I have submitted! I had actually given up until last night because I couldn't find any materials that worked for me. But I couldn't stop thinking about the challenge, so I just gave it a try …

Yep... Just got home from work.... getting started now. But apparently something doesnt want me to finish because I just walked in the door to my cat mauling to death the wig I'd chosen for my doll to wear x.x Luckily so far it seems savable... but I'm really upset about it because it's my favorite wig I own too :/

I came home from work and crashed. I think it's about to be dinner time and then it's gonna be full-throttle finish up time x_X It -shouldn't- take that long to finish this thing, but who even knows til it's done.

 

Luckily I managed to save it. I think I got home just in time. It was mostly just matted. Lost a tiny bit of fibers when I combed it.... but thanks to some heat resistant spray and a little hair dryer action, It looks as good as new. Maybe a little bit fluffier from being slightly more static-y and the fibers not being as tight together.... but it no longer looks like a rats nest... so at least that's a plus.

 

I'm finally done! I'm nervous about submitting these photos though cuz I tried google drive and that flopped :/ guess I'll try a private tumblr when I get home from work.... This is making me so anxious lol

 

Just make a private imgur album. It's easy and it has an editing feature that lets you resize images

I know what you mean! I took about 40 pics, and now we have to chose so few! The collage always gets me, cuz I try to put too much in it! Ah well, got it done this time. Can't wait to see everyone's looks, and hear the next challenge!

Hey guys I was reading about purchased materials while I was submitting my form.... I did use some things that were purchased a long time ago and that I just had laying around for about a year. Hope that's ok... now I'm worried.... I don't keep old receipts.

Edit: never mind I read through old posts a mod said it was fine

 

I actually entered! I know I won't be as great as everyone else but it was a lot of fun! I hope I did everything right, I'm so bad at tech stuff that I'm not sure I entered right! Is there going to be any way to see if I am qualified or do I just wait to see if I'm on the list?

Just finally entered all my links etc for the triathalon contest why does it say that I cant perform this task when I click the final button at bottom? this is SO frustrating

welp.... I've given up on entering again this year. I've lost my needle and thread.... it has invisible thread on it too which means I'm having to tip toe around my living room in hopes that I dont step on it x.x I got about half of the torso bit of my entry done... looks like crap.... really should finally sit down and learn how to use the sewing machine I've had for like 2 years that is still in it's box.... would have been done by now. lol. She's also missing her bottoms and a couple other pieces I wanted to do. With the end less than an hour away, it is not going to happen. I think I shall still finish it for fun and maybe post it after the triathlon is over.... but for now... maybe I'll just try my hand at another contest.

Anyone that received an error when submitting your entry in the last 15 minutes or so, please, submit the form again if you're not sure it went through. You can also ask in Ask the Moderators and we can check to make sure it was received. There was an error with the form but it's been resolved. You still have 20 minutes!

 

*sigh* I was so close to being able to enter Worked all night (it's almost 5 in the morning here sooo tired) and then sewing machine chewed up my piece so badly, I couldn't fix it enough to get pics ready on time. It was looking so good before then too .

Oh well, first attempt to join in ends in failure... Guess I'll just be joining you guys for fun instead (if I can fix this mess haha) Think I'll focus on one of the other competitions instead... Hmm the avatar design or couture outfit? I guess I'll decide once I've had some sleep .

Hey at least you arent the only one that ran into problems! We gave it our best. Might as well hang out and see what everyone else entered and maybe just finish ours for fun or do something else :P

I tried using fabric glue in place of sewing... wasnt drying fast enough and just looked crappy with my fabric choice. Plus my outfit was rather fitted so that didnt help matters any. And the thread I was using wasnt regular thread so it wasnt working how I wanted it to. Reminds me more of fishing line. It says it is sewing thread though x.x

 

Congratulations to everyone that made it through round one! I always forget just how intense this ends up being for me...it's like crafting-for-dolls bootcamp, haha. And everyone who worked hard and still didn't make it, you can still be proud of what you did and you gained skill doing it even if it didn't work out!

 

Help! I was trying to load and the whole browser crashed is there anyway I can see if my entry was recieved?!

Never tried fabric glue, but that thread I have. So horrible to work with in sewing, but comes in handy for uni course work Awesome for 'ghostly' movement on videos. For a class project I made a toy ouija board move 'by itself' lol. Definitely like fishing line haha

 

lol. yeah... I do like it for other purposes.... and it kind of works as thread but not really with the fabric I have. Plus my fabric kept fraying too so I was trying to sew and use fray check on it etc all at the same time XD

 

I totally lost track of time and ultimately I was unable to enter. Actually when I realized it was after the deadline I nearly cried, haha. Since this feeble attempt took me so many painful hours of trial and error (especially on the helmet!), I wanted to share a photo with you all. Here is my special guy, nicknamed "Turtle," hanging out with a puffer fish full of jelly beans (you know I was rushing because I smeared the wet paint on the puffer fish... so bad with deadlines):

I'm feeling paranoid cause I never saw any messages after I submitted.
