Souldoll Zenith Girls Discussion

Nov 3, 2010

    1. I got a similar answer Dayme but they have finished Stella and are just making the gift clothes so it's too late. Good that I know she is nearly ready but a shame as they must have had this peice in development when we ordered and if I'd have known I would have waited. I guess I'm getting what I ordered though so feel I can't complain really

    2. @Dolleve, well I don't know about you but I'd complain anyway. They haven't pictured the old version of the joint anywhere on the site (=they don't move it in the photos) so customers don't know what they're getting. Personally, I was shocked to see how the joint really was when I got it and beyond disappointed in the engineering that used to be top-notch from them. I complained to them several times about it because I didn't think the body was worth what I paid for it. They should've let their customers know that they were fixing the joint. When I complained about it last time some months ago it didn't seem like they'd get to that joint for a long while because they were working on the Tera Zeniths, and now they suddenly released the new version without a warning.

    3. Thanks Yenna, I have thought about it and yes agree with what your saying, so I have responded to their message highlighting that it didn't say anywhere on their website that they were changing the part because I would have waited to order Stella and would not have ordered her at that time. It is also disappointing to me that people who ordered at the exact same time but paid by layaway will get the new part but I feel I am ending up losing out for having paid in full when they must have surely known all along that this part was in development.

She is my first BJD and this was a lot of money for me to spend, and for a special occasion, and I really think that it is only fair for the new part to be included in the circumstances as it has been changed without warning and in a way I feel like having an old part devalues a doll (not in terms of her ever being sold but in the terms of her craftsmanship) which has not even left them yet.

I'm such a stressy person about things being 'just so' and right, this hobby is gonna be difficult for me!...

    4. @Dolleve Sorry to hear that they can't offer the upgraded part to your order... But I don't think that not having the upgraded chest joint "devalues" a doll in any way :/ There are many people who have purchased this Zenith body over the years and it's not like their dolls are any less well-made than the ones with upgraded chest joint ^^; The old jointing is not something to be considered as a fault in any way (even if it looks ugly in some people's eyes), it's simply the way Souldoll originally wanted to sculpt it. You could make any joint look stupid and unnatural if you twist it into weird poses, even if it was sculpted well.

You don't have the doll in hand yet and especially since it's going to be your first doll, you can't know for sure how you feel about the joint, whichever version it is :) You might not even like the upgraded version and that's how this hobby works - people like and dislike different things. Only by seeing and handling a specific doll in person, you'll know if it's the right one for you. Then once you learn which things you like and which you don't, it's easier for you to recognize from the company photos what suits your taste!

My girl Lanarwen is happy with her body and thinks that she can pose just fine, even do some dance moves XD If I wouldn't have been so lazy, I would've taken that leather vest thing off for the second pose since it doesn't fold so nicely...

    5. @safir Thank you for your reply :) Yes, 'devalues' probably wasn't the right word to use and I think I struggled a bit to get across what I meant. I most certainly don't mean anything bad about the design of anyone elses dolls they have bought in the current design only the specific situation I am in right on the cusp getting a doll that's still with them but isn't the 'newest' version. After all the current version, from the website pics, is the doll I fell in love with. Reading what others had said about their disappointment with the current chest part in various threads has left me concerned though. I guess I am still in two minds about how I feel, wanting the 'newest' version possible given that she is still with them, and being happy with what I thought I was getting anyway! I guess because it is such a lot of money, and my first, it has me in a tizz!

Your girl is beautiful and an amazing poser! Which sculpt is she? I am sure I am worrying for nothing but I am such a worry wart. I really really appreciate your comment and taking the time to show me the picture, you have made me feel a lot better and I'm sure when she arrives either way I will love her to pieces as she has been so longed and wished for.

