The first I ever wanted was Iplehouse Eva. Then Stella came out and was a better match for the character, so I got her first. Eva was the second one I ordered (not counting a floating head) and she'll hopefully make it home within the next weeks.
The first BJD I ever saw was a Custom House Chowon. My first roommate in college had him, and I jokingly called him my boyfriend for most of that year. But the first sculpt I ever really fell in love with was a Blue Fairy Jerome I saw at a convention a year later. The first doll I bought was an Angell-Studio Kana, which I sold a year later after getting my beloved Hatcher (DiM Arno), who is now my most beautiful and forever beloved sculpt. Don't tell the others. It's really interesting to look back and see how much my tastes changed! I also remember desperately wanting a CP Chiwoo forever (I finally have one, but he's a dragon-hybrid WIP, so he's chilling in his box at the moment).
The first doll I ever really wanted was DoD's DOT Sha. I fell in love with him because he looked really pleasant and cute, and then y'just had to turn him at an angle and WHOA! Bedroom eyes. xD I thought it was cool. Loved Tender Shall, too; the whole priest and nun thing they had going on intrigued me! After exploring other doll sites, I loved B&G's honey doll Celia and thought she'd be my first doll. I ended up getting Peakswoods' FOF Vampire Hucky first. ;9 He's my little stinker! Can't imagine being without him now! But I did eventually get Celia (this month, actually) and I've sent her off for a faceup a few days ago. =3 --I don't think I'll ever get Sha or Shall, though; not a big fan of DOD's resin color anymore. :/
I believe the first doll I ever wanted was Doll Family H's Lingfeng, but my first doll was an Asleep Eidolon Jiao Jr.!
The first dolls I ever saw were the Luts Delfs and I fell in love. There wasn't any particular sculpt that I liked best, I just loved the mall. Then years later I won a raffle for a Delf Shiwoo Hybrid. It was one of the happiest moments of my life lol. The first doll I purchased on my own was a Kid Delf.
Pretty sure the first doll I ever desperately wanted was Planet Doll Mini Riz... at the time though there was NO way I would be able to afford a doll so I kind of just obsessed over bjds for a while. My boyfriend surprised me with my first doll though and she is a AOD Rao. I absolutely love her too. For a while I had forgotten about Mini Riz and when I finally did go back and look her up, I've decided I don't like her sculpt now as much as I did then. Probably won't ever end up with her, but in this hobby, you never know. : )
I remember my first look into BJDs started in Volks, but since I could never remember how I got to the website I'd end up truddling my way through google in an attempt to relocate the site (dad had accident wiped the computer at the time). I found my way to Dream of Doll and from there fell in love with Collection Black Luke.... which obviously means I'll never get my hands on him T-T If I owned him, I'd hug him forever. But since he can't be mine, I've resigned myself to one day finding the owner and asking if I can see him in person and take pictures. That was YEARS ago though, when I was in school and didn't have a job, etc. etc. Now however, I went and splurged and bought myself my first 3 boys and a body for a 4th with DoDs Winter special giving me a head for it (ended earlier today). I figure if I have more than one at the start, I won't get pulled into buying another too soon.... I hope anyways. Currently ordered are Azera, Kirill, and Ivan from the DoD website.
The first BJD I ever wanted was a LE Leeke World $900 vampire boy. I have since bought my first, a Soom mini gem Uyoo and decided that 35cm is going to be my max size with everyone the same scale. Gosh he was handsome, but the size and the price... eeek! My vampire will be a Real Puki Aki.
