Souldoll Vito (50cm) Discussion - Oh Yes!!! Part 2

Mar 23, 2013

    1. As the resident fantasy vito owner (I think, I haven't seen many fantasy dolls in this thread - please correct me if I'm wrong because I'd love to see them! :D ) who has bought boots for my Lester (these ones are a perfect fit!) I can tell you you're in for a tough time xD The Leeke L-Girl section for shoes has a few nice options, but none are knee length as far as I could see. I looked and looked for knee length boots when I was shopping for Kalmin a couple of years ago and could only find these by 5StarDoll as a good (but slightly clown shoe) option, but you needed to order a doll to be able to buy any accessories from them when I tried :( You may want to look at the Iplehouse YID Boy shoes section as their feet are only 0.3cm bigger than our boys and they have a couple of what look like knee length boots. I'd double check the leg lengths though!

Looking forward to seeing another fantasy vito when yours comes in! In the meantime, here's a photo of Kalmin I took a few months ago:

    2. I'm so new to the Soul Doll Vito boys that I have no clue how common or uncommon the fantasy theme is but it's wonderful to hear you also go for the fantasy style! Kalmin looks absolutely amazing and I hope to see much more of him in the future :D

Oh dear... well then I suppose the purchase of boots might turn into one of those epic quests ;) Thank you so much for the suggestions! I will take a look and start doing my research. In the worst case I will have to base the whole doll on this one scene in the book where the character is napping without his boots and keep all photos to that setting (just joking).

I will get my own copy of the books Gil is from in the next few days and then I will re-read them to check the facts and gather as much info as I can on the details on what he's supposed to look like and how he dresses beyond the stuff I remember. The unfortunate part is that I remember there being boots so I probably can't get away with a pair of shoes or emergency-sneakers in this case ;). Right now the main things that could be a challenge is the boots and the sword as well as figuring out the right eye colour and how to handle the eye purchase to give the right impression. The character is from this incredibly dark and grim fantasy story and I have absolutely no idea yet on how to get the look of eyes that are dead (as in, seen and been through way to much) for a doll... but hey it's an interesting challenge.

Thank you! :D It might be a few months since I have him on the long 6 month layaway (I hope to be able to pay the whole amount sooner than that) and then it always take a while to get things in order. I hope you will like him when he's done.

    3. Thankyou! :D Again, I'm super excited to see another fantasy doll - not that everyone else's modern day dolls aren't amazing, it's just nice to see someone else taking on the maddening challenge of fantasy in this size xD

Hahahahahaha! Do you mind me asking what series you're talking about? I love fantasy and I'm almost finished the second GoT book (I know, I'm probably the last person in the entire world to have not read them or watched the series xD) and I'm always curious about what other people read.

As you can see, Kalmin has a sword... I actually have a small collection of miniature swords! I found mine by searching for a sword letter opener on eBay ;) As for eyes, I'd probably go for a small iris to give a realistic impression, something too big and they're going to look like cartoon eyes... Which don't tend to give off a "dead" look xD

Oh, good luck! I waited 6 months for my last doll and it drove me crazy! Here's a close up shot of Kalmin's face, showing off his grumpy look:

    4. You are most welcome! :) I love the modern style as well and a friend of mine has modern style a Lester who looks amazing. But the "epicness" and "dear lord what did I get myself into?!!!" of fantasy characters is also so much fun :D

It's called "A land fit for heroes" by Richard K. Morgan. The first book is good if you can get around the part that everyone sort of sounds and talks the exact same way but fortunately I continued reading the other two books and the series turned amazing in those (seriously... I read the last two books in 3 days). It's one of those really, really dark stories that by the end got a bit "now you made my eyes sad and they're leaking for some reason!". Nah, I read those books around last year and had no clue about them until a friend told me "you might want to read these" so don't feel bad about that ;). I was pretty much the only person by the year 2000 who had never seen Star Wars so I know the feeling ;)

I will have to start looking for one and see what I can find after I've re-read what the sword should look like. Would be sort of embarrassing to get that "detail" wrong. I have to agree that a small iris and preferably a natural color (so no glow in the dark purple or similar ;) ) will go a long way. No large eyes wouldn't work here. I like the cartoony look a lot of the time but in this case with a character like this it has to look right.

I recently had a similar waiting period for a doll and I'm going to get a shipping notice for one I've waited even longer for any day now. So I very much hope to be able to pay a bit earlier. I sort of wonder if Soul Doll starts making the doll during the layaway plan or if they start after the last payment smade.

