Spiritdoll 1/2 girls and boys Discussion

May 26, 2013

    1. I have a couple of Blythe wigs for mine.

    2. Great, thank you!

    3. Yeah, I wasn't so concerned with the measurement, I've never seen a blythe doll in person before and didn't know if their wigs were made the same and/or suitable for the head shape. Was mostly just looking for confirmation that this was an option rather than sizing. Thank you though.

    4. I got a couple of 10-11 wigs from monique. Sadly they didn't fit. Monique 11-12 and Leeke 11" wigs fit just fine.

    5. Has anyone else been having trouble with spiritdolls website lately? Since the new year, about half the time it redirects me to some completely random stuff. And for the past few days I haven't been able to access it at all-it goes to some chinese tabloid news site...:sigh

    6. Yes, I have had the same problem and so have others on the MSD thread. One person has emailed them.

    7. The Spiritdoll site is up again!

    8. I just checked the site and suddenly my Brume has shipped ! ! :D

    9. Yeah! Brume is one of my favorites! Someday I'll get him. I hope you will show him off when he arrives!

    10. Yay @Cydril! Congrats on Brume!

    11. Hello everyone,
We're Aquatalis and we are so happy to back to BJDs world after a while.
We have been collecting dolls for 5 years, mostly fashion dolls but when we know about Spirit Dolce doll line, it blows our mind away! And we decided to get one of them, Nymphaea is the first one that we ordered and can't wait to have her here, may be 2 months later...
And thank you so much for all information that you guys posted here, they help us a lot to prepare for our girl before she's home.

We love these 2 wigs, Could you please tell us where to get them?
      Thank you

    12. Of course! The left one is Leeke's LB-021 in goldenrod. The right one is a Blythe wig off of ebay.

      • x 1
    13. Thank you so much dear, LB-201 is really beautiful! We just ordered that style but in choco color for our girl :)
And we just recognized that your new girl is Nymphaea too! wonderful <3
One more question is about the stand... we noticed that you said custom made, is it your work? We can see how steady they are. so great!

    14. Awesome! I have the wig in Choco brown as well!

The stands were not made by me, they were made by FroggyDuds on Etsy.

    15. Oh thank you dear <3
OH gosh, really can't wait to have her in our hands. <3

    16. Brume has arrived :D
I was only able to snap a quick photo before work but here he is! Its hard to be prepared for how large thay are isnt it??

    17. @Cydril he is lovely! Congrats!

    18. He is lovely! They are big! I have two girls and they are even a bit shorter!

    19. He fits 12month clothes ok. I think we can make some stuff work with only small alterations :)

    20. Congrats!! Big supprise that he's so HUGE! Gorgeous.
Brume is in our wishlist too <3. Is he white skin dear?

      • x 1
    21. @QuanaP , thank you! Yes he is white skin :)

Also, I noticed today while hot glue sueding, he has the spiritdolls logo embedded in his hip joint (Like a red resin cross). Pretty cool!

    22. All their dolls have the logo. It's awesome!

      • x 1
    23. Really cool! Sueding must be a little harder because they are big, right? How is his posing without sueding dear? Is it nesesary to do that? <3

    24. @QuanaP , he was sent strung very loosely and I haven't tried to fix that yet, but he poses ok. He can sit and stand. Now that he is sueded he can hold his arms up. I wont try any more adventurous poses until I tighten the stringing.

    25. They are so gorgeous! I hope he does a male line for them too :D

    26. My boys got back with their faceups! I was losing the light, so I only have a photo of Brume. They look so real :love

    27. @Cydril He's so cute! That's a gorgeous face up.

Also, anyone know how well Lusion clothing fits on the Dolce sized dolls? They're measurements are similar, but I'm not sure.

    28. I haven't tried Lusion clothes on Alice, but here is a comparison photo:

    29. Thanks! The waists look different, biut their measurements match in that regard, ahhh. Loose clothes might fit, hmmm.

Has anyone bought the clothes Spiritdoll makes for the Dolce line? I think the kimonos are cute, but can't decide whether red or black would be better... and then there's Gardenia's super cute dress! I think I'll be saving up for Nymphaea.

