^ Well, for my OCs...they'd probably like to go to the Avatar/Legend of Korra universe, since a couple of my others are based on characters from that series.

V Do any of your bjds resemble celebrities (look kind of like, or were inspired by them)?

 

^ Nope. They're all in their own designs. I wouldn't mind them resembling celebs if they were that incarnation of the character (like Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange or RDJ's Tony Stark)

V Do you dress up your dolls for holidays like Halloween?

 

^Yes! I have costumes and decorations for most of them. This year the pub will get decked out for the holidays. Yay!

< Spent a while in the craft store today. It was crazy with the different holidays piling on top of each other. FUN!

v Do you celebrate holidays with your dolls as part of the fun?

 

^ Yes. I make them Halloween costumes, decorate their tiny houses and shelves, everyone gets a trick or tret bag even. At Christmas they get nice clothes and sweaters and a tree just for them. Fourth of July and Summer get lumped together.

< Ooo that sounds fun. I'm going to Spirit Halloween tomorrow.

V What kind of costume would you do for one of your dolls if skillset/money was no object?

 

^ I'd make a formal Heian female courtier outfit. My skewed patience and inability to figure out how to decorate the mo train and the karaginu jacket make this unlikely.

< I should be writing, but procrastination feels good.

V What would you love to do with your dolls, but keep putting off?

 

^ Finish some clothes. I have three unfinished projects right now.

v Have you ever been in a swap or hosted order?

 

^ I have been in many swaps over the years. I fell out of doing them because of adult responsibilities, but I'm trying to get back into doing them. Speaking of, I need to get three boxes ready to go, but I've been busy all week with parenting responsibilities to both a two-legged and four-legged child. I love swaps, but I also love just sending out random boxes of dollie-love. I don't think I've ever been in a hosted order, or maybe only one. I live with doll people, so we generally GO in the household and family.

< Haaa, I have help with the four-legged baby!! I can finally shower (ew, I'm gross....) instead of doggy-minding!!

v What doll item are you woefully short on (eyes, shoes, clothes, etc.)?

 

^ I'd say probably clothes. Everyone has eyes and wigs and everything, everyone (who wears shoes) has shoes, but everyone (except Aelic) basically just has one outfit, or they share (with Aelic). ((I like shopping for Aelic, if that isn't apparent. )) Plus, when I get Nikolai's body he won't be able to share with my MSDs, so he'll definitely need some clothes.

< Speaking of, waiting for Nik's body is gonna suck. Even short waits are too long for bodies.

v Do you have any hybrids? Did they work out okay? If you don't have any, do you want to try hybriding?

 

^ Yes, I do. I have a Bimong Narae head on a Doll Legend MSD girl body and it fits really nice! The head was a bit colored to match perfectly the resin (as the head was a bit more yellow than the body) but I love how it looks. I want to make more hybrids in the future because it gives me the chance to choose not only the perfect face but also a perfect body for my OCs.

< I have packaged most of my resin family (except my pretty Nelliel, the apple of my eye) because I'm moving to another place for a year and I can't take them with me. It's really sad T_T

v Does any of your dolls have far more clothing, accesories or other stuff than the other? Or do you try to keep it balanced so everyone gets the same shopping attention?

 

^ think I keep it mostly evenly distributed? Some might have a few more pieces than others, but I'm still working on compiling their wardrobes overall.

< Which I wish I had more time to do, but ack---homework, homework, homework

V Do you have a bjd who's been more neglected than the rest of your crew?

 

^ I mean...they're sort of equally neglected? I don't take enough photos of Drew but at least he has a full character, wig, eyes, faceup, and body and he gets to sit out where I can see him vs Bob. Bob just stays in his box. But then again I'm making Bob a body, taking lots of pictures of him, planning out his character and styling, and he has his own project journal. So I'd say I neglect them equally.

v If you could work on any doll related project what would it be? Or if you've done the one you wanted, what was it?