He looks so good! The grumpy look and the shape of his eyes is amazing and I really like how much variation is possible to get out of this sculpt depending on the faceup, hairstyle and eyes.

    5. All of your soul Doll Vito looks great! Lester is still my favorit.
But i am so nervous that I might not get the proper look that i want. So I cross my fingers that the face-up artist i send send him to can get him the look i want

    6. Oh, I know that feeling very well! I have 9 dolls so far in my fantasy universe and it's constantly expanding. Finding clothes and shoes is a growing challenge xD

I just googled the series and the description on wikipedia is intriguing me! I might have to venture out to see if I can find them at some point ;)

There are lots of historical replicas of swords in miniature form, particularly a Richard the Lionheart one which I quite like that Kalmin carries, and Asterion has a sword of Odin, so I'm sure you'll find something fairly close! For the eyes, you might want to consider looking at 10mm eyes. Kalmin wears 12mm and I often find myself wondering if they are too big, but I really love the colour and I'm too lazy to look for them in a different size xD

Oh congrats! At least you'll have a new arrival to keep you occupied ;) I don't know if they start making the doll immediately or after a certain number of payments, or even after the full amount is paid off. I ordered both my vitos through dealers so I have no idea, sorry :(

Hi Mariluvmakoto! What look are you hoping for on your doll? :)

    7. That is so cool! Do you write about them as well? Or do you keep the story to photos and perhaps photostories? :) I did browse a bit for boots yesterday and found a couple I like from Leeke... and of course I didn't check the important information so when I had decided on a pair of "emergency-boots" this morning the sales event was of course over XD Drats!

Cool! I'm convinced it's one of those series where people either like it a lot or aren't too happy about the less than kind content of he story ;) If you read the books it would be interesting to hear what you think about the story .

I will start searching for a sword and who knows, I might even make an attempt at making one eventually since I like challenges :) The 12mm eyes you have for Kalmin are absolutely beautiful and the color is amazing! I have some 12 mm and some 10 mm eyes (in all the wrong colors of course) which I can try once he arrives for reference. I have also heard there are some companies who offer eyes with smaller irises.

Thank you! I have a few too many unfinished dolls to be honest so a good long layaway wait is only a good thing since it means I can get other dolls done while waiting for the next one ;) . No problem at all, I'll just have to wait and see and if I get too curious I can always ask Soul Doll about it :)

    8. I really want a cool/punk/troublemaker style. I really like the punk look! So i think a scar or piercings and a fluffy black fur wig will help. ;) i have just recieved his new pants and since i dont even have him yet. Then i dont know if he can for them. The worst thing is their size. Since i don't think i can make punk clothes myself. Haha

    9. I have the vague beginnings of a story in bullet points in my head! xD I really need to start getting things written down, but I haven't written anything for about 6 years so I'm really rusty :aeyepop: I have been working on a set to take photos in for my stories for about 6 months though, hopefully I'll have the remainder of the furniture in the next couple of months and I can get going ;)

Hahaha! I do that ALL the time - notice that there's a sale, bookmark a couple of items to come back to later and then discover the sale has ended.

I was reading reviews and that sums it up exactly, people seemed to love it or hate it. I'll need to read it to decide my position, but I'm now even more excited to see how you portray Gil :)

That would be really cool to see if you attempt to make one. I love seeing the skills other people bring to the hobby! Thank you! They're the defaults Souldoll sent with him, I've never changed his eyes. Sometimes you get lucky with the eyes the company sends, my other vito is wearing his defaults and so is one of my Iplehouse JIDs xD

Haha! Waiting for a new doll is always a good incentive to get the other ones finished, I find myself thinking "You can't justify a new doll if you haven't finished the others yet!" Doesn't stop me though. Several dolls still don't have the right eyes and 3 don't have the proper outfits I want for them. Oops!

Ooohh! That sounds really interesting! Lester has the perfect face for a punk styled doll, I'd love to see how he turns out.
I hear you about the size - they are so tricky to find clothing for. I ended up commissioning outfits for both my boys in the end since I'm not a great seamstress myself ;)

    10. My Lester came in the mail less than an hour ago! I'm so thrilled to have my first doll home! I'm making a mad dash across the internet to find him clothes.