    6. I agree with what everyone has to say on the thread, but I feel I simply cannot accept the situation. The doll is still in production, I haven' even finished my layaway plan, and they are already planning on sending her to me with the old chest piece. That means when I ordered my doll, they were secretly working on bettering the chest piece and knew I would miss out. Some people on the Waiting Room thread have already commented saying they will be getting the new chest piece. Is that even okay for a company the size of Souldoll? I called them out for it on the Q&A and they didn't take me seriously. Now, I am about to drag them really hard, I hope they're ready.

    7. [QUOTE="That means when I ordered my doll, they were secretly working on bettering the chest piece and knew I would miss out. .[/QUOTE]

This is the bit that upsets me too @Dayme.

    8. Ok so the fight for the new chest piece continues; and I think we are all on the right path! If I am not mistaken, @Dolleve, you also messaged them about getting a replacement part for the chest piece? I saw your username on the Q&A today, and I was hoping that you were complaining about the chest piece as well so Souldoll sees that I'm not the only unhappy customer! ^^"

So I wrote a rant this morning that was really harsh, but didn't post it right way on the Q&A because I didn't want Souldoll to think I was that one angry customer, but rather that one sad customer. So this evening I rearranged my word choice and I think it was very effective.
      To which Souldoll replied with the classic 2 line answer;
      Hello?
We understand how you feel about it.
Regarding this issue, we will notice again next week after discuss internally.
      Thank you.

I'm thinking positive? Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like my point hit home this time. The only problem; I feel bad now... T_T

    9. Hi @Dayme yes I messaged them, but given what you have said above I am now even more disappointed in the company because I just got a reply saying 'sorry about it....we will try to give more advance notice of changes in future' whereas they have told you they will discuss and get back to you which sounds promising for you (I'm pleased for you :)) but that is just inconsistent responses and not treating customers equally or fairly. I feel like I'm totally being penalised for paying in full rather than by layaway. If they had said "if you pay by layaway you'll likely get a new improved version, if you pay in full sorry you'll get a part lots of people have actually complained to us about and that we are secretly about to do away with" I would have paid by layaway! Like you, my doll is still with them in their factory but yet now I wont get the most recent version.

On a technical level, how long would it take for them to just make these parts and switch them as requested do you think? I have no idea how much work it is. To me it seems so easily solvable.

    10. I don't think they should have a technical problem with casting a torso alone and replacing the one they've made for you, but they would end up with an extra torso themselves (unless they were able to put that on someone else's doll :'D). It shouldn't take that long either. If you really want the new piece, you should keep messaging them. I know I had to message them about 3 times because they finally realized that I was really upset with my chest piece. In the end they were really great and sold me an old double torso from their warehouse for $100 (the whole story is in my blog here). Their customer service is often a little stiff and you get a really general reply the first time you message them, so you just need to keep at it. Once they finally take you seriously, they're great and very helpful.

    11. A couple of questions for you fellow Zenith owners...

I've got a Zenith girl-wanted a Karin, got a Shiva-G, found the Karin head on the Marketplace. So now I have an extra Shiva-g head and since I like it, I want to hybridize it. Any one got suggestions for a body in terms of resin matching? I would rather it weren't 65 cm, though I'll take that. Since the heads are on the small size, I figure I can go down size-wise with the body and that would be my preference.

My second question is-has anyone replaced the original Zenith feet and if so, what with? Those 8 cm boats are impossible to find nice girly shoes for and I don't have a huge budget. I can make a decent pair of flats myself, but I'd like to have options. I've currently got a pair of WS Soom Supergem feet on my girl with socks on. She doesn't stand well with them, but then she doesn't stand particularly well with her own feet either. The socket fits just fine though.

    12. Hey @Isabeau, unfortunately I can't help you in terms of resin matching, but I've heard of someone using the Angell Studio 62cm heeled feet parts for their Zenith girl successfully. That was what I was planning to use in order to fit cute girly heels onto my incoming Zenith. The resin match was not very good from what I've read though, so best be ready to use socks and tights to cover that up! Anyone else know about swapping feet?

