Does anyone of you have tricks or tips, how to make the new zenith girl body more poseable? I really love my zenith girl and the body looks so gorgeous, but it's a nightmare for posing. My girl can't sit or stand. She always flips backwards because her back is so hollow and ther chest-joint is nearly unmovable. Plus her boobs are sooooo heavy. There once was this user Dayme having same issues, but I'm looking for ways to optimize it. I already hot glue-sueded the inside of the chest joint, it makes a little difference, but not enough /threads/souldoll-zenith-girls-discussion.407383/page-29 This link goes to Dayme's perfect description of what I'm struggling with (pictures are in hidden in spoiler-link, post #567) - Thank you Dayme
@Pinkes Pony I sueded her from head to toe with real pliver, and I used a not too thin variety. It made such a difference, she is really manageable now. I also reduced her enormous boobage by one cm, because it looked a. very unnaturally spherical and b. it looked very awkward the way she would always bend over backwards and point her chest at the sky. I probably should have reduced it more, but it's better now, not so chest-heavy anymore^^
Bless the DOA Wiki! I could find the old Zenith measurements. I've seen that the heel feet will fit into Dollmore boots. Does anyone know if that's only the larger boots/heels, or can I get the ~8cm ones safely? I am not sure if the feet are the same for the old and new bodies, so in this case I'll specify I need an answer for the old Zenith girl.
Old and new feet are the same size. As for the boots, I don't know how consistent Dollmore is with their shoe sizes. All I know for certain is that my girls fit into this model. But I feel like I had to maybe sand the feet a tiny bit for a better fit and if the boot is completely closed on the top (unlike these heels), it's very possible that it's a suuuper tight fit. So, there are no 100% guarantees that all or even most dollmore boots will fit, unfortunately.
@Yenna Thanks a lot for the info! It seems like those shoes are on the smaller side, 7.5cm¸ so I imagine that boots won't fit as tight since they're 8cm. I imagine the measurement is for the inner length. That's great news. I love Dollmore clothes so I'm looking forward to getting her some nice things. She's a Paratiiisi! I've loved that sculpt for a long time and I'm very happy I'm finally taking her home. I've been reading around and heard good things about the old Zenith body as well. I just realized you're the owner of Sigrun! She's a wonderful Paratiisi. Thank you for the detailed breakdown of the Zenith bodies on your blog, it was so helpful when I researched.
@lutke You're welcome. Though, in my experiences the measurements companies give are often the outside measures, unless it explicitly says it's the inner measurement, so be careful with that too. And do let me know how they fit if you get them. I could definitely use more shoe options for my girls (they're very limited in style, so for example, I never bought Yami any shoes). And congrats on your Paratiisi. :3 I miss the older style of souldoll girls they used to make. And glad my ramblings were of use.
@Yenna I was thinking this way because the measurement for the feet is listed as 8cm, but if 7.5cm shoes fit, the Dollmore measurement must refer to the usable length (accounting for heel feet being functionally a bit shorter). I'll probably get the boots and report back at a later time. Paratiisi is my favorite along with Swinte and Shiva! Your mod on Shiva came out so well I thought for a long time that they made a a 6-armed version
I didn't even know this existed hi y'all I have a Liv Elegance Dress Ver. head out getting her face done, I'm putting her on the new Asleep Eidolon 1/3rd body bc I realized her neck hole was rather small for the girls I normally collect and needed a smaller neck.
My Paratiiisi is here! She's so gorgeous and moody I only had time to try a couple wigs on her but 8-9 run large so I'll have to order one. The faceup is by Pearls of Danube and looks really amazing. She needs a restring but she can still stand easily and the elbows are very nice and make her arms fall into natural dainty poses without effort. And she's pleasantly heavy. I can't wait to give her new strings and try some posing as soon as I get back home.
Adding to this: does anyone have tricks for the old Zenith elbows? I'm getting the jist of them and I really like how mobile they are and how clean they look. I really like that they're designed to have a carrying angle at rest instead of trying to default to completely straight. I've never seen this on any other doll despite it being anatomically "correct" and it gives the body a more feminine posture. But I wonder if I'm missing out on something, like what the little cuts on the sides of the string channels are for? EDIT: I later discovered what those are for: apparently they are made to catch into the arm pieces, and if you move them right, you can make so that the channels are hidden even when the arms are extended. Very nice joint design. With a restring she can stand on one foot! The old Zenith is a pretty great posing body.
Finally Leona has her wig! Can't wait to have her outfit which is in the works. But she looks complete now
Gorgeous girl, @lutke !! Congrats on her! I do not have a Zenith girl, although Swinte tempted me for a few years! I do have several pairs of Zenith girl hands though, on my other dolls. The most beautifully sculpted and detailed hands I've ever found for BJDs, bar none. So expressive! Looking forward to more photos of your Paratiisi She's stunning in her white wig with those dark and brooding eyes
@tanjalalie Thanks! Zenith hands are gorgeous. I love the long slender fingers. And the sculpting on the old Zenith's lower torso is just divine. I'll need another outfit that shows her midriff beacuse it's an injustice to cover that part
Just a curiosity: does anyone know if the old Zenith body ever had extra hands available? I haven't seen a listing for Zenith dolls on the old body which had extra sets of hands; only heel feet. I wanted to put up a WTB for old Zenith extra parts in Cream White, but these might not exist at all, so I'd have to try getting the hands for the new Zenith in New White and try to color match.
@lutke , I have no idea about extra hands for the old Zenith body, but I found the new Zenith hands very easy to blush to match even completely different doll companies' resins, especially with good quality pastels that give a lot of coverage, like the PanPastel Artist Pastels. also, with careful thin layerings of Mr. Superclear in between blush layers, the Zenith hands I have on some girls still have not worn or chipped- and it's been oh, 10 years!
@tanjalalie thanks a lot for the info! The plan is to give Leona full body blushing when I get the hands so I don't mind having to match
The newer hands (1, 2, 3, and Aina hand) are compatible with the old general body. I bought tons of spares before the big discontinuation in '17- '18. Also Souldoll just posted the new S.Zenith body on ig. It's got a smaller chest than the last body and smaller feet! They also posted a comparison pic of the last Zen body next to this new S.Zen body.
@Suindo Ohh! Thank you for the heads up! The body looks wonderful, and a lot like a mix of the old and new Zenith. I'm super interested in this. I love the company's sculpting style and the only thing stopping me was that I wasn't too much of a fan of the new Zenith body. This is great
Re: Clover, it's good to see some life from Souldoll! I was worried they wouldn't be able to recover from their recent troubles.
I was excited to read about a new zenith girl body, and checked it out, but luckily it wasn't my style. I need a new doll like a hole in the head right now, so, whew!
Don't think they did sell any separately back then i do have a Siva and think Siva came with different hands, linger nails and different pose) but when I ordered extra hands at the time of ordering (intending to boil and adjust for different poses) they sent the standard hands. Will check and take pictures later if you are interested
I really like the newest body - especially that they returned to old type torso (so elegant), kept the new legs and I think the arms are more similar to the kid's body, which I think have more natural directions of the elbows and look better when bent. Also smaller feet! I'm saving money right now, so will probably look into buying the body for my spare heads later when I'm able to. I hope though meanwhile Souldoll will allow us to buy the previous zenith hands which are my favourite hands type from any company ever... and we need heel feet!