    11. That's really cool! I have about a ton of little bits and pieces and various scenes for stories written down since I never manage to start writing at the beginning and then work towards the end of the story XD

I hope you will be able to complete the set so it will be possible to make the photo stories.

Yeah, it's so typical that the moment you hesitate the sale decides to go away ;) I did however get some really nice fabric to make some parts of the outfit yesterday so that was great and made up for the boots fiasco ;)

I've seen the reviews as well and I respect the negative opinions even if I might feel that the negative critique sometimes missed the point. I got the own copy of the books today so project research starts right now.

I've been checking out various brands for eyes as well and saw that mystic eyes are offering various sizes of iris for their eyes. But since they are so expensive it would be good to have some reference on if they do work for this sculpt or not.

I found the exact measurements for the sword in the book so I just need to calculate which scale the Vito dolls are compared to a real human and then figure out the size for the sword. It will probably take forever but I have a few ideas on ways to make the sword.

That's very cool! It's wonderful when the eyes the company sends work so well for a character :D I've had the worst luck with the default eyes for my Iplehouse dolls with them cracking like crazy which is a shame since I would have loved to try that style of eyes since they have more realistic colours.

I don't mind the wait so much since I feel it provides that opportunity to complete other dolls and also to plan for the new one. And I have to agree on that. A person say "no more dolls for a while" and the next thing you know there is a new order placed ;)

Congratulations! :D That is so wonderful and I'm very happy for you! I hope you will post photos of him as well!

    12. @Paper Stars - Congrats on your Lester! I'm so glad to hear you're happy with him! Looking forward to seeing a picture, too. He will be in good company, as there are a lot of Lesters around here. ;)

Well... I finally got my order from AC that contained Reid's custom-sized pants. I can't say I'm overly impressed. One pair is too big for him and the other pair is too small. :doh The custom-sized pair from M3 Studio is so tight that I can barely close them at all, and can't close them when he sits (which is troublesome because Reid is mostly always sitting). They're also about 2-3cm too short in the legs, which is very disappointing. His dress trousers, by Stacy's Pink Ocean, are too big in the waist and too long in the crotch and slightly too long in the legs, but at least he can sit down in them. On the upside, his biker jacket kicks serious ass, so at least one custom-sized thing came out right.

    13. Congratulations!! That's so exciting! I remember how I felt when my Lester arrived and it's awesome. Post pictures when you're ready!!

    14. Congratulations! I'd love to see him when you're ready to share :D

I'm the same right now. Normally I can sit down and write and write and write from beginning to end but recently I've been developing little scenes in my head and a vague direction I want the story to go in, but I have no idea how I'm going to link everything together xD

So do I! I need to get props sorted out, which are shockingly expensive when you need lots of them :X

Oh that's good! I'm happy you found something at least :) And hooray for getting the books - good luck with your research! I'm really interested in how you're going to make the sword, the only weapon I've ever made is a bow which I designed and had 3d printed xD

I've heard about companies offering smaller irises too, but I can't remember any names right now xD I tend to just stick to the cheaper glass eyes, or acrylic if I'm lucky to get a nice colour. One day I'd like to switch everyone to glass eyes but finding the perfect colour is so tricky :(

That's a shame! As far as I know none of my acrylics have ever cracked, I wonder what caused that?

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that :( Can anything be done with the pair that are too big? Can you do minor alterations or are they just too large to even attempt to fix? It's such a shame when things like that happen - especially to Reid who always looks like he could do with a big hug haha! At least his jacket turned out well, I'd love to see it when he's ready to model it for us ;)

    15. I hadn't read this till today [IMG]
I decided to order several custom-sized items for Edgar (my Vito Lester) from AC today, from Endless (a sweater), M3Studio (a pair of pants) and Another Dimension (a jacket, a shirt and 2 sweaters).
One of the items I chose was out of stock and another one couldn't be custom-sized so I had to change my order... it would be better if they could clearly state which items can be custom-sized and which can not.
Now, after reading this, I'm begging to worry >.< I hope everything fits him or comes big enough so I can fix it.
AC has a great customer service, did you complained to them?
I really wish there were a talented tailor or seamstress that could make fitting clothes for our guys... because this is really frustrating.

By the way, has anyone tried and achieved getting well-fit jointed hands for Vito boys?
I have been measuring the hand of my guy and comparing it to several jointed hands available in the market and some seem close in dimensions but I don't have any idea about resin match.

