He also likes to take long baths and just relax. Reid is rarely ever alone any more, which is fine for him because he doesn't actually like to be alone. This is different from being by himself in his room or having privacy. He does value his space, but he also likes to know there's someone nearby. Tyler wishes he had more time alone. Although he's a social person generally, his wife and family tend to smother him. When Tyler is alone, he likes to read, play the piano or update his journal.

< So...a day without clients, I guess. Of two scheduled appointments so far this morning, both haven't bothered to show up. Nice.

V Does your doll/character prefer to be alone or do they always like to have someone around?