 

^Right now I'd love to work on any doll project, from refaceupping a few of my crew, to doing wigs, faceups for ones I haven't gotten around to yet, and body blushing on the ones I haven't already done. But alas.....school.

< Which I'm struggling with as it is. My attention span for the materials is practically null.

V if you could do any fantasy element with bjds, what would it be?

 

^ I'm not quite sure what you mean, but I have three Soom Faery Legend dolls with wings, and should find a way to have them all sit together with their wings on.

< One of said fairies still needs his back/ wing magnets glued, and another needs one of her wings repaired, since it fell on the floor.

V Do you have a favorite kind of fantasy BJD?

 

^ Well it sure as heck isn't elf eared sculpts. I'm really not sure whether or not this counts but since isn't not exactly a natural human thing, pointy shark teeth. I FREAKIN LOVE SHARK TEETH ON DOLLS MAN. But other than that, if we're going classic fantasy, I really really love purple dolls. For fantasy parts? Centaurs with human feet. I love pretty much every fantasy bjd tbh

v Ok, what weird combination of fantasy parts and/or colors would you want for the perfect doll combo?

 

^ EIICHI. So, deep red skin, relatively large tusks, four horns in the head/forehead, a long, muscular/prehensile tail, and six arms. (I'll never shell this poor guy...)

< Okay, I'm determined to have a YoSD centaur for my next doll. Specifically, a Honey Delf centaur. They're so cute~

v Your doll is suddenly transformed into an animal! What animal are they changed into and why?

 

^lol Destiny would be too easy since she's a fox demon. So let's go with seil...um Destiny would say he'd end up a bird, but kai would say seil is more like a dog...and i think i kinda agree with kai on that one.

< i am so not a people person so why do i work in a job where i have to constantly interact with said people???

v what field of work would your doll character hate being in?

 

^ Elliot: Customer service (talking to strangers)
Ollie: Accounting (boring)
Ji Han: Construction (messy)

v Do you have any self imposed rules when buying dolls?

 

^ Aside from the usual budgeting concerns, not really. I'm trying to make myself make body-buying the top priority at this point, but that's not working so well. XD I have a vague priority list as to who gets the next body, but beyond that, no real rules or structure. Oh, I also try to avoid impulse buys over $100, because those can go badly.

< I'm feeling strangely upbeat and buoyant today. I'm wondering if it might be a sign...

v Is your doll/character the sort to check their horoscope daily, even for laughs? (Bonus points for their astrological sign!)

 

^ Ian doesn't do it daily, but he finds horoscopes and astrology very interesting. He's a Cancer sun, Taurus moon, and Scorpio rising, which... Isn't that interesting to those that don't know that much about astrology.

< I know too much about astrology, but I do not care.

v What would your doll's astrological sign be? Bonus points for moon and rising signs!

 

^ So I really have given zero thought to John's astrological sign, mostly because he doesn't know his birthday. So I read the elements first and decided he's most like water, and by the dates I randomly chose Scorpio (because that's the time period during which I ordered and received the doll) and read the description and holy crap if that isn't exactly him?! Crazy.
So John = Scorpio.
That's all I got since I literally just did it this minute.

V Passing this on to see if people are more prepared than I was: What would your doll's astrological sign be? Bonus points for moon and rising signs!

 

^ Ash and Evz are twins but Evz is 30 minutes behind Ash, which made a slight difference in their houses. They are both Capricorns moon in Pieces and Cancer rising. Though Ash has two houses in Taurus, and skips Libra all together. Interesting enough they are totally compatible which is why they have sought no other relationships, but I'm not suppose to talk about it.

v Any star crossed lovers out there?

 

^Well, Tahmos and his best friend/lover Qaiden count for this. Especially considering Qaiden no longer inhabits a physical vessel (the character version of him in my story anyways. Once I get Qaiden fully shelled (just a head at the moment) He'll be part alive/part ghost depending on the moment).

< Had to think that one over for a bit. I almost responded with no until I thought it over further.

V What's the worst habit amongst your crew? Smoking, drinking, sex-crazed? Or something else?