Also, tomorrow is my final layaway payment for my Zenith girl. I'm kind of nervous to see what Souldoll will say about the whole chest piece issue é_è I really don't want to have to argue with them any longer. The more I think about it, the more preposterous it sounds that they were really thinking of sending me the old chest piece -___- Like really Souldoll? That's just not treating customers fairly. Anyway I will update on the situation as soon as I get a reply from them, which should be soon enough.

By the way, any news on your part, @Dolleve?

    13. I use Dollmore Model (female) shoes on my Zenith feet. Dollmore Model heels work too on her heel feet. If that helps....

    14. Thanks, AnitaS! Checked the site out, some of those look doable.

    15. Hi @Dayme yes I had to message a couple of times but they got back to me and said if I was prepared to wait another 2 months for them to make my doll again they will make her with the new chest part! So, i'm very happy! Even though my doll is normal skin they said they have to start all over again as it is hard to match the resin if they just make the chest part. Must admit I don't really understand what they said about it being hard to match to normal skin given that they sell parts? I guess they must be perfectionists!

So, although I will have to wait longer (and i'm so impatient to get her!) I got a great outcome. I hope they sorted everything for you?

    16. @Dolleve Wow that is incredibly generous of them! @_@ It's hard to believe they made such a fuss about it & then decided to flat out restart from scratch... But I am so happy for you!

I also ended up with a good outcome ^^ Souldoll hadn't finished producing my Zenith yet, so they just said that they "have decided to send my doll with new chest parts" & "Don't worry about it." I don't know if I will have to wait a lot longer; I sent my final payment last week and still no news. Anyway, I'm really satisfied now & can't wait to get her! ^^

    17. I've got to say, the original part really bothered me when I saw how it looked as she posed, I'm soooo happy they fixed this.... my wallet however, is crying! I'm really wanting to get a Zenith Gwen, but I'm so nervous I won't like her face Sculpt that I might end up with an Evelyn or Isabel... I haven't been through all the Zenith threads because I'm still new here, does anyone have a Gwen with faceup that is not done by the company?

    18. Does anyone have any owner pics of Isabel-Human ver.? I've only seen 1 owner picture so far and I'm really interested to see more ^__^

    19. I'm really glad to read that Souldoll is making good on orders of their Zenith girls that were placed before the new upper joint was revealed. I lost faith in them for the way they reacted at first.
My plan at the beginning of the year was to pay off a layaway I have at Ring Doll, then order Evelyn. So, hurray!! Souldoll is respecting their customers, 10% discount through May (pays for shipping) and 6 month layaway. My vampire Soom man will have his sister home by Christmas - maybe.

It's like playing the stock market or running a business just to collect bjds these days. You have to do your research and sometimes stand up for yourself.
But, wow - there are some fabulous creations out there!

      :sumomo:

    20. Ahhh, I might end up getting the new Zenith body for my girl then. I just love the way the new one moves. I just hope she doesn't do some crazy, demonic, back-snapping thing if I get the new body.

    21. I'm glad you guys are getting the upgraded torsos. It's definitely good to stand up for yourself. It not only helps you, but often others with issues as well, because how else will the company hear what the customers want? I think all customers from every company should bring up their issues with the customer service, even if it seems like a small thing or you're not expecting compensation. If nobody complains, the company won't fix what needs to be fixed. There are several companies whose quality control is going down the drain and people just keep on buying from them. Anyway, I'm 100% certain Souldoll wouldn't have upgraded that torso joint at all if people hadn't complained about it in the first place.
I'm glad I also managed to get a new (old type) torso from them, although I had to pay for it. There was just no living with the new one for me because of how I handle and pose my dolls.