    16. I know the feeling ;) I'm really good at figuring out endings and key scenes as well as the characters, their motivations and such... but then there's the "small detail" of finding a good start and something to tie the whole thing together into one nice little story told in the proper order XD

Yeah, props tend to be slightly pricey. But then on the other hand I feel that most things in this hobby tend to get a bit on the expensive side after a while. So while it's a lot of fun it tends to make a bit of a dent in the budget.

I'm done with the first book (again... and it was a lot better on a second readthrough too... yay!) and I still don't know which eyecolour I need to get. But I do however have a clearer idea for a proper wardrobe. I figure that since I know the measurements for the full scale sword I ought to be able to calculate how big a miniature one needs to be. I have a few ideas on how to make it but I will need to plan this and see what alternatives that are available. That's really cool! I've never worked in any 3D program but it would be so cool to learn how to do that :)

Yeah, I know there is supposed to be small iris eyes but I might need to search a bit to find them from the look of things. I have to agree about finding the right colour for glass eyes. The theory about the cracked eyes is that it is because of the eyeputty since several other doll owners have also had the same default eyes crack. The other types of acrylic eyes I own have so far never shown any sign of wanting to crack

I'm really sorry the hear the clothes didn't fit as intended :( Have you been able to talk to the store about it and see how the problem can be solved? I do hope things work out for the best.

    17. @SapphireStargazer - that's awful about the custom AC order! I love their clothes and was getting ready to place a custom order for pants myself but I don't think I will. I have a pattern for Vitos for pants and shirts but I've been too lazy to do any sewing lately and was trying to get around that. :( Hopefully AC will make this right!

    18. Huzzah! I love Evan. Easy to carry but a mature sculpt. As for clothes, I'll have to try the Angell Studios clothes. Alice's Collections does custom for certain items. I had a snafu with length the first time, but they sent me replacements that fit great. Some Iple House JID tops fit. Mainly tees with a bit of natural give and knitted wear. The nYID shoes fit his foot.

I so want him in the new tan color....

    19. Thanks for your comments/concerns about the custom-sized clothes, everyone. This is by no means AC's fault; I don't blame them at all. I've decided I'm just going to keep the pants as they are. Even though the dress pants are too big, they still fit better than anything else I've got for him. I'm really most disappointed by the M3 jeans, but I don't think there's anything AC can really do about it. According to Alice, M3 is already difficult to deal with, and I'm not sure I really want to wait another 3-4 months for a second pair of jeans.... They're too short in the legs, but I think it won't be too noticeable if he's wearing boots.

I'm in total love with this leather jacket, though. :aheartbea Also, Reid is trying out a new hairstyle. What do you guys think?

    20. I like the new hair style! The jacket is great.

    21. That jacket is fabulous - and the new hairstyle is great too!

    22. I might have found boots for Gil, maybe. I'm sort of hoping a inside measurement of 8,5cm will work for a 7,5cm foot. But we'll just have to see. The first issue is finding out if the right colour is in stock ;)

He looks amazing! I think the hairstyle really suits him and his jacket i super cool! :D

    23. Thank you @nancy_schroeder_ca and @Hervoyel for the lovely comments on Reid's jacket and his new hair. =)

@JAS101 - Thanks for your comments on Reid's hair and his jacket! Also, that's really good news about potentially finding boots for Gil! Where did you find them? A shoe with an inner length of 8.5cm shouldn't be too big, but it's the width that I've found problematic when trying to find boots/shoes for Reid. A really wide 8.5cm long shoe is going to look huge. Fortunately for me, I have an nYID who can wear any shoes that are slightly too large/wide for Reid. ;)

Reid isn't feeling well today. :( Lucky for him, he's got someone to look after him.
Actually, this is really an excuse for me to show off Reid & Fiona's bed. This bed was handmade by my father, over 30 years ago. It was originally made for my Cabbage Patch Kid dolls. I've tried using it for 1/4 size BJD in the past, but it's really too big for that size and is just out-of-scale enough to look really awkward. It's been in storage for a bit, but it occurred to me the other day that it might work great for Reid and Fiona...and it does. They both fit into it quite comfortably together. ;)