The first BJD I wanted was a Migidoll Miho. I still want him, he's got such a sweet face, but then there's the issue of money >.< I ended up getting my DollLove Lincy, who I'm sure I love just as much as I would have loved a Migidoll Miho, and is probably better for me as a starter doll.
the first doll I really fell in love with was a resinsoul mei and that was like 2 years ago and so I went on without getting my first bjd until last week when I actually acquired my first doll which is a resinsoul mei because her price went down 30 dollars I got her and I'm so happy I did she's totally worth the wait
well, i always dreamed on having a bjd and i wanted it to be DOD Ducan. i always stare at him for hours everyday. my parents won't help me to buy one, >_>; so i just settled for my number two, which was a lot cheaper, an msd from luts, but i would definitely buy him in the future~ ;A;
The first bjd I wanted was Ringdoll Sol, and he was the second doll I got. I got a 55cm Obitsu for my first doll, because he was cheaper and I wanted to get used to the hobby a bit before I get a more expensive doll. It turns out that it was a really good idea, because I've made so many mistakes as a newbie, it definately would've ruined a resin doll.
the first doll that i saw and really fell in love with was a Corbidoll Yeon-ho 2, but he was a bit to expensive for my first doll since it was my mum and dad getting me one for a Christmas present so i searched and found a doll that was in the right price range that my parents gave me and that i thought i would really cherish it was a doll-love Lincy and although their are times when i wounder why didn't i just wait or why didn't i just buy a different doll i don't think i would have picked a another doll to be my first
There first doll company I ever saw was Dollmore and the first doll I ever wanted was Dollmore Model Doll Evyeneia Haneol LE10 (that is the say the chance of me ever even getting close to owning a limited by /10/ doll that is like a thousand years old is extremely unlikely) and the first doll I ever got was a KIZDOLL LE White Elf Saiy. I wouldn't trade the two, though, I do love my first boy. ^-^
The first doll I ever wanted was a Blue Blood Doll Waltz, which was the second doll I got, anyway, the first doll I got was a Bobobie Wu. No regrets there.
The first doll that I had planned to buy was a Luts SSDF Avalance, but there was some element of realism lacking in his sculpt to me. After that, I moved on to Crobidoll, and I still want a Lance, so maybe I'll get one in the future. Eventually I fell in love with the versatility of Migidoll sculpts and Jina in particular. But lo and behold, I got a limited edition Jina instead of the normal Jina as I'd planned.
My Resinsoul Pixiu really impressed me. I was completely obsessed from before buying him, right up till he came and so on... I looked at a decent amount of dolls before deciding on Pixiu, of all kinds of prices too... I knew I wanted YOSD, and had already bought a friend a more expensive YOSD. My choice wasn't out of being cheap - I really was pretty darn obsessed with the Pixiu.
If my memory doesn't fail me, I think the first doll I ever wanted was a Minifee Shiwoo. Today I don't even collect minis. The first one I bought was a B&G Sky, whom I ended up selling, because he was an impulse thing.
The first BJD that I saw that made me want a BJD was Elfdoll Sooah. The first BJD that I ordered directly from the company was Iplehouse Bichun. The first BJD that I bought secondhand that I really loved was a Dolga/Leeke World Noella which I have two of.
First BJD I wanted was a female FL MNF VE Woosoo, I ended up getting an AOD Fei instead as my first instead XD I do now have a VE Woosoo, but it's male XD
The first doll that I wanted was the 3rd version of Volks MSD Hewitt (I loved his outfit and makeup). I saw him at the Volks shop and begged my mom, but she said I couldn't spend so much money on a doll, so I bought an MSD Mika instead. I really like her, but I still want to get a Hewitt eventually.
The first doll that I wanted was DOD Petsha, maybe because it was the only company that I knew at that time (7 year ago). Then I saw the Lily.C from Souldoll and I get her and I love her!! I don't think that I want a Petsha anymore.
