So, Today at the beach I was doing a dollie photoshoot *Egasp, so dangerous!* and I realized, I would probably give my left arm to take a photo of my doll up close and personal with a pelican, like, a real live pelican. (They are one of my favorite birds :3) This is a photo I know I will never acheive T_T. What photos would you give a limb for but will most likely never quite be able to capture?
Neil Patrick Harris playing with Rian, got a pic with him after I caught up to him and my sister but not during the initial meeting.
A photoshoot with a pelican, wow! Perhaps you could take a photograph of the pelican, then once it flies away, place your doll in the place you'd like it to be, and photograph, then splice the photos together? I certainly wouldn't trust a pelican, eep! Dolly, I hope you're able to track NPH down again some day! As for myself, I think that would be any photoshoot involving my dolls floating around on/in/half-immersed in any body of water. I love water, myself, and we have a number of bodies of water (fountains, streams, the bay, ponds, several inlets, the lake) near our house, but I could never bring myself to endanger my dolls for photoshoots involving water. Urgh...
Wow NPH! Yeah i can understand how difficult people of the famous degree could be to get a photo of! let alone with a doll! Though i do know a girl who works at Kerbey Lane Doll Shop in Austin Texas who has a collection of photos of her dolls with celbreties! A member of Panic At The Disco even tried to steal one of her dolls! And Aska I know how scary water can be for dolls! while i was at the beach i did take a photoshoot on the sand, beleive me i freaked out when i got home and had to rinse the sand carefully from each joint! The photoshoot is here http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...-*DZ-Fei*-*Image-Heavy*&p=8173174#post8173174 for anyone who is interested! ANd yes that would be a great idea to photoshop it, ^_^ though i wish i could get it for real. but since im sure unless i turn into a pelican whisperer, i can never have it! XD
In a similar vein to the pelican shoot, I'd *love* a picture of the doll I have planned (who has curled horns) riding a ram. I think it'd be adorable XD But even if I could find a ram to use I'd never trust it with my dolly, especially with how oily they feel O_O *sigh* and now this thread has gotten me thinking of even more awesome-but-unobtainable shoots XD
This. For me it would be a picture of my girl standing upright by herself....She can't barely stand without support. When I first got her I would try to get her to stand like this all the time and she's taken one too many tumbles.
Frogg why yes Rams are temperamental animals, NOT trust worthy with a dolly! And awww Animagic maybe you could wire her so she stands better? Or get an easily concealable dolls stand?
Hmm.. My dream picture: Probably my SD girl wearing beautiful white wings, and about to step off of a very high cliff. One of her feet would be almost off the edge. Then I would take the shot so you could see the clouds above, and the foamy waves splashing against the weathered rocks at the very bottom. *dreamy look*
We crossed paths at Puppet Up a few years back, my Rian is based on Brian Henson so he was the doll to go. As it was Muppet people I had no problems letting them play with him
lol! that sounds cool! Man, if one person i could get to take a photo with my doll... ummm, Probably Carol Plum-Ucci, my favorite novelist!
What would be an amazing shot for me to do is a slightly above angel of the doll, climbing a rope in Gym, about to reach that bell. Not only would it just be too difficult to get the doll to stay there (without using my hands) but recreating a gymnasium to scale would take too much time and money (not to mention it would be a waste for that one shot).
Komali6: that sounds amazing! But i agree it would be incredibly difficult to find such scenery and even then to get a doll to hold onto a rope without falling with one hand no less XD
My Dollshe Saint drowning in the sea. Since his biggest love is the sea and he has been forced to leave it for the Great War, the only thing he wishes is to come back. D:
I did have a dream shot for a long time, but I finally realized my dream when I got a big enough doll to pull it off.. I wanted a picture of a doll holding my real, live macaw. I figured it would never happen but then I got a Lusion Dahlia about 2 years ago and this past Halloween she was a pirate with a my macaw, Bobo, on her arm. The pics with him didn't turn out the greatest, but I still love them. Now, my NEW dream shot is of her riding a real, tiny pony. My neighbor has minature horses, so I might try it sometime, just not sure I trust it yet, even if I can get her tied in a saddle, lol Here's one of the pirate pics: Here's the link to my FLickr if you want to see more of her pirate photoshoot: http://www.flickr.com/photos/brendainpa/with/5129415760/
oh WOW! so amazing she is absolutely huge! you've got an adorable duo right tehre and congrats on getting that shot! good luck with the ponys i sure hope to see how things go for that one as well!
I want pictures of Agatha (who is a mad scientist) with a working, running Tesla coil. (Dork much?) But I don't think 900+ volts would interact well with screw-studded vinyl. I guess if I made her a scale Faraday suit it could work then, but honestly even the schematics for the Tesla coils confuse me, and they're considered fairly simple; I haven't the slightest idea how to go about a Faraday suit. And that's without going into the issue of getting a decent shot of mini-lightning arcs! Sure, it'd be major geek cred, but I'm not sure it'd be worth it. Well, unless it was a singing Tesla coil. Because those are just so awesome they would out-awesome any other troubles.
