Wearables The Sewing Project! - [ Rounds 1 - 5 ]

Wonderful costumes!! I just got my Pipos Mecy and I am attempting to make him a set of leather armor in time for Halloween at the Renn Faire this weekend! I am using 2 oz black sheepskin leather that's very soft and slightly stretchy, I will post a picture of the completed outfit one I'm done. :3

 

I have my outfit done on Monday when my Adela arrives I shall post her in it.

 

Finally done!!
Here's my Badass Barbarian Bunny!
He's using a Sting letter opener as a claymore. I made everything here except the bracelet I modified to hold the sword on his back, his shoes and the letter opener.

I've been incredibly inactive in this thread this time around, but I've been keeping up! I got my patterns made early on and have been working on the outfit over the weekends. I just finished the last of it today and as soon as I get the final picture off my camera, I'll be able to post it.

In the meantime, here's a (rather late in the game) picture of my fabric. Sadly I never used any of the top one.

HI guys !
I've accumulate an indecent amount of undone doll work here but I wanna show you one of the project for this round that for once went OK.

They are a bit more intense in realty and are caching light really well. They are somewhere between indigo blue and light navy.The Doctor Who fan in me, is wanting to call them Tardis blue.
Well I hope that I will be done with the dress tomorrow, and that the staff will be ready to paint by the morning so I can take my doll to an Halloween theme wedding party I'm going.

 

I love those eyes. They are so pretty.

This is the BEST thread.
I'm so glad I got my costumes done early or I would have been utterly intimidated by all the wonderful work posted since.
I've got TWO ideas for the Winter Wonderland - I'll pile on when the 5th rolls around. I might be on Federal jury duty most of November, so that's going to cut into my sewing time. I'll just have to be super efficient.

 

i want to sew him new clothes >< but i dont have time. i just made a coat and asked my friend to help me ahaha but when im inspired i get things done and sew sew all i can !

 

New theme sounds great. But I need to finish a swap before I can start a new project. But with some luck I can enter this one too. It is really nice to see other people working there project while your doing yours.

 

Done already? And I'm counting on being done by friday with my outfit, two days late eh? xD

 

Outdoor adventures!

Regina is going ice skating (Impldoll Antonia on ResinSoul 1/3 girl body - right pic in my sig line))

Regina's outfit will look most like the center one, but with a hood. If I quilt it it will only be the front of the jacket.
Royal blue with white accents.

Amelia is going skiing (Impldoll Erica on Impldoll Model body - left pic in sig)

Amelia's ski suit will look like the middle one. Navy pants and a deep red jacket.

I have a skirt pattern usable for the skating outfit, and a pants pattern I can alter for the ski outfit. I've already drafted a pattern for a jacket, which I can easily alter for both outfits.
I won't be making ice skates so we'll pretend that Regina is going to use the old-fashioned strap on kind, but I will try making skate and ski boots and skis and poles.

Square toe boots like on the right.


The skis will be old-school wooden ones. I don't know that I'll be able to fabricate the old metal "ankle-breaker" bindings but I'll try, defaulting to primitive leather bindings if necessary.

That's all and that's plenty!

I'll probably be making him a dress of some sort all while I save up to find someone in my home town who is inexpensive enough for me to use xD (For me to Yuz? XD haha). Maybe a shirt and skirt, or even a dress, something in soft blues and whites, or even some festive designs. Probably the blues even though I'd love to have gone pink, but that's not very Wintery-- Then again! Well, we'll see :3. A nice festive dress wouldn't do him so badly. I'll be using my own patterning and such and save for his decency skirt, I haven't sewn doll clothes yet!

Anyway here he is :3. We're waiting for his new clothes and a proper brush to wander in~ . I was in the middle of doing his measurements and just COULDN'T Even wait! So he's wearing my breast cancer wristlet xD;

This challenge ends on the same day as most of my finals at university, so the timing is bad, for me, but I'm going to enter anyway! I love winter fashions and Angelina doesn't have any real winter clothes yet.

I'm going to be sewing, once again, for Angelina, my DoC Leya. (Hopefully her new friend will arrive before Christmas and in time for the next challenge, though!)


EDIT: I finally decided what to make and began working on it!

Outfit will include:
~ Leggings
~ Extra-long, long-sleeved shirt
~ Winter vest
~ Scarf
~ And I'm going to attempt some winter boots

I want to make something that is wintery, princess, glamorous. (Still in the process of drawing it)

I drafted a pattern still it needs some modifications =)

I'll be playing along from the sidelines, but I'm not sure I'll finish in time... I have an evil exam coming up.

I'd love to join, but I'll be doll-less for another week or so ... and I can't start with the patterns until my girl gets here. Is it okay if I jump in later? I've already got the fabrics, so that buys me some time in week 2 ...

If I can still join, I'll be sewing for my Iplehouse Stella, and she'll get a complete winter set (pants, pullover, coat, maybe a hat to go with the lot), and hopefully a pair of shoes ... ambitious much?

 

Fabrics for the two outfits. How could I resist a sale price on snow-flake print! It will be Regina's skating skirt. The solid blue will be Amelia's ski pants and Regina's skating jacket. The red will be Amelia's ski jacket.
I am avoiding thinking about shoes and skis.

Going clockwise:
In the top left there's white polar fleece for the jacket that might or might not get faux fur collar and cuffs (I'm not sure the faux fur in my stash is well-behaved enough to work in doll scale).
The violet knit will become a pullover or maybe even a knit dress. It looks a lot more blue in the picture than it actually is ... please excuse le crappy camera.
Bottom right: Faux suede for the boots / shoes ... I'm going to try and make something similar to a pair of winter boots I have. Will show pics if the forum allows me to upload them.
And the bottom left: pants fabric. Nice stretchy cotton-something I found in one of my boxes. Should make a nice fit.

I ditched my original plans when I realized they were way more fall than winter I blame the wonderful weather we've been having, sunny and golden and not a trace of winter to be seen ... trying for a more "wintery" mood, the planned coat will be a jacket instead, and white instead of camel brown-ish.

(Some of the extra material for the shoes is not pictured, mostly because my hobby room is both too cluttered and too dark to actually take pictures in (le camera and artificial light don't like each other) and I didn't want to drag the whole stuff to the living room and try to keep the cats away from the small parts )

 

I managed to get my fabrics altogether and find some really nice fur at the indoor market It looks kind of yellow here but the colours are white, cream and red
I sorted out my patterns too and im off to sew.....

love! cant believe i havent noticed this thread before, always collect pictures of outfits i would love to make and keep a list of projects but that is usually as far as i get. this is exactly what i need to keep me inspired. am now stalking this thread and hope to participate next time.
