I know I have seen a comparison of Souldoll's old and new white but now I can't find it!

 

I thought they had it posted to their site. Maybe in the FAQ's?

 

I thought so too! I've tried FAQ, notices, and a bunch of dolls! I found it with a Google search!

 

Has anyone ever bought jointed hands with any Vito dolls? I really want to get some with Jacop. But I want to make sure they will fit

Vitos are so perfect

 

Has anyone tried to put a girl Soulkid head on the old girl Vito body? The soulkid and vito heads look to be almost the same size and I feel like the soulkid heads look way too bobbleheaded on kid bodies (I'm trying to go for an 7.5 ~ 8 heads tall proportions and want to buy a new body for my kid head)
I would love to see a full front body pic if anyone has tried!

There is a Vito hybrid on the MP in the MSD section actually, featuring a Bonnie head on it, that has the pics you desire
And yes, the heads of the (newer) Soulkids and Vito girls are very similar in size (6-7).

Soul Doll has posted a notice that as of today, April 21st, they are suspending sales of the Vito line as well as the Tera Zenith and Sweetest lines.

I'm glad they're making efforts to keep on top of their production times but sad that they find the need to stop making the Vito line 9at least for now). I hope it's not a permanent thing like with the Double line and that they bring the Vito line back because I love the size (I have 3 Vitos) and they're beautiful.

 

Oh dear. I have a hard time believing the reasons Souldoll gave us are the true cause for this cut... I fear it's just a polite way of putting it. For once, waiting time for orders placed directly with Souldoll were a dream compared to most other companies. We had two doll orders from them in the last 12 months, both only two months in waiting. Just read the post in this thread preceding this announcement.
Souldoll had a hard time holding their business together before when they launched their mass discontinuation, dropping everything but the best selling lines and molds. Some of their best sculptors were let go. Then came the Covid crisis, and with it the massive increases in shipping fees - and now it's down to the last two doll lines which always used to have the most sales. I think they are cutting down on costs massively now and they're struggling. I hope they'll make it somehow, they are such a great company

 

I have to agree with Mandagore here to a degree. They announced it and the moment they announced it the products were gone. I've ordered Zeniths, and I've ordered TeraZeniths and I've ordered them throughout the past few years. Even with Covid my orders this year (Two Zeniths and Two TeraZeniths) were faster than the previous year (one Zenith, One TZ)....the production time wasn't different between the two different sculpts/sizes this year. All of their current releases have all come from just one sculptor when beforehand I think it was at least two or three different sculptors. With a turn around time of roughly 4 months for the 'average' order (not counting detailed limited releases), I'm not sure how much more they want to cut down turn around times...

 

I was surprised that they announced the stoppage effective immediately. If anyone had been trying to decide/save up for one of the lines, the opportunity was just gone to do so. I get that it's been rough for a lot of people/companies this past year but damn.

 

I am a little sad, I think the Vito boys are pretty perfect and decided that I only wanted Vitos for my boys. I have two and was hoping to get another body is Sandy Brown. I understand why they felt the need to do this and I will stand by them. Souldoll has always been great for me to order from.

 

I love my SD guys (I have 6, 3 Vitos, 2 Doubles and a Souloid; 7 if you count the Phiel head that's on a DV 3-arm body). I do hope that the stoppage is a temp thing and that they eventually bring the line back. Not that I have the cash to spare for a doll any time in the immediate future *sighs*.

I don't have plans for another Vito at this time but that doesn't mean it won't happen (2nd hand now, but whatever). I mean, if there was the opportunity for me to get my hot little hands on Kyle/Amon The Hanged Man Vitos (gargoyle body), I'd be snapping down the cc so fast I'd leave friction burns on my fingers and I don't put dolls on credit (that is the heavily greased downhill slope to hell in my mind). I quite like the scowl on Lester's face, too, but I restrict myself from buying simply because he's pretty the odd time I see him pop up 2nd hand (which makes my dolly heart weep but my wallet thankful).

 

This is very very sad! Quite a few of you actually helped me decide on Vito being the perfect size for my boy doll idea.. although I did decide on another doll not Vito I did use their line a s a preference in size and comparison.

