Hello everyone! I'm posting here to ask if I may get some help. >_< Does anyone have a yellowed Souldoll in normal skin and is able to compare it to a less yellowed/not yellowed one? I'd like to see how Souldoll yellows I want to be sure it doesn't become banana or fluorescent yellow. I'm trying to yellow a normal skin head to match a much yellower body and I'm not ready to lose this face up so so blushing or dyeing to match is not yet an option.

might be able to help with this one.... I know she has a new one and an older one but as to yellowing ... even my 2 yr old Kagel (who spent a year boxed and has been out but not in direct sun too much) seems pretty color stable. I have no idea what Aernath might have in her giant collection any more ;p

 

Hmm, the only Normal resin doll I had from them, still hadn't yellowed or faded much after several months.
I've since sold him. The other SD dolls I have are white, sandy brown, and grey resin, so I'm no help I'm afraid.

 

Haha Thank you Lady Tiku and Aernath for your help anyways. Has Souldoll found the secret to non yellowing resin!? xD I'll keep looking around.

I've left the headcap in the sun for a long time and nothing has changed.

 

are you trying to match an old SoulDoll body?... if so and it's 2nd hand... try cleaning it? maybe it's been in a smokers home? or you may need to have it airbrushed.... I've seen a wild spectacular job in person... it was like turning a pink doll tan colored... the match was insane. The owner had the head cap left original for reference ;p.

 

I'm trying to match a Spiritdoll body. Spiritdoll is pretty yellow normally but I really like their bodies and I've discovered that I don't much like Souldoll's. I have considered getting him air brushed to match but I don't really want to lose this face up yet. T_T

 

O_O oh boy ... that might be.... difficult. And reverse brushing (of the body) prolly would not work ><. Don't hold me to this but I think th company that matchs better is (sorry I don't recall the proper name ><) Granado?

 

You could try Schminke's yellow pearl pastel, near the bottom of this page. It's an iridescent color, sparkly, but the original faceup would come through. It could go over the entire faceup, tho you'd have to reapply gloss if you seal it. I used it to help a new Spiritdoll head better match an older more yellow body. The head was pinker and my original faceup made it even pinker. If it doesn't work you can wash it off instead of sealing it. I was actually surprised by how well it worked. Then I added just a touch of pink blushing in the hollow of the neck and collarbones to tone down the body.

I agree with everyone else about Souldoll tho -- the resin color is remarkably stable. Even the white,

 

I have to ask, even though many other have maybe asked this. But I want the Onulharu head, but I need to find a perfect body for him that is not as expensive as Souldoll So what body fits, resin match vise and size?

 

I can tell you are eager for a whole doll. I suggest getting the head now and saving up for a body because to get a workable body you most likely won't save much in the end.

 

These days there are so many companies out there, and just as many body types... "What body works" all depends on the way you want your doll to look.
Taller, shorter? Muscles or slender? Wide shouldered, or narrow (this in particular helps make the head look bigger or smaller, whichever you want). You want a three piece torso, or two? You want him to look good naked or have better posing?
Once you decide on how you want him to look, head out and browse the gallery threads. Browse the general discussion threads that discuss the attributes you're looking for. It's a wide, wide world of possibilities!

 

It has been difficult! xD I also remember that Granado is a good match but I already have a Spiritdoll body for another doll, both characters have nothing to do with each other so they never both sit around at the same time and I wanted to reduce the load I have around the house. I also prefer this character that I have on the Souldoll to be more yellow than pinky because it suits the character better. Oh and after having the Spiritdoll body for a short time, I have found that it is SO much easier to clothe than the Souldoll one. It's a bit sad because I like Souldoll's more muscular look.

That does sound like it would work. I'll look into it but as of now, I have no experience with face ups or have any other supplies for it. OTL I'll def look into brushes, gloss, and sealant too though.

Does anyone know if SoulDoll has done a 'greening/yellowing' test? and posted it I mean...Iplehouse has and is currently doing a second one with some new resin formula's... It would be handy if SD did this too. And 3 days is no time at all...

Thanks for the help. I've found nothing like that here. OTL Sorry I didn't specify! When I said 3 days, I meant for the 3 days straight that I've switched to having it under direct UV light and didn't include the time it's been in the sun which was hard to keep track of because it's been randomly cloudy lately. Usually it's ridiculously sunny and bright here because I live in Arizona but even then, I live in an apartment so I don't have a place where I can leave the headcap outside without it getting thrown away/eaten by an animal/stolen/kicked around by some kid.

 

3 days still is not much... could take 3 weeks... but just watch carefully....

I heared about Souldoll BJD normal skin is kinda pink. Does anyone know if Souldoll resin color could match with volks?

Just ordered an Omulhara head - made a doctor's coat LOL & I've already got a Souldoll Zenith doll so I can switch heads while saving up $$$ for another body...

 

After fighting (an losing) with his outfit I gave up and left him in just the shirt... but Bliss (IH nYID) didn't seem to mind... much to M's chagrin ^^

both I think! Cuz even if it's lasting love.... she's still gonna be a bit of a handful.... okay A LOT of one lol. Even I don't know details yet but he is enough older than her that she is bordering on being a 'young girl' in a decidedly 'woman's' body... and worse she feels grown up but is not to 'worldly' yet... If you remember his bio... he's been through the wars... seen stuff no one should see and done most of it too... And she may be 'not worldly but she hasn't been sheltered and pampered totaly...