 

^we have Tacet who uses sex as self harm and does a lot of it, or we have grim who likes to harm my other characters cause he thinks it's funny messing up whole storylines. And we have Miracle who's a (recovered) drug addict. and Morte and Red both sleep around, a lot. Wow this is a mess of a crew.

<this new evanescence song is not what I expected... I want to like it but it's all disco-y...

V how does your doll character handle disappointment?

 

^ Tahmos doesn't handle disappoint all that well. He tends to get frustrated and worked up when confronted by it.

V What are your crew's spirit animals?

 

^ Elliot and Ji-Han are cats, Ollie is a dog, and Gobbie is a little mouse.

v What is your favorite doll size?

 

^ Classic SD size, the 55-62cm range. I just love them. Much smaller than that and I get a little bored by their lack of presence, much bigger and they get a bit unwieldy. But that classic SD size is just perfect for toting around in the crook of your arm or in a big tote bag (I'm a big tote person), a comfortable sort of size to have in your lap at the computer or while watching TV, their little hands are the right size to grab hold of one of your fingers, and they're just perfect for me. X3 I'm crazy fond of my extra-tiny doll though, because she's fun to put in a glasses case and can live in a dollhouse. But I wouldn't want more than one or two her size because I'd be afraid of misplacing them!

< I'm tired of being sick from stress. So tired of it.

v I'm curious to see what other people's answers are: What is your favorite doll size?

 

^ Slim mini, here! Though I do have a fondness for yo-size tinies, it's the slim minis I love the most. They have the perfect (for me) balance of size, presence, and style. I tend to like the more "classic" stylized aesthetic, and while minis can get a little childish looking, it's easier to find the softer stylized look with them than with the bigger ones that are getting more realistic. (I also have a soft spot for classic SD size, but get uncomfortable as they get bigger.)

< Ugh, a week without a working workstation... Please let today be the day when things finally just work!

< I really hate making heads share a body. I keep thinking "I'm gonna photograph them together in matching outfits" but then I remember I can't. Not without photoshop at least.

V what are you currently working on/ planning to work on next (related to dolls) ?

 

^ Making Bob's body, finishing Drew's roombox, and looking at shells for a character.

< WHY DID THE GAME HAVE THAT ENDING W H Y

v Your doll gets a game they start playing as a joke. It overall looks ridiculous so they figure why not and start it. They start playing and actually get really attached to a certain character. They help the character, talk with them, get them a gift, and the character likes them a lot. THEN PLOT TWIST THAT CHARACTER DIES what does your doll do??

 

^ Ian would probably stare for a few minutes straight at the death scene, then save and quit the game and probably ramble to his friend Austin about it. He might not pick that game back up for weeks, and he'd be kind of salty about the character dying the whole time.

v Have you ever restrung your doll? If yes, did you actually do it correctly?

 

^ Almost every single one of them, and... Almost every time! I had one who, for the longest time, I couldn't figure out why her arms were so wonky. She'd been shipped in pieces, and it turned out that when I assembled her, I accidentally switched her upper arms. And another, I couldn't figure out why his new leg string was so tight, until I realized I'd mixed up the strings and it was the one for his arms... Whoops.

< So nice to be back to work at last! No more computer fights!

v What does your doll do for a living, and do they like it?

 

^ Christian is a high school teacher, and he almost doesn't hate it most of the time. XD It's all the not-teaching related paperwork and functions that drive him nuts. Standing in front of a class and lecturing on a subject, fielding questions, interacting with the students, he likes that part just fine. He'd still rather be a full-time musician and wizard though. But those don't pay the bills as well.

< I'm practically living in the van at this point and I am tired of it! Go here, go there, run another errand...so tired of the van, especially since it's warm again and the air conditioning doesn't work.

v What's your doll's preferred mode of transport?