I want pictures of Heibol (my beryl) on the beach during a foggy night with the water washing up over him. If he didn't cost me $1000 I would probably attempt it right before a restringing/cleaning day. Maybe one day I will try it, but I would have to bring every friend I had ready to make chase in order for me to feel remotely safe about it. I don't see it happening any time soon ^^;
I'd really love to have some pictures of my dolls in a realistic wooden ship (yes, a pirate ship). But I'm landlocked, and I'm not about to build a doll-sized pirate ship...
My dolls with water. Or crying. I just don't dare to put water near them, not to mention their faceups. :/
My dolls dancing in a ballroom romanticly, all done up in their best. I've only been in a fancy ballroom once and it was beautiful, the white and gold rococo walls and beautifully designed marble floors and crystal everywhere. That is where it would be ideal but I think it's good luck for me getting in there again and I definitely won't be renting it anytime soon for a doll shoot. Not to mention the posing factor. Although by then I would ensure my dolls were extra hot glued and wired! Not to mention the elaborate costumes.
If you can get a photo of them dancing against a plain background then it's only a bit of PhotoShop magic to put them in the ballroom. Last summer I accidentally caught the sun in a landscape image and I decided that if I dropped my sun priestess into it there was hope for it... http://www.flickr.com/photos/10884242@N00/6122452113/in/photostream Tom
Rudy and Ivan sitting on the edge of a cliff as the sun is setting, and the light is hitting their face just right, and they are holding hands. it would be so beautiful, but for one i would never put them anywhere near the edge of a cliff X.x
Aww I'd love a photo of my little Prince meeting the queen ^o^ She could shake his little hand I'd also love a photo of my house rabbit as snuggled up beside one of my dolls (my yo would probably be the cutest.) However, despite my rabbit being a bundle of loveliness and very friendly, she would probably never actually fall asleep somewhere I could get to her with my camera. Also she is like a child and looks at things with her teeth x_x
I really would love to try and get a shoot of a Senior Delf in the middle of a flock of doves, just to capture the moment when they fly, but I worry about wind and the doves possibly attacking it so >< I do want to get my doll on top of a Samoyed though, because Samoyeds are really cute ^^
My girl in her maid costume in a mansion. She would be standing, turning back to face the camera at the top of a marble staircase. Not only do I not have the money to rent a mansion, but I just can't stand her at the top of a staircase in good faith. I suppose I could do it in a museum or something, but there are WAY too many people for that.
It's funny as I never thought water could be dangerous.. so I just went with it and took some pics of my doll in water and she came out harmless did have to restring her anyway so don't know if it would mess with the strings or not after a while? Her face-up remained intact as well. Anyway my dream shot would be my Notdoll Citron, Cherry. In the mids of searing fire. Another one - maybe more achieveable - would be my Sindel standing on a cliff, with only clouds in the background, me taking the shot from frog-perspective, to then later edit in lightening and dark weather, etc... It IS achieveable but now way in hell I can make her 1) stand on a cliff 2) make sure she stays there and not falls off 3) leave her alone there while i go down to take the pic Unless I have someone to help me, but then again... yikes!
I guess I would love to take pictures of my doll(s) standing in the sea with water mid-thigh or close to a fall, but I'd be too afraid it would lose balance and get carried away by the water .__. or watch, powerless, as their wig flies/drift away *overly dramatic image* I often see fashion photos where the model stands in the middle of the street of amoung a bunch of random peeps on a busy sidewalk. I think it would look really cool to shoot my dolls in a simillar way but that couldn't be done. they'd get stompted, stolen I'd get yelled at for being in the way. ^^;;;
All these cliff pics sound awesome. Don't give up hope though- remember that a three foot gully can look like a cliff for an MSD. My dream is to get a photo of two of my dolls sparring in a martial arts dojo. I have no 1/3 scale dojo, and no dolls that pose well enough to look like they're in any sort of fluid movement.
the pelican pic sounds awesome! but I wouldn't trust a pelican either, one day when I was at the beach one swooped down and stole a toy that me and friend were throwing around as for my impossible photo.... a pic of my girl looking like she's dancing ballet, in a dance studio (or in the street). the SD10 body she's on can't even stand with its feet turned out so it'll always be just a dream
I have loads of impossible-sounding picture ideas that I'm determined to get somehow! I'd love one of my vampire Amleth with his big translucent bat wings, standing on some ancient castle ruins at night with the moon behind him shining through his wings. Proper classic Gothic! And one of my telekinetic revenant Matilda levitating objects with her mind and having them all spinning around her in a chaotic frenzy. That would take some serious photoshopping, or maybe I could rig up a mobile of some sort. I'd also like my ghoul Fettes breaking into a coffin with a crow-bar. That's not as hard as the others, but when you think of how I want the camera angle to look like it's coming from inside the grave itself, and lighting with moonlight and lamplight and so on, it gets harder. That's enough for now but there's plenty others. I'll do them someday. :P
Poofiemus - I love the Idea of a doll with a tesla coil. I suppose you could always try the photoshop route.
a very simple picture.. of them standing as one group + a pic of one of my girls on a doll size swing
