the Teddy Bears Picnic If you go out in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise. If you go out in the woods today, you'd better go in disguise. For every bear that ever there was, will gather there for certain, because Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic. Picnic time for teddy bears. The little teddy bears are having a lovely time today. Watch them, catch them unawares, and see them picnic on their holiday. See them gaily dance about. They love to play and shout. And never have any cares. At six o'clock their mommies and daddies, will take them home to bed Because they're tired little teddy bears. If you go out in the woods today, you'd better not go alone. It's lovely out in the woods today, but safer to stay at home. For every bear that ever there was. will gather there for certain, because Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic Every teddy bear, that's been good, is sure of a treat today There's lots of wonderful things to eat, and wonderful games to play Beneath the trees, where nobody sees, they'll hide and seek as long as they please Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic ~ Jimmy Kennedy (1902-1984), British lyricist Invitations had been sent, and children started arriving with their teddy bears..... Bonnie and Elin brought a whole wagon full of teddies..... The others were already there with their Teddies. They had laid out a picnic cloth, set up a table covered with all kinds of treats - sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, and all manner of yummy cakes and pastries. What fun this was going to be! The children and all their teddies were having a fine time at their picnic..... Erzulie was trying to decide which donut to choose.... ...and Elin was about to reach for a hotdog.... ....when suddenly there was a noise behind them, and they all turned to look.... "It's a BEAR!!!" ...a big black bear looking directly at them..... "He's coming this way!!!"
"Everybody RUN!!!!" They all got out of there as fast as they could..... .....leaving behind all their teddies.....and all the food....... The children ran from the bear, but when they realized he isn't following them, they turned and peered from the bushes to see what he was up to... The bear had made himself comfortable on their bench, and was sampling all their treats..... Efreet had had enough. "The park ranger says people should never run from a bear, but should back away slowly. If it charges them, they should confront it, making themselves as big as possible, and yelling loudly, to scare it off. There's six of us, and just one of him, and he's eating all our food! I'm going to go scare him off. Who's coming with me?" Erzulie and Bonnie went with Efreet to confront the bear. "Hey you! Bear! What are you doing eating all our treats> Who do you think you are invading on our picnic like this?!? You weren't invited! We don't want you here! GO AWAY!!!!!!"
The bear started to cry. "I'm so sorry, " he sobbed. "I didn't mean to scare anyone, or chase you away. I was hungry and lonely, and so happy to see you all. A couple of days ago, my Mom left to look for berries.....and she never came back. I went to look for her, but couldn't find her. Then I heard you in the woods, and I smelled all the delicious food. I was so happy, and hoping you might share some...." "Oh my!", said Nami, "That's so sad! I had no idea." "You poor bear! You must be starving! Of course we'll share with you...." ...and Erzulie offered him the biggest slice of watermelon they had.... The bear wiped away his tears, and took the watermelon, as Erzulie sat down beside him... Efreet straightened up all the teddies that had been knocked over, and sat down too. Bonnie and Byuri also came and joined them. Byuri picked up all the spilled donuts and put them back into the box, and Bonnie helped herself to a hotdog. Everyone was happy to get back to their picnic.....and that they had made a new friend.... ...except for Elin, who was still cautiously watching from the bushes.
Bueatyfull pictures. You put a lot of thought into them. The propls are lovely, and the interaction of all your dolls is so cute. The story is very sweet, too. Thanks for such a sweet treat^^
Thank you! I love playing with my smaller Iplehouse dolls. I was going to shoot just one or two Teddy Bear Picnic photos, but decided to make it a little story instead. Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.
This is fantastic! Lovely story, wonderful dolls, clothing and props and beautiful photographs! It made my day. A friend actually sent me a link to this post to be sure I saw it, as she knew I'd love it
Thank you all so much! My husband and I had a fun time shooting this story on a recent trip up north - me basically setting up the rough scenes, then lying down on the rocky path and ordering him around to fine tune everyone. I had originally intended to just have the little kids having a teddy bear picnic in the woods, but when we stopped at a Trading Post along the way up north, I spotted this adorable black bear, and worked a story around him.
Classic tale, great poses, adorable dolls and outfits and of course, TEDDY BEARS! What's not to love? Excellent work!
This is so sweet! I really love the children's book feel about the pictures and the story! Everything is so nice and brightly colored and adorable!
Thank you! I have such fun with these small dolls! Thank You! I'm so glad you liked it! Thank you! I knew the woods up north would be the perfect spot to shoot this little story.
How adorable! And quite a bit nostalgic for me, I had a class in elementary school that staged a teddy bear picnic in much the same way, so it brings back a lot of fond memories I hope Elin got over her fear of the bear!
My goodness, this is adorable. I felt like I was reading a children's storybook the entire time. Great use of props and a cute story idea!
That's so sweet! Yes, I believe Elin did eventually join in. Thank you! Maybe some day I will get it made into a book. Thanks! It was a lot of fun to do.
Me too! But that takes a lot of work, and time. One of these days I would like to get some doll books made.
Really cute photostory! Loved specially the pictures when everybody turns when they hear the noise and the picture of the bear crying - sooo freaking cute XD
You have so many fantastic props! Must admit, my favourite photo is with the children telling off the naughty teddy bear. Great job! Each photograph has been executed brilliantly. x
Oh my god, this is so precious ~ I love how all the little teddies are the prefect size for your dolls.
Thats completly adorable. The photos are perfect and I love all the props! And oh my so many teddies! Loved seeing this
Thank you everyone! I was away on holidays for three weeks, and can't believe how many comments were made during that time. Took lots of doll photos on our travels, so they will be showing up soon.
Heh heh. I didn't' know anyone else knew that song! It was my tAlent show go to when i was a kid! Thanks for the sweet reminder.
Wonderful story, you must have had such fun making it. Thanks for sharing it with us, it was a pure delight
Thank you! yes, it's fun setting up and taking the photos, but it's even more fun seeing how the photos turned out. Thank you! Thank you so much! I'm glad you like everything.
OMG!!! What a awesome Story...all the work to make this...well done. I love it !!!! each Doll is so beautiful.
I love that little bear too! I'm so glad he was the only black bear the right size at the Trading Post on our way up north. We had skipped the first Trading Post, but stopped there on our way back home several days later, but I'm glad we did skip it on the way up, since what I was really looking for was a realistic in scale black bear, and that other Trading Post had lots of them. I'm so glad I ended up with the 'teddy Bear" black bear, since he was so much more fun to work into the story. Thanks so much! Thanks! It was a lot of work, but the hardest part was finding a suitable setting since most things in nature are way too big for the tiny dolls. I found the perfect spot in some blueberry bushes at the side of a rocky path. Perfect scale little bushes and trees.