I've kind of lost faith with Souldoll's body designs at the moment, though. They used to make superbly posable bodies (the original double line!) but now all the new female bodies are just clones of the NL girl body which is probably their worst posing girl body yet. Rather than trying new things -which they used to do, they seem to stick with what they have now. It's fine for people who don't need their dolls to hold complex poses and just want them for the aesthetics, but I pose mine and I still have a few Zenith heads I'd like to own. I guess I'll be waiting until they go for another round of new bodies and hope that the heads I want are still available. ^^; Or hope that they decide to make new molds of the old double and general Zenith bodies and offer them again. I know I'm not the only one that would like those back.

I'm currently waiting to have my first proper shoot with Iria (Uha) after I've gotten her body upgraded and modded, because I just finished an outfit for her. But the weather is not allowing it yet. It's torture to wait when I have an idea and a location but it's too wet outside. Hopefully the rains will stop next week. =__=; After that, I'll have to work on her other outfit that she can wear with the armours, but finishing that will probably take months still. But it's nice to work on my own dolls from time to time, too. I've been busy with work and haven't had the time in a while.

    22. I've actually been wondering why Souldoll hasn't added the thigh joint to the female body yet. I mean the male bodies have it and I love for the option to be available for my girl. I haven't taken a closer look at the new bodies they have (as I am picky with female bodies and I don't like the fact that Souldoll bodies are so busty), but attempting new things should be something companies should try. It's the way to develop and improve. I'm sure Souldoll has attempted new things (like that giant doll) but it'd be nice to see some more attempts at body structure and maneuverability of the dolls. Their dolls always look like meta-humans, they should really try working with it.

    23. Tera Zenith is the only current body that has the thigh joint. The Zenith female doesn't need it that much because her leg can be pulled up. She's strung from head to toe still, so lifting the leg isn't as much an issue as with the dolls that have their legs strung together. The NL bodies and the Vito female could use the thigh joint because their legs are strung together, like the Tera. Then again the thigh joint it useless if it's hard to maneuver and has to to be pulled and lifted as opposed to just turned = impossible with pants.

The thing with Souldoll is that they are doing new things -for them. They're just working backwards: their old double line had thigh joints and much more maneuverable joints. Ironic that the old thigh joint they had seemed to be easier to use than the new Tera one, too. They've probably let go of the sculptor that made those bodies. Because I think their old kids bodies were more posable as well, but ever since the NL. line came out, they've been cloning the female body to every size. They seem more focused on aesthetics now, instead of posing like they used to be. Which definitely sucks for me personally. I like a pretty body as much as anyone, but it's useless to me if it doesn't work well.

But if there's something you want, you should definitely let the company know. Who knows, they might like the idea. And since they're running a business, they should be open to what the customers want.

    24. I haven't actually played with the Souldoll Zenith body yet, but what I would really want is different chest options. The current Zenith bust is huge and it's not my preferred aesthetics. I really liked the double jointed body for its more delicate curves and bust, but Souldoll decided to stop selling it last year due to resin shedding issues.

On top of that, I find Souldoll's customer service to be pretty bad. During the Winter event they tried to get away with giving their customers the old chest piece when the new one was plastered all over the 2 new Zeniths sales page. It took a lot of arguing to get them to agree to let my December order get the new chest part, and now it's been over 4 months without news of them. I agree that we should voice our opinions for SD to start answering their customers wants & needs, but they are just so hard headed I think I won't be bothering with them ever again. I mean, 5 months of wait for a blank nude doll with no Winter event props is really long.

    25. Mm, I know how their customer service can be. I don't think the english rep really wants to take many issues to the others in the company and only gives in if the customer is persistent enough. But if something is wrong, the more people that complain make it more likely to bring the point across.

I find this incredibly ironic, because I've never had resin shedding issues with the old Zenith bodies (I have 2), while the crappy-ass joint on the new Zenith female shedded resin like there was no tomorrow. The top my girl used was literally covered in resin dust on the inside when I took it off. Way to design a joint so that it grinds against itself and get's slowly destroyed. =__=

Also, interestingly I was told that the reason for the discontinuation was that the molds had worn out so that the casting work was too difficult, resulting in faulty products (namely ones that shed resin in the limbs). But since they don't seem to have issues with the licences for that body, they could just make new molds and offer the body again -if they wanted to. I just don't think they want to, because it's always more work to have a lot of body options.

