The first BJD you ever wanted vs the first BJD you got.

the doll that first got my attention was the Iplehouse Zera and she is my grail doll I will have her some day! But the first bjd I ever got was my fantasy doll Pamela and I love her to pieces she is jsut the cutest thing on the planet

 

The first doll I ever loved was DoT Homme Ducan, back in 2004 when I first met a BJD and Drem of Doll was the first store I ever met! However, the first doll I got was a DoC U that I've bought second hand just to be sure I was going to enjoy it before just jumping into the resin world. I still would love to get a Homme Ducan and maybe I'll buy him someday, but my priorities on tho hobby has changed quite a lot during these almost 10 years, so I think I might admire him on other collector's hands and maybe one day I'll buy one for me.

 

The first BJD that ever grabbed my attention (he did more than that -- he provoked a profound emotional response in me) was Luts SDF Karis. I stumbled across him while innocently scrolling along the Luts website, wig shopping for an off-topic doll.

The first BJD I bought was an Iplehouse Pixxie Blooming. Like Karis, she elicits a deep emotional reaction for me. I bought her because she's 1) less expensive and 2) smaller than a Senior Delf. That way, if for some odd reason I decide I don't like BJDs, or if I become enchanted with smaller ones, I'm not as heavily invested with a fairly large doll as I would be had I purchased Karis. He is absolutely next on my list, though!

The first BJD that catched my attention, the one that made me first plunging into this hobby, was the Dollfie Dream Dynamite Yoko Littner. But the first BJD I bought was a Dikadoll Mian Mian...and I'm not even sure I still want the DD Yoko. My tastes are not anymore on anime dolls...

 

First bjd that caught my attention was a nameless photo on deviantart. The first bjd that caught my longing, was an obitsu I saw on a figure collecting site, some mod or other of DD Saber. So I took a swan dive into the bjd hobby, researched through a bunch of sites, and decided to buy a little monica demetri! Then, I randomly bought an esthy peroth during an event and that was the end of me.

 

The First BJD I wanted was Elf Sapphire by B&G, I wanted him so bad, I remember the first time I saw him was at Hiritai deviant art gallery. The first one I bought was PeakWoods Vampire Briana, but the first one that arrived was Doll Love Brian XD... But I already have my Elf Sapphira

 

My story has happy ending- the first bjd i felt in love with, came 2 month ago. I had been looking for him for 5 years, and he was the second bjd i bought. I'm still in love with him, and can't believe, that i eventually got my DG Beau .

 

...are the same doll :3 All cause i ordered my first doll straight after stumbling across all of that bjd-thing. I was like omg I HAVE TO HAVE ONE OF THESE NO MATTER WHAT. It was somewhere around Christmas, i already told my mom of a present i wanted, but then i found bjds, and luckily the one i choose costed just the same amount of money as the fist present. I was familiar only with a few companies, plus there was not so many of them after all at that time. 5 years ago it was... If i knew more of them, i think i'd choose another one, but was so overwhelmed with their existence)

 

The one I've loved since I saw him is the DollZone Yue. The first doll I ever ordered was the DollZone Megi, because I thought he and Yue looked so similar. However, I ended up buying a Doll Family-H/Souldoll Lampard hybrid second hand at an anime convention. ^.^' I didn't get Yue first, because 1) he's 70cm. It didn't phase me how big that was until I had Julian (my hybrid), who's 64cm. >.> and 2) he's a lot more than I was willing to spend on anything at that time (fast food restraunt paycheck), and I knew my parents would be beyond angry about it. I WILL get him when I graduate from University. I've promised myself that. Unless I go on Mintoncard and find out he's being discontinued. Then I will get him immediately. ^.^'

 

I don't know the sculpt that first caught my attention, I think she might have been from Dollmore. The first doll I seriously considered getting was Sugarble's Serena, she's still on my wish list. I've ordered a DZ Annie as my first doll, she's being customised atm but should arrive in January! ^^

 

When I first saw the doll hobby on Flickr a couple years ago I thought it was odd. But this year I saw a doll I really thought was beautiful. It was some kind of recast Volks on some other doll body or something I'm not sure. But that made me start searching. I thought at first I would like to buy from Volks, but I didn't like the eyes or face much. Then I saw fairyland and the Soo Dark Elf LittleFee and it was love at first sight. I ordered her a month later and she is in process right now yay!

 

The first doll I fell in love with was a pukipuki pong. I loved it's adorable happy face and tiny size.
My first doll is going to be tiny delf Gretel. She's on her way to me as I type and should be here soon. I ended up getting a tiny delf instead of a pukipuki for a few reasons. First, fairyland had stopped pukipuki production during the time I was looking to buy one. So I started looking at other companies. I found luts and found I really loved their sculpts as well. I was still determined to wait until fairyland opened up pukipuki until I found fabric, friend, and dolls. She has tiny delf Gretel in stock and ready to ship. I couldn't resist being able to get an adorable tiny soon. So that's how I ended up with gretel instead of pong. I still plan on getting some pukipuki's thouhgh.