Nut shell is they represent a pair that embodies my hero/heroines from my fave books I read (not specific characters but general types ^^)

I like the way you phrased that! And yes that is sort of it ^^. These jaded men need help. And a totally soft heart won't do it... thier women need fire to be able to stand up to them... or get them so twisted up they don't know if they are coming or going lol. But my girls have to have some kind of dark element too. Or they wouldn't have the strength to stand up to them... but definitely the spirit that stays pure even in troubled times for them ^^. You really need to read my fave authors books lol. The heroines are ... less than typical lol.

 

Your M is such a hot boy, Lady Tiku - I never appreciated the mold until I saw one live at Dolliverse this year! Crossing fingers for him and Bliss ^^

 

I would say that these girls (woman?) not "angel on our sinful earth", but they are so full of life. They remind me of water: like the water, this girls can be rigid, strong and power, cold as ice, emotional like waterfall... and tender as soft water flows, which give a rest to someone inflamed wounds...
In russian fairytales there are many stories about the wonderful water, that heals and returns to life, so i think the same about the relationship between man and woman like your M and Bliss (and other couples))). She is his magic water, she brings him (or his? Oo) to live, giving him a chance again to feel the fullness of life. As said aernath: "she may be the innocence he's lost and is looking for")

Ya I hope 'Edan' doesn't mess this up ^^ These two have a fit that works... and yes I know what you mean about the mold... it's great and I love this limited (DollPedlar) face with those eyes (yes the eyes were specific to him too). DP did a good job with here 'custom' request ^^. FYI he is still available fullset or by bits even 2 years later (DP sux at advertising lol). I'd love to be able to get another one ><.

lol I talk a lot too... but you have a talent with words (even in slightly broken English O_o). Do you write? (In your own language I'd guess). I think you should ;p.

As for the height thing.... zenith dolls (boys) were NEVER 69 cm... that began as a mistake Soul Doll made on their own website... I think they have fixed it (not sure) but that does not mean everyone else has caught the 'error'. There are many 'mistakes' on the SD site... you just have to be careful and check with other ppl (like in here) if something seems strange to you. ^^

 

Lady Tiku, thanks^^ You right, in my own language i'm a writer and manga translator, but English grammar isn't my main advantage at this time X)

It seems that zenith boys shorter than iples EID girls. This is no good ==

 

lol so many people do the manga translation thing to work on other languages... ^^ the best thing to remember about English when doing translating... is most other languages seem to be 'backwards' (dramatically). compared to English.. (understand I only know English but have seen the 'mistakes' make by translations. and word order and 'tense' are the most common.

And for the zenith boys... nYID is good (65cm and just under 60cm for YID's)... and the slimer bodies fit well together too. But even my EID Luna (65cm) didn't look bad with my M ^^. They are the same height actually ... eventually I will have all the IH girl sizes and can compare... ^^ I'm still not good at getting them to stand alone yet >< so my comparison shots are a little bit deceptive. Just browse my 'group' folder in my Flickr (or pairs folder) I did get some shots of Luna and M once standing unaided... they look fine... he does look very slim though.

I promise to get better shots showing size comparability... but really, I don't think these two care O_o My poor Edan... have to find him a girl now that M seems quite comfortable with his 'Bliss' ^^. A late night cuddle before they all have to retire to their own rooms... ... It's only proper ;p

For the record, I ordered and paid for him the day they put the head for sale on the website (06/17)

Not too likely ... it was at the anime con I go to. Last year someone 'found' a wallet.... but no money... I will check in a few days but the security had my report info with my numbers so ... ya I screwed. And I think Dad killed the camera you still need film for... that or he was to dumb to change the battery after 20 years of no use... 'it still made noises he said ...><' ... Almost 75 years old and still thinks/behaves like a 5 year old -_-... And I told him to change it too!

I might be able to get the first 1000 raw pics off my old comp at minimum... The last 100-200 though.... I didn't load all of them to flickr even -_-. And the ones I do I am doing a lot of light/color tweaking ><. This will teach me to ALWAYS keep a duplicate back up of the "raw" unedited versions for sure. Now I need to find the shop (other one) that sold it... my local one... closed ><. And Dad is already balking at going across town. "just go to Walmart here (5 blocks away) he said... I did ... they don't sell even the 'brand' -_-. What is it with men when they get old???

That or SID's have giant ones? The le Roi knee breaches fit fairly well every where... but... they have back pockets and if you take the inner edges of and put them together... they would fit O_o... That's at least a centimeter of fabric! >< But I have two pair so I CAN try getting them tailored XD Just have to find someone to do it lol. They are black and M could wear them with the gold or purple set from Doll Heart (all gold is a bit tacky lol). I'll get him in 'court' fashions yet! ^_^ But omg I'd love to try the new IH EID Admiral's stuff on him... I wonder if it just 'hangs' on him how bad it would be lol... But but.... For the record he has quite asymmetrical features, but those are interesting, the eyes positioning is a challenge though !!

Yes, the eye sockets in particular are very different, I had to go with Eyeco Softeyes (11mm) to get a pretty good fit, but it was hard positioning them so that he doesn't get a crooked stare ! 10mm glass eyes are a good pupil size but they leave a pretty big gap in the corners :'(
I have a few personal days coming around very soon, I'm sure I'll be able to get some sunny weather for his face-up

Yay! I really do like that dark blue and black wig. I think it suits him fine. Especially with the faceup you've given him. It all goes together so well! Do you have more photos of him somewhere? I would love to see more!
