@dollfan - except monthly heads, other heads are released in limited time only.
every month Switch offers bodies for purchase and sometimes will sell together with heads
It is quite easy to do hybrid so heads only is rather good for me
maybe instagram can show more human-like style, just search the tag bjdmakeup / bjdfaceup

 

Thank you, yes, I’ve found out recently that maybe the switch body isn’t for me and will be looking for alternatives, more challenge for me to find the compatible resin colours... as for the face ups, I’ve followed all Bjd face up related account I could find but it is a little bit hard to recognize the switch ones....I haven’t checked Flickr’s so I might do that next
Since you’ve got only heads, what body do you like and from you’ve experienced which switch colour has more compatibility ?

 

@dollfan - Switch powder beige resin is quite compatible with other Korean doll's brand normal skin. I have a Luts body for hybrid before, also hybrid with Volks body. Crobidoll & Ramcube also works from someone's report.
Milktea & mocha brown seems to be little bit difficult to hybrid. I own a Switch Mocha Brown body which is quite good in standing & making poses.

I follow an artist on Instagram called dollfacedstudio who is doing well in human-like style. Not sure if this is what u are looking for but she got some faceup for Switch dolls.Ryuzo & Rion are latest two. Check tags in her post if u are not sure which doll is it

Whoops didn't mean to double post, but the body is in normal skin on a DFH 68cm body.

 

Finally the body for Hwayeon has finally come in, thanks AC lol I was worried that the skin matching would be a stark difference but thankfully the body's is nust a tinnny bit pinker than the head. Nothing a good faceup can't fix Uploaded some photos as well

Does anyone know what the Switch post on Twitter was about? I can't read Korean and they didn't post it in English. It looks like there were issues with the Mocha Waseon doll from the raffle.

 

@poisonapple88 The best I can get from Google translate is that there were some problems with the faceup for the Waseon head. Something about the artist having to make a lot of corrections and the faceup not being what people expected.

 

Wow, that's definitely surprising. I feel like Switch is so on top of it usually with their faceups.

 

@Chikku The face-ups were done by a collaborative artist, so not directly from Switch.

 

The faceup artist of mocha waseon
is unfamiliar. Looks like they are first time collaboration.
I saw the posts of switch offical & their staff. The outcome from this artist seems to be not stable.
I understand faceup cannot be exactly the same but better looks like the show photos

 

Sorry to change the subject, but I was wondering if anyone knows if any of the Loongsoul resins will match SWITCH’s PB?

I just saw that LS come out with a new body and i want it for a head im gonna order but I cant find any LS and SWITCH hybrids.

 

Loongsoul resin isn't fully opaque, which I think Switch's is, so a hybrid would likely look a bit strange due to the difference in transparency. I hope that's helpful ^^

I believe Loongsoul only offers the one resin type (which is listed as imported by most dealers), as for Switch I'm fairly certain they don't offer imported resin.

 

I ordered the Sadol School Uniform a while back and it's such amazing quality. Took a cute photo of Natsuki. It looks like he's all ready for his first year of high school

 

Yeah Switch doesn’t offer imported, I just didn’t know if Loongsoul was still using their non-imported resin, but I guess not. I’ve only seen the imported resin option.

Is it just me or is the new Ryuzo head a dreaming version or something? I really wanted to get Ryuzo but the eyes seem a bit different this time.

 

that is what i noticed too. but it quiclky made me buy it haha.

 

He's extremely handsome in those promo photos but the dreamy expression doesn't suit the character I was hoping to go for with his sculpt. Guess I will have to wait for another Ryuzo release... whenever that may be.

 

ya, just a dreaming version of Ryuzo.
I saved a blank head photo of Ryuzo & no major modifications i can see in the new head.
I am worrying the eyes are too small. I am difficult at this eyes type

 

On another note, the new 70cm body looks fantastic in the promo photos! I was worried about the shoulders being too wide but it doesn't seem so with the clothes on. I'm just worried it will look a bit too big next to a slender 65cm doll tho.

 

Ryuzo is so handsome

I'm tempted to at least pick up his blank head so that I don't feel any regret. I passed on Yozo in June and ended up regretting it but thankfully was able to get him from Faithz later as in-stock. He's in Korea right now getting a face-up! But I also promised myself not to buy so many dolls in 2021.................

@mugenkaze I've had really good success with narrow iris eyes! Most of my boys have 14mm eyes but I do the narrow iris option for the ones with small eye wells and it helps a lot.

 

I'd been looking at Switch boys for a bit (read: about a month or so) before they announced their new Ryuzo, decided why the heck not, and grabbed him with the default heavy make-up. Only his head, though! I'll get his body some other time. Also snagged a couple of Gelato turtlenecks.

I'm really glad that they apparently decided to do something different for this Ryuzo release!! But my tastes are entirely too predictable: I always go for dreaming/half-closed eyes and heavy, dark make-up. Bonus points for a slightly sullen or otherwise dreamy expression!! I'm also partial to Hwayeon, Waseon, Ruan, Yido, Soseo, and maaaaybe Doha. So I hope there are a lot more cute boys ahead for 2021!!