    24. You are most welcome :) He is very beautiful and I would love to learn more about him as a character.

I did end up buying the boots since they were too good to miss out on IF they fit. I found them from a seller on eBay and it looks like they might be the same people who are making these since I've never seen them elsewhere. They look like this http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/BXkAAOSw0vBUjqg6/s-l1600.jpg and from what I read the inner size is 8,5 cm long and 3,4 cm wide. So I really, really hope this will work and look good. I'm trying to pick up all hints in the books concerning how this character dresses and such and so far the details about he boots are well... that hey are boots so I'm making an educated guess with these ;). It is great to have the option to let another doll wear he shoes if they end up being too large. So far my dolls tend to have odd foot sizes so very few shoes bought for one doll will work for any of the other ones :XD:

This is a beautiful photo! And I love the handmade bed, it looks amazing :) It's always a special feeling with items that are handmade by ones parent :)

    25. Those look very nice! Could you post the auction number or the seller Id?

    26. Thank you! I think I may buy a pair!

    27. You are most welcome :) I was really happy when I found them since while I like boots with buckls and cool details and such and would liek a pair of those to I also wanted something more practical looking for Gil.

    28. A bit of news on the layaway. I have actually scraped together the last cash needed to finish my layaway really early. See I'm usually a super patient person and don't actually get impatient as long as I know what's going on with orders. But I have come to realize that I really, really want Gil home as soon as possible... Shock of all shocks, could this be impatient behaviour that has uncharacteristically appeared? ;) So anyway, I figured that instead of taking it a bit slow with the layaway and get other stuff during these months I thought that I would speed things up and only get the absolutely necessary real-life-responsible stuff and complete the layaway.

After all, I can't really start guessing about the amount of the more expensive materials I am going ot need before I have the doll and patterns (which will need to be test fitted with none expensive materials first and so on). I also won't be able to figure out eye size, test if the boots I got will fit or not without the doll. And wigmaking is absolutely out of the question until he gets here.

I've also been doing a bit of research the last few evenings on a few items for him. I'm starting to get a good idea of what I will be going for when it comes to clothes. I'm almost done with the third book (again) and from the look of things so far I will mostly have some guidelines for the outfits and not in-detail descriptions.

I'm also working on ideas for the sword. I have a few ideas on how to make one myself which I will try. But in the middle of this I got a bit of a crazy idea on how to possibly solve the sword issue and make it about a billion times more awesome and cool. Not quite sure if I dare speak the idea out loud actually since it's probably so out there and crazy that someone might actually say it's nuts *joking*. But I have promised myself that if I reach the goal I have set for my studies before summer and things actually work out for me for a change; then I will go through with this idea somehow.

    29. I am also in love with the other soul Vito dolls.n
      I think Han is Pretty.
      Does anyone have him?
      Pictures?!

    30. @JAS101 I bought a pair of boots from Leekeworld with those measurements and they fit pretty darn well! The tops are a bit loose and I'm not brave enough to try and re-tie them. (It's not much string to work with.) But that's okay for me, since my boy tucks his pants into his boots.

Ah, but speaking of Leekeworld. . . they have such beautiful items but I must say I'm a bit dissatisfied with their service. I ordered a wig from them and it came in tge wrong size. I emailed and they said they would exchange it, but I would have to pay return shipping AND the extra 22 dollar shipping cost of the new wig. I basically paid for the same wig twice. . . DX

    31. Thank you so much for letting me know! :) That is great news! Gil will be the kind of guy who also tucks his pants into his boots once he gets here so Leekeworld sounds like a promising option :)

I can fully understand that and I'm sorry such a thing happened to you :( If companies send the wrong item then it should be their responsibility to solve it, not the customers. I'm currently in a similar situation where another store has managed to send the wrong size of pants to me twice by now and the only option to correct it is to buy the same pants a third time.... so by now I'm up at 180$ to get two pairs of (hopefully) fitting pants, and 60$ of shipping for the orders. It should also be noted that I get no replies whatsoever about this issue. I've heard a few horror stories on similar themes from different companies when it comes to the service when something goes wrong. The worst one that I've heard of being where two doll orders got mixed up and the customers were given the choice ot either keep the completely wrong doll which wasn't what they had ordered or return the dolls, pay shipping for that AND shipping to get the right order sent back to them (and that was 70 cm dolls so the EMS cost for that is horrible).

    32. Leeke World

These are the boots I ordered, but in black. I was wrong about them being your exact measurements, but they're off only by a few milimeters so I doubt it would make much difference.