 

Oh my. Hope the sale-stop really is only temporary. I really loved the Vito boys and the one Vito lady I do own, is just perfect to get the right variation in sizes in my MSD crew - also perfect to shell my taller OC, so...
Sure others might need these sizes just for the sake of height diversity ^^°

If they feel overwhelded with production or have production issues, I can totally relate that they limit their offers.
Their caster might have limited capacities for them as well, so they need to prioritize what sells well and with few issues at the current sitution.
Crossing fingers we'll soon have this beauties return - maybe even return back with some new creations. Especially loved the Tarot series in all their sizes and a few more Vitos joining that wouldn't be a wrong move... :3 For me at last.

 

Yeah, there's not a lot of other companies that have the mature 50-ish male as a standard size. A good number of the other 50's out there are limited in nature and hard to come by.

 

I saw Jacob pop up as orderable again and pounced on it... got an email from them that it showed as available in error, and it would be at least four months if I don't want to cancel the order.
I was like, yes! I'll wait! I just want one!

wow, @XanIgnis - it pays to stalk. I should take a family portrait of my SD crew. so, far, 1 kid girl, 2 vitos, 1 zenith boy, and a Celestyn. not a lot of them, cut covering quite a few years.
Jacob is gorgeous! bare and unpainted? 4 mos is a miracle.

 

Tbh I couldn't tell from the email if that was completion time or how long before they start the production line back up. But I'll take it, either way!

We never need another doll. Wanting another doll... completely different story. Not getting another doll... Herculean effort that fails more times than is successful. And I'm okay with that because I have a horrible addiction to resin in the form of dolls.

Oh lord, Shoes are practically impossible to find for this size, at least in my experience. To be honest, the only shoes I've had -any- luck with are the shoes made by the company X.x

 

I cheated a tiny bit and have Iple SID girl high heel feet for some of my Vito boys so they can wear heeled boots/shoes. The SID feet fit rather well on the Vito boys although you need to make sure you get the "new" style not "original" or else they won't work. I can take pics of this in case anyone wants to see it.

Not related to this thread topic, the "original" style SID girl heel feet will fit the Iple FID muscular male body if you want/need your guy to have heeled footwear.

 

@Epona : I'm glad you asked about the fate of the Vitos! I was so sad when they made the abrupt announcement to suspend their production because Soul Doll is king of the "SUPRISE WE DISCONTINUED EVERYTHING" notices. I had asked about their Tera-Zeniths but didn't get the same reassuring answer. =_=;

I finally saw a Vito (girl) in person at my last meet and they are so beautiful! I ended up putting the Riris that was sitting at Doll Peddlar on layaway. At least she's fullset so I don't have to hunt down those odd clothing sizes...

 

I am thrilled they are coming back! l love my Vito Boys so much!

I am not sure for the Vito girls, but for the boys I have mine wearing SD17 sized shoes or anything around 9 CM on the outside.

 

I wonder if they'll bring back the old sculpts or come back with something completely new. I wish they'd offer the hooved body again. Even better, the gargoyle body. I wish I'd had the money to buy the Tarot series Hanged Man (Amon or Kyle, I'm not picky as I'm really not sure what the difference between the sculpts is) back when he'd been posted for sale *sigh*. I also would've loved to get my hands on a Billion or even a Kowalski but the price (at the time) was way out of my range.

 

I would suggest emailing Souldoll about your interest in a particular sculpt and/or an idea for a new concept! They might be open to rereleasing a doll, similar to how they did for aehael (centaur and then a faun release)

not a Vito size but I really hope they consider a kyron and Devonia rerelease… I’d love to get them both on the new double bodies, especially so if they make them on faun bodies!

 

@Epona I had asked them about the hooved body before when I bought my Berial (2nd release in grey). At that time they said they had no plans to re-release the hooved Vito boy body. While Belial's character doesn't have hooves, I most certainly wouldn't say no to a Vito with hooves. Especially since I have a newly acquired Soom ID51 who will eventually need a partner. I mean, I already kinda know who the character would be if they did a hooved Vito boy again (my wallet is shaking in abject fear at this idea).