The first doll i fell in love with was a Illusion Spirit Zhuqing. But at that time i was still a student so i had no source of income at all, i was also too young to get a job so i had to wait a while longer. I didnt had friends who were interested in Dolls too so that was also another reason why i didn't get him yet. Once i was 18 i met people who had dolls and i learnt alot of them like ways of payment and the basic of dolls. To me i think its easier to ask questions to people i know rather then ask on the net >< But as i showed my friend the doll she said it looked weird, actually alot of my friends said it looked weird QAQ... well i had to admit all dolls have their appealing areas but as i stared at zhu qing my love for him sort of grew lower. I'm a type of person who really take into account on others opinion, plus during that time i didn't really look at other dolls. So i went on a hunt for my perfect doll. After weeks and weeks of hunting for one, i finally found one that i absolutely love XD So by then i had the cash but my mom bought it for me for my birthday so yay~! Its a Souldoll Shaun normal skin boy!! and he hasn't arrive yet tho, he's scheduled to be shipped this fri >W<!
This is kinda tough. I remember looking at so many faces and collecting such a wishlist - but I think the first one I wanted was Iplehouse BiChun. I really liked him because he wasn't a typical looking doll and big and beefy. But funny enough the first doll I bought is pretty "typical" looking (as in pretty boy) - BlueBlood Doll Valentine. There were a number of reasons I opted to go with Valentine first. 1] I really liked the gentle sculpt & body (I realise now that the big and beefy would not have made me happy), 2] The reviews of Medusa on DoA are so awesome, 3] The company is US based and shipping was ridiculously fast. I think it was a week, 4] While cost wasn't a factor for my purchase, the doll was priced really really well. So with all of that adding up - he was the perfect first choice for me. I still love looking at BiChun but actually couldn't be happier with my first doll choice.
I chose the first doll a long time. I fell in love with a lot of dolls, but at the time of order, and even a few months before it I liked Rei Christopher from the Latidoll. It was love at first sight. I bought it first! And not the least bit sorry about it. He is still the only one of my dolls whom I love madly hard.
I can't talk about one doll, because there were actually two - Angelheim Zena and Ringdoll Wagashi Style C (the one with "runny makeup"). They were very different and I couldn't choose and didn't want to, so I ordered both in Normal Skin at the same time. Later on I got two more Zena's, but unfortunately I could get them only in White Skin - Angelheim went out of business. Love both dolls, play mostly with Zena.
The BJD I first wanted was...wow. I can't even remember. Definitely from Volks, but I think the first dolls I ever truly went nuts over were LE ones from anywhere from 2007-2008ish? Can't remember but they were girls. The one I have now is the first I ever got, and I didn't really start musing over Luts until 2008-2009 when I realized I couldn't afford anything from Volks and also realized just how freaking pretty and less expensive the Kid Delf girls from Luts were. However, to get a doll, I couldn't buy one completed in one go, and I don't think my parents wanted to do layaway payment. So, I got a KDF Cherry Elf head for my birthday and a KDF girl body for Christmas (I paid for half of it I think) all in 2010. She's super pretty and affordable with cute little elf ears, so I'm pretty happy with the choice I made!
In 2007 a friend of mine introduced me to BJD, she had a DOT Shall and she was so pretty and gorgeous, I've always loved dolls anykind and found that I took my whole life searching for something like BJD, dolls that can be customized, with so many different faces, such poseability, so many different kinds... I fell in love instantly. So my friend linked me to Dream of Doll website and prices freaked me out!! I was still minor then and showed the dolls to my mother; I don't know what happened to her but she said that she liked them and would buy me one as birthday+xmas present lol I couldn't believe that! I took a look (because for me DoD was the only web during ages, I once arrived and Dollmore and leave it because it was very messy) and so I found my first grail doll; DOT E-An, which was the newest realease that time. I was confused, I'd had bought from the internet before, in Ebay, but I didn't know how to do it there, then DoD announced that a dealer of theirs where traveling to my country, so I contacted her and planned the buying with her, I gave my mother's bank account number and waited... but she dissapeared, never heard about her anymore, nobody knew where she went, even DOD said nothing about her, gladly nothing happened to my mother's bank account, but I was so sad and left it behind for ages... Then in 2009 a friend of mine showed me again a BJD and started to do a research, getting more websites and deciding to buy one finally, but this time I wanted to buy her to make her a character of mine, and that's been my phyloshopy since then; if I don't have a chara I don't buy the doll, I feel better doing it this way ^^U So, at the end of the year, I bough a gorgeous Souldoll Soulkid Liddell, which I still own and love her more everyday; my dear Enma, and I'm so happy with the decision and don't regret it at all ^3^ Someday I will get an E-An, but it's not the first on my whislist by now C:
Nice question because it helps to see how things worked out for everyone. I fell in love with the Volks LE Isao Nanju but he was something like 2K at the time. O_o Oh how I wanted that doll! That was my Holy Grail doll, the first one that made me think, WOW, I want a BJD! Maybe people aren't as crazy as I think, look at him! (I have 8.5 dolls now, if you count a head as the .5 >o<) I got a Lati Doll Red from a friend and just had to google for the volks doll because I couldn't even remember his name. *is heartless after all this time.* I love my Lati doll, Ciel so much now, I wonder if I'd gotten the Isao if I would be as happy. Hmm.