I feel horrible for those poor people you mentioned! I couldn't imagine being in that situation. To have to repay for a messed up order! So sad. . . You know, my boy came in with a pretty big scratch on his shoulder but I didn't feel like sending it back and have to wait any longer. He's tan skin, after all! I wouldn't see him again until June at best. . .

    33. So... I just ordered a Jin.
Usually, I want to see at least a picture of the blank sculpt before ordering a doll, but with him... well, I fell in love.
The kind of love that make you spend with no regrets all the money you had from uncle, aunt and grandma as Christmas gift and almost all your dolly found. (Yes, I have a dolly found. Well, I had. Now it's quite empty.)

I hope I did the right thing. ^^'

    34. I am about to order Jin myself because it was also love at first sight for me when I saw him. I'm getting everything... wig, horns, tattoo, faceup and that's something I never do. I love his look that much. :love Sooo that means I'm spending all my Christmas money and money I had saved but I MUST have him :XD:

    35. The gift clothes were definitely the incentive to get me going and get the money to order. There are so few outfits out there for Vitos and the gift clothes are amazing!! I would have ordered them even if there was no Jin ... But there is and I can't wait to get him! I would love to see pictures of your boy when he's ready.

    37. @SapphireStargazer, I love that bed! Reid looks comfy but I hope he gets well soon. I do not want to be sound like a commercial but I do quilts, mattress and so for doll beds, maybe you want to take a look at my signature because that gorgeous bed needs would look great with a real pillow and some fluffy cushions.

Today I took Edgar out of the glass cabinet for measurement purposes and when I held him and Kerli on my hands, some inspiration simply came. This is the only picture that was saved from deleting, so I thought I could share it with you.
It ended up being a pic with a sad atmosphere, because they love each other but can't be together at this moment so they are not sure if they should even start a relationship. It make me felt really melancholic...

    38. Had a similar problem when I ordered from the AC custom shop. Since there was a misunderstanding and I was sent regular SD tops the first time, I did ask for longer pants on the reorder. Everything the second time fit fine.

I've noticed a shorter hem with pants depending on where they're made. Just a style thing. Now I try to remember to specially ask for longer length

      Hello,
I am so happy to share with you all my Lester. He has been a dream doll of mine since I started the hobby over 6 yrs ago and I'm just elated that I finally have him. His name is Bruce Roux (I hope my pic showed up ok and isn't obnoxious... I haven't really used these forums in yrs, I feel like a newbie) he actually has a twin brother and I can not wait to get my second lester. I love him. He is everything I hopped. โ™กโ™ก
I also feel like collecting all the Vitos because really, I love them all!!
(And they so need some girls! )
I made this quick wig and outfit so he has a little style. I'm not sure I'll stay with this look but I'm totally digging it right now.

Anyways, I just wanted to share this with other people who love these dolls. Thanks for reading. โ™กโ™ก

Edit: I'm not sure the picture linked properly but here he is...http://orig00.deviantart.net/3237/f/2016/025/f/2/20160117_200612_by_catzilerella-d9p980w.jpg

    40. @Catzilerella - Congratulations on getting your Lester!! I love what what you've done with him!!! Love his faceup and clothes! :aheartbea I got my Lester 2 years ago and I still remember how elated I was when he arrived. He's still my favorite. I'm definitely getting another one hopefully in a few months to make twins. :fangirl:

    41. Thank you!!! At first I thought "noo! This is not the look I imagined for you"... but then it grew on me and I kinda love it now.
Ahh twins! I would love to see a picture of them together when you do get them together.
I don't know when I can get my next Lester but it sure would be amazing if it would be sooner rather than later.

    42. Yay! The boots for Gil arrived in my country today so with a little luck I can pick them up tomorrow :D And then I can keep them on my desk as a reminder that I should get some emergency-clothes for him while waiting for my awesome new doll :D

Congratulations! He looks very cool and I like his style! Very cool hair and makeup! :D

    43. @Catzilerella-you're welcome! I really like his look. I had hoped to get a sandy skin Lester on layaway next month but they're selling a new limited 52cm boy starting Feb 1 and I really want him!! Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do!

    44. Is anyone else in love with Azrael? I wasn't planning on getting anymore doll stuff until March, but I might have to get him. :D

    45. Yes. I am considering the options! I wasn't planning on another doll now either!

    46. Me too. I really really like Azrael! Wasn't planning on another doll since I have Jin coming but I don't think I can resist.

