I am interested in purchasing Switch Ryuzo and I would like to know if the head will fit a Volks SDGr or SD13 body I am also wondering if Powder Beige or Milktea Rose will be a better match for Volks Normal Skin body. If anyone can offer me any insight and advice on the body match, it will be greatly appreciated!

 

@Bloodberry Personally, I feel like anything less than 65 cm is too small for Ryuzo's head. I mostly see people put Ryuzo on SD17/70 cm bodies. As for the skin, Powder Beige is a better match for Volks Normal. Milktea Rose is much more pink and a bit darker.

 

Wow, the jeans are gone in less than 4 hours, and I didn't manage to buy any. Guess I will have to sew some myself, haha.

 

I was up at 3 am and dithered about whether they would fit my 65 cm body. Mistake. They went in about 15 mins. The only item in the clothing line I was remotely interested in. The shirt and t are massive on the 70cm and would drown a 65 cm. I do have a gorgeous realistic pair of jeans I got in a pack I bought online. Whether they fit my doll is another thing though as I have months to wait till the body arrives.

 

I managed to get a pair of the new jeans! Didn't expect them to go so fast though! They might be too big on the 65cm body, but hopefully they are alright. I bought the shirts too and a few accessories cause why not since shipping is so expensive, lol.

Now I have everything ready for when my boy arrives in a few months

Recently I bought a Taerin Eclipse head in Rosy white.
Does anyone know if any skin color from Angel of Dream matches Switch Rosy white skin?

I have finally received the Tianba eyes I ordered last year for my Switch boys, so I thought I'd share some pics! The blue ones are meant for my RW Ryuzo but I was too lazy to take him out of the box so I decided to try them on my Gyoha instead. The blue ones are 14/7, the brown ones are 14/5. I was a little worried that 5 mm iris will give my boy a "deer in headlights" look but he looks amazing! Honestly, I even find 14/7 eyes a little unrealistic on Gyoha. There is some space between the eyesocket and the eyeball due to the curve of the eyeball, so maybe 16/6 eyes will fit him better? I will order some next time Tianba opens commission and see how it goes.

i have the switch waseon 2015 head. i'd like to ask if there is any difference with the recent releases of this head? like few official modifications?

 

@Ifiamondy Switch hasn't mentioned making any mods to the head.

@Cloudedmind He looks amazing (as do all your crew). Love all his little face moles. Can I ask what size eyes you have in him please? The iris size looks small but they suit him so. I have an Ajeong Closer myself and just bought some narrow 16mm eyes from Enchanted and have to say they look great too. (Not the ones in my avatar).

 

I saw his doll profile on the main page and I didn't even realise that he's an Ajeong, even though I also have one. Maybe because his face-up is unusual. I haven't seen one in a style like this, but it suits him well, it's very striking. And do you mind me asking where his shirt is from? It's so pretty!

By the way, I haven't written in the Switch topic until now, but I really like their sculpts. I think they're my favourite company.

 

Thanks! He currently has 16mm eyes with a 6mm iris. They're just big enough to have the white fill all of the eye, and I find the iris is small enough to give him a more intense look. I'd tried another 16mm eye with a bigger iris, and liked the ones he has in now best.

@manekinekonokuni Yes, I'd love to send more heads to her, unfortunately, she lives in Russia, so it may be quite some time before that can happen.

 

Looks like the next sculpt from Switch (June) will be Seolrok. He looks pale and interesting and has horns!

 

I really like how Seolrok looks on promo photos. If I like the company face-up, I might get him...

 

So it's the original Seolrok, that I believe has bigger eyes, right? By the way, I have a question. Is there a difference between Seolrok Hiver and Holy? Because the company pictures always show him with face up, and I just don't see any difference besides the name.

I would probably like to have someone from Switch some day, but the problem is that most of their heads fit bodies taller than my size limit (about 62 cm). So maybe someone could help me and say which of their dolls fit smaller bodies?

 

Yiwon, Taerin, Sanhong and Choyo fit 60 cm bodies. Taerin Eclipse is shown on a 60 cm Attractive boy body on promo photos if you want to check for proportions!

 

Oh, thank you, I'll check! My favourite molds are Damhyeon and Hwayeon though, but I suppose they're not an option size-wise

 

Most likely. 65 cm is as small as they can go body-wise.

 

Well, I'll keep that in mind, maybe some day I decide this size is OK!

 

Just putting this out there, but depending on your esthetics, there are chunkier bodies that work with the larger heads. I rotate heads out on an SD13 body, and most look decent. Currently I have a Soseo on the SD13 until he gets his own body, and the proportions are not bad at all~

I like slender bodies though.

 

Literally, a Volks SD13 body. I prefer a lot of slender bodies, and I love 65cm+, but these bodies still look really good, especially clothed. To be fair, I have much older ones and color matching isn't a problem for me, but wanted to be sure to mention it as a shorter alternative for some of the larger heads.