    26. Souldoll Zenith girl owners I need your help!
I need to know the length, width and wrist ball circumference of the Zenith hands (these preferably for the best comparison to what I need them for *Special ball jointed doll for you, SOULDOLL* )
      Any help is greatly appreciated.

    27. Hey @Mirror_ada, do you still need these measurements? I can try measuring my dolls no.2 hands but I can't guarantee the accuracy.

I just got my Zenith girl with the new chest piece. It's quite nice and I'm very happy with it, but it has its pros and cons. For my first Zenith I got a blank Lime, and let me tell you right away she's not that pretty and rather grumpy looking! I'm excited to get her faced up, however. I think she has a lot of potential. Here are some pictures of the new chest piece & its mobility. Beware these pictures are NSFW! (Sadly the pictures are all b&w since the lighting was really bad today. If you want coloured pictures PM me! ^^)

Here she is in her dehault chest position.

      Here she is leaning minimally.

      Leaning at maximum.

Here is a great view of Lime trying to look upwards. As you can see, she can't really do it! Sadly the new chest piece does not have any locking device to allow her to stay in an upwards-looking position and automatically falls back to her default chest position when you let go, pinching you in the process if you are not careful!!
      https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/5f/59/1f/5f591fa5dd371d2d23cabd1e07051b88.png

Looking down is the same issue.

But all in all she looks really nice. The breasts are very big but look graceful nonetheless.

I hope this is helpful to someone thinking of getting the new Zenith body! At first I was planning to try trading it for Souldoll's previous double-jointed body but now I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. The head is surprisingly small! I believe it's MSD sized.

Edit; Just realized I can't put a million photos in the discussion thread, so I updated the post with a million links instead. Hope it helps!

    28. Congrats on your first Zenith! Lime is one of the Zenith girls I'd still want, but I'll rather not have her at all if the only option is that new body. Seems like the renewed version doesn't have as much movement as the original (understandable, because the hole for the strings is smaller), but as it still keeps snapping back with force, I can't say they improved anything but the looks on that one. Souldoll baffles me sometimes. They used to make such amazingly movable bodies...

For the neck, if you are up for it, you could make a few more nodges inside the head for the S hook. I assume there's just one around the middle of the hole where the hook and strings come through? If you make notches behind and in front of that one, she will gain better ability to look up and down if you put the S hook on one of them. I did this for my Paratiisi because she couldn't look up at all. My Uha looks up and down just fine, but other heads have different sculptors and move differently.

    29. @Dayme Blank heads can look so different and even "ugly" sometimes, but then with faceup they suddenly look really cool! Lime does seem like a versatile sculpt that could pull of many different looks, so I'm excited to see what you have planned for her ^^

It'd be great if you could post the rest of the pictures somewhere, maybe the "Photo reference" would be the correct place for that? I'm sure there are people who are wondering about getting a Zenith and would find those photos useful :) And then later when more people get their Zenith girls with the upgraded chest part could post photos there and perhaps someone who has both versions could post pictures as well.

    30. @Yenna The looks, as you said, are very much improved. But at the end of the day, the body is not as efficient as the previous double-jointed body, which does kind of bother me. But for now, I'm enjoying it quite a lot! ^^
About the neck; I'm not sure I'm up for customization just yet, but it's something I'll keep in mind! It sounds pretty smart & I think Lime is just one of those sculpts with limited mobility. I love Paratiisi, by the way. If I ever order a second Zenith (probably if Souldoll rereleases the previous body), I'd probably get Madalyn. ;)

@safir I really do hope I can get her a good faceup & bring her to life! I'm planning on sending her off this summer with her (soon to be) twin brother, a Fifth Motif GooHwa.
And I think I figured something out! I just copied the links to all of the pictures and put them in my post instead of the pictures themselves. If the links work, you should be able to see them up top^ !