    47. I wasn't planning on another doll either, but Souldoll seems to like making all the ones I've been liking limited. xP At this rate, my poor Dane head will never get a body! But they've been doing really wonderful noses on their more recent sculpts. (I have a really weird thing for noses...)

I did give my newest guy some attention recently and he's starting to come together. ^^ This is Maksim, my Berial:

      Maksim got a haircut...
      by Quirked, on Flickr

I'd made his wig right after he arrived home in June of last year, but I finally gave him a haircut earlier this week. I've got some new eyes on order for him, since the Makos I got for him are a bit too big for my tastes. I just need to make him and my other Vito boy, Kido (Amon human version) some of their own clothes and they'll be set. :)

    48. Maksim is wonderful! Did you do his faceup?

    49. Thank you! His faceup is by AngelToast. :) I'm very surprised (but pleased!) that he came out so cute. I wasn't expecting him to end up being this cute! :o

    50. @Quirked Maksim looks so cutE!! I totally dig his hair. Nice hair cut!!

    51. Yay! My custom-sized items from AC came today!
The M3Studio pants are 1cm short but isn't really noticeable as I won't photograph his full body, the hoodie from Endless has the biggest hood I have ever seen, and the shirt from Another Dimension has a too big collar but besides that, is a perfect fit!
I'll sure will order more custom-sized stuff when I can.
Here you have a pic of my gorgeous guy with some of his new clothes! (Sorry, mobile pic, I didn't have too much light either)

    52. Hello everyone! I'm going to be getting an Azrael in grey skin. I put in my order on Friday <3 I'm so excited!

    53. I'm still debating Azrael but the grey skin looks awesome! Did you get a faceup or are you doing it yourself?

    54. I'm going to do it myself :) I always wanted a Vito for this character, first a Lester, then a Jang but he is supposed to be a zombie and a counterpoint to my brightly coloured MSD so the combo of grey skin and skull head was irresistible!

    55. Oh! The skull head will make a perfect zombie!

    56. Yeah, I'm so excited and it'll be fun to have a more human version and zombie version! He's going to be my first big doll, all I have so far are a slim MSD and three little ones. I got him with the H body, are there any posing differences, or is it mostly just the visual appearances of the joints?

    57. Hi everyone! Finally coming out of lurkdom to say I've ordered a Vito. I've wanted one ever since they first appeared, but the lack of clothing for that size stopped me. There still doesn't appear to be much clothing out there, but I have other odd sizes and I sew, so I know it's not the end of the world if he's different. I ordered Jin, whom I will paint myself. It's a bit of a crap shoot when they don't provide photos of the blank sculpt. They don't show a profile, either, so fingers crossed he doesn't have a ski jump nose. And I just couldn't live with that black line SD paints across the mouth and into the corners.

He'll be paired with a Dolllmore Zaoll Luv, who is also on order. Now the waiting begins...

@Nyxy I don't know if this is an actual posing difference, but it looks like the S body can sit back on its heels. I don't know if the H body can, but if so SD didn't provide a photo.

      @vermont chick

Hi there and welcome to the Vito room.
Also for @Nyxy I have both kinds of bodies and have not really noticed a difference in posing abilities. Personally I DO however think that the 'shown' body knee joints make pants fabric look a lot nicer than the hidden ones. With the S one the bent knee appears round, as it should, while with the hidden ones the knee is edgy. Similar for the ellbows. The S one is better visually when covered up, the hidden one when showing 'skin' ;P

      Jin looks incredible :D
You have a near complete side-view of him at the very bottom of the pic-mania. It's the third one from bottom up ;3 So I'd say it's save to assume ther eis no danger in the ski jump nose department.

As for clothes... I usually make the clothes myself, or in Edmunds case have his original cllothing. I do know however that SD13 tops and bottoms and shoes tend work. In case of pants you need to shorten them.
I originally had a Souldoll Double boy and their chests / shoulders and top lenght was near identical. I think they also had similar hips with the double just a cenimeter or two thicker. Only the legs and arms were clearly shorter.
As for shoes... SD13 tends to variate largly in shoe lenght. I had perfects fits and ones that were too big. Those usually were however also to big on my SD13 boys.
      Hope that helped somewhat.

@Nyxy I recognize your Avatar! I just recently commented on the incredible work on FB :D
If you need any size comparisson pics, I might be able to help out :3
What are you going to do with the human head, if you don't mind me asking? Maybe see if he fits Resinsoul's Sui body and have it cast in grey as well? :3
