SoulDoll Zenith Discussion Thread - Part 1

I applaud Soul Doll for only paying homage through his name, and not flirting with infringement with the sculpt. Ironically, he has more of a Jon vibe.

 

Wow. I mean just wow. Part of it of course is the fabulous photography but he is just gorgeous. Definitely a Jon Snow. ... My only issue with him is that beard. and why? Because both I and Aernath have done beards just as good if not better...(points at Tang) *grin* Really. Pencil marks R us! So nope, I wouldn't be paying for the beard faceup. But yeah I like. If I weren't sitting here looking at enough resin to sink a battleship...

 

Is it just me or is my Marauder giving off a rather 'paternal' aura O_o... I see him like this .... a lot

Robb boots are for sale on the Souldoll site. They come in SB and DB colors. I love the boots.... also got so excited that I posted the info on the Soul double thread, too. lol

 

O_O I must be unwell... I am a shoe-hore... and I have no interest in them. O_o... They are almost a titch to the 'western boot' for me... not quite sure why though.... thank go actually since IH's Leonard is screaming at me

 

lol... I love the idea of Leonard, and all his trappings, however, he's a little too much Timothy Dalton for me. I'd love to have the outfit and things for my Tedros.

 

I am going to see how the demon hunter vest fits Marauder later (need to color st it or something...) And belts can be made to fit ;p It will be my first try with anything EID sized on him lol might even see if the boots will work at least for photos... not sure if they will 'stay up' those things seem way loose for an EID even. O_o. I am hoping for a great SID woman in the Carved Heritage. I think that size or even the nYID will be a better fit to the zenith boy size. (not fond of the melon boobed zenith girls ><... they are almost to Barbie "shaped".) All these decisions to make on top of fining a new pc that won't eat up dolly funds LOL.

 

Ooooh, and they're selling the outfit separately! But not the sword. Of course, by the time you add up the cost of the clothes/boots/sword, you might as well throw in the doll!

I want the sword truthfully but I dont want the doll or the clothing. I have a doll that has a weapon obsession so >.> hes begging at me for it.

 

I'm with you but in my case it's ME with the weapons obsession lol... *holds up random weapon* ... "there has to be one of you guys that can use this, right? ... no? ... I'll get it anyhow... just in case ^^" yup that would be me lol. And the older type it is the worse the want

 

I think since Soul Doll has listened to us in the past they'd listen to us now. So everyone who wants the sword go email them and request the sword be sold separately.

I love little swords too. I own several life size ones so of course i will be doing it for me and the doll XD

 

I don't have a Souldoll Zenith, so I really don't know how Iplehouse's EID clothing will fit him. I can tell you that the Zenith clothing fits my Dollshe Saint and Bernard beautifully. If anything the EID things would be a bit large on your guy (who btw I love).

The Souldoll Robb's sword is something that I want, too. (Speaking of weapons, I'd love to have some of the things that Iplehouse makes.)

Does anyone have Ossian? I always thought he was a beautiful guy.

 

Does the sizing work in reverse? Would the Zenith outfit work on an EID? I have to say, with the exception of the beard which is a little amateur this is a brilliant concept - that outfit

Nope I don't think I'll try to stuff my EID into the Zenith outfit...

 

1st - is jealous of the life size sword collection.
2nd - that made me laugh... half the time it's horrid at best to communicate with them period. The english speaker there is not to fluent. I asked once how to go about getting makeup on a blank I got 2nd hand.... I had no idea what the response meant lol. I had figured I'd ask someone where I live to do up a translation for me to send when the time came. ;p

1 - TYVM... he almost qualifies as an impulse buy if it wasn't for the fact that he was like a composite of the characters (from books) that I wanted to shell. I had actually seen the fancy long ruffled coat (the outfit Luna wears much better lol) first and had wanted the doll in it too. (yep bought an outfit w/o a doll for it first). And had seen 'teasers' of the Marauder doll it was meant for but never dreamed I could get him. It only took long enough to check my bank balances before I slapped the "buy" button lol.

3 - I bought the outfit for Ossian (no boots though) from Doll Pedlar. If she has that left get one there and then order the sculpt and custom make up from the company. You can almost get a full set of SD stuff form Pedlar that is sold out on the main site... the only thing you can't get is the 'gifty' type stuff like the special hands for the Egyptian(?) theme doll. But the basic outfits for sure. BTW the larger over coat fits my EID... only about 1/2 cm to short in the arms but not too odd looking ^^ But ONLY that item.

EID women with size "M bust" can wear zenith BOY clothing though ^^ Luna loves invading Marauders closet lol.

