i ordered damhyeon. and iim excited to get it by september. anyone here who owns him also? would love to see your pics of him.

I'm conflicted about Yozo!! He is absolutely gorgeous - especially the nose and mouth. But to me the eyes look kind of... off? They seem very far apart. I'd like to see his blank head along with what the actual makeup will be since I'm assuming this is the promo. I do really want one in Milktea Rose though.

 

anyone tried a switch head on a loongsoul 68cm body? how was it?

 

His eyes do seem a bit far apart to me too - but maybe it's because they're long and narrow. Some of the other sculpts seem to have the same starting point on the eyes and it looks fine. I still want to order him, I wish I could see more pictures. Anyone else getting him? I wish I had bought the milk tea Obsess legs instead of white. I knew I was going to regret this xD

 

in my opinion it looks like the nose is what’s throwing me “off”..
The very slim nose coupled with the exaggerated winged eyeliner “I think” is making the eyes seem even more wide set.

Anyhoo......he’s cool looking. Unusual...... but cool looking.

i think maybe the position of the eyes they chose are not helping with the overall look, sort of pointing a bit funny? i would love to see the blank head, as it might really look nice blushed another way too. it takes a bit for them to post the blanks though right?

i wish i'd had a chance to nab the obsess legs, totally missed 'em... wonder if you can put them on other bodies, or only the Switch made?

 

I think I stand by his eye shape just being different. Maybe the faceup is exaggerating it. He has nostrils and his nose is thin, but it's not drastically different from normal. His eyes are long and narrow. A lot of emphasis is being put to the bottom of his eyes with the faceup and his eye liner looks winged. If you take your finger and cover up the winged parts and just cover it to the end of his actual eye, he looks a lot more.... normal? Even though he still has the cat like eyes. The starting point near the ducts are in the same place, but it's narrow until it opens up towards the back. It's all just an illusion I think.

 

shoot, i don't think i said it right, i should clarify, i meant the focus of the irises of his eyes are sort of off, one is pointing way down - left on the page, the doll's right eye, if it was rotated up just a tad? or the other was looking all the way to the opposite corner? or maybe just the camera shine makes it look that way? now i'm second guessing myself. it's all sort of an illusion, i agree... and, he's still very very pretty i like the cat eye look and eyeliner myself, but something just catches my eye funny in the photo.

Does anyone know if Switch meant that milktea will be available from now on in the monthly order? Like every month?

I want to order a milktea head and get the body later preferably, but I don't want to screw myself over and have to try to find the body on the MP if they won't offer it every month

 

It does look like it will be available for the monthly order for an a additional 10 dollars. It is currently listed as an option on the listing.

Hi everyone, I am new to bjd in general and Switch.
I wonder what to expect of the Milktea Rose skin?
They kind of scare me with the pictures of all the possible issues of this type of skin. (spots, marbling, parting lines and what else they mention)
Can the bodies be sanded? Do they really have such issues in this intensity?

Their normal skin options don't have parting lines?

 

i own a Mocha Brown body, Switch tan resin can not be sanded.
skin color will be whiten after sanding.
my body get significant parting lines in his arm, little scratch which looks like color difference in shoulder joint
other parts look good after 2yrs

NS body get parting lines but sanding can settle it
MR skin is lighten than MB, i believe these problem will be less significant.
tan resin is not a good choice in beginning if u hope there is perfect doll

 

Thank you for the information. Are there pictures of mocha brown or Milktea bodies somewhere? It seems I always only find people showing the heads.
It is a beautiful color, but yes I may better choose normal skin

I wonder; I read that Luts normal skin matches switch normal skin. Does Luts have such parting lines too? I think I heard some companies sand them for the customer?

 

the bodies are the same, only skin tone is different. Switch have a comparison photo for these skin tone

most brand get parting lines. parting lines is negligible on my luts body.
some company offer sanding as a default option
i own 4 bodies, for parting lines issue, the best should be Volks - SD17 > Luts SuperSeniorDelf > Switch MB=Iplehouse RS SID
last two are tan resin, lines can more noticeable than NS.

 

It was more that I would really like to see the Milktea body in a way that helps me decide if I would like them despite the issues. Switch seems to only show the normal skin body and the super close ups for the Milktea Version. Of course the super close ups are.. unflattering xD

There are some Luts dolls I like, sounds like their dolls may be a great start. Thank you again

I can also vouch for what Mugenkaze said. I have Switch bodies in mocha and NS and they’re not perfect. The mocha especially has marbling and very noticeable seam lines. Despite that, it’s still beautiful and I love it. But if those things will bother you definitely go with something else!

