Special Event The Spirit of Fellowship: Adopt a Newbie!

I am so excited to have gotten a newbie! I signed up for three but only had one good match. I'm going to spend Labor Day going through aaaaaalll of my hoards. My very first doll was the same size as my newbie's, so I've accumulated a ton of stuff in that size.

 

My peeps' boxes are on the move!

If the postal clerk was right, they ought to have them this weekend. 'Fingers crossed that they can use the goodies I sent.

Sent my newbies parcel this morning ! Hope it doesnt take too long to get to them, but I really hope they like what I sent.

 

Well i'm sure any Newbie will appriciate everything that there getting, at least i know i will. I know i wasn't to picky, only had 2 items on the list. And i opted for that lovely suprise option. I'm keeping my eyes open for the upcoming week.

Sent my newbie package out today! I had so much fun putting everything together! I hope they like it and can use the things I sent!!!

I got one who doesn't match anything I have at all. How did that happen? Still, I have a lot of experience prepping stuff for dolls I don't have and having it work out okay, so....

 

My Newbie's package is all together and ready for shipment tomorrow morning!
Ended up sending more props and only one outfit, but I really hope she likes them!

 

My newbie package also went out today. I currently do not own MSD size dolls, but luckily had enough stuff left to put together a fairly complete selection of things I hope my newbie can use.
This was definitely fun and I hope it is successful enough to do again next year.

 

Uwah~ I hope I didn't sound too cold in my form ;_; I didn't know what to say.

Also, I just want to say how much I appreciate all the Oldies for what they are doing for us Newbies. ( ˘ ³˘)♥

I hope I managed to match up well with someone. I feel like I was really cold and unhelpful in my form too, but I didn't want to seem like I was asking for too much or anything like that!
This is such a nice idea though! (:

 

My match that got chosen was the size I have the least amount of stuff for, and none of the stuff I have would fit their tastes, I feel. I've kind of been running in circles trying to find some neat things to send on, but I feel like I've hit a brick wall. I hope they aren't overly disappointed. It seems like there was a shortage of veterans for that particular size, even though we have more veterans than newbies!

 

I also really hope this event is held again In the future (maybe early next year) as I did really want to join but just saw it too late , this event really helps people like me who only have a jumper and (kindof) hat for their future bjd . Though, I think the criteria for being a newbie should be a bit longer. I joined DOA in July, but I'm not going to have a bjd until early next year. So if there is another event held, I would have been on the forum for (most likely) more than 6 months but have only actually owned a bjd for a very short time (or might not have one yet). Then, if I couldn't join because I had been on DOA more than 6 months I would be really really sad.

 

I'm still going through stuff and deciding what to send. I'm finding lots of things that I forgot I had (or don't even remember getting) so it's a bit like finding presents for myself!

 

As a newbie I am grateful for whatever comes. Please don't stress about it.

I got my package today Thank you to [MENTION=336]babytarragon[/MENTION] for the lovely outfits. They are exactly what I would have chosen if I'd been buying them myself. The pink and white crochet top is my own work. Here's my Littlefee, Harley, modelling her new wardrobe.

 

Oh, how exciting!!! Those outfits for Harley are precious! She looks like a happy little girl!

 

Yeah I've found some things I think will work. I might even sew a little since I do have fabric already on hand anyway.

I also have a Little Monica HH Luisie but she arrived with the sleeping Lucile face instead and so she's still in her box. I can't seem to bond with her properly but the dealer tells me that a new face/head is on the way. Harley's going to have to share when that arrives.

Well, one of my two has gotten their box... The other's was delivered according to the post office, but I haven't heard from them. Hopefully it also arrived safely.

 

I've finished putting together the goody box of stuff I am mailing out! This is fun, it's like Christmas!

 

The box I sent is full of really random stuff. Hoping at least a couple of the items will please my newbie, and that they can regift the rest!

Tracking says that my newbie's package left the US on September 5, so now it's up to Canada Post!

 

My newbie received his package on Saturday.

 

My package cleared Canadian Customs! It'll probably be delivered tomorrow(I think/hope)! Gah, the butterflies, they are invading my stomach!

 

My newbie package arrived yesterday! Hmm.. I wonder if we could maybe post here/start a new thread somewhere where us newbies can post our dolls with some of the items we received + a thank you message? I just don't want to spam the wrong thread X)

Yes! It arrived yesterday but I didn't get a chance to open it until today! Thank you so much for all the lovely gifts, I plan to use everything! I'm amazed how just a little bit of clothes, hair, and accessories really goes a long way. I'm thinking of ways to incorporate the jewelry you sent with his outfit. Hmm, and now that I have three wigs...It's time to buy more dolls, haha!

Oh I'm SOOO glad you can use this stuff! Especially those eyes - I thought them so cool but nobody in my crew wanted to wear them LOL Those wigs all look good on him & so does the turtleneck

Mine went out today, too, also international. I dithered over what to send and ended up going with an American theme, at least in part. I just hope it doesn't dissapoint!