 

I asked Souldoll about the Vito line also! I said I was about to order Freya when they closed sales. I really was! They said they planned to open sales before winter! Must be careful what I spend now.

 

Same here! I was planning on buying Saka or at least his head and... bam! Nope! lol.

Gotta watch what I spend my money on in the meantime, as well, lol... Before shipping, Saka with the double body and faceup will be $485.00.. I might see if Souldoll can send him to be unstrung for cheaper shipping, vito boxes are huge and I am worried to see what shipping will be like, LOL. Especially since the outfit I want to get for him will be $150 or so... :'D I think I have a spare Souldoll kid box somewhere, not sure if he would fit in it but if he can, he can chill in there when he's packed up in my closet....
After all is said and done, I am already looking at probably around $700 after buying Saka and some clothes for him... but at least I have some time to save up, and I can do a layaway for him if needed.

Does anyone know if Souldoll has your doll cast during the layaway? Or is it only once the doll is fully paid for?

 

Souldoll doesn't start casting your doll until it is paid off.

 

Per their announcement a few years ago, casting does not start until after the layaway is finished. That being said, depending on the length of the layaway I have seen them start casting my dolls after I have gone over the 1/2 price mark. Then again, this was with large orders (over 2000 USD) that were on layaway for their max length of time so I'm not sure if the price itself was what made them start or if they normally start after so much is paid off/after a certain amount of time.

I would not count on them casting early. If you wanted to have layaway and have them cast your dolls in the process you could look into dealers in your country. US based I know there is Fabric Friends and Dolls that I have used personally and had good luck with so far. I would talk to the dealer though because I know shipping prices have hit them hard as well so they may need to batch orders/wait longer before placing an order to make the juice worth the squeeze.

Hi beautiful Vito owners! Today I come to you with a question about clothing I still haven't found an straight answer to.
I just recently discovered SartoriaJ dolls and clothing line and was ecstatic to find their boys' measurements not that different but also not the same (as it also happens with Iplehouse's FIDs) as our Vito boys.
I'm in love with some of the clothing and they're completely my guy's style so I was wondering: have any of you tried them for your Vito and how did they fit?

 

I know there's a couple of people here who have both Vitos and the SartariaJ boys so perhaps they could be kind enough to do a side-by-side comparison of the two bodies. Or maybe someone has done one already?

 

Yes, they fit very well, I have a vito boy wearing the ripped jeans the black t-shirt from SartoriaJ!

 

Clothes should fit (I've seen other people use it but, of course, there is some room for error), but I believe shoes will not fit. Vito's have especially hard-to-dress feet, lol.

Shoes never really feet with these guys, am I right?
Luckily I'm not too troubled about that anymore as he has a pair of a bit bigger sneakers that do the trick (the same that the Vito in the above picture has, I think).

 

Vito boys can swap with Iple SID women feet if that helps at all for flat shoes. I have 2 of my Vito guys (and my FID) with the heeled feet from Iple. Resin match is not 100% but they're feet and when the shoes are on, chances are you won't notice. The grey is pretty close as is the old SD white and Iple white.

My guys being shoeless isn't usually a big deal for me. Shoes are also the bane of my dolly life so....

 

Looks like this thread hasn't been active for a long time, but I didn't know where else to post so here we go. I'm currently saving up for a Vito Liam (and saving, and saving, and saving...y'all know how it is) and I had a weird question for anyone who owns one already and feels like helping a girl out. Basically, I'm planning on pairing my Liam with my Soulkid girl and I'm concerned that since they're not necessarily made to go together, her head/face might look bigger than his (something that would bug me a whole lot, don't judge me). I've tried comparing their pictures based on eye size but as you can imagine this doesn't work too well, so if someone who owns this sculpt could possibly measure his face for me that would save me a lot of agonizing and wondering, lollll. A picture of a measuring tape across his face from side to side and top to bottom would be AMAZING (otherwise I wouldn't necessarily know what points were measured in order to compare), and then I could measure my girl's face and compare them that way. Probably a weird question to have, I know, but something I care about enough to find out before spending 400+ dollars on him.