 

I haven't hold any resin bjds in my own hands so far, so I am definitely thankful for any advice.
Are there companies you can specifically recommend? I am thinking of Luts or Ringdoll.
Or maybe buy a NS Switch head of the boy I want (Ryuzo) and get a Luts body for him

 

Ringdoll makes beautiful dolls but their wait times are very long. I would expect no less than a year. Luts makes lovely dolls and I think many people use their bodies with a Switch head. You can’t go wrong there! Although, the Switch body in NS is quite nice if that’s what you’re thinking about. I personally have a preference of avoiding hybrids but others here might have more advice on that matter.

I heard about the wait times for some manufacturers, this hobby seems to need a lot of patience. But I am not really in a rush anyway. (need to decide whom to get first too xD)

Switch manufacturing time is around 3 months for head part, on time under COVID.
Luts has big discounts every year, need to patient if u made an event order.
Ringdoll is definately a year plan, waiting time is far longer than others.
Shipping time is a concern for recent order. Second hand market maybe a choice to own one.
Switch has a variety of doll, more than 50 sculpts ? There always be one suitable for u.

 

It took me two months but I finally found a wig I like for Hahwa. Now he just needs a name

Hopefully I can do a fun photo shoot with him soon.

 

My heart is shattered. I had my Doha stored safely in his box waiting for all his accessories. I went to compare him to my Yido only to my horror finding his faceup is cracked! I'm not sure what to do other than have him completely repainted.

 

This may cause be humidity change or temperature change. Coating is cracked.

 

Nice choice! I also have a NS Ryuzo Head and I hybrid it with an Akagidoll 66cm body; it is an amazing hybrid proportion and color match. I can show you pictures of him, if you want.

@BlankLucky I’m sorry to hear that your Doha’s faceup has cracked; it must be quite disheartening to go through this negative experience, BJD wise.

I know! I’m obsessed with his sculpt! Well, all of his photos are of him showing skin; I haven’t been able to buy clothes for him however, I research that SD17 clothes fit him really well.

HD70 bodies have slim waist comparing with other 70cm bodies. HD70 Attractive get a muscular arm.

Ah, I got my hopes up for a second, but both bodies are still to muscular for what I need.

 

I want to see a photo of a blank yozo head so bad. He looks so pretty, but I want be positive that I love sculpt more than the faceup. I think I like the sculpt.

 

Switch discloses makeup of Rosy white Hwayeon today. A suprising release, first time to see same doll open so frequently.

 

Hello everyone just wanted to ask how long does it take to ship out when the status is before shipping. I'm not particularly antsy but I am curious. @mugenkaze oh how often does switch release the same sculpt?

 

I can answer the first question! The product details page will have the estimated production time for each item. Switch has been very timely with shipping from my experience. Dolls usually take about three months (longer if a face-up is selected). Wigs and clothing vary - usually about 60 business days.

 

@poisonapple88 Ah I see, I saw that production time so I was little surprised the order updated before the 60 days but I'm guessing it'll still be a while longer. Thank you for responding!

 

Switch usually shipped the head on time. Head with makeup maybe 2 weeks to 4 weeks later depends on amount of orders.
Re-release will happens one to two years after the first release. You may have a chance to get one if official dealers organize event's sale.

 

@mugenkaze Oh I see so that's how their releases work, very nice to know this!.Hopefully my boy gets here in the next month, and I've been tempted by those wolf ears lol

I'm debating really hard between Yozo and Hwayeon! I know I've got like a week or so to really make up my mind but it's so tough, I'm not used to having this many time-sensitive choices all at once.

 

I ordered Hwayeon through Faithz right before the new bodies were released... ughhhh I so would have gone for the 70cm body

They are literally in the same place as a lot of the other eyes. The shape is what is throwing everyone off. Look at Yido, Hwayeon, etc. Same distance between eyes. I am having a hard time understanding how people are not seeing this. The MAIN open part, where our yes would be drawn to focus on, is farther back because the beginnings of his eyes are narrow so it appears like they are, but his eyes are in the same place as a lot of other sculpts. and now I see the little wing on his eyes is actually built in which makes the long narrow effect greater, which is neat imo, but still. It's just the shape, not the placement

Damn the wait for this boy is long, Switch keeps getting longer and longer even before the pandemic. I'm really sad they didn't offer the original faceup shown with him originally - but then again I am just not a fan of wiggly long eyebrows xD

 

Switch never offer the debut faceup which is drawn by their boss. But they are so attractive and addictive.
Yozo is an image of fox so there is his narrow eye shape.
I think idea of Hwayeon is came from snake, maybe animal like is main character of this series?

 

Yes, this was my initial impression as well. It may be just an optical illusion but I can't help but notice it! I am planning to wait for their 10-year anniversary event dolls to see if there are any I like better.

 

I noticed the Yozo head takes 14mm eyes. What size for the iris, though? Smaller like 4.5? Or more like 7? I can't gauge it.

 

Yozo is a very nice sculpt but I've got my eyes set on a Mocha Brown boy. I'd assume a smaller iris would work better just so it'd look more natural.

 

Does anyone know where I could find jointed hands to match switch’s milktea rose skin?