 

^Whoops, late
Drew likes buses and trains, Bob likes planes and supernatural modes of transport

^^ Drew does a lot of part time jobs and is an assistant herbalist. He's easily distracted so he struggles a lot when it comes to keeping up with the herbology work and he's incredibly easily exhausted socially so yeaaahh. It isn't his favorite.
Bob is an all powerful god like being who works at Wendy's. It absolutely is his favorite.

v What would be the true meaning of hell for your doll?

 

^ (This could apply to most of mine actually, but...) It's pure hell for Tahmos when he loses complete control of a situation, especially if he's being held captive or something of the sorts, and an opposing force is enforcing things that he opposes upon him against his will. In other words...he hates feeling like a trapped animal being cruelly played with by his captor.

< I don't think anyone really likes losing control of their situation completely like that though...

V One of your crew has been trapped inside a haunted carnival with ghoulish clowns and demonic beasts roaming its grounds and holding them hostage. Another one from your crew has made a vow to rescue them at any cost. Who is the damsel, and who is their rescuer?

 

^ Elliot is the damsel, Ollie is the rescuer. And of course, Ji-Han and Gobbie would help her. I don't think Elliot would be happy with having to be rescued though.

v Interesting question. So, one of your crew has been trapped inside a haunted carnival with ghoulish clowns and demonic beasts roaming its grounds and holding them hostage. Another one from your crew has made a vow to rescue them at any cost. Who is the damsel, and who is their rescuer?

 

^hello one-shot idea! There's a few possible combos... I'm going to say, as ever, it's Cacophony who does a stupid thing and ticks off someone who throws him in demon-carnival mayhem-ville. Euphony hates using his powers, so he tries to get some leverage with Rina, who is having none of it, so he steals a few of her cursed objects cause he knows she can't actually kill him. Meanwhile, his twin Tacet finds out, straps on her big fancy stone harness and storms down there, all she with eyes of fire. So while euohony is on the north end, struggling and getting into messy fistfights with demonic clowns and probably having to use magic to save his life, Tacet is magically making them part like the Red Sea.

She gets there first and starts to untie him when, bloody, bruised and smouldering comes her twin, who would like her off his lover. Despite there being demons and clowns and scary things around, these two start to throw down, in the middle of the circus building, where C was being held. And they break it until they find out their energy is drawing in demons and clowns. They work together to save Cacophony and then a lot of very in called for insults are traded as they try to determine who he goes home with. He of course chooses Euphony, his lover, as one would.

Tacet wants to throw both of them back with the clowns.

< tacet's backstory is bleak. 24 hours of hell and she's still fighting.

V how far would your doll's character go to impress the one they most care about impressing?

 

^ Pre-accident Carlos would have gone above and beyond, no matter what the risk to himself. Chris would keep trying to impress them until someone (preferrably them) told her she didn't have to. Katie doesn't do that whole "impressing people" thing at all.

< Free time and faceup friendly weather? Could this be real?

v What's your doll's idea of a perfect Sunday?

 

^ For Hazel and Cole, it would be a day they could spend together, free of all responsibilities save making each other happy.

< I have my first ever toothache! The crazy thing is that I'm more upset about spending the money I've been saving toward a doll on the dentist than I am over the fact that something's wrong with my tooth.

v How does your doll's character respond to pain?

 

^ Oh. Pain is something unknown to my dolls... they're in a state of permanent bliss.

v what's your main reason for collecting dolls?

 

^ 'Cause they're cool, really. I like being able to represent my characters, becausw I'm not a great artist. Plus having something physical of my characters is really fun. Aaand I like taking pictures, so having subjects for that is awesome. I like pretty much everything about it, honestly.

< I really need to stop looking at dolls... No more resin till 2018!

v Your doll/character just got a new apartment! In what style would they decorate it? Do they want to do it all themselves, or would they need help?

 

^Vampires new den would be Halloween 24/7. They don't care if it is cliche or not. They would visit all the Halloween shops and stock up on everything except fake blood.

< Waiting for the Package to be delivered is painful, they sent it east first before it went west,????

v Your character just got a new friend would it be a best buddy, a long lost relative or a new love interest?

