Supia (MiniSup) Mini Discussion Part 1

Kataxenna as far as eye size goes, I prefer a smaller eye size than the one specified, but I have had her in 12mm as well. Angelique's wearing Glausaugen 10mm in this pic. **click little for big**

 

Okay, I'm subscribing to this thread. I want to order a Yan but it will have to wait until the next ordering period as I just got a Unoa and I have NO funds. Why are there always so many dolls I want and so little money. LOL I can't wait for everyone to get their beauties. I would love to see more photos especially of Yan as there aren't too many of her.

 

Yeah, it doesn't seem like there are too many Yans around. T_T I think she's so cute. Keep your eyes peeled for Box opening photos, I plan on doing that this time around.

 

Haha - when I first went nuts about the Minisups all you could find were Yans and I was all 'where are the Yisols??" but i guess thats changed a bit....

 

That it did some. ^^ But thats alright! Im excited to get my Yan. Just her name is up for thought. Hehe.

 

Oh NO!...I have been wanting to buy a tan Yisol! I have the money but I promised myself no more dolls for a while...Im so tempted.

Help! What should I do...!

If its any consolation, I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more dolls this year... that was three dolls ago!

Before I knew what I hit me I pressed "submit order" and Yan is ordered!

lizbeth That's a tough one. I know what you mean. I keep promising myself no more dolls but they still keep showing up on my door. It's getting bad and I need to stop. If you can wait another 6 or so weeks then hold off and order in the next ordering period. But if you think that money will be gone by then (a very real possibility) then order now. I know, I'm no help. Good luck deciding.

I don't have a Minisup but this did happen with my Narin. I was moving his head to get a shirt on him and the bar that holds the head onto the neck slipped off and he fell apart in my hands. I almost freaked out at first but he was easy to put back together and it has not happened since. I've had him over a year. I just try not to bend his head/neck too much. I still move it around but I don't push it really far. Does the pin sit into the groove well? Could the pin be too big and it not sit in well? Perhaps the previous owner changed the pin and maybe just getting a smaller one might help. When I made a Unoa hybrid I just got a thin nail and cut off the end to make it the right length and it works great.

 

I think it is the pin that maybe too short to sit in both grooves at the same time, securely.
A nail is a good idea. I'm so new to restringing issues. I was looking at the inside of her head, & though maybe an "s" hook? I'm not even sure I know what I'm talking about! LOL
My dollinian has an s hook. I think Sooah does too. They seem so much sturdier than that skinny bar!

Your tan yisol is just beautiful dollmania ! I have a french resin yisol but I would like a tanned one.... eyes are great with this skin too ! just some pics of mine .....

I actually asked for darker eyeliner for the face up (i requested smokey eyes and they did it fine for my Yan) so i dont know what happened there but she still looks lovely.

How is the posability on the Yan? How tightly is she strung? I know my AoD can be fairly limited in some ways, so I'm curious how Supia's dolls stand the test. ^.^ Getting as much info as I can before the next ordering period.

Thank you very much laurmann I think yisol has a great poseability, better than narae, she can stand up on her feet. They are different but both are really lovely, and bodies are different too.. look here

 

I find the knees tend to want to pop so they are bent all the time but if I want her to stand I can easily make her do so (but then I have never had trouble making a doll stand and find it strange when people say they are having issues).
Because of her poppy knees and also I find the top leg joint moves around a LOT I am too scared to try and make her do that one legged pose you see in the promo photos.
And the only other thing is because she is so new her wrist joints seem a bit stiff.

But really - shes a great poser.
Hopefully it will be a nice day tomorrow so I can take her outside for some natural light pics.

I love Naraes - but wow - the Minisup mold is sooooo much more detailed isnt it????

 

Soudane, I do love Minisups and I covet them enormously, but I am surprised that you said your Narae can't stand! My girl stood right out of the box and 2years later is still standing, anywhere, everywhere.

 

I agree, endorwitch. Angelique has that poppy knee thing, too, but she's still a super poser.
*click to enlarge* She held this pose easily for several shots, even though between the high heels and the steps, it was a bit unstable. I have had her in the promo shot pose as well.

Thank you so much. It's very good to know that these dolls are good posers and good standers. I wish I had unlimited funds because I really want a Minisup AND a Narae. But I guess I'm not alone in wanting the unlimited funds.

 

I feel you Laura. Plus, I have seen the Minisups in person (and I have a big Supia girl) so I know how beautiful they are. Ooof.

 

Wow, the sculpting on the Supia bodies is just amazing! The Naraes are gorgeous too, but I love all the detail on the Supias. <Sigh> The waiting is agony~~~~~~~~

 

Man...I hope too get my Yan soon. T_T She has so many clothes already.. Just waiting to be filled.

 

Me too. I got to see one at a meet and the thing that struck me the most about her was her hands. I just thought they were adorable. LOL

Hear hear! I second that, very muchly. ^ If I ever get up the nerve to actually buy a doll I do believe it'll be a Minisup, tanned. Certainly the photos are very persuasive!

So I'll just keep watching this page from the shadows to see when the new ordering period begins... *slinks away*

 

Those are lovely shots, endorwitch. Yisol is so photogenic! I can't decide which I like best, but the outdoor shots are awfully pretty. Her little grey dress is beautiful & very versatile, too. Have you decided on a name for her yet?

 

Just wondering, does Supia sand the seams on the tanned girls?

 

No. I can see some of my girls seams.

For instance look at the pic above with the blue light on her - the line going down her neck and across her shoulder is the seam....pretty obvious in that pic...but the lighting makes it look worse in that pic.

Supia dolls and Dollga dolls have a reputation for being strung too tightly
as told to me by my friend.

 

The knees are EVIL but you can do it!!

I usually have her torso arched back a little so she will stand as soon as I am ready to put her down, then i will swivel the top part of the legs a bit to how i want them to pose (though you may have to change them again when you put her down because she may not balance right) and THEN straighten the knees - then put her down to stand.

She WILL stand - you just gotta be willing to fight her natural inclination to bend the knees!

If it wasnt 2:57am i would make a lil video for you!

The more you play around with her, the looser her stringing will get. Angelique can be temperamental at times (ha!) but can be persuaded if properly motivated to stand.
"Diamonds and Mio? Of course I'll model!"

"This new London wig makes me feel much more like modeling."

I think it's getting her balanced, once the kicky knee falls into place. She's not nearly as tempermental as Lishe was, though. Most of the time, I just stand her up and she's staying like a rock.

 

Deb! That London wig looks even better on her in the pics than it did at the trunk show on Saturday. She's such a gorgeous little thing.
