Woot on our second thread! Go Vitos! Here's some older spam of my Lester to celebrate I'm still holding out for Souldoll to make a vito girl soon.

Personally, I'm holding out for Souldoll to invest in more clothes and shoes for our boys! I'm having a nightmare of a time clothing Kalmin >.<

 

Thanks. I'm so with you on the clothes and shoes! I got lucky and SD sent me a pair of converse looking sneakers with my boy so he has shoes but trying to find clothes that fit (you know, properly and well) is just a hot mess. I hate having to gamble on clothes.

 

Oohh, lucky you! I discovered that Leeke's "G" shoe range (L-Girl tab) fit our boys well. Anything with a foot length measurement of 9cm or less looks good And 5Stardoll's boys have the same feet size as the Vito line, so their shoes fit too!
I've not had the courage to take a gamble on clothing yet, haha! I've commissioned Kalmin's main outfit, but that's the only clothing he has! I would love to be able to find some basic shirts and pants etc to fit him. Have you had any luck with your gambles?

Well I'm not greatly useful unfortunately, my boys pants I got second hand off the MP, the seller couldn't remember where they were from was selling them because they were too short for her delf boy, so I don't know. I've heard that some Dollmore SD stuff fits, possibly JID stuff from Iplehouse. I don't know though, I haven't tried it. I can't even remember where I got his shirt.

I've tried on some of the JID boy stuff I own on Kalmin, but it's all far too short in the torso and leg area. The tops also looks slightly distorted because Vito chests are broader than JID chests, so I prefer not to use them

I also found 4 discontinued Vito outfits on The Doll Peddlar, not sure if any of them fit the character I have for my boy, but more clothes is always good... Haha!

I just place an order for Souldoll Vito Lester on the 23 bahhh it'll take about 9 more weeks for him to get here. ): Dyou know of any stores that we for sure know sell clothes that fit him? I heard Volks did or something but they didn't have clothes measurements when i checked. Maybe i missed it. :S

 

SD10 sized Volks outfits usually fit, as do clothes from most companies whose SD-sized dolls are on the short end (in the 55-60cm range rather than being just over 60). I've had good luck with Angell-Studio's 60-cm clothing line as well (the bottoms are a little long, but aside from that they fit well).

If you sew, there's a seller on Etsy who sells Vito-size patterns as well.

I get so frustrated with cloths, just shopping around is frustrating for me and it doesn't help that I'm new to this hobby. I have close to no idea what the size differences all mean. I'm looking at some pants for SD13 dolls, thinking about taking the plunge. But till then I've been making my own cloths for him.

I tried both 6-7 and 7-8 wigs on my boy annapavot 6-7 was just slightly too tight, so I opted for a 7-8 wig with a silicon cap underneath ^^

 

I have a 7-8 size wig on my boy right now and it's a little loose which is bothersome because of his hair style. I have not tried a smaller size but I bet it depend on what kind of wig you are getting as well. Mine is a mohair, it's made of fabric which tends to slide easily too. I also have a synthetic fiber 7-8 wig from souldoll which fits perfectly.

Also i've been trying to find clothes for him, I know it's going to be a huge challenge, but I was looking at Dollmore "model doll man size" clothes, and the measurements aren't that different. I mean I haven't checked pants yet but the shirts seem like they might just fit.

I think those would be far too long on our boys, sadly The Model boys from Dollmore are 71cm tall, with a leg length of 38cm - leaving 33cm for the head and torso measurement. Our boys are 52cm tall with a leg measurement of about 30cm - leaving just 22cm for the head and torso measurement. 11cm difference in length is quite a lot on dolls, so I think the shirts would end up reaching our boys' knees xD

 

You think the shirts would look weird? :S 'cause i knew the pants wouldn't.

sd13 girl sizes. there's a compairason picture of the sd13boy size and sd13 girl size. (i'm eyeballing, I have no clue what the actual size is I can't find measurements on that site)
I'm assuming the girl sd13 sizes would fit much better than the boys.

 

Oohhh... Those might work.. I've been looking at the SD13 boy clothes on that site, never occurred to me to look in the girl section xD I think Nine9 said they make their clothes to fit Volks dolls somewhere? I can't quite remember lol!

 

My Lester is in a 7/8 at the moment but he fits well into Monique (Jpop) 6/7 wigs.

As other people have said, the DM model dolls are huge, so a Vito would be swimming in their clothes (even a standard SD-size would be swimming in them) - but if you like any of their styles, Dollmore usually have the same items in their SD-size (called "Adam", but I think they list the clothes under "SD" as well), which the Vitos can wear if you're not looking for a fitted look. Those clothes will be a bit baggy and just a little too long in the arms and legs, but workable.