    31. @Dayme Fingers crossed for you ^^ I'm sure she and her twin brother will both turn out great!
I checked the pictures, looks like the range of motion is really good and it looks nice too :) I have my eyes set on Isabel (possibly the vampire version), so who knows, I might have both of the body versions at some point in the future :3

    32. Hello all :) I don't own a Souldoll yet but am looking into the new Summer event heads and have decided to go for Swinte. I have a question regarding Souldoll and possible hybrids. I love Souldoll faces but not so much in love with body proportions. Can anyone tell me if Souldoll Zenith girl heads fit on Iplehouse SID or nYID bodies? Thank you in advance for any advice :)

I'm glad Souldoll updated the chest plates for everyone who ordered before it was released :).

    33. @PennyDes I can test my Justitia head on SID and NYID bodies soon :) I'll PM some photos for you.

    34. That's so nice of you ... thank you very much :).

    35. I just ordered my first Souldoll from the summer head event :dance. I ordered Zenith girl Swinte with Faceup as well as a blank Yola and a free gift of a blank Swinte. Is anyone else thinking of getting Swinte?

    36. I just ordered a full doll Swinte. She'll be a sister to my Isabel, Cloud. I'm still searching for a name for her but right now my nickname for the two of them is The Ghost and The Darkness.

Here's a new pictures of my lovely Isabel.

    37. @Patrice S Oh she's so beautiful ♥ I really love Isabel, I'd love to have her in my doll crew some day ^^ Also, congrats on your Swinte order!

    38. Thanks Safir. Isabel is truly a lovely sculpt.

And Souldoll added several pumps so now I'll have some use to use with the heel feet I have.

    39. Your Isabel is very lovely <3... I love her sculpt but have been waiting for more customer images before officially adding her to my wish list. There are so few photos of her out there....thank you for sharing yours :). I'm glad to hear you bought Swinte as well...she's such an intriguing sculpt. There was no discussion about her that I could find so I was beginning to think I was alone, lol. Wishing you luck in coming up with Swinte's new name :thumbup.

    40. PennyDes, you can find more pics of my Isabel on my Flickr album. She is truly a beautiful sculpt and she photographs easily.

    41. Hello! Does anyone own a Friel? I only have seen the promotional photos for her on her product page and I wanted to see some actual photos of her. I'm contemplating buying her through the Marketplace if she can be found - I know she's sold out on the company page. Thanks for entertaining my request! :sweat

    42. Thank you so much for the link :). She is very lovely and your photographs are great. Isabel has definitely made it to my official wish list.

    43. I got my first Souldoll girl today, and I can already tell there is no going back. She's a Leira with all the bunny bits (though I have to send those to get some blushing). But I'm very impressed with this girl. She poses fairly well, and has such a nice color. I expect that I will have many more Souldoll ladies in my collection before all is said and done. :sweat I don't know how I missed out on these gorgeous dolls for as long as I did. I need to play catch-up with the previous discussion threads!

    44. CourtneyC, your Leira is gorgeous!

    45. Have you seen the new Souldoll girl Serena?

Centaur version: *Special ball jointed doll for you, SOULDOLL*
Human version: *Special ball jointed doll for you, SOULDOLL*

I have fallen head over heels for her :love I hope I can get the human version with centaur head in sandy brown. Fortunately the event runs till November, so I have time to collect the necessary funds. Otherwise I'll just have to do a 6 month layaway. I just can't miss out of this girl.

    46. Serena is fantastic! I think she's the first SD sized female centaur?
I can't swing her right now but I hope lots of people buy her!

Ooooo They are offering the centaur body on it's own!!!