 

Has anyone ordered the HD 70 Attractive body yet? I'd really love to see some owner photos.

Haha i bought it too! I couldn't help myself. Ryuzo is my grail so I had to get him!! And I think persona is supposed to be his dreaming version, kind of? Because his eyes aren't as closed as Pavian, I would say (who is basically just a dreaming Waseon).

 

I'm still going back and forth on Ryuzo but I have been looking at his page everyday...

Maybe I should change my title to Switch Enthusiast like @BirdieBurrito as my Switch Army is also the bulk of my collection!

 

Can someone explain how the Concerto stuff works? It's the one off dolls they sell at Platina, right? I'm trying to see if I have any real chance at getting one of them...

 

Showroom or Event only heads, Mocha Brown skin will sell limited numbers. normal & white will be a pre-order at the event or showroom.
I think you need an agent to get them.

Hello all! I've just started a layaway for a holy soseo head. I've admired switch boys for years, and I was out of the hobby when holy soseo was released! May I know what bodies you have your switch boys on? I'd also like to know what size eyes you're using in the dreamy sculpts.

my switch boy hybrids with volks SD17, luts senior delf 65, luts super senior delf. switch normal skin is compatible with lots of Korean brand.
my soseo is using 14mm eyes, 7mm iris.
narrow type eyes work better for soseo, his eyes are half dreaming type.

Switch Head Number

@Evazeth Inside my Huisa I have what looks like a 4, but I was never quite sure if that was a number or a Korean letter.

@Cloudedmind At first I thought it was the number of the order. (ex. Ryun: R is 13, so I thought that I had the 13th head of Ryun: R)

@Evazeth - the number inside head may be the order of release after changing to brand name Switch
let check the date with them.
I got a 25 on seowo, 47 on ryuzo, 29 on Waseon, 49 on Gyoha, 56 & do not recast on damhyeon

 

@mugenkaze it should be by order of the head being sculpted( Rion released in 2020 got no.60 but Taerin released in 2018 got no.61) but some older SNG heads don't have a number even they being re-released as Switch...

 

@Evazeth - oh, yes. sculpted order is more reasonable. old heads without remold may not have a number.
let see who is remained?
i remember there are some unpopular heads which are closed.

The new mocha Yido head with makeup for Platina is so gorgeous!! I wish I could enter into the lottery but sadly, it’s not possible as an American. I hope he gets another release soon.

 

I canNOT believe I might get a real shot at owning Gyoha M. I am beside myself. Between him and milk tea Waseon, I will have my Switch grails. I asked FaithZ if they would be getting him on their website and they said they're asking, but they most likely would.

Here I was ready to pay $600 for that head too XD Crossing my fingers he'll be available for us.

 

I just purchased my first switch head Shiho through Faithz today! I can't wait to plan out his character.

 

Yay! An owner of a Milktea Rose Soseo head has finally answered me, so it seems like I'm getting myself one of my grails! I've been admiring the sculpt and the skintone for the longest time. So excited! I don't think this will be my last Switch guy in this skin colour either...

 

My sweet Soseo has finally arrived! He looks gorgeous even without a face. The skin colour... man. I need 10 more of those.
I'm saving up to get him a 70 Attractive body, and I was wondering if anyone owns it yet. I couldn't find any owner photos of this body anywhere.

 

Congrats! I got a Soseo recently and hes such a beautiful sculpt! Maybe 70 Attractive hasn't arrived to owners yet? IIRC it's quite new from Switch.

Sure! I was actually SUPER lucky to find one secondhand in my country (like wow, we don't have too many people in the hobby to begin with) on BJDClub, which is a forum for people who speak Russian but not exclusively for Russians, I guess.I got into Switch guys lately and I was stalking all the resources available including Instagram (couldn't find anything there either - how do people even do that?) without looking for any specific guy when I saw that Soseo head. Couldn't believe my luck! Now I just have to figure out how that point back event works so I can get my boy a body sooner...

 

Oh nice!! Yeah the Switch secondhand market is a bit of a wild west. I just follow the #fromswitch and #bjdforsale hashtags and check often for listings. So far I've seen Soseo, Yido, Pavian and Ryuzo but no Waseon. Hope that helps if you want to try Instagram ^^

Yes me too! Even secondhand older heads are not cheap Hope Switch releases your dream boys soon! Is there any way for us to know which heads will be released soon?

 

I follow Switch on Twitter and Instagram. They've recently announced the release of Ajeong Closer ver. and Gyoha Moebius, both scheduled for April. They didn't mention the exact date but I think they're more likely to be released at the end of the month.

 

They post a teaser image at the beginning of each year on their social media with little hints and clues as to which heads will be released. There's also an annual summer survey asking for feedback too so that's a good time to request who you want to come back.

Switch will have a year plan poster released on Dec/Jan, but still hiding lots of secret heads.
Mocha brown heads in doll events of this year are surprise, also for milktea ajeong & gyoha:Moebius
Special heads for official dealers will be announced by themselves.
sometimes Switch will change their release plan reflected to comments from customers
just like their recent twitters.

I am waiting for gyoha:Moebius in this year after cutting down half of my dolls.
