Spiritdoll 1/4 Smart Mini discussion Part 1

I'm 149% certain I will grab a Snowdrop, or at least a smart body. It's just soo gorgeous (and Snowdrop is adorable). I've been wishing for Spiritdoll to release a mature MSD size, so I'm super excited that they did~❤

Now I just hope they release a bunch of equally awesome Smart boys with a gorgeous body around 47 to 50cm tall (or something like that.)

 

Oh they did? I must have skimmed over that part when I read the announcement ( ~* A*)~
I can't wait then~♪

 

I'm very anxious to see the boys. It would be so great to have a lovely mature little man that doesn't look like a little kid.

 

I'm not much of a mature mini but I really like Laurel. I would love to order her, the little teeth are very interesting.

I can't wait to see what the boys will look like! I maybe tempted to get one. Wonder if the boys will have option man bits like the Elegance and Proud line have?

 

I'm completely enchanted by Laurel and her little teeth! And absolutely interested in any boys Spiritdoll might bring out too... I'm supposed to be on a doll diet at the moment, but this Smart line is SO going on my list for when the diet is over :P. I adore my Spiritdoll Proud girl body (solid! excellent poser! elegant! lovely!) and have actually been waiting for Spirit MSDs for a while...

I'm probably alone in hoping any boys would NOT have those silly magnetic boy bits. I find it upsetting to think my boy characters' parts may fall off. Honestly! They come off when you remove their trousers! The poor boy would be mortified. I suppose if the boys do come with those magnets I'll be forced to glue them on :/.

 

EEK! I had no idea the boy bits fall off that easy, I only have the Elegance girl body for my Edria head and I truly love it, so I know these will be a hit too. Thanks for letting me know about the boy bodies.

 

The new line is very interesting, I just ordered Liana ^-^!

 

Snowdrop went to the top of my daughter's wishlist the second she saw her. I absolutely adore Liana--- she's got such a beautiful face, she makes me wish I collected MSDs.

 

Urgh, my goal was to NOT fall in love with more than one doll. Then I had to go ahead and see Snowdrop. -_-

 

I'm also totally absorbed by Snowdrop and the new body looks really interesting!!! I hope they release the boys and maybe... and event... for Christmas so I can order ^^

 

ellipses I can't get over how beautiful their hands are! For some reason, pretty hands are a big selling point for me...haha

A Christmas event would be awesome! I feel like they'd be silly not to do one since it generates a lot of income for other companies too.

 

Oh my gosh Snowdrop is so gorgeous. Her mouth, and those haaaaands. ;w; Ugh, I wish I hadn't come into this thread.

 

Razzy I KNOWWWW RIGHT?! I feel like I'll have more sets of hands than dolls. Like when I figure out which other brands will work with the doll I'll be purchasing, I'll just go on some massive hand-hunting-quest. That'd be a tough adventure though...figuring out which hands work with which bodies. >_<

 

That's why MNFs are great. So many hands. Why can't more companies do that?

 

@ Miyukisetu I know right!! I love the hands and the nails look incredibly detailed!! I've been checking back once a day, just to see if they plan an event ^^ Maybe they'll release the smart boy line at the same time as promised/dangled before us in a cruel fashion XD

Does anyone have experience with Spiritdoll bodies? Are they typically good posers and well constructed? I'm seriously pining over this girl.

 

Where are those boys??!! Their "few days" has become over a month. Doll companies make me crazy.

 

Hahaha they seem to work on a totally different time table than we do. "Next Week" usually means "A month from now", etc. :P

 

Razzy, I only have a Spiritdoll Proud girl and I LOVE how she poses. I am also very fond of how she feels - nice, solid, well-constructed. I'm definitely a fan!

Re: the boys coming soon... Really? Really? Because I am SO waiting for their boy MSDs... No, scratch that, I'm supposed to be on a diet. Meanwhile, I have put Laurel on my wishlist. For, you know, that point in the future where I will be allowed to get more dolls :p.

linakauno, I am one of the people waiting for LLT Ludwig. He is always getting released "at the end of the year". It's just not clear which year .

 

I almost forgot about Ludwig. She changed the sculpt a bit and then he didn't appear to be so snarky and evil, so naturally, I lost interest a little. I'm not buying any new dolls at the moment either, but a 1/4 man could possibly tempt me, if they ever appear. You know... I wouldn't be so annoyed if they hadn't said that it would be a "few days". Did they all go on vacation at the same time? Get abducted by aliens? One wonders.

 

Oooh!!! Ludwig, I also forgot.... though I think I would also be more tempted by an MSD size one... I hope they continue as they have been and make their faces a little more mature ^^ I'd also like to see some muscle definition because their other boys are awesome

 

I've placed an order for Snowdrop a couple of days ago and if I'm lucky she'll be here for christmas x3 ... I can't wait, really. I'm actually studying abroad in Tokyo right now and I already went a bit crazy clothing shopping for her. |D I'm also definitely looking forward to their MSD boys, as I'm an MSD collector and I really like Spiritdoll's style. Let's hope they won't keep us waiting much longer.