Supia Roda was my dream doll! Way back when....then, six years later, I end up with a Doll Leaves Amara as my first!
The first one I wanted was LUTS Delf Claus so I ordered him. But somehow few days later I fell in love with Rock Star Altair who was also a first doll that came to me - my Valentine boy :-)
The first BJDs I ever knew about was Lati yellow Lea and Unoa Lusis, and that's how the whole bjd addiction started. I never got a Lea, instead I got a b&g doll leile, who reminded me of Lea. And I bought a Unoa lusis hybrid at the same time. After 3 years in the hobby, I still have her.
Awe well its good that nothing happened to the bank account. At first I was like awe its like a happy ending story but not exactly huh xD well its great everything worked out in the end ^^
The first doll I wanted was a DD Yoko. I'm a big yoko fan so when I saw her I was like I dont even care that she's a doll, I want her. That was before I saw her price tag lol. So I still wanted a DD so I ordered a blank head and haunted dollfiedreams for a body. While browsing ebay I came across a doll done up like Alice in Wonderland. I was kind of against the idea of resin dolls. "Too realistic for me" I said. But that girl won me over b/c I wanted a doll bad enough and the DD body shortage was in full swing. So I ordered an AoD Meng Li from a seller on ebay. She looked nothing like Alice when she arrived with her short teal wig lol. I kept the name Alice though. And wouldnt you know it, while my wallet was still in intensive care, I found a DDdy body. So I have a complete DD, but still no Yoko. But yoko is likely to never happen since she often sells for more than I paid for my truck lol.
I first BJD I ever wanted was the Suigintou one from Volks x''''D But I prefered buying Snow-Sing from Doll-Love, and the customizing her as Suigintou :9
The first doll I ever seriously wanted was volks F-18 and I am fortunate enough to have her as my first ~!
The first doll I wanted was DollZone Annie. The first doll I bought was a Doll-Love Anona. Then as luck would have it, someone near me was selling their Annie for pretty cheap! And here they are together! (Old photo, Fly (Anona) has a new wig, glasses and horns now!
As an artist I was interested in getting realistic BJD girl for inspiration for my paintings. I was suggested to look at Iplehouse and fell immediately in love with Carina. Sadly, on an artist's salary, (ie not much) I couldn't justify spending so much, especially as I was used to Blythe and Pullip prices! I trawled flickr groups for pictures of BJDs tagged FS and FA and finally came across Morgan Orton's Oasisdoll on a Dollzone body. An SD girl with the right proportions for my work. She came with clothes too and was a good price, so she was my first BJD. It took me nearly 6 months to get her due to difficulties, and getting an SD as your first is a baptism of fire! I just need to get her a very nice red wig now and make some outfits... Aria the Queen of Bishopton by fifilatrixabel ♥ is busy, on Flickr
I've been absolutely choked by SDink's Heat, fallen in love from the first sight and not even dare to dream, that some day I will have my own Sabik. But.. it happened! I was his third owner, but I know: it was just his hard way to me! My Angelo, my real angel! is my first and my best forever, though he decided to gather all his family, and today we are of six already here.
