Souldoll Vito (50cm) Discussion - Oh Yes!!! Part 2

My Elan is currently wearing a pair of Luts Delf jeans. They're a bit too big but not hopelessly so. Here:



I have used a ribbon at the back (looped through two belt loops) to pull the waist in a little and obviously, I've folded up the bottom. (on the plus side... there is enough room for his butt that he can sit in them!) The top is a Iplehouse YID top. Again, a bit too big but not hopelessly so.

 

I just purchased my very first bjd!!

He's a vito Lester in sandy skin, what a handsome guy~

can anyone tell me the best places to find clothes for him?

 

Congratulations! I love Lester, and the new sandy skin looks gorgeous. You /must/ post pictures as soon as he comes.
As far as clothing goes, Sadol and Freedom Teller makes tailor-made clothing, just put the doll's measurements in the comments section at checkout and then (just to double check) leave them a comment on the message boards.
Also, I have something punkish and leather that was made by Souldoll. It doesn't suit his character, so if it interests you~

I definitely will! I'm buying by boyfriend a camera for Christmas, so he'll be my doll photographer~ oh man, those clothes look so nice!! While my boy would wear a coat with that high a collar, I'm afraid the overall design wouldn't fit him either. I think custom-made is the way to go.

I was planning to put a sandy brown lester on layaway in the next couple of weeks to be a twin with my NS Lester but then the Souldoll winter event happened. I saw Vito Jin and fell in love instantly. I think he's just stunning. Of course now I have to figure out how to pay in full during the event so I can get the gift clothes free.

Would true SD10 pants be too small for Vitos? I've been doing a little research and I've found that true SD10 and SD13 are basically the same size from the waist down. I can't find anything about the leg width, though, and I expect SD10 legs to be thinner. . . I guess what I'm really trying to find out is what I should search for and ask about in the secondhand marketplace.

 

I love the event clothes! I wish Souldoll would offer more clothes for the Vito boys. And congrats on ordering Lester in sandy skin. I hope they're still offering that option after I pay off Jin because he's stunning.

 

I've found SD10 clothes to be some of the best fits for Vitos, so in my experience they're perfect.

My go-to for sizing is the DOA wiki > Dollmakers, comparing the measurements of dolls for how clothes might fit.

 

Yeah, I was looking at that for the sizing difference between SD10 and SD13! Super helpful. I just wasn't sure if Vito legs were beefier than Super Dollfie's legs, since they appear so skinny. I'm not looking for tight pants, but I know a few centimeters make all the difference.

 

Hello guys im new here. I am a big fan of vitos. Currently a vito Edmund lives with me and im waiting on a vito Dane head in white skin. Im kind of waiting to see him in person before actually buying a body for him. And although i absolutely love the vito body, I am kind of reluctant of giving him that exact body too. But finding something "similar" has proven to be impossible so far. So, who knows. Maybe I will just get him the vito body if I likethe face. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you awesome members had ordered a vito in sandy brown skin. I had no money left or otherwise I would have gotten one myself. Does anyone have pics?

Same here. I'm paying off 2 dolls already. This hobby is so addictive. And with Christmas specials it all becomes so much worse because you find you can buy the limited edition from this day to that day, but you are already buying some other special edition from another company and it makes you want to kick yourself. But still, those tanned vitos had a one month delivery guarantee and I thought maybe someone wanted to show off their new boys on this thread.

 

I've been eyeing that new souldoll Jin, I'd like to put out a request that if someone gets him they share photos. Especialy if they cet him without a faceup, there aren't any of the blank face sculpt on the site.

 

Sandy skin Lester is on my list but he got pushed back to get Jin. Love at first sight when I saw him and those gift clothes are amazing! I also have a Vito Dane head that I'll probably end up buying a Vito body for after all this. He looks great on an MSD body but I prefer Vito or larger dolls.

Has anyone got jointed hands on their vito? I want them for mine, but it sounds like msd hands would be hilariously small, and I worry that sd would be too big.

 

I dont but I think it depends on the company you get the hands from if they are big or small. I have a luts kid delf and though they are not as realistic as the souldoll hands, size wise they are not that off. Maybe dollmore Adam's hands?

 

I actually bought jointed hands in MSD size through Mint On Card. They were called [IS jointed hands for 1/4 doll] so I'm guessing that's Island Soul. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they are for sale through MOC anymore, but that's really unimportant because they aren't a good match. The IS normal is yellow, where SoulDoll's is pink. The hands are actually too big. Vito hands are long, thin, and delicate. Even in MSD size, the IS jointed hands looked like ballooned latex gloves compared to Vito hands. The IS ball joint is also too big.
Mind you, this was three years ago that I bought them so there may be better techniques for making such small jointed pieces. I know DollChateau makes some beautiful slender jointed hands now. Though each digit is not jointed, this actually maintains the slender appearance of the hand. I don't know how those would compare to Vito hands.