 

thank you for this. It's got me thinking though, maybe it would work for the NYID hmmm, I'm off to look Also, I'm thinking I could buy the outfit then buy a Zenith boy later - ooooh decisions. I also like another OT doll who is being discounted at the moment but isn't limited so I'm torn, both look brilliant but the other is half the price and is also a fullset Gah, I hate these dolly dilemmas.

Lady Tiku: I've sent them suggestions in the past and they listened I just emailed them about the outfits and sword. I think I worded it right where they'd do it. And it does help if others also email them for this same reason. I havent had a communication issue with them yet.

I just got a email from Souldoll about the sword. They said they are considering it so there is hope. if any folk want just the sword then just email souldoll soon so you can motivate them to put it up for sale separately!

 

I'm going to be putting Robb on layaway as soon as I can confirm exactly how to do a layaway order with Souldoll. I did email them to ask, but I'm going to ask here as well because I had a very hard time decoding the English in the last email I had from them and I'm not 100% confident I'll understand their reply about the layaway.
For those of you who have done one: What is the ordering procedure for starting a layaway? I understand how they want the initial deposit and payment schedule done. But to start one, do I just check out normally, add a note to my order that I want layaway, and then paypal them the deposit instead of the full order total? That seems to make the most sense, but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

I know "exactly" what you mean about 'decoding' their English I think aernath is the one you need advice from on this. (I think she's done LA too). But she seems to deal okay with the language thing ;p

 

Yup, you got it! I usually put in the order comments, the payment schedule too. Like:
1st payment $300 - today
2nd payment $300 - 5 June
3rd payment $300 - 5 July
---------------------
Total. $900

Make sure you put your order number in every PayPal payment too. And again, I often retype the payment schedule in the PayPal comments. Then, just to make sure all is well, I also post in the Q&A whenever I make a payment, giving them the PayPal transaction number each time. That way you get confirmation that they received the payment.
It seems like a lot, but this way there's less room for error, and everything is clear for both sides. And it's simple really. Just keeping the info all together. Make sure it's easy for them to match your payment with your order.

And congratulations! I hope you share tons of photos with us when he arrives!

like she said it seems like a lot but just remember CYA (Cover Your A$$) and you do this by "document document document" ... had this drilled into me for 2 years in my child care programe lol.

 

And done! I followed all of the steps aernath advised, including posting the payment on the Q and A board with the Paypal transaction #. So now I have a Robb ordered! It was definitely a little more complex than any of the BJD orders I've placed so far, but still simpler and less frustrating than, say, filling out a tax form. So overall, not so bad... plus there are dolls at the end of the process! =)
I expect it will be a while, especially since I got him with a faceup (the beard one!). I don't mind at all. I really am not ready for another new doll right now anyway--- I only ordered him now because he is limited and I didn't want to miss him. He's my first experience with that, too--- I've never fallen for a limited doll from ANY company before! But as soon as I saw him I had the same reaction I'd had to the first doll that convinced me I needed to own a BJD, my Elfdoll Rita. So I'm very glad to have been able to order him, but he can take his time getting here. =)

Yeah, the key is to make it easy for the company to get your payment matched up with your lay away.
I think the current wait time is about four months. Which is the industry average. Regardless, the wait time is always "too long"!

 

Four months does seem to be about average! For some reason I was expecting longer; I thought I'd heard somewhere that Souldoll was one of the slower companies. Serves me right for going by half-remembered rumor.
What I'm feeling impatient/antsy about at the moment is having my payment confirmed.... I probably won't be able to relax abut this until I know Souldoll has gotten the order and the payment.
I was just so surprised by this guy.... until I saw him I hadn't come across any boy dolls that I liked as more than just as an accessory to one of my girl dolls, basically. I didn't expect to either, so Robb totally ambushed me!

 

Oh! This is late but I have an Ossian. ^^ Here's an older shot of him from a meetup last August. He's such a gorgeous guy but I hardly take pictures of him! @_@ He really needs to be sueded or something because honestly his posing lacks luster. Can't complain about that hot bod though. Excuse the OT lady but my solo shot had his eyes shaded and it's such a shame to hide those baby blues~

 

Just cuz this pic makes me smile every time ^^. For a guy who seemed like a 'grumpy gus' Marauder seems more of a soft touch now... ;p

@ Ishtar go here to see my Luna in some of the zenith stuff (striped shirt, lumberjack look) She might get into some of the more 'pirate gear' in the next few months (if my orders arrive for the boys in the next few months ><) The fancy outfit (frilled long coat one) is also zenith sized but made by Doll Heart for an FDQ magazine deal.