    47. Serena is gorgeous, I especially love the elf-eared head! <3 Centaurs are not my thing, but I'd love this girl in the human body... Sadly I shouldn't purchase more big resin girls since I don't really have room for them nor any characters in mind ^^;

    48. I totally adore Serena, human version. I really love everything about her. Souldoll will be the financial death of me ... hooray for 6 month layaway!

    49. Serena human version is absolutely amazing. The hair (even unbraided), the clothes, the faceup, the sculpt, the clothes, wow. If I didn't already have a layaway with them right now, I would probably be getting myself a doll I never intended to get, in a scale I never intended to get.

    50. The human Serena is stunning. I love everything about her but I really didn't want to do another big doll. But is so beautiful that I may have to squeeze in one more big one.

The centaur head is gorgeous too but I wish they had modeled the horse part more after Aehael than using Chiron's. At least that's what I'm telling myself because I have absolutely no room for something that big now.

    51. I love the centaur head! I'd love to be able to get her on the human body but I doubt I'll be able to get her before she is gone. I absolutely love the horns too!

    52. I think Serena is a big version of Freya. Same bump on the nose, same mouth. She really is beautiful, as is Lail. Souldoll are churning out some amazing sculpts

    53. @Ishtar, I agree, she definitely looks like Freya, which I'm happy about! I love Freya, just figured 50cm would be too close to MSD for me. :D

@Arekushia I think you're right, she is the first SD female centaur! I'm so excited for her. I keep eyeing the centaurs that pop up from others but they're always little or look young (MSD or smaller) and now I can get one in my preferred 1/3. <3

    54. @ryuunohime I was worried my vito guy would be too small but he looks fine with my bigger dolls. Most of mine are smaller than zenith size tho

    55. Hi :) it's been awhile since i've been on the forum but wanted to share a picture of Swinte :). She is on a tan skin Mirodoll body for now but i hope to spray the body to match her skin tone at some point. Sorry the picture is a little grainy. I ordered Full set Anaele and can't wait for her to get here. Unfortunately that meant I had to miss out on Serena so I am looking forward to pictures of her on DOA.

    56. Congrats on your girl @PennyDes . Is that the default face up? She looks lovely and I really like those glasses on her. :3

I also got a Swinte as a gift head during their last event, but I don't have anything for mine -not even a character as she was truly an extra in the order. I got her as a back up in case the Jina head I ordered wouldn't work for the character. But it seems like she will, so the Swinte is an extra, and yet I don't want to part with her because she's so pretty. I don't have any photos of the Jina yet either, because I'm waiting for eyes for her from Enchanted Doll... It's probably only been a few weeks since I ordered, so it'll take a few more. In the mean time, I'm trying to hunt down a very character specific wig for her. She's hanging out on a borrowed body without eyes right now, poor thing.

Did you guys notice the sandy brown and grey skin event they have until the end of the month? Seems like all their basic Zeniths are available in the two skin tones. I'd be very tempted if they still offered the old body, but as they don't, I can't buy from them. Which is probably a good thing, because I couldn't afford it anyway and I really don't need any more big girls. Their wardrobes have taken over my bigger storage boxes, haha. xD

    57. Hi Yenna :). Thanks for your compliments on Swinte and yes she does have the default face up. Oh I'm sorry to hear your Jina is without eyes... I hope they arrive soon. Enchanted doll eyes look so amazing online (I've never seen them in person). Best of luck on deciding what to do with your Swinte head :thumbup as she really is a pretty sculpt. I actually ran into the same issue with Yola. I bought Yola only so I could get a free blank Swinte head but I ended up liking her sculpt so much I can't seem to part with her. What kind of wig are you trying to find for Jina?

I wish Souldoll offered the old body in any color. The proportions look nicer in photo comparisons of the old body vs. the new body.

