Supia (MiniSup) Mini Discussion Part 1

May 25, 2006

    1. thank you Shelley@!
I understand, I had to receive mine mid - August, but supiadoll pushed 2 times the date of sending. she arrived in autumn with a swimsuit!:doh:lol:

    2. @Alixir Charlie is so pretty! I like her faceup. :)

I forgot to update that my Yisol arrived a few weeks ago. I still need to give her a faceup.

    3. Has anyone tried putting different hands on their dolls? The one thing I hate about the minisup bodies are their hands, they look so....weird! :sweat

    4. I might try Dollmore hands but I'm still waiting for my girl to arrive :)

    5. hello, my Charlie (hannah) is come since few week now. I have not time for the moment but i like her! I think try minifee hands
      when I will have time!:drool

    6. Alixir: where did you find this green wig? The colour is amazing!

    7. Thank you, it's a very lovely colour :thumbup

    8. I recently got my tan Sujin and finally had time to do her faceup and I thought I'd share her because I am over the moon about her! X3 This is just an off the cuff shot I took after I finished her faceup so pardon my mess lol.

    9. @Tsukiyono Your Sujin is beautiful! I love the faceup you've given her, it has a lovely natural look. :)

@shelley Oh please show pictures if you try them. ^_^

@Alixir Minifee hands are magnetic, I don't know if you could use the magnetic attachment on the supia body but feels a bit complicated. I hope supia bring out new hands one day. :P

    10. @Supernova Thanks! Natural looks are pretty much my jam haha ;D

    11. i have one free magnetic part for minifee hands because last time my minifee have a handles problem and fairyland gived me not one but 2 pairs of handles

    12. I'm so happy! Just checked my order status on Supia website, and it says ''Before Shipping''! So, looks like my girl will be shipped very soon and will probably be here just before Christmas!

Supernova: I have three different MSD hand pairs from Dollmore at the moment, do you have preference or will any of them do? I could try hands of Judith girl, Catish girl (long nails) or Ballerina.

    13. Just wanted to pop in and share a new picture of my very old Yisol! I got her second hand almost 8 years ago! Hard to believe it has been that long! Here is Epiphany!

    14. Well, my order is still ''before shipping''. I guess next year seems like a more likely day of the arrival.

Looking through Supia's Q&A page though I've noticed somebody's post about a possible Supia Rosy's recast by a Russian doll maker Alena Sulyamova. I've tried to google and yes, sadly there's already a recast available! How disheartening it must be for an artist to see that their new doll is already being bootlegged. The comparison photos are posted on one Russian forum as well but some comments I saw there are actually against the fact that somebody is making a ''fuss'' about the recast. This is very sad.

    15. Just received my Minisup Hayul, next day after Christmas! Couldn't think of a better time to get her.
Here she is, with Dollmore wig and 10mm acrylic eyes :celebrate

Supernova: I'm afraid Dollmore hands would not fit the Minisup girls. Supia's MSDs are in a slightly different scale than Dollmore's! Dollmore girls are just somehow... bigger! I've taken a photo comparison of their hands - Minisup on the left, Dollmore Ballet Kid on the right.

    16. @shelley Congrats on your hayul, she looks stunning! Shame about the hands but I'm sure I'll find some that fit. :)

    17. I see what you meant about the Minisup hands before. I wouldn't be against to have them changed either. Fingers look a bit too long to me compared to the whole length of the hand, and too much spread out.

Did anybody try ordering older type hands from Supia? (called Original type, link here).
Shipping seems a bit pricy, about the same as hands alone if shipping to UK.
I wonder if they keep them in stock or make them as ordered.

    18. I don't suppose any of you have some accurate head measurements for your minisups? I'm so interested in the line but I can't find much in the way of their circumference that is more specific than 6-7 wigs. I'm not even sure if their head sizes vary much.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    19. My Minisup Hayul's head is about 6.5 inches. I got her a wig from Dollmore which is classed as ''7 inch'' and it fits her perfectly. I have some wigs that are called ''7-8 inch'' but these are too big for her.

    20. Thats great, thank you Shelley!

    21. I just ordered my Minisupia Hannah! :) I want to start buying some clothes for her, anyone can tell me if Nine9style MSD clothes fit her? Or any recommendation of any other shop with casual clothes? :dance

    22. I have a hannah, she's a beautiful sculpt! She fits into TTYA denim pants really well! She can also wear minifee tops and shares alot of my minifee shoes. Her hips are a bit too big for minifee clothes but she can wear a lot of standard msd bottoms. I think nine9style should fit her fine. :)

    23. TTYA has really nice clothes, so that's good to know, thanks!! :thumbup

    24. I’m currently waiting for my minisup Dorothy to come in and I haven’t seen any owner photos of her. Soooo has any one got any owner photos of her?

    25. I want to order a Minisup girl thru Fabric Friends and Dolls, but I can't decide on a head, sigh. I know I want the new double jointed body, but I'm torn between Dorothy, Haru, Hyul, and Yan. No, I can't order them all at once, lol!

Edit: I settled on Haru first, Yan will be next. :)

    26. What eyes do you lovely people have on your Hayul's? I'm an "I love seeing the white of the eyes" girl, but I'm not sure if I can get it by going 14mm small iris or 12mm.

