Spirit Doll 66cm Girls!

I am terrible! XD I was initially only looking for FACOdoll resin and scale matching, but then I stumbled upon all these great photos of POPOdoll, SpiritDoll, Illusion Spirit, etc. And I thought, hey!? I'll bet others would love to see owner pics too.

 

So I'm hoping to grab a Moonless before they all go, and I've got an IH Jessica on the way. Can the Spirit girl's and EID ladies share any clothes? That'd make my life super simple. Cheaper too!

 

I should be able to answer that in a few months when my Asa comes home! But, looking at my Spiritdoll hybrid versus my I-Doll (who is a little less curvy than Iple EIDs...I would say some clothing could be shared if there is stretch in it (e.g. dresses and some tops). But things like pants and tall boots are a definite no. I got a pair of thigh high boots meant for my I-Doll and they can't zip up her thigh, but they can with my Spiritdoll hybrid without any difficulty whatsoever.

Once I hot glue sueded the joints--the body posed like a dream. They are very well sculpted, and have the most beautiful hands I've yet to see on a female BJD. I even like them more then my Limhwa half-elf.

I do plan on getting a tan Jade to be Shade's living sister.

Presently Shade is wearing a Dollmore Model girl's shoes on her healed feet. They fit really well.

Also, her dress was a commissioned piece. The measurements are so similar to a SOOM Super Gem--that's want was used as a model to make the dress.

Oh, and I love the elbow joint--very similar to my Unoa. I really love the Spirit Doll gals in case you couldn't tell already.

 

Thanks! I figured that there would be some crossover, but I suspect I will have to suck it up and learn to sew for my curvy ladies. xD

Yeah! XD Crossover is nice when it's there. SpritDoll girls are on the thin side, but have a figure. It's just a different body type from the Iple EIDs.

So for those with Spiritdoll girls, what shoe size do they wear?

I see that Arianne02 mentioned that they fit well on Dollmore Model size, but what about SD-sized shoes?

 

Hmmm. I've found that mine fits shoes meant for Elfdolls (or dolls with similar sized feet around 7.5cm) well. I was hoping she would fit the Model-F sized Dale Rae shoes, but she can't. They're way too big.

 

I have regular skin color jade but i want Tan jade (badly)... i use SD size shoes but i like dollmore shoes best.

 

Does anybody know if the tan resin colour is similar or sligthly different from batch to batch?
I want to order a spiritdoll girl in the next month and I am thinking about buying her 2nd hand and a large size bust torso new from Spiritdoll but I am afraid, that the resincolour won`t match ^^.

 

The tan colour did vary from the first to the second batch, so I think you'd be better off ordering the whole doll at once to get a completely colour match, or get her second hand and live with the medium bust.

Arianne02 - did you remove some of the hue in that picture? Or is she gray skinned? It's hard to tell her actual coloring from these photos and I would love to know. Thanks!

Hello everyone ! I might be getting myself a Daffodil for Christmas !

Do you think Spirit Doll will do a Christmas/Winter event ?

I'm still hesitating between Daffodil and a doll from another company (I'll probably get both someday, but not this year !)... The other company's Christmas event is very interesting (the kind of deal you don't want to miss...), and because of this, I can't decide !

Anyway, I will surely get a Daffodil sooner or later. I want her in white skin, with the red wig she is wearing in the pictures on the website. I love this wig !

Does anyone have one of the girls in white skin with the default face up ? I'm wondering if they look like the pictures.

hello! May i ask about their clothing? because im so confuse choosing a outfit for my Jade....she's 66 cm right? which size fit for her?

 

Spiritdoll Proud girls fit Super Gem sized clothes with no problems, their bust/waist/hip measurements are almost exactly the same. Dollmore Model Doll clothes also mostly fit, their pants are too long though.

 

I will try ddy clothing, because my girl has the large chest part =D
And I sew some clothing for her

 

Unfortunately, I don't like the looks of the new body at all ... & Um, no mobility joints anymore? Whhhhhhy??

 

I do like the overall look of the new body (it now resembles the elegance body which is my favorite doll body in the size range hurr) though also I wish they hadn't taken out that joint ;_; They took it out of the elegance girl too for some reason >_< bawwww! Why do the boys get to keep the extra leg joint and not the girls no fair /complaincomplain I just hope they won't do any more major changes like this before I can afford my elegance girls (unless it's to add that joint back in lolol)... which sadly won't be for a long time to come. orz.

I rather like the looks of that new Proud girl body. Although I wish it still had the various bust sizes and the mobility joint. With some dolls I really don't like the mobility joint. But Spiritdoll's was so well engineered that I really like their mobility joint.

What I really wish is that they'd bring back the v. 1 male body. I love that body. Why are so many new bodies, especially male, so much beefier now? Just wondering.

What EID Iplehouse clothes? Are they too hippy for her the Proud girl?

 

Way too big. Proud girls are closer to SID sizes than EID.

Is the body 66 cm with or without the head?

