The "set" is made of various cables, a black sweater and random black fabric cuttings, some shelving parts, a cheap lamp, fairy lights and a piece of glass. I love shooting dolls because they are so small and allow me to set up stuff like this!

I recently rewatched Chobits and haaaaad to make my own little Chii. I first watched the anime around the time I found out about BJDs, and Asa is made of very old parts probably produced around the same time so it only made sense to use her. The outfit was done for this month's sewing challenge if you want to see the WIP images.

Thank you @aihre ! I think Chobits has a lot of overlap with bjds in a way so I definitely recommend watching it! It is a sad and sweet story and I'm glad it also came through in the photos

Thank you! I was also led to bjds through chobits in some ways and found it very fun to see the parallels between persocoms and dolls after rewatching the series! So cool to still meet chobits fans

 

Indeed! I guess if Volks did the Chobits collab later on, after DDs were already a thing, we would have probably gotten some more characters too (come on Kotoko when???)... but no such luck

 

I agree, Unoas have this very 00s future nostalgia in them - but at the same time, they feel very fitting in the present as well. I'm still quite smitten by how Mr Araki managed to make such ageless and detailed faces!