Ok Here goes, way back when ( Jan 2012 ) i was surfing around and came across Leeke Mikhael on SDink's site, http://www.dinksdolls.com/Images/Gallery Images/Misc/Mihael/2010_01_26_Mihael_6.jpg. I did not know which sculpt he was or where he was from but I knew I would have to have him. I then started looking up BJD on a well known auction sight and stumbled across An Iplehouse Luo Strongman full set with extra clothes. He totally blew me away. So 9 Iples and 11 Fairylands later I finally found a Mikhael head, I'm just trying to find someones style that matches my vision for him! And of course I have another Iple on order! lol
The first BJD was Wangi Zi from AoD. I did some doll research in 2011 and was interested in AoD sculpts at that time, then I dropped the research only to return in 2013 with more of a desire to get a BJD. Again I did research, but this time it was massive hardcore research since I was now making a commitment. I found the perfect AoD sculpt for my personal Sephiroth and bought him in late May and got him in the middle of June (And omg he's amazing! ) I'm still waiting for his jointed hands 'cause he's got to hold a sword! lol.
First doll I fell for was Angell Studio TY. I own him...LOL However, the first doll I ordered (on layaway) was IH Dexter - whom I fell for the first time I saw him (which was about 2 months or so after I found the Angell Studio site). I ordered Ty about a month after Dexter.
The first doll I wanted was a KDF Kiwi, but I ended up getting a Pukifee Bonnie because she was cheaper and a good deal. /: I still love KDF's though.
i feel in love with a minifee karsh that a now friend hade before and he was the reason i joind the hobby but i did not buy one tho i did not know at the time what he was as a skulpt , now i have my dream doll not the minifee karsh but a Dollpire Kid Girl - Awesome Black : Sona - LE20 , and im planing om geting my minifee karsh some time in the future when i have the money to buy him
Iplehouse Luo, ended up with a RS Ju and two MSD Miro dolls. I still covet Luo but he's way out of my price range so I've pretty much resigned myself to admiring his ilk from a distance...
The first doll I ever wanted was a dollshe bermann. But I've decided to give up on that since he is really rare and is probably triple his originally price now. I'm currently saving up for a bobobie apollo for my starter doll.
The first doll I really fell in love with was DoC Homme Kirill. I loved the way he looked, the little smirk he has. Unfortunately when I thought up the character I wanted my first doll to become I found Kirill didn't quite look the way I was imagining this character. I ended up buying a Dolkot Day instead, and even though I love him too, someday I still want to get a Kirill.
LMAO ... that woman is dangerous I swear! I have to credit her with my Iple downfall (must say I went gleefully and I WILL have my Dexter!) I can't say she introduced me to BJD's though ;p. I just randomly tripped on them somewhere I don't even remember where on the net. I ended up at.... surprise surprise Dream of Doll. At first Tender Shall and her 'so sick but still selflessly helps others' character and sweet sad face... I'm not going to rant on the outfit .... other than damn I want it for my Iple's! After her came Camine in that story set and I was in love! He is still my grail doll (full set of course). But life happens and I was away from even just looking much, but when mom got sick I decided I'm not wastimg any more time... and I was back looking, and by this time I had another obsession... Regency romance stories and I found myself wanting to portray the characters... from there I spied a magazine LE outfit and then found the doll it was meant for.... I was gone... he was all my romantic hero's from my books embodied! But it was a year old and really limited..... but I got lucky and found him! ^^ SOLD!.... He is The Marauder (LE20 by Souldoll; zenith w/ Kagel head & special face up, DollPeddler Exclusive) He currently is my first love to come home, one day I may be lucky enough to piece together my grail Camine, and I will owe the rest of my life to IPLEHOUSE!... with maybe the odd 'other' thrown in later ^^
This one is pretty funny. The first BJD I ever wanted was a Dollzone Nyu. I wanted her so much I considered saving for a long time. But then I found Doll-love. They had so many cheap and cute dolls. I fell in love with the Yoyo sculp. She was quite affordable too! I was super happy and bought her right away! Later, after I had basically forgotten Nyu existed, I found her again! Man did I have a laugh. Not that I thought the Nyu sculpt was stupid or anything, it just definitely wasn't my style of doll anymore. If I had gotten Nyu, I don't know what I would have done. Maybe I would have collected more like her or maybe I would have not bonded and quit the hobby? Who knows, I'm just glad I got Arefa.