    27. 12mm is ideal :)

    28. I also find the fingers a little thin and longer

      My hannah head size 17,3cm

    29. I'm so tempted to get one they are all such nice sculpts and seeing everyones here looking so good. They're having 10% off right now, free shipping over $300. I think i'm falling for dorothy

    30. I am thinking about it too @Glitt3rGalaxy but I'm not sure which sculpt to get! Too many choices.

I want a light tan girl, and I was thinking about Hannah or Sujin, but I haven't seen many pics of Dorothy, I'll have to have a look!

    31. I'm stuck between Hannah and Dorothy, and you're right there isnt many pictures of Dorothy out there. Ugh I can't decide!

    32. Here's a picture of my Dorothy! She is WS with smokey makeup.

    33. Eeeek so I bit the bullet and ordered myself a MiniSup Hayul in *light tan skin. It was super close as to whether to get her or Sujin or Yisol (all too cute!)

The free shipping and 10% off double jointed body was too tempting. Guess I can get another head later if I change my mind? ;)

    34. I was trying to find it on supia’s website, but I can’t seem to find it. Does anyone know the neck opening measurements for a Dreaming Rosy? I want to hybrid one.

    35. @SophieSinister try asking in the SD thread! This one is meant for the MSDs and Supia is a SD :) so there people should know!

    36. Oh sorry!!

    37. Hello! Just a question, if you can help me please:

What's the current wait time for a minisup? I've placed an order in mid Febuary, and I haven't heard a word from them. I've emailed them asking if everything was ok because I was under the notion their production time was little less than a month. But I haven't heard back from them either.

If you have any insight, please share!

    38. My most recent order took just about 3 months. I think their normal production time is more like 2 or 2-1/2 months. I've heard that they're running a little behind right now.

    39. Hey I ordered my minisup on 01/01/18 and it arrived today 13/04/18.

    40. NICE!! I'm getting second-hand excited hearing that from you. How is their quality?

      • x 1
    41. Haha thank you! I got a Dorothy in normal skin with the natural face up. There was one quite evident seemline on her hand but it went away quite easily. The others are in the sockets or on the inside of the limbs so really not noticeable unless you are inspecting her. Her faceup is lovely, one of her lashes is a little off in the top but again only noticeable is you are inspecting her closely. In regards to the head cap it stays on really well with magnets but the bottom magnet you can see through the resin and looks a bit blueish, again not a massive issue as this will be covered by a wig.
Any info you want to hear that I haven’t mentioned?
I have lots of box opening photos, so I can pop those up if you would like.

    42. I'm kind of hesitant to get one now.

    43. That period does include some holidays. Three months is not an unusual wait.

      • x 1
    44. If you have a look at the minisup waiting room you will get a better idea of how long it normally takes.
I ordered mine at new years so there have been holiday and things. I also ordered when a sale was on so they would have gotten a high volume of orders at that time. On the supia web page it tells you their normal wait times for the doll and for a face up. Don't forget that time includes postage and customs.

    45. From their site it states approximately 2 months + including face up.

That's a super long wait. Were they responsive to your queries? Do you have link of the waiting room?

    46. Two months in this hobby is pretty regular and fast! Like everything up to four months is pretty normal and you of course have the super horrible wait times of like Dollshe with 1 to 2 years

      • x 5
    47. That's really not that long for a doll. When I ordered my hannah last year it took about 2 1/2 months. Events and weather can have an effect on wait times. They responded quickly to me when I asked questions.

If you don't like waiting 2 months then you should probably try buying secondhand as you're not going to get much better wait times then that. :sweat

    48. When it comes to expensive hobby i would be very impatient. While I waited for my first doll I forced myself to think of other things.

That doll better be made of diamonds.

    49. Then you are better off waiting for the second hand market ;) waiting in this hobby is pretty normal and usual and it's nothing for the impatient

    50. I didn't ask any questions but people have said they have gotten replies and have even been able to change their order.

      Waiting room: /threads/supia-waiting-room-v3.522870/page-48#post-12424438

    51. It doesn't really matter how much you pay, they still take time to make and the companies are often small with few employees. Imagine casting 10 dolls, sanding down the seams, recasting some pieces due to flaws in the casting process, stringing the dolls together, having faceup/blushing done, quality control and packaging all done between less then 5 people. Usually there is only one person in charge of faceups which is why a faceup really adds to wait time. It's going to take time. These dolls are not mass produced and made to order so the chances of finding a doll you want in stock in very rare.

I think that's the beauty of layaway too. You don't have to put down a large amount of money in one go and by the time you finish the layaway, you don't have much longer to wait.

This hobby can be horrible for waiting and it always seems so much worse at the beginning but you soon get used to it. Even ordering clothes/wigs/eyes requires waiting.

My first ever doll was a in stock doll but my second doll was doll chateau and took 5-6 months to arrive. It was an awful long wait but it did make the box opening that more satisfying! ^_^

    52. I just ordered mine. Shall not think about it.

    53. Um. I just got mine. I waited 2 1/2 months.

    54. What region are you in?

    55. US. I don't want to offend any fans here, but I did not like their quality :/