 

^ Best buddy, most likely. For love interests either they need to be pre-existing, or the sculpts must really "click".

< Faith-in-humanity-meter: Low but slowly rising. Why oh why are people so weird.

v What has or hasn't changed for you since starting the hobby? (e.g. for me faceups have always been a bonding experience, and that has not changed at all.)

 

^ What's changed most is what I'll buy. Originally I was adamantly "no humans, nothing that's not an existing OC, nothing bigger than an MSD, nothing out of scale with the first one." I've changed on every one of those points. I also wasn't big on body blushing early on, but bite I love the look and love doing it. On the flip side, I still love my fantasy sculpts, and I've never really been intimidated by (standard) stringing.

< I suppose it's for the best it's raining, I could use a rest day instead of a walk after the weekend...

v How does your doll like spending a rainy day?

 

^ Reito loves spending rainy days inside... He doesn't like the cold or rain or anything related to it! He's pretty annoyed by it. He prefers summer days with lots of sun. He doesn't know how to spend time on his own inside though so he mostly sleeps or watches videos and stuff then... Synti on the other hand loves the rain! The little bunny loves hopping around in it and jump into puddles and all those things! =3

< Just 35 minutes to go... Then the day is over and I can head home...!!

v Who is your most recent addition to your dolly family? Tell a bit about the plans you have with him/her!

 

^I actually have not had new resin sice last year. Too much has happened so i haven't been able to afford a new doll. No new dolls till next year unfortunately.

< my next check is going to be pathetic if they keep sending me home early cuz it's slow. I need hours doesn't the universe know i have expensive hobbies?

v how many dolls on average do you tend to buy a year?

 

^ One and a half. Yes, half.

> I can almost forget that I lost my phone.

v Your doll has lost something important. What is it and how do they react?

 

^ John lost a good chunk of his memories. Including his real name, birthday and most of the factual details of his life. He tried to get it back and made it worse....so now he just deals. And complains because he can't remember where and how to get to his money.

> Going out for sushi tonight!! I can't wait! Also forgot my watch so now I have no idea what time it is, how many steps I've got or if my phone is ringing.....technology....

^ tacet

1. Is technically bi but has never had a healthy relationship with a man
2. Naturally has red hair but bleached it pink
3. Kidnapped a god once (it was fun)
4. Hates her only living family members
5. Is in a stable relationship for the first time ever

V who is your newest arrival and what are your plans for them?

 

^ My newest one is Synti, my dollzone Senna that I am the second owner of now. I've a pretty good plan for her. Since she's having the 'creepy' company face up her name is telling everything! (Synti means sin, it's finnish... o3o google was my friend when looking up the name...) She is the personification of all sins ever inflicted on one character coming into my dolly group in the future. So she is carrying them inside herself and he doesn't have to suffer that much because of them. She's a little demon and that way a connection between my SD group plans and my MSD group plans... XD

< Need to sew clothes for Synti... Just thought about it while tipping this...

v Tell us a bit about your doll(s) everyday life? Do they've a job? Go to school? et cetera?

 

^Two of my dolls are Little Sisters from Bioshock. Their days consist of traveling with Mr. Bubbles, extracting Adam from angels, and hiding from anyone who isn't Mr. Bubbles and Mama Tenenbaum.

<I overate at lunch and am still full. It was tasty, hence worth it.

V How many OC dolls do you have compared to fan dolls or dolls with no particular persona?

 

^ With the exception for Undertaker and Mamoru all of these critters are OCs. Some are no longer here so I need to update my photo.


<Have to work on the carnival set. yikes! Heavy on the mosquito spray.

v Indoor photos are hard without enough light; what have you used to compensate, other than using your camera flash?

 

^ I don't like taking pictures inside, but when I do I always take photos as close to windows as possible. I wouldn't mind having a little photo setup with filtered lights or something, but I haven't gotten around to that since I like taking pictures outside anyway.