    58. ED was fast and sent the eyes after just 3 weeks, so they're on their way now and I should be able to take at least some kind of photos of her soon. :3 I've had a lot of ED eyes over the years and I love how flexible they are with custom orders and how many different colours they have.
The wig is black with side parted bangs and it's about shoulder height with curls -longer if they're straightened. And not insane giant curls like on most wigs, but more toned down like a real person would curl their hair. I'm looking at one mohair I could trim a little because I definitely can't find anything that's right in the synthetic fiber categories. I ordered alpaca fiber and made a wig for her myself, and it would be fine otherwise but the fiber is so coarse that it looks like horse hair on her. I'm so frustrated about it too because alpaca isn't cheap (I don't have the patience to process raw fiber). I might have to look for smoother black fiber but ordering is always a bit of a risk. I would just custom order one from the alpaca wig makers, but I think they all use the glue technique instead of sewing the wig. I don't like hard wig caps or the fibers being fixed in one direction = it doesn't leave many alternate styling options. And Zeniths have such weird heads that I'm not sure it would fit unless the maker had a Zenith themselves. Such a problematic wig this one, you'd think it's not that hard to find but it is.

Oh yes, I so wish they offered the old body too. It's got such lovely and smooth looking joints. The new body is all leg, with a squished torso, not to mention the giant boobs that are definitely not everyone's cup of tea. But it's funny how the extra heads come in and make themselves at home. I wish I could just sell my Swinte and not have to find her eyes, wig or character, but she's just too pretty...

    59. Hi Yenna :) I'd love to see the eyes in Jina when they arrive. Thanks for letting me know enchanted doll eyes are a nice company to deal with.
The wig sounds very pretty... I hope you find one like it. Sorry the wig you made didn't turn out right :(. That can be disheartening especially if the materials cost a lot. I've never made any wigs myself but want to someday. I recently found a great video on how to make a stretchy sewn wig with synthetic fibers. I think she shows how to curl and style too. If you'd like I can private message the link to you :thumbup. Let me know.
Lol, yes I noticed the heads do have a bit of an awkward shape to it but fortunately the head looks great once the wig is on. Iplehouse wigs don't fit too well but so far Monique Gold 7/8 wigs are a very nice fit.
I agree about the new bodies. I am not a fan of the huge bust personally and when my Anaele arrives she will be getting a bust reduction. Either that or I will modify an Iplehouse YID so the Zenith head will fit. I will have to see what I need to do once she gets here as I've never seen a Souldoll body first hand. I'm new to Souldoll ownership and only have heads so far. All I know is I want a petite look ;).
Best of luck finding a look for Swinte and getting / making that wig you want or Jina. :)

    60. @PennyDes You're welcome. I'll be posting a few photos with the current wig and the new eyes when they arrive, but then I'm going to have to figure out what to do with the wig problem. I'm not gonna go down the making a synthetic fiber wig myself -road, because those can be found in most styles. I actually sewed the alpaca fiber into wefts and made that one into a stretchy sewn wig too, instead of a glued one (I just kind of hate making wigs myself). It would be fine if the fiber itself wasn't horrible. I love how I can curl, straighten and put it up on a bun if I want to, but it just looks so bad because of the horse hair syndrome. x_x

Sorry, I don't think it's possible to do a petite look with the new Zenith body. She's very tall, volumptious and just generally pretty big. The good thing is that Zenith heads should be okay to put on smaller bodies because the heads are fairly small and so are their faces. You won't get a bobble-head syndrome, at least.

I used to love most of Souldoll bodies because they were very posable. I really wanted both of the older double bodies (male and female), but they discontinued them before I had a chance to get them. Now, I wish they had more variety in their (female) bodies. But no, they're all clones of eachother: huge ass, big boobs, giant thighs, the same torso, legs and arms. Put the Zenith, Vito and NL.girl next to eachother and they're identical in shape. The only difference is the joints, and unfortunately I find all of their joint solutions dumb. I don't know what happened, they used to make such posable dolls and now it's all about the looks. Which would be okay, I suppose, but it's the same look all the time that really gets to me. =__=
