2DDoll 68girl body, with small bust & 3part torso, plus additional heeled feet. Skintone Switch normal (powder beige). Ordered from 2DDoll's Taobao store. Update: Please see post #16 for posing tests with 2D68. Firstly, a shoutout to @Setsura who made me aware of this body in the first place. This girl body was sculpted by the independent sculptor 倒斗神瓶SSRS (Weibo), for 2DDoll. SSRS was posting prototype images on Weibo, and I followed this body's development for most of 2023. I'm quite picky about aesthetics of female BJD bodies. I have strong preference for slim, boyish, athletic girls (and already have one such girl at home), and I never found curvy BJD girls to be all that attractive... until I saw 2D68 and was besotted. I was quite astonished at how much I loved the shape and aesthetics of this body. And she's tall! I'd already preordered Joydoll Lai with the idea to make a tall female BJD, and 2D68 was the body I wanted for her. 2D premiered it in late November 2023 and ran a new-release sale, so I bought it right away from 2D's Taobao store. My order was shipped to my proxy after 3.5 months, ahead of 2D's estimated time of 4-5 months. . Barebones box, not even a brand logo. The body came with a CoA, plus a string puller and magic eraser. What a GORGEOUS body!!! A big gripe I have with many girl bodies is the lack of muscle definition, even subtle ones. (Please, I've had enough of shapeless tube arms and legs...) I was attracted to many things about SSRS's sculpting, the major one being the muscle definition. Indeed, it's outstanding. She's so shapely and beautiful, like a well-built, healthy, athletic girl. I'm in love! The option heeled feet are lovingly sculpted too. I believe they're sized to Popo68. . A few poses... quite promising! Arms and legs are versatile and pose smoothly. The torso joints and mobility thighs may have some limits. Her range might not be big, but overall, she feels quite stable and reliable. I'm looking forward to playing with her. No photos for these: she's able to do a kneeling (seiza) position reasonably well, but can't actually sit on her heels. She can sit with her knees together, and knees and feet together -- not 100% perfectly, but close enough (update) Tried again, and she CAN sit with knees completely together. I might update later with pics. . Joydoll Lai on 2D68. My tall girl Oshidori is completed Both head and body were matched to Switch normal (powder beige), and they match each other quite close. Lai is a bit yellow-toned and 2D68 is a bit pink-toned, but I think the pink will settle out, and both head and body will match over time. Some more pics from the back... more lovely muscle detailing... . Faceup by me. She's wearing 14/6mm eyes and 8-9" wig. I didn't think I had casual clothes that'd fit her, but she's wearing a top and pants from LUTS, both sized for SDF65 dolls. I haven't tried shoes on her yet. . With my 68cm boy who is around 71-72cm in his heeled feet. Oshidori weighs 2.2 kg while Gael is 2.0 kg, and her hands are bigger than his, which is all very delightful. Her pants are a bit short because I originally hemmed them for a shorter doll. I took out the hems in the next pic. . Group pic, left to right: - 65boy hybrid -- Kanadoll Mars / Doll Family-H 65 - 68girl hybrid -- Joydoll Lai / 2D68 - 62girl hybrid -- Crobidoll Lance / Dollstown 15yr girl (the shortest one has the biggest head and eyes - ah, oldschool charm) - 68boy -- Vings68v.2 Seira, in flat feet this time So happy with my tall girl! Thanks for looking!
She's whole!! Congrats, Vega!! She's a giant next to Syr I can't believe she weighs more than everyone else in the house too. They'd better not piss her off! Her bust size is surprisingly appropriate. I like that a lot! I'm glad she had some clothes to come home to. The wide pants look like they were made for her.
Even if she doesn't have the biggest posing range, her resting poses seem so graceful! Congrats on the arrival of the body, Oshidori's a stunner!
Happy whole-day Oshidori! I hope the blonde wig you have planned for her works out, but I quite like this grey one too. The siblings look great together!
Oh, my. I love how tall she is. 2DDoll likes their resin - their dolls are heavy. The sculpting is so subtle, but stunning. Congrats on your lovely new girl! Fabulous hybrid, too!
Thanks everyone. I've bought several new dolls over the last year and I adore them all, but this is the most excited I've been by a box opening I'm so delighted by my tall girl, I love that she's taller than 2 of the 3 boys in the crew. Not easy to find this in BJD world! Yes, another thing that attracted me to this girl body were the bust options ... the S bust is actually small, while being appropriate for this build. In fact, all 3 bust options are beautifully sculpted and look suitable for this body. I hope to see the M and L busts out there in owner pics someday
Congrats! Your girl is beautiful! You got a pretty good hybrid, btw, I would never say it's a hybrid.
Thanks, everyone, for the kind comments on the hybriding! I'm pleased that it was so successful. . I got a chance to play with Oshidori, so here's a posing report. Her centre of gravity is low - at/just under the crotch. The versatile standers in my crew all have their CoG in that area, and she's great too! How to find a doll's CoG: put them in a stiff standing position with arms at the sides, then hold them horizontally, and try to balance them in your hand like a see-saw, without tipping one side or the other. When the doll is balanced, the CoG is at the place you're holding. Closer to the ground = more stable at standing. Where possible I get a 3part torso for a doll body, and I'm glad to be vindicated again in favouring 3part torsos for the greater range of motion. Her underbust/chest joint is very flexible, and her waist joint is also engaged in all these pics. I'm very happy with her range of motion. Sadly, the mobility thigh joints barely function for leg up/knee-hugging poses. They're cut very high on the thigh, and there's not much room to grab the joint and manipulate it. So it's hard to engage in the first place. And when it's engaged, the lock is shallow and doesn't hold and keeps slipping out. The joint might as well not exist. I wonder if a reversed hip joint (ball-on-hip, socket-on-thigh - my other girl has this config) would've been more effective as a quasi mobility thigh. That said, she can do nice sitting/lounging poses and cross her legs without needing it. She can sit with her knees together, but not 100% consistently - I have to fiddle with her legs to get it to work. Her arms have great range, versatile and expressive in posing. The elbow here isn't fully engaged, she can fold her arm even more. Spoiler: Nude pic of how the torso joints manage that lounging pose I'm very pleased with her posing. I hope this is helpful!
Again -- thanks for all these photos! I love how naturally the poses look, it's as if she just fell into place I'm a fan of three part torsos myself, or at least when theyre able to be used
Yes, thanks for the additional photos! That's pretty impressive! Definitely going on my "maybe someday" list. ^_^