< I want Nikolai's body to be hereeee... I want my first big boy.

v What size BJD did you start with? When you got another size, how did you feel about it? (Bonus: What's your favorite BJD size?)

 

^ My first was a Bobobie mini, and that's still my favorite size. My first non-1/4 doll was a Puki, but since she was meant to be kind of a pet/animal figure, I didn't really consider her as a distinct size (and I still only have two in that teeny tiny scale), so the first time I really deviated from 1/4 or things that I felt scaled well with 1/4 was with my first LittleFee. I didn't want something in a different scale, I really didn't want to get something that didn't fit with the rest of my dolls, but he just kept calling to me, so I told myself "Okay, just one" and put in the order.

Now I have seven LTFs and three Soom TGs.

< Mermaid-themed blanket is looking good so far... and working up fast, but I still don't know if just two balls of yarn is going to be enough.

v What type of fantasy sculpt (existing or otherwise) would you most like to add to your collection?

 

^ A kirin fantasy sculpt, I've been wanting something like that for a while now.

v how does your doll character motivate themelves into getting something done?

 

^Depends on what it is. For Tahmos, if it's something he enjoys, he'll get right on it without any needed extra pressure. Something he doesn't enjoy doing, however...Nira or Aqqen have to strategically talk him into doing it, or he won't.

< Speaking of motivation, I haven't been very motivated lately. Plus---school...

V Your character is going through a mid-life crisis. Their job/career/college degree no longer seems to be the right path for them, and they're freaking out about it. Which character is going through this, and how do they deal with it?

 

^ I guess Jia (my bodyless Illusion Spirit Xiao Ji) would be most likely to go through such a phase... He's working at his god-father's bar as a bar keeper but if the bar gets shut down he has no perspective in life at all... Now if we do assume it gets closed down not only he but some other of my characters would lose their kind of second home/base of operation... But Jia is the only one officially working their and without that job he'd basically have no place to stay at all because unlike the others he doesn't even have an apartment or so but simply lives in the back of the bar which is a dance school going out to another street in the back of the house. He'd probably end up living on the streets because he'd refuse to go live at his friends' place... And going back to his family is no option since he hates his father... Also he'd have a hard time finding a new job since he has no proper education... He dropped out of school only a few months prior to his final exams... Still he'd not have an all to bad life I guess since even though he won't stay at his friends' place he still would drop by to get a shower or some food or new clothes and all... XD So his only problem would be a sleeping place... But if you're a person like Jia even that wouldn't be much of a problem... If you understand... X.X

v I can't come up with anything special right now so simple stuff... Does your doll(s) have siblings? And if yes are they already shelled in some doll as well? (Maybe share a pic of some siblings you have if you want to as well =3)

 

^ I was tempted to give Elliot a brother, a DS Saint, but I've decided at the moment that it would be too pricey, especially since I would also want to shell his girlfriend. So no, no siblings right now. I refer to their relationship to each other as being roommates.

v One of your characters has a surprise trip sprung on them. How do they react?

 

^ my Venitu doesn't like it because he had planned to go surfing. My Chloe is unenthusiastic because she hates enclosed spaces. My Newkiru speculates she could get dressing tips. My Gray wonders whether feats of skills, such as archery, will be center stage and my Nanuri is trying to pass unnoticed because the last time he went to the cinema, he was deaf for 2 days due to loud noises.

< knackered. But the weather was lovely.

V There is limited amount of cash in the house. Who decides what to eat and what is it?

 

^ Mara decides because she's the most experienced / talented one in the kitchen. On her orders, pasta and fresh vegetables are being bought (at the market, some of it at a discount because it looks a bit battered) and she makes a yummy meal out of it.

< Where did this cold / flu come from? At least this time it's before the holidays, not in them, but I still had plans. -.-

v Describe your doll('s character)'s typical day.

 

^ Elliot: Wake up, eat, read, go online, read, go online some more, eat, write a bit, read, eat, sleep. Once I can get the others, his life should get a bit more exciting.
