Oh I'm glad that you confirm what I supposed! I bought a light rose brown withdoll body for my incoming light rosy brown Riel heads and I hoped it was the same color. Now I can wait for my supia order without stress!
Man the new Abigail sculpt I'm seriously in love with, I want to get her with supia's smokey B makeup and their black resin eyes I think would be a pretty combo!
If I'm remembering right it should just be 9cm, my dreaming Tabitha is also good on her AEdoll ruan mian which if I also remember right is an 8.4cm neck? So not too big.
Is anyone just having the worst time with a Supia girl body? I don't know if she is just strung too tight or something. Posing is non existent. I know they had troubles sitting, but her body has just been super frustrating and it makes me not want to reach out for her. For anyone who has hybrid, what bodies have you gone with? My Hael is in real skin, so light a light tan.
The ballerina body I find tends to run tightly strung, I have restrung mine multiple times and it's still that way, it's very frustrating. I might need to try curling her into the fetal position for a week or two to get her to chill out when I have the energy. If you're strugging with sitting, the trick I learned from here was make the string and the thigh go at a perfect 90° angle and she will sit straighter. Feel free to use the belly joint (mine is hot glue sueded) to make it look better. If I told you I thought she is one of my worst posers in my collection (similar to the iplehouse nSID) would you believe me?
I don’t have much trouble posing the 65 body and have lots of them. I do think all of them do some chest tilting (the boy bodies too) but I’m very used to that. Kathy P on Instagram: "Bae Yong and Mina met in a coffee shop 2 years ago Halloween. He needed a date to go to an exclusive party so he boldly asked her if she would go with him. And she said yes. He’s so glad he asked her. They have been dating ever since. #impldollpeiying #supiadolllydia #dollstory #bjdsofinstagram"
She is definitely the ballerina body. I am not confident in restringing haha. Would having her in the fetal position for awhile help you think? Just to loosen her strings maybe? I’ll try hot glue sueding her stomach joint. See if it helps her at all.
It helped my dollzone slim 75 be less tight, but the worry I have with the ballerina body is if it's looser it may pose even worse than it already does. Which then boils down to a design issue that sueding won't fix. I'd give it a shot to see what you think, I've just been hesitant to do that with my own.
Ugh yeah the ballerina body poses really bad - it makes interacting with my girl very difficult. They’re beautiful though, so if you’re more of a display collector then they’re perfect x) Hoping the 65 is better because I can’t find a hybrid for their “brown” colour, sadly.
I love my Ballerina body, it just took time to get used to. I do photo stories with my dolls too so I handle them a lot, I've also had them in crazy poses lol. Here's my insta post on how I get the ballerina body to sit if it helps: Sophie Martin on Instagram: "Supiadoll Ballerina body I've been asked a few times recently about how the Supia Ballerina body poses. I love this body and it's beautiful, however it can be awkward at first getting it to hold a sitting pose. I struggled before but now I'm used to it I have no problems with her posing. I took these photos a while ago for someone on DOA so I'm posting them here in case anyone finds it useful. #supiadoll #supiadollballerinabody #supia"
Thank you! That does help a lot! I usually just fiddle around with her until she sits but I think this will be helpful. Especially the hot gluing trick.
Helloo~ I've been lurking in this thread for a bit, loving everyone's new Supias. They are all so gorgeous! Something about them is just so captivating. Ji-in has stolen my heart. If I remember correctly, old Supia resin was a match to Volks NS or Luts NS from like around 2009 or so? I've been trying to understand how the current resin options from Supia compare, and I'm a little lost. There's a lot to catch up on since I popped back into the hobby Can anyone here help point me in the right direction for my research? I'm trying to match an A.I.R. head made in 2009ish that is close to Volks NS and close-ish to Luts NS resin from around the same time well, and my dream would be to get her one of Supia's stunning bodies.
My guess is that all of Supia's recent color options will not be yellow enough in tone. Older supia normal is yellower and you might have better luck, but new will look too different.
@Haven_Of_Dolls336 Ahh, good to know. I'm sure matching such an old head is going to be really tricky. I'll just have to save up for my favorite Supia sculpt instead
Tempted to order Abigail but really don't need another one just yet. I'm already waiting on Lua. I ordered her in peach and hoping to find a body to match.
Their peach looks a lot like the current switch normal/volks normal, it shouldn't be too bad to find a body. I have my dreaming Tabitha on the AE doll Ruan Mian body and it looks really nice and poses super well!
Volks Fair/Normal and Switch Powder Beige/Normal are no longer the same: in the past few years Switch changed their resin formula to have pink undertones as opposed to yellow undertones, so a Switch Normal-matching piece of resin will be noticeably pinker toned than a piece of Volks Normal-matching resin.
No problem! Resin matching is difficult enough as is without dollmakers changing colour formulas without any announcement
Is there a more current color chart on the Supia site? The only one I can find is from 2023. To comment on the Supia Beige/Doll Family-H light tan match: I have one of each and they don't match at all, but my beige body is from a couple of years ago. I'm wondering if Supia changed its color lineup again.
Has anyone ordered any of the Supia eyes? Do they look good up close? I like resin eyes with some texture in the iris.
Does anybody know if Supiadoll's old normal skin would match mia pink? I am thinking of hybriding a QQdoll head on it, but worry the body could be too yellow.
@Arimioa I can't be 100% sure of what I'm going to say, but as old normal skin is -if I'm not mistaken- oos for years, there is quite a high probability that it will be too yellow even if kept out of light all the time. It was a light pinkish skintone, so it will depend of the age of the body.
Yeah, that's what I expected I even asked the seller for pictures in a different lighting to be sure. And here I was hoping that maybe it was just the pictures. Well, then it will have to go onto the wishlist for later. Supia's light rose pink (or so I think) might be good though (fingers crossed). Thank you! @Follow-the-Wind