Did anyone see the new Proud girl, Atropa? I only stumbled upon her today and am really captivated by her face. It's a problem though as I am getting very close to having too many dolls!

 

Reviving this thread! I'm waiting for my proud girl and want to learn more about this mobility joint issue mentioned above. As she'll be my first doll I probably won't miss what I don't know about... but I am too curious now. What is the mobility joint you talk about that they took away? And is it in the current dolls since that was a very old comment?

 

Hi! I think they're talking about the knee joint. I haven't been following Spirit Doll long enough to know for sure if that's what they changed in 2011, but now they sell version 1 and version 2 bodies. If you compare them, version 1 has both an ankle joint and a hip joint. I'm pretty sure this is what they changed in 2011 (and the wayback machine is backing me up).

I think I see what you mean. On the high-heel legs the ankle is fixed on the V2 body. But there is rotation on the flat foot at least. I see the rotation area on the upper thigh too. That would have been nice to maintain on the V2 body.

The girl I ordered is Proud, Windflower. Your girl is very beautiful!! How tall is she?

 

Windflower is a sweet sculpt. It'll be nice to see another one around... Not that I'm very good about posting pictures of my own, mind. (Ivory and my camera aren't on speaking terms. I swear every picture I've tried to take of her has been a blurry mess. o_0)

I just had a thought! Since I only recently ordered my doll I might be able to change from ordering V2 body to V1. Should I try? Is V1 better all around? Can someone let me know their thoughts?? Thank you!!

I've seen both bodies and prefer the v.1 because it's more slender than the v.2 body. The v.2 body has a thicker waist and reminds me a little more of an SID body. And since I don't have any SID bodies nor clothes that fit that body, I like the Spiritdoll v.1 body best. Also, I really like to dress up on my dolls in lots of clothes, often with many layers and I like how it drapes better on a more slender body.

 

I went with the v2 for both of my Spirit girls (I have an Olea and a Windflower-), and it does fit Iple's SID/EID clothes pretty well if you like their outfits.

 

Thank you both for the good advice! I have asked if they can change my order to V1 body, however if they say it's too late, I will be happy knowing I have good clothing options for her V2 body! This is super helpful!! Where do you shop for your favorite SID/EID clothes? Does your Wildflower have a small, medium or large bust?

 

Do you happen to have pics of Olea and Windflower you can share? Those are the two I've been looking at, but I haven't seen any owner pictures yet.

 

I've posted a fair number of pics of my Olea around the site, including on page 20 of this thread. She's the only one I've ever seen in tan, and I scoured the Internet (inc. Weibo) in three langauges before buying her ^^; I second the request for more pics

 

I don't have any pictures of the two together yet... My Olea has the medium bust, my Windflower has the small... and most of their SID-sized outfits have come from Iple's site.

 

I haven't found any owner pictures of Windflower anywhere. At most I found a Youtube unboxing video. She's so pretty! Has anyone found out in the promo photos if the skin is normal or white?

 

Promo photos of Windflower are actually way whiter than white. I ordered white and was disappointed when the doll I received was very creamy instead. Company apologized but said that was their lighting and I did indeed receive the correct doll. Also my doll is NOT 66cm. In flat feet she's closer to 61cm and in heel feet closer to 63-64cm. I complained about this too but the company basically refused to acknowledge my problem, insisting their dolls are 66cm.
Since then I've talked to one other person with a recent Windflower and hers is the same height as mine. Also talked to someone here on DoA who has a Windflower from ~10 years ago and hers IS 66cm. So something changed between then and now and the company isn't acknowledging it.

She's still a GORGEOUS doll but she's not as advertised. So make sure your expectations are realistic before you order. I'll end up rehoming mine as she doesn't fit the character I built around her company photos and stats!

I ordered the standard company faceup so I thought it would look pretty close to the promos. Maybe it looks more like it if you bleach the skin with a photo editing program??

 

I imagined her lips would be more purple-y than that. Thanks for the heads up, btw!

 

My understanding is company face-ups often have some differences vs the promo photos. If you order her you could probably request the makeup specifically have lavender/purple tones in the lipstick.

 

Out of curiousity, I just measured my Olea and she's about 63 cm with flat feet, on the ver. 1 body. It's disappointing that they wouldn't even acknowledge that.

 

Ooh! I do know they are using heeled feet for the 66cm measurement. Maybe V1 body is 66cm in heeled feet and v2 is shorter... I do not know why on earth they would not acknowledge that my doll is not the height advertised, though!

 

I've never actually measured either of my girls... My Olea is a few years older than my Windflower, but they seem to be exactly the same height just standing here in the cabinet. If it isn't raining (or as cold as the dickens-) I may have to try for pictures again tomorrow.

And yes... Spirit's face-ups seem to vary a fair bit from the site images. My Olea's surprised me by having teal involved. o_0

 

Not to necron a dead thread but how have people ordered their girls aside from Legenddoll? I would love to try and get a Thalia soon...