My first ended up being a dollzone Hal which my friend and I ended up sharing/thinking up a character for. We ended up taking the bjd plunge together I guess. :3

The first doll I ever laid eyes on was a Fairyland minifee Chiwoo, several years ago... and I wanted him! Alas, it was never to be. My first resin BJD ended up being a KDF Bory. To this day, I don't own nor have I previously owned a Chiwoo... though my roommate/BFF has a littlefee Chiwoo, which is good enough for me! I can look at him every day. ^_______^

 

The first doll I ever really wanted was a Luts SDF Matthew, the first I got was a Obitsu Hypervisuadoll Yuuto Ichijou when I was in Tokyo closely followed by a Luts DF Moon. I've never gotten round to getting Matthew and now I've decided to resize my collection as MSDs I probably never will ^^'

 

The first doll I ever wanted was a SoulDoll Soo-Hyun but I never got him and SD no longer makes him. It gave me warm fuzzies to look back at his sale page; DDE no longer has it but SD's website does and he's the same lovely white-haired boy I fell in love with. He's very uncommon and I'm sad I never see him around. I ended up with an HZ Tian-Tian as my 1st doll and I still love him dearly .

I had seen BJDs randomly on the internet and had the ".____________.;" reaction to the weird, fussy, kinda creepy owner posting (it was something like a LJ or something back in the early 2000's "this is *insert fussy name here* and he likes tea parties and cupcakes and dressing nicely and only other dolls who like tea parties and cupcakes and dressing nicely" followed by "we're planning an outing so he can have tea and cupcakes with other nicely dressed dolls and I'm worried he's lonely". Scared the bejeezus outta me XD).

First one I wanted was a Camellia Dynasty Windrac, then I wanted an RS Mei because I thought I might want to go smaller for the first one... I ended up buying a SDGr body and a Migidoll head. Hybrid! Haha.

 

The first doll I saw was from some odd website that I can't even remember now, then I came upon Volks. I saw the Nana 2010 renewal and fell in love! Then, I stumbled upon Charlotte and Liselotte 1st edition, and wanted them even more. So, Nana was the first BJD I wanted, then I ended up with her as my first doll!

I ended up buying a 5Star Doll Tong Tong.

The first doll I ever wanted... gosh, that was a long time ago! The first doll I ever saw was Volks Chii, but the first dolls I ever wanted were CP Soo and CH Siwon (one of the Unique Ai girl versions). After much debating, I decided on SD13 Mimi to be my first doll, and I'm so happy I did. She's so beautiful to me, and we've had lots of great times together. My newest doll is a CH Siwon, though, and maybe someday I'll get a CP Soo, but there are just so many dolls I want! So I guess we'll see.

The very first one I really, really wanted was Strongman Lou from Iplehouse Noctarcana series. No funds at the time and I was worried about getting a doll that large.
I ended up finally taking the plunge and purchasing Iplehouse Stella last year. Now, I'm trying not to become an addict.

I looked at a few companies. The first doll that I really wanted was an Iplehouse SID Felix.While I was saving up money for him, I continued to look at other sites. I ran across Souldoll and instantly fell in love with their boys, mainly their double and vito sizes. I ended up ordering a double boy Juhl, who I think is so beautiful, and I'm extremely excited for him to arrive at my house.

The doll that made me decide I actually wanted one was AR Ren... which also happened to be the first doll I bought. I got very lucky on ebay hehehe :B (Even though my decision to buy him and my actual purchase were eight years apart!)

 

The first doll I ever wanted and fell in love with was a Luts Howl. I'm still planning on buying him someday but right now he's just financially out of my reach.

A bigger disappointment was when I decided to commit to a 5stardoll "Edmund" and contacted a seller who was willing to do layaway. She said I would have to wait for her to put in an order and then I never heard from her again and now the doll is discontinued. My only hope now is to find him second hand. SIGH.

I just finished paying off my first doll (a DF-H Ella) and I expect to be getting her soon. The seller said she'll ship by Monday! Although this doll wasn't originally something I was interested in, I'm still really excited to get her and lavish her with pretty things

 

I started researching BJDs in 2004 when I saw a picture of one. It had no name so I didn't know what it was, just that it was beautiful. I then ran across Volks and it was love love love at first site. I wanted a f-14 sculpt the remake not the old one. When I went to the volks store opening in 2004 I tried to order one but they did not offer that sculpt at that time.So I got my standard second choice a Volks Mimi. I wanted a Resinsoul Mei, but got a Doll Leaves Dan instead, because I learned that msd were a little too big for me and I was going to buy just one. My first msd was never a Mei either, but a Dollzone Annie. I still like the Mei sculpt, but she just isn't it for me.