The first doll I ever wanted was a Dikadoll Rena, but instead I got a minifee chloe which I am so happy and grateful that I got her instead
I just got my first doll, an Elfdoll Rita, and she is exactly the first one I wanted. To me, getting another doll before her would have seemed weird and out-of-order.
I would have bet money that I posted here...but I guess not... What was the first bjd you ever wanted? Was it the doll that ended up being your first? The first doll I ever wanted was Dollmore Kara Klum, but in between seeing him and deciding that yes, he was perfect and actually buying him, I learned that there was something called White Skin. Since the drawing I was using as a guide to find "the perfect doll" was in color, and his skin was actually white, that would have been ideal...but DM Doesn't do WS unless it's an LE (or for some reason, a couple Zaolls), and Kara was not available in WS. I bought the NS one, and adored the hell out of him, but would have really preferred WS if I'm honest. Which they released a year later :\ Did you or didn't you ever get that doll you originally wanted? Yep! The next year when they brought out two versions of Kara Klum in a fullset LE in WS. After about 32 seconds of debating whether or not I could deal with two of the same sculpt (cause no way was I getting rid of the first one), I ordered the OE LE version of Kara Klum. Which was the first step down a dark, dark path... So the first doll I wanted did end up being my first in a way...also my ninth. And 15th...and 30th, or something like that....and....somewhere in there there are two more but I would have to actively look them up and that's too much like work.
My first BJD was my Volks Chii, she was my absolute dream doll. Nothing else seemed to compare until I secured her. The biggest obstacle was finding one, I feel like I've been "collecting" for years, but the majority of the time was spent looking for Chii! I'm actually a relatively new collector.
The first doll I ever wanted was a Luts Frey, but I figured he'd be too expensive, so I started looking at Bobobies. I eventually decided that I'd rather save for something I really want, rather than get a doll just because it's cheap. After "Deciding" on a few more sculpts, I found the Dollshe website, and fell in love with the Rosen. I was 35 dollars away from being able to afford him, and they discontinued him. So, rather than sulk around until I found him secondhand, I decided to go ahead and get a different first doll, but a girl this time, because I was scared if I got a boy, he wouldn't be as perfect. So I am now waiting patiently for my Elfdoll Yuan to come in the mail!
I discovered BJDs years and years ago. Maybe 2003? I never fell in love with any one doll but I really was drooling on the Volk's SDs. But all dolls are equal in my eyes and I knew I'd be happy with anything I got so I decided for my first (and probably only BJD) I'd get a Resinsoul. I was in love with most of their faces (I'm picky!) but I settled for Lian... bigger than what I have wanted all these years but I love her face -and- her body. Normally I'm just drawn to faces, this is the first time I've been drawn to both.
