Spiritdoll 1/4 Smart Mini discussion Part 1

Yes indeed that's the plan. I haven't had to do Naeka's lashes since she got a faceup and I REALLY didn't want to do Remy's when she came home.... plus I have to leave her head off for at least two days so the glue can dry before I put her eyes back in. I have a bad habit of being impatient and putting the eyes in before the lashes are finished drying

Before I settled on Spiritdoll I was actually looking at dollzone for bodies for Lydia. But obviously once I got Remy all those ideas just went right out the window xD

 

yeah totally understandable, I wasnt really in love with the dollzone body I had on her at first thats why I ended up selling it and replacing it with the smartline body. It was a huge improvement!

 

Look, Ma! No sueding! I was playing around with Remy's body while I was supposed to be cleaning up my room and ended up playing with Remy's body. She can stand on one foot! Watch out for doll nudity below

 

Wow there are so many lovely dollies here! I've been eyeing spirit doll for awhile now, hoping I can get one of my own soon enough. I'm happy to say I'm finally getting one of very own XD I'm getting a secondhand Primrose and I'm so excited.

@itzree- wow she has nice balance! Do you think it poses better than Dollzone? I was thinking of making a Dollzone and Spiritdoll hybrid eventually too.

 

I actually could not even comment on that, sorry. I don't own any dollzones. The only thing I've ever had was a pair of dollzone hands and I've sold that whole hybrid body in exchange for a Spiritdoll body xD You'll find that once you've joined this thread it becomes an addiction. As far as balance that was totally by chance. I did that before getting the brilliant idea to stick silicon putty in her joints to help her pose. I think my girls mostly pretty. She can stand on flat feet just fine but getting her to do other poses is difficult for me. The resin is really smooth in the joints and so there's no friction to keep her arms and legs from flopping all over the place. The elbow and knee joints are very nice though.

 

Haha, Yeah, I know what that feels like... I'm partial to super long lashes though, so mine usually wrap into the eye well, so there's less chance of them coming loose :P

I can comment! Though the dollzone body I owned was older, it was a standard poser for MSDs, however the spiritdoll body is far more stable and has a wider range of movement, especially in regards to touching the dolls face or back ^^

 

Oh yeah. I love how Remy can touch her shoulders or touch her face. And she has an excellent crossed arms pose.

[MENTION=53352]KiwiNinamori[/MENTION] I guess your referring to hybriding on a dollzone body + spiritdoll head. I only have the reverse and her head actually doesnt move all that great on this body as far as looking upward is concerned. down, right and left is fine.

Yeah. I have classes from 11:45 - 2:30 in the middle of the week and I'll be super disappointed if I can't be home to receive Lydia's body >___<

 

I've got two days with 12-130 classes, and one with an evening class... I'm crossing my fingers it's that evening class day when my girl shows up, and I'll cross the ones on the other hands for you!

 

Ditto! I have classes three days out of the week. With any luck for me she'll come on a Monday or a Friday.

 

I hope she does! My girl's already in customs (possibly even through them, USPS doesn't update that well), so she might show up tomorrow or Tuesday here. Fingers crossed both our girls show up tomorrow (so I can pick mine up Tuesday after class, and maybe actually finish some homework).

Of course... she's still in customs, since I completely forgot today was a bank holiday and customs wasn't open. At least for my end, though, it means I'll probably get her straight from the postman Wednesday, since I don't have class until late (and it's midday Tues/Thurs).

 

That's weird. Lydia's body has been out of customs since this morning. But I'm also anticipating a Wednesday pickup/delivery. Is it weird to have a box opening for just a body? I'm super excited to be having two spirit bodies now!

Hi everyone! I'm planning on getting a Smart Line Girl body in a near future but I have serious doubts.
If any of you can take a pic of a Smart Line girl next to a SoulDoll Vito I would be very grateful!

 

Lucky! Winry's still stuck in customs, from the look of things, but hopefully she'll be on her way out today and maybe reaching Omaha tonight. I don't think it'd be weird to do an opening for a body, if you're excited for it!

 

She's here!!! OMG!!! Just enough time for me to hop out of the shower and answer the door omg!!! And she came with a tiny wiggggg. I think Lydia's head might be too big for it sadly. we shall see!!!!

Yami_Hanako... I wouldn't necessarily call the smart line a tall MSD, she's the average ~45cm, there are some comparisons with other MSDs in the Vito Thread, but HERE's one to give you an idea of the difference... the Vito is one the left and the YID is on the far right (the withdoll in the photo is shorter than the smart line, closer to Minifee size)... he looks quite a bit taller to me, but not so bad as to be incongruous Hope that helps!!

 

Here's the Boxopening. You guys didn't adequately warn me how large these boobs were!! She's bursting out of everything I put her in! Her old body had large breasts and even the clothes I made for her from then are barely large enough!!! xD

SO after selling/cleaning out the house i had made enough money to get this little girl, well not so little she is 45 cm tall. After waiting about 3 months for her to me made and painted and then shipped from over seas, she finally got her today! I didnt think i would get her today. ITS LIKE CHRISTMAS!!!!! the only scary thing is her "random eyes" she got are crazy scary looking. i am having a hard time uploading photos but ill post an unboxing later and a photo of her here too. but the eyes are kinda way to big but still fit in her head... they are a gold yellow color with white centers...And i have to agree with with ItzreesyBetch; THE LARGE IS HUGE... i cant really fit her into anything. i thought that the reg. looked kinda flat so i got the large thinking she would be on the normal side... boy was i wrong.

i have one pair of shorts (i dont have pants yet, scard to buy and not fit) and they fit her so nicely. but they came close to not fitting her.

She's here! I'm suitably impressed with resin quality and posing so far (with just a few minutes of playing with her), and her face fits her character much better than her old sculpt. (Bonus, her wig now fits beautifully, it was meant for her.) I can't upload the good photos I took until later, but here's a quick and dirty cell phone photo:

Those are the creepiest eyes I have ever seen for a random pair, and I thought my yellow ones with brown pupils were disgusting. They really detract from her faceup. What color are you looking to replace them with?

 

im looking for a hazel. either with a burst of blue and green or with a black ring around the iris. its hard to describe.

Thanks, though I'll admit, I just took most of my Fall decorations and threw them on the table, arranged them to look nice, and added in all the cute little Target dollar spot treat baskets. It was fun to set up, though, and turned out pretty cute. And yes, I'll be doing her faceup, and a body blush as well, hopefully before too terribly long.

Anyone who also has the large bust body, is there a little lip of resin on the inside of your neck holes? There's one on mine and it's not on Remy's and so Lydia's head is flopping around uncontrollably!

 

I haven't looked, but I know Winry's head was snapping around weirdly until I realized I'd twisted the elastic when unwrapping her... I'll have to check for the lip to see if she has that or not.

Erm no... sounds like they didn't remove the dock properly when she was removed from the casting... an exacto and some super-duper fine sand paper might do the trick Do you have pics?!?