There were a couple dolls I wanted when I first learned about BJDs, but I must say that the most prominent one that I can remember would be a Volks SD Suigintou from the anime Rozen Maiden. Ahh she was perfect, but so rare and hard to obtain, lol. Way to pick your dream doll, old-me :P If I'm not mistaken, I think she was an event doll too...

My first doll I got is a Fairyland Feeple60 Mirwen, because she is oh-so-pretty!

The first doll I ever wanted was B&G's Sapphira. Back when I was scared of BJDs, I found an owner picture of him on deviantART and thought, "if I were to have one of those things, I guess this one would be the one I would go with", which was a big deal considering I couldn't even stare at one for more than half a second without feeling uncomfortable.
Also once I got over my fear of dolls and was planning to get one, I wanted Luts' SSDF Cloud first and had him all planned out.

But then I saw Ringdoll's Crystal and instantly fell in love and something just told me, "I need him". So that's who I got.

I would still love to have Sapphira and Cloud though.

The first BJD I ever saw was a Volks four sisters, and wanted one from the get-go. The first BJD that I actively decided to save up for and purchase was an old Dollstown Triste (before Torre resculpted Triste/Susie).

Was it the doll that ended up being your first?
On neither count; my first doll ended up being a DollShe Bermann.

I did eventually end up with the Dollstown Triste who is still absolutely my baby! I haven't yet felt the desire to honestly own Sara/Kira/Nana/Megu but maybe one day...

 

The first doll I wanted was a Dollshe Hound, since I had seen someone with one at a Dollshow.

My mom thought Hound would be too big, and ended up getting me a SoulDoll SoulKid Yewon. (I thought she was too small and so abandoned the hobby for 6 years and left Yewon sitting on a shelf for awhile.

Eventually I got back in the hobby, and have since gotten many lovely BJDs (mostly SD haha) and FINALLY got a Hound..well..his head anyway..I still need a body..but I'm halfway there!!

I had discovered BJDs through the Dream of Doll website, back when they released the 4 DOC guardians. Back then the prices seemed crazy to me. A little bit later I saw the first set of DOTs they had and Camine caught my eye. I stalked the site religiously (I didn't even know there were others beside DOD and Volks, but Volks had never appealed to me) and one day DOT Homme Ducan appeared...I knew I had to have him. I remember sending all the Ducan pictures to my mum via email at like 3am saying THAT'S HIM!

Was it the doll that ended up being your first?
Yes Ducan was my first doll love. My mum has now inherited him as my tastes changed a little but he still holds a special place in my heart.

I did. If I had to get one right now though I might have chosen a different one, as there are so many more companies and molds out there.
1 Year after getting the Homme Ducan, I got a Delf Shiwoo and I realized I prefer the CP style molds. So I've been sticking to Cp since then

Crobidoll Nia. Back when I was getting into the hobby, Crobidoll and DOD were the only companies I actually knew about before combing doll companies for sculpts that looked like my character. Nia was my inspiration for a good while, and then SWITCH came along, with Ryun:R and his life-ruining face. Never looked back since.

Was it the doll that ended up being your first?
NOPE haha Had my heart set on Ryun:R ever since I saw him. When I got him, I was danged thrilled because months before I never would have thought I'd be able to get my grail as my first ever doll.

I decided not to get Nia because Ryun:R looked so much more like the character I wanted to shell.
I don't think I'd be getting Nia. Unless things change, I dunno. But Crobidoll still has a special place in my heart. It's kinda my "first company" in a weird sense.

 

The first doll I ever wanted was iplehouse Claude, with his limited Elemental Guardian fullset. It was was way out of my price range at the time, but I still kind of regret not buying him.

My first ever doll was a luts winter '09 head/SD13 hybrid. He's nothing like Claude,but I love him anyway.

I still plan to get a Claude eventually, but probably not the LE fullset, because they're really expensive now.

The first doll I ever saw was an Volks SD dressed up to be Sephirothfrom Final Fantasy. At that point I knew I wanted a female doll of at least that size that I could dress fancy and have stare eerily from a shelf at me.

My first doll was adopted second hand from a store in Japan. Despite having appreciated my friend's dolls for a long time I really had no idea about just how many brands and types were available.
I was fairly sure I wanted a Volks doll and bought what turned out to be a Dollfie Dream (DDI) Rei Ayanami.

I feel like I did.
Ayanami the character has a special place in my heart and since owning Su I've acquired her a few cute outfits and have already ordered three sisters for her.
She may not be full resin or have one of the more advanced DD bodies but she's a great place for me to start.

 

The first BJD that I wanted was a DOD as far as I can remember. I was still in high school (that's almost 8 years ago) then. During that time, Internet providers in our country were really slow and I can barely do some research about them. I eventually forgot which one I wanted.