It's funny because if you do a size comparison our boys are pretty similar but at the same time not. Here is a size comparison
These are Lesters top measurements;
Shoulder width(including arm) : 13.3 cm
Chest : 23.5 cm
Waist : 17.5 cm
Compared to a 71 cm Dollmore Male (Doll M-S Kyle)
Shoulder Width: 16cm
Chest: 26.8cm
Waist: 19.5cm

The problem is with height and well the fact that they are a bit bigger anyway. Like ImpishParody said, they would be wayy long on our vito sized boys. If you read the fine print I like that Dollmore tells you what doll is modeling the clothing. (some of them are in the 57cm range and might fit a bit better.) Alllll the research -flails-

 

Seda Yeah, I gave up on dollmore clothes, there's always sooooo much stuff it's kind of overwhelming. :P i'm now trying to figure out if the nine9style and ttyadoll sd13 stuff would work. :P (but i'm looking at the girl stuff) if it's baggy enough i feel like it should be good. :S

 

I'm going to try some nine9style SD13 pants, I'll let you know how they fit when they get here.

 

Oh goodie! I just ordered my vito lester a couple of weeks ago so he still has a WHILE before he gets here. So i'm getting all my questioning and wondering about his clothes out of the way now while I wait. :P

 

The rough guide for clothes fit: Vitos are SD13 (boys) in the bottom half, larger MSD in the top. I'd be curious to try SD13 girls tops on Evan, though the way he is I don't know how much variety I'd find. The pants will be a little long, and the waist needs to be taken in, but they're thighs are so think overall the pants fit fine. I say larger MSD -- as in thicker -- 'cause Iple JID tops fit all that muscle perfectly. I've been a litle leery of trying regular MSD, but I may give some inexpensive tops a shot.

Shoes-wise, they have the widest feet. So SD shoes for the width, but look for shorter lengths. As for wigs, I don't know if the new Vito sculpts really do have more rounded heads, they look that way in pictures, but the Lester sculpt's head is sorta oblong, which I think is why the wig fit can be interesting. I find wigs fit best centered to his head cap. So far it's been all 6/7, or MSD.

 

I found some sd10 stuff in m3bjd.com and looked up the measurements of sd10 and they're almost perfect.

I'm pretty most of this stuff would fit. And sd13 pants do fit? Oh good! I can't sew pants for crap. Little tee shirts no problem, but pants OMG no. :P So i'm glad I can get some from ttya or nine9style for those. I'm in love with those stores.

 

If I could add a cautionary note to this - my Vito can only share a handful of tops with my JID: outerwear (my Rouse is wearing a JID-size coat on page 1 of this thread) without the inner layer and sleeveless tops - anything that's meant to fit snugly on the JID is much too tight on the Vito. I have an Illusion Spirit mini (which is 47cm, so taller than a standard MSD, but similarly built) and his clothes are virtually all too small for both the JID and the Vito.

Honestly, the best size for clothes sharing for these guys is with the Soom ID51 guys - those guys are a tiny bit broader and just 1cm shorter, so they share clothes with the best degree of reliability.

 

i figured idealian 51 would be the ideal size and maybe im just the biggest noob but i cant seem to figure out where to buy his size clothing...

I don't disagree on both counts. Seems like anytime you're trying to fit across doll sizes, knit items or thigns with some give work best. Woven items like button down shirts, jackets, not so much.

I'd love to get some ID51 clothes ... but they're so rarely in stock. Specifically to my boy, they're often not really his style. :/ Neither are most of the Soulddoll clothes (which I really, really wish they sold as seperates). But yeah, if your Vito likes those clothes, grab 'em when you see 'em!

Some SD13 for slim boys are close in shoulder with, but not much else. Chest, waist too small, arms too long. Girl SD13 may work, but the big challenge with that is finding things that are so girly. Will check the SD10 stuff.

poor guy's only got a wig, and I still need to get up the nerve to paint him black and give him a faceup

I know Sadol will take custom measurements. I think Freedom Teller does, too, but I don't know if they'd be willing to take an SD13 outfit down to a Vito size, so ask them first.

My SD13 pants arrived. For someone handy with sewing it's an easy adjustment on the hips to make them fit better. I love how they frame his legs. Oh yes!

Edit: Also, I just looked at the original pictures on nin9style, I actually REALLY like yours turned out much better than the way they have it worn. :P

I've found that Leeke shoes from the L-Girl range work well. Anything with a length of about 8.5cm looks good. 5Stardoll's boys also have the same size feet as Vitos, so their shoes fit too

and this is how I did it...
You are seeing the pants inside-out. (digitally) I painted over in red the original seam. The white is what I did to alter them really easy straight stitch. I took them in maybe a cm or so and brought them higher into the crotch where the blue marks my stopping point. You have to be careful with these pants because they are flat... unlike human cloths they don't form well around the butt. (Which I've realized our boys have more of than I'd previously thought hahaha) Hope this helps I'm not very good at giving instructions and pretty much tried winging this anyway. ^^

Seda - Thanks for the pic, very helpful I see what you did, there was nothing overly complicated like unpicking seams and restitching, creating darts or anything, just a simple straight stitch a little further into the fabric than the original?

 

Yep that's it... I could have gotten more complicated but I was lazy X_X