    30. Oooh, Nymphaea is a great choice, she's so beautiful! But, I'm kinda biased.

    31. I think you may be, haha! I'd love to see more pictures of your girl. I just relooked up your box opening. Has she gotten a face-up yet? C:

    32. Yes, she and my Fragrans both have faces now. I'll post pictures soon.

    33. I'm excited to see that! Fragrans was a contender, but I decided to go for Nymphaea.

    34. Fragrans is my favorite...

    35. I really like her sly look and smile! Her promo pictures were cute, too.

    36. Oh this thread is quiet! Bumping it up with a wig recommendation. If anyone is looking for beautiful fantasy or regular colors for their dogs, I highly recommend size 11 from Beautifully Custom. They are amazing quality.

    37. Love seeing the new Dolce line dolls.

I work for a large toy store chain and discovered that Koala Baby Mix 'n Match leggings in 3-6mo size work (as capri length). You need to open up the waist and take a pinch out of the elastic.

I hope to post pics as soon as the rain stops here.

    38. @hannaliten , Those wigs are gorgeous! :D

@Lyrajean , thanks for the tip ^^ I cant wait to see some photos!

I think its hilarious that my most expensive doll is the easiest and cheapest to dress. This whole outfit literally cost $4 at the thrift store.

    39. Illya got a DollMore Lusion outfit that fits really well ^^ The only difference it that the shorts are a bit shorter on him than on the Lusion. Hopefully DM will come out with some more boy outfits :D

    41. I love her face-up and the dress is so pretty!

    42. She is beautiful! Real life is limiting my doll time, but I do need to spend some time with my girls.

    43. @QuanaP She is so pretty, and her dress is lovely.

    44. Aww Thank you so much, <3 She's our most favourite girl

Oh thank you, as far as we know, you have so many dolls from various lines, can't imagine how you can spend your time to each of them LOL. just kidding, we understand the reason why you don't have much time with dolls, neither do us, we have a store to run, so whenever we get tired, dolls will be there to give us more strength to keep working. This is our story of life, LOL

Aw thank you, She only has 2 dresses until now, hopefully we can make more for her in future <3

    45. Guilty as charged! I seem to have more time to shop than I do to play!

    46. Anybody know where you can find guns and knives that fit a 70cm doll? I keep finding ones for 12" GI Joes.

    47. There are 1/3 scale items out there. What style or period are you looking for?

    48. Is 1/3 scale the right one? I really don't know how big they are. It's listed as a 70cm doll, but is actually 71.5cm. I'm looking for basic modern day firearms and knives. (Handguns, shotguns, maybe an Uzi or assault rifle, combat knife) I saw some .45 handguns, but they were for 60cm dolls or they have a lot of medieval stuff.

    49. 71.5 would be someone about 7 feet tall in 1/3 scale which is not unreasonable. Sadol had a sniper rifle but it it sold out. They still have hand guns. You can search ebay for "1/3 scale" gun. You do need the quotes around the 1/3 scale or you will getting everything with a 1 or 3!

    50. For knives you could try looking for decorative letter openers. They often make those to look like swords :)

Cool, thank you! So anything 1/3 scale will fit a 71.5cm doll? Does that apply for clothing and shoes too? I'm afraid to order anything that didn't come with the doll for fear it won't fit right.

That might work. I'm still figuring out who sells what, and what sizes things are. I'm terrible at math and am unfamiliar with the metric system.

    52. Accessories like guns and swords should be fine but clothes and shoes aren't so easy. Just as clothes for a 6 foot man will be too small for a 7 foot man, a 71cm doll will need larger clothes. Alice's Collections offers a variety of sizes and provides measurements for comparison to your doll.

    53. I had originally gone to her first for the doll. She was very polite and helpful, but didn't carry the doll I was looking for. I felt bad that I didn't give her my business and probably should get some clothes from her. She has real cool gothic and metalhead clothes.

    54. WORD OF ADVICE
for clothing and shoes never use 'scale' or height to chose clothing ... as with humans you can have 10 with the same height and they will wear 7 different sizes.... go only by body measurements period.. There are way to many size variations within the general scale ranges... and that's what they are.. "general" and 'ranges' an iple 1/3 and a ring doll 1/3 are not the same at all a ring doll and soul doll 1/3 are drastically different... so don't use general measurements... it's just going to waste your money ... take the time to do research.. and one thing that helps immensely is asking owners of the same size doll where they shop...

    55. So every doll has to be custom measured? I can get the measurements for the body, but I don't know anyone personally who owns a Spirit "proud male" doll. I think that's why the moderators dropped me here. I posted this question in the wrong area originally.

    56. Spiritdoll does have measurements on their doll listings. I think Lady Tiki was saying that 70cm dolls from another company could be thinner or fatter.