And about my first doll, no. He's really far from what I wanted then. I guess my taste for sculpts changed.

The first bjd i ever saw was VOLKS dolls and that was 5 years ago.
They were really good looking but it was not really my style at that time.
Fast forward to 2012, i was just randomly searching on ebay and saw the first doll that i ever wanted and almost buy, it was Only Doll Xuan Yan.
Fell in love with her at first sight and it fit the character that i wanted to bring to life for a very long time.

Was it the doll that ended up being your first?
No, i eventually bought Doll Love Yasa for my first doll after further browsing instead.

So far i have no plan in getting her anytime soon.
There are no further character in my story that fit her and the character that i wanted for her eventually go to my first doll.

The first BJD I ever wanted before I even knew a lot about them was Demi 2 by Dollzone. I loved her girly look! After pining over her for years, when I actually had enough money to buy her, I found that I had wanted her so much that I didnt want her any more... If that makes sense. I ended up getting a DZ Ina instead.

I fell in love with Ringdoll Sol, and I still am. I lusted after him for a year before I had enough money to buy him. I ordered him and not knowing all of the other 'stuff' I would need, I foolishly ordered another doll that was in stock, (money was burning a hole in my pocket obviously). I received the second doll first and had him for almost two months before my RD arrived. I bonded with the first doll but he is still second to my RD Sol named Ash. Now two years later I have 7 (including the on-order one) dolls and two floating heads.
I am still in love with the RD Sol facial and body sculpt and am waiting on another RD body for the second Sol head I have, I'll have twins. I like my others and can't see selling any of them but I'm still in love with my first.

 

The first doll I ever wanted was a male Bluefairy Niky but that was before I knew of any companies other than Volks and Luts. The dolls from the three companies that I knew of only have very young or anime looking dolls so I figured if all BJDs were like that, I would want a more doll-like one so I picked Bluefairy. I was very close to buying it before I discovered DoA but luckily I was able to join before I bought it because I didn't *really* want a cute, young, anime looking doll at all. I wanted a mature, realistic one. So my first was a Souldoll human Chiron.

The first BJD I ever laid my eyes on was a Fairyland LittleFee Ante &#65288;*´&#9661;&#65344;*&#65289;. I was only about 9 so I didn't even know where you would get such a cute doll or anything like her, so I left her and the idea of having a doll like her in the back of my mind!

Noo, sadly! I only just found out about them again in 2012, and I looked at her as an option when I was ready to purchase a BJD, but something just didn't click, you know? I guess it sounds cheesy, but I believe in love at first sight with dolls!! I ended up getting a Doll-Zone Wing-2, who I named Gareth! I was weak, I just love big dolls, and he's so adorable!

No, and I don't think I will ever get her. I suppose as I've gotten older my likes have really changed, and she just doesn't catch my eye as she used to, although that makes me really sad to think about &#12541;(´&#9633;&#65344;&#12290&#65417; I sort of settled in a way, instead of getting her I recently ordered a PukiPuki Ante, so I guess that's the best way for me to keep her in my heart!

First one to enter my home: light brown Iplehouse Zera
Lahela is not on my list anymore. Although I still love her, Zera made me realize I prefer small sized dolls.
Zera has been sold (not sure if I would have been able to part from Lahela)
This is the other side of the coin: if you have to wait a loooong time for a doll, a lot of things can happen, especially when you are new and still have lots of discoveries looming ahead...

 

The first bjd I wanted was a magical angel Terry (60cm) and my first doll was a msd Dollzone Shyo. So no, I didn't get the one I originally wanted. And I still don't have a Terry but he is definitely still on my list of must-haves!!!!

No, I wasnt able to buy Luke or Siber. I bought nan gong because he's special. when i laid my eyes on him I can feel that he wants me to buy him *like you are drawn to him* and he chooses me to be his owner *that sort of thing* lol

 

Four years ago I decided to learn more about beautiful mystic creatures from some random photos The first doll which impressed me so much that I thought not just like "wow, it's nice" but "omg, it should be mine!" was Fairyland PukiFee Luna. But at that time I wasn't able to buy anything from abroad. Next year I started to collect Pullips (1/6 fashion dolls). When I finally got opportunity to buy a BJD, I was dreaming about rather large doll (at least more than 1/6) to feel the difference So, my first BJD was Zaoll Luv, and she is realy great! Luna is still in my wish-list and I'm going to buy her this autumn.

 

First doll I wanted was Souldoll Paolo, i forgot how I first saw him but his company pictures just held my heart and I've been saving for him but then Souldoll discontinued him, after some time I found another doll that I wanted to buy and was saving for him again but then my friend who got me pushing on this hobby again said she can help me find a Souldoll Paolo lol and she did, a 2nd hand one though, and the seller allowed layaways so I bought him and he's my first doll