The first doll I every REALLY wanted was a Luts Delf YDER, back in oh....'07 I believe. I remember it was around February, because at the same time Dream of Doll opened it's Valentines Day event where you could get a pair of DoCs for a discounted price. I wavered awhile, but then I ended up deciding to get a DoC Mir and Too pair instead of the YDER. In the long run, I regretted it, because YDER definitely would have suited the boy character much better than a DoC Too >__< I don't actually want a YDER anymore (and haven't for some time, and I found an MSD that suited the character even better than YDER in the end anyways) because I found other dolls from Luts that I preferred to him. One thing that didn't change, though, was my all consuming desire for a Delf Soony! I was so sad when they stopped making them, and then Delf's all together! Good things come to those who wait though, I guess, because I just nabbed the most gorgeous Soony of the mp! So yes, in the end, I did get my dream doll! It just took me six and a half years....xD
Anyways my question to you guys is what was the first bjd you ever wanted? The first one that I wanted was actually two. Around '04, '05 I found the Too and Bee-A set on Dream of Doll and thought, "what a great deal! Two for a little more than the price of one!" I almost talked myself into it, was even saving for them. But it was not meant to be, and I'm glad for it. I almost fell into the common pitfall of getting a doll I was just okay with because of price, rather than because I loved it. Was it the doll that ended up being your first? No, my first ended up being a Dollshe Hound. When he came out and I saw his debut pictures, that was it. I knew that I HAD to get one. I'd felt that "MUSTHAVE!" feeling before, but never thought it would ever be directed towards BJDs! Did you or didn't you ever get that doll you originally wanted? (and if not then what made you decide that?) No, I never did. Now when I look at the Too and Bee-A, I recognize that all I feel towards them is "how cute," not "OMGmusthave!" That's what I aim for. For as much time, money and energy invested in these dolls, to settle for a doll I don't love 100% seems a waste to me. I have only a limited amount of those three resources, so why waste them on a doll I'm merely okay with? Others may feel differently, of course. But that's just the way I feel about it.
The first doll I ever really wanted was a Junior Delf Terra. He was the doll that really made me decide that spending $400+ on a doll would be soooo worth it. However, after I discovered more BJD companies and shopped around a lot more, I ended up getting a Dikadoll Mo Lin as my first (and I am so happy I did). I think there were a lot reasons I decided on him over Terra--I liked the idea of getting from a less-popular company, I liked the bigger SD size, and I thought he was a little more unique (no offense to Luts owners, a lot of Delfs just look very similar to me ^^''). Also, the first BJD I ever actually saw and held was a Dikadoll, so I'd already grown partial to them. :P Well, I don't have the means to buy another doll right now, but even if I did, I don't think I would get him. I was very enamored with him, but after looking at a lot more dolls, I've found others that I want more than him (on my long dolly wishlist, he is at the bottom). However, maybe I'll fall in love with him again some time in the future when I have the means to really collect more.
The first BJD I ever wanted was a Luts KDF Pine. When I first ran into the Luts website, I had no idea what BJDs were whatsoever. I thought all their face-ups were permanent and that they all came in full-sets, so I was automatically drawn to the one with the more historical looking outfit. However, I soon after became obsessed with SDF Sherard, who I was very close to purchasing. Eventually, I decided I wanted an MSD sized BJD instead, which ended up with me sort of impulse buying my KoonieS with the money I had already saved up for my Sherard. I didn't even think I would end up with a girl doll as my first, so it's a bit surprising.
The first BJD I ever wanted was Tania from Iple House. I loved her face especially her lips. And I loved how she looked like on the website: long blond curls, blue eyes (I think the pictures and outfit, wig, eyes, changed since then)... I didn't want to start the hobby with such an expensive doll, though, since I wasn't too sure at the moment that I would like it. So I ordered the Espree girl at Bobobie's, and tried to give it the same characteristics that the Tania had: blonde long hair, blue eyes, tried to make her cute -but it just didn't work. I changed her style completely to the punky-grungy look and personality she has now -and I'm fully satisfied. I'm so glad I didn't order Tania now - I rapidly grew bored by her and uninterested by all Iple House dolls. I think I wouldn't have liked her as much as my Bobobie girl. My dolly tastes have evolved, I'm not into juvenile, naive-looking molds anymore. I've grown fond of what I didn't like at the beginning, and grown wary of what i was all about when I first knew BJDs