Fantastic news!! Spiritdoll has confirmed that there will be a Christmas event this year and that Yes! the boys will be released at the same time >_< so excited!!! Now all we have to do is wait and hand on

 

oh bummer :/ ... should have waited for the christmas event with my order TwT ... and here's to hoping I won't like any of the boys as much as I like Snowdrop, otherwise I'll be in serious trouble lol.

And of course I'll post pictures as soon as my Snowdrop arrives x3.

Ooh, I really like Primrose. I'm surprised by this release, and kinda upset, since I can't really afford any of them right now.

Oh, does anyone think that the torso joint serves a significant purpose with these dolls? I'd like to get a cute bathing suit for an anime girl, but only on a non jointed torso.

 

The boys have arrived! I really like Pyrus and Candlenut (what a name, LOL.) The body looks nice... 48cm is quite tall! I think Pyrus will be my next MSD boy...

 

I noticed that the makeup for the anime girls is cheaper than the others, why is that?

 

Now wait a second... Those are the same heads as the girls', but on boy bodies, aren't they? I mean, I squeed over Candlenut( indeed, what a name!) the second I saw him, but I squeed the same way over Laurel. Because he IS Laurel, no? XD

Hm. Wondering now if I should give Gwalchmei a body update. It wouldn't be bad if he were a little bit taller than he is now... And this is a nice body.

 

I had hoped for more mature heads for these guys. *sigh* Why are there so many mature small girls and hardly any mature small men?

 

I noticed the same thing about the heads being the same as the girls...maybe it's just me but isn't that kinda lazy? :/ I was hoping to see some really nice looking male sculpts. >_<

It's not like they don't know how...they've made some lovely men. They just needed to make some that are smaller.

 

Just a guess, but I bet it's because it's a lot simpler.

I didn't even realize they were all the same sculpts! That does seem a bit lazy... but they make cute boys.

 

I had no idea they made the girls into boy heads with the makeup and bodies either. I still would love to get one, I really love my Elegance girl and I know this smaller size will be just as good too.

What is the average waiting time for a doll from this company? Also I was so happy to see they offer tan skin . Anyone who has a tan doll, how's the resin?

a11i Oh yea it does pose really nicely! The hands are so beautiful. ;_; Is it totally dumb of me to have been turned off of sculpts because of boring/fat/short hands and fingers? XD

I'm really curious to see how the wait time is from them as well.

 

I really love how the body poses from looking at those pictures, will have to order one next year for sure!

 

I also want Pyrus.. I think his doll would fit a character better than the doll I had planned on and already bought clothes for.. ._. They're both MSDs.. Hoping for the best lol.

 

I think I'm going to send up getting Snowdrop within the next few months...after seeing the pictures/posing of the body and just staring at her face for so long...hahaha

That's a burden we all must carry at one point or another in this hobby. XD

I've ordered a Snowdrop (white skin, jointed torso + FU) about four weeks ago. Upon asking how long the estimated wait time would be, they just told me it would take 4-5 more weeks until my order was ready to ship.
so in total my wait time should be about 2 months.


(i. am. so. excited! just can't wait for her to finally arrive >w<!!!)

I know, right? The lack of owner pictures is driving me slightly insane! but then, i guess the wait might become even harder if i could spend my time admiring everyone else's snowdrops, haha!
i am completely in love with this sculpt, seriously. i'm even considering getting another snowdrop/pyrus head, because i love the boy version just as much! (tho the male msd body is a bit to big for my tastes xD i'm probably going to try to make a hybrid)

 

I'm excited for you. I want to see some pics! I love the body shape so I definitely have Snowdrop on my wishlist.

 

Tsugaru Same!! I always find sculpts that I really like and go back and forth with them trying to decide which one I want...but this one has been at the top of the list since I first saw her. I was almost going to settle on another company just because of a really good Christmas Event that was going on...but my husband talked me out of it and into getting Snowdrop. XD So I'll probably be purchasing her next month!

Do you already have an idea of how you'd like her to look? Hair/eye-wise?

i think you won't regret opting for Snowdrop. she has just such a pretty face!

well, since i'm currently living in tokyo (for one semester only), my possibilities are a little limited, since all my dolly stuff is safely stored away at home. but while my snowdrop's character is already pretty fixed, her style leaves room for variation and I basically just want to see what works on her once I get her here ^^. I've asked spirit doll for either light blue or light brown eyes and I'm planning on a mori style-ish outfit for her... as for the wig: maybe blonde? hazel? i really don't know, i'll just have to take her to one of the stores selling bjd stuffs here and figure out what works :3!