 

Never too late!! He's gorgeous, and I love his reain color. I was going to get this guy when they offered him, and have always kicked myself that I didn't just do it. I love that you got the Souldoll faceup, too. I think that their artists are amazing. Thank you so much for showing him.

 

Pretty boys are pretty! I've always been tempted by the sandy brown Ossain. ^___^ And he's absolutely killer with those bright blue eyes!

Curious any word if they are going to offer Robb's sword for sale separately? I did email them and all I got was them going to consider it. I am just hoping that they changed their mind

 

I'm too focused right now on getting IH's "guns".... especially the latest one ... I'll need to get in on a split for it. (Ladies 'pocket' pistol). Large swords I can find from other places ... like a letter opener or something... the guns .... not so much ><

No pics to share but I do have some questions since my Souldoll Clay arrived.
Never imagined the body would be that huge, and his feet especially! I had some shoes that where his length but they aren't wide enough , and since most of the bjd clothing comanies don't put the with of the shoe I was wondering if you guys knew what whould fit them, before I spent 50 dollars for a shoe thats to small ^^

 

This is easy lol.... Luts Super Senior Delf (SSDF) ... they must have 2 S's... and the better fits (easier to get on/off) are ones with a more rounded toe. Pointier toed shoes in SSDF fit but are a pain in the a$$ to get on and off (tight) I am hoping my boys shoes will stretch a bit with wear. ^^ What type of look are you wanting?
Here Kagel(Marauder) has a nice pair of lace up dress shoes... they have a bit more 'wiggle' room when you open up the laces lol and he is free standing (no supports)

the brown loafers fit but boy they take work to get on and off... I hope the eventually 'ease' a bit.
I think his sneakers came from Dollmore but I can't be sure now... but they were a larger sized 'model' shoe I will try and figure out which ones...

 

I got these in a Taobao G.O.; they are SSDF size. I agree with Lady Tiku; pointy shoes are a pain to get on/off but its doable.

 

Oh my gosh you guys are lucky to have found shoes that fit. I have bought and wasted so many pairs of shoes because they will never go on even after I've checked the measurements before buying them. I have given up on buying shoes to fit and eventually I'll just have to buy him feet to fit. LOL For now, my guy has to borrow feet from another guy so he can have shoes.

 

For me it wasn't so much luck but rather my guy was a dealer commissioned full set that included shoes... I just noted that they were from Luts ;p, Some Doll Heart 70 cm size shoes also fit... but those are also in the round toe fits better catagory. I really need to do a photo of Marauders shoe hoard... it's almost scary lol.

If you are looking just canvas shoes/sneakers I've found Alice's Collections 70-75 "Shoes MS" fit great. Some of their regular shoes have a 70cm option but I haven't bought any yet since they aren't my guy's style. XD

 

I don't think sneakers would really fit me either, I have my eye on a set 70 cm Dollheart shoes, with a pritty round nose so hopefully they will do :p

 

guys- I got a question. I got an Elfdoll Sooah head and thought about building a hybrid with the souldoll zenith body. Not the latest- the one before. The one with the double jointed knees looking like beans.

I got a question. I made bad experiences with non-standing bodies. So I wish to know if this body is good to pose and especially important for me: good to stand alone. I had problems with the angel of dream body cause the knee was broken. Now i wish to be sure when I buy this body that I do not have problems

@greeneyed-soul: As far as I've seen and read, they pose wonderfully, the "bean" fitting well both ways.

 

ok this sounds. Think as so many people build hybrids with Elfdoll heads the bodies seem to be not good. I mean the original bodies

I wish I didn't mind the giant 'globe' boobs on the zenith girls ... I keep wanting to try one out but can't get past the (in my opinion) porno boobs ><. And for the record... it's the shape not the size I don't like O_o.

First, if you do have to get him :P make it a GO? That is if the leather coat is still available... lol I want it but not shipping for "just" that lol... and second if the wig does come with.... see if you can snag 2 (for you I mean). It always feels better with a spare ... I got mine for Marauder/Kagel since he is so picky about his damn hair ><! ooh and he finally will get in on the ADAD challenge! Now all my kids have had challenge face time! ^^

It's excellent Suspenseful & the 2 male leads, well, OMG worth watching LOL Plus Choe Ho Jin being evil - he's actually about my age & so adorable...
I'm planning on doing a cosplay of at least 2 KDramas w/my dolls! Thank goodness Soul Doll keeps sculpting idols...