Seolrok Holy has a more open mouth and comes with teeth parts I believe. Seolrok Hiver doesn't have separate teeth parts. They're sculpted as part of the mouth.

I'm a little tempted to get regular Seolrok since I'm quite fond of the sculpt and have a Seolrok Hiver but I kind of wish they would make a version with a more closed mouth. I've already got more open-mouthed sculpts than I thought I would ever get.

 

Thank you so much! That's very good to know, because I just found the perfect excuse to get an open-mouthed doll, and especially a Seolrok one day. I would like to make a beauty with blackened teeth from the Heian period. And I think there's no such thing as too many open-mouthed dolls. They look so lively, they probably make wonderful photo subjects, if you're into photography.

 

My Rion head with the Arza faceup showed up at my door yesterday. I didn't receive an email about my order being shipped at all so this is a pleasant surprise. I bought a DF-A 68cm body that seemed to fit okay. The neck area is juuuust a bit tight. I'm super happy

I'm so out of touch in the bjd hobby for a long time, I've been moving and then I'm getting ready to move again with my bf and I haven't been able to catch up. I just recently got Ving bodies for my switch boys, I haven't gotten the chance to get them out and test them but I'll definitely post pics when I do!

 

Oh, haven't thought about Volks Thank you for the photo, the hybrid looks good, although I should think over the proportions.

Confusing status about my Ryuzo head: "preparing for shipping" but the '3 months' box is highlighted.
Does that mean 3 months before he will ship? What an odd way to post info.
Can someone clarify? Thx a bunch.

 

And which ones, the 68 cm or the 70 cm?

 

If you had bought it in May, especially with faceup, then it will take around 3 months to ship.
Switch always gives an estimated delivery date, just scroll down on Ryuzo's page to the end of the pictures and you will find it (the "my orders" page is completely confusing). I think for Ryuzo, it was given to be the beginning of September, so you can expect the package around that time. Hope it helps!

I got the 68cm ones, one in rosy white, and one in normal.

 

Then I'm really interested in what you think of them, because they sure look nice, and 68 cm seems like a relatively "friendly" size.

 

Seolrok not for me but I have been keeping my eye on a Hwayeon head for a while and decided to go for it ..... so he's on his way. He'll match my ordered Switch body and will head share with my Ajeong C. Good luck to all those who go for Seolrok and I hope he sticks around for you to order longer than Ryuzu and Doha did.

I have similar question before, you can check order status guideline here. When it change to "Awaiting Shipment", that means ready for shipping.

Got an Email this morning from Switch. My 65 Attractive body has shipped. Now how long will I wait? So happy ...he's on his way to me.

 

May I ask, which resin tone you chose for the head? Or did you go with resin matching? Thanks a lot in advance ♡

 

There wasn't an option to choose the head color. By default it's listed as "Powder beige." The DF-A body I got was "normal pink." I was hoping to use the same body for another head. I compared a bunch of pictures on here and Instagram and just hoped for the best. There is a slight color difference, but it's not super apparent.

So, the normal pink is actually a good match for Switch's powder beige? (it looks awesome on your photo!) I'm asking because I've been considering a DF-A body for my Switch head for the longest time and I'm unsure whether to go with their default resin tones or ask for resin matching. But a slight difference doesn't sound too bad ^-^

 

I went to look and snapped a photo on my phone.
Compared to the jointed hands, (which came with the body) the head does look a bit more beige. It's not apparent from just the neck. I have only looked at him with indoor lighting. Paying a bit more for resin matching might be a good idea. It would be bad if the color seems off, and that ends up being a pain point somewhere down the line. Personally I think it's just a hue off, but with clothes on it wouldn't be noticable.

I will probably inquire about resin matching either way and - depending on price point and availabilty - decide if to go through with it or not. But again, thanks a lot for your input!! hello, i just got ajeong (not yet arrived) & i’d like to ask ajeong owners to recommend suitable eye sizes — i can’t seem to decide between 16/7 or 16/8 16 normal seems just right but what would the size of the iris be? any help would be much appreciated!

 

I don't know if it's useful or not, but my Ajeong has eyes that came with another doll, and I think it has a normal iris size.

speaking of eyes what's the usual size ur doll wears for a realistic look? 14mm small iris? i own waseon, damhyeon, pavian, sohwa

 

yes, that would be right I have a Pavian and Yido, and 14mm small iris so far yields the most realistic look on both of them.

 

the new doll Taeo will be released next month. his eyes are quite small in the promotion photos.

My Attractive 65 body arrived on the hottest day of the year here. His head now has it's body and I'm so ultra happy about this after the long wait. Manicure and pedicure look amazing. I'm so glad I had them done. It's too hot though to try all his clothes and shoes on. Got totally overheated trying to get a wig on and hot flushing!!! I did try on his high tops ... all that lacing is a nightmare ... they may be a bit big though. Back in his box to the back of my wardrobe in the cool until the temp returns to normal.

 

He reminds me of an older Rion. Looking forward to seeing more pictures of him.