 

Not exactly what you're asking for but I have 3 Vito's and 2 Kid heads (on a Souloid and DV body). I could take a pic of their heads side-by-side for you so you can get an approximate of what they'd look like next to each other. I don't collect girls but the Kid heads should be close enough to give you a sense of proportion I think despite being boys.

I have the Souloid Phiel Gold Mechanic head on a DV 3-arm body and a Kid Titika head 5/8" on the Souloid body. For Vitos I have Rail, Azrael the Hierophant skull head and Berial.

Additionally, the Kid heads I have measure 6 5/8" (6/7 wig) while the Vitos measure 7" (7/8 wig). There's only 3/8" difference in circumference of the heads so they're very similar in size and I don't think the pairing in that sense looks off. For the record, I have them paired as follows:
SD Vito Rail/Soom ID51 Gluino
SD Vito Azrael/Iple Creaa-J Lev
SD Vito Berial/Raccoon Doll Kai Elf
SD Souloid (Titika head)/AoD Min
DV 3-arm body (SD Phiel head)/Batchix Dark Elf

 

I would be interested to see this comparison, thank you!! My main concern is that from pictures I've seen, it seems like older Vito sculpts might have had larger heads than Liam? I'm not sure if this is true but it always seems like his neck looks bigger in proportion to his head than the others lol. That's why I was concerned about his head looking too small.

 

I can add some info... not sure how helpful it is given I don’t have the particular sculpt you are curious about.

I own:
Souldoll Vito Riris (older sculpt made for the old Vito girl body)
Souldoll Vito Charlotte (newer sculpt for the new Vito girl body)
Soulkid Lev (super old boy)
Soulkid Kyron (older boy released on the NL boy body)
Soulkid Baby Pink (very recent release,) 2021.

The one thing I can say is head size is inconsistent across all the lines. My Vito Riris girl has the tiniest head out of all the dolls I listed above. My Vito Charlotte has a more traditional MSD sized head but is very much in scale with my Baby Pink. Souldoll heads tend to lean toward the smaller size and I think that who the sculptor is makes a difference in the head size and scale of features.

Not sure if Souldoll might be able to provide you more accurate measurements... but it's definitely a mixed bag in my experience. My Vito Riris caught me most off guard. She kinda reminds me of a Fashion doll type scale. She doesn't look way off base from the others when fully displayed, but a definite size difference when side by side with my Vito Charlotte.

 

Here we go. I've got a standing shot, seated side-by-side and seated back-to0back. Note that for the seated shots I've got Warrick (the Souloid) sitting on a book just so the head sizes could be compared easier. If he's not on a book, the top of his head would not be even with Eilam's as Eilam is a fair bit taller than Warrick (52cm to 48.5cm). They also have the default face-ups for their respective sculpts.

The Vito has a greater head depth and height despite not being all that much bigger in circumference than the Kid head I have in the photo. It looks like even less of an issue when they're both wearing their wigs but the height difference between them may also fool the eye into thinking that the difference is less than it is.

 

This seems to confirm my suspicions... it definitely seemed when I looked at the different Vito sculpts, the head sizes all differed quite a bit. The Soulkids seem to vary too, not just in size, but in style.

This is kind of what I thought looking at Liam compared to some of the other Vitos! He seemed to have more fashion doll proportions to me. That was my main concern pairing him with an MSD that has a bigger head in proportion to her body.

@Iron_Dog Thanks so much for the comparison pictures! The Vito head is bigger in comparison than I thought, and that's a good thing, since I was worried about it being too small. Hopefully Liam's head will be a similar size!

 

@puppymush No problem. Just bear in mind that Eilam (Rail) was made in late 2017 and they did... refresh? the Vito line a year or two ago so may have made changes that are not reflected in my guys since they are the "older" Vitos. The Rail sculpt was also discontinued shortly after I placed my order for him.

 

I have a Vito Liam head that I put on a IH FID muscle body. I can do measurements but not tonight. It’s an older head though.