Reid is wearing a Monique wig, which I got from a Monique dealer's eBay store. It's a "Ginger" and it's size 6-7. He's also wearing a silicone wig cap underneath to keep it from slipping.

I seriously think his stock pictures did not do him any justice whatsoever. I will try taking some pics and posting them here for reference in case anyone is curious. I am definitely loving his head, the only problem is, he definitely is a bit smaller that a regular vito head. And so I kind of want to put him on a kid NL body., for his features are soooo delicate I fear the vito body looks too big for him. I sure could use your opinion when I post the pics. thanks

You can also get Monique wigs from Facets by Marcia - Fashion Doll Jewelry and Accessories and directly from Monique Trading Co. Monique wigs take a while to ship directly from Monique Trading Co., but the upside is that you can get any of their styles whereas a dealer might not have everything.

To post a picture, your image has to be uploaded somewhere (ImageShack, Flickr, etc.) Click on the image button, and then pazted the URL of your picture into the box and click the "Insert" button. If your images are on Flickr, there's also a sharing feature on Flickr that allows you to "get BBCode" which you can then just paste into your message here.

Congrats on getting your Dane! I've gotten wigs for my Vitos from Blueblood Doll, eBay seller beachgirlnikita and I've gotten leekeworld wigs through Denver doll emporium. My Lester and Sharics both wear size 7/8 but Dane is smaller. He wears a size 6 wig from Blue fairy. And you're right about Dane he has much finer features than the other Vitos. My Dane ended up looking a little feminine lol. It's not as gray here as it has been today so I'm going to try some pictures of Dane on the Vito body if you're still interested. P.s. did you get the faceup from Souldoll on your Dane? Just wondering- I did my own so I was interested in seeing pics of the default faceup if anyone has any.

I dont have an instagram account, nor flikr so I will be getting around to opening one today to be able to post some pics. Maybe tonight. Thank you so much for teaching me how to operate this platform, Im obviously new. And ashcat-desu, I did actually get the face up from the company. Thats why it took so darn long for it to get to me, but honestly it was well worth it. I understand not many people liked the company face up on Dane's head, but I actually did. kind of remainds me of an ice cold Draco Malfoy, but with an amiable, peaceful expression. I definitely do not regret getting him. But as I said, I dont have a body for him (new year proyect) and I'm tempted to buy a kid NL body for him from souldoll. I do have the vito body in my possesion ( I own a handsome Edmund as well) but I kind of think it looks too big in a bulky sort of way for him. I dont suppose you have a kid NL body to set his head on for a pic, do you ashcat-desu? ( praying praying praying you do)

 

@Elizabeth Maldonado it's no problem! I'm glad to help. As for putting Dane on a NL body, as long as the neck size is reasonably compatible, it should work. All the Vito heads are small enough that the wouldn't look out of place on most 1/4 (MSD) size bodies. I've seen Vitos on 1/4 bodies before, and they looked okay to me.


I got my Lully back in July, and I was finally able to send him off for a faceup. Just got him back from the artist a few days ago. So, here's a pic of Reid with little Rowan. (Note the family resemblance lol)

@elizabethMoldonado- I wasn't crazy about the Dane default faceup but I've since warmed up to it. I look forward to seeing pictures whenever you post them! Unfortunately I don't have a NL body. I've got my Dane on a 43cm resinsoul body which I think looks in proportion. The more I think about I might just save myself some money and stick with the MSD. I don't have any standing photos but here's a link to a couple pics of my boy sitting, just to give you an idea of size.

Oh wow beautiful picture.I love the expression on your Lester. What a unique customization. He looks really different from the stock pictures. Much more caring and loving. And I do love Rowan. Matching freckles. You are a great face up artist. Is Rowan Reid's son?

And ashcat-desu, here are the promised pics. I'm no photography artist but I was just trying to capture the diference in head size between the two boys. It's really not THAT evident, but there is a diference. And by the way I love what you did with your Dane, trully his features can certainly make him look like either a boy or a girl.

@Elizabeth Maldonado, yes Rowan is indeed Reid's son. Thank you for the lovely compliment for their faceups, but I can't take credit as I didn't paint them myself. They were painted by two different people, but each a dear friend of mine. My "art" skill is photography, not painting I'm afraid. I did make all Reid's jewelry though, and I modified his wheelchair myself.

(also, you probably already know this, but it's against DoA's rules to post numerous pictures one after the other in discussion threads. You can post multiple pictures in the Souldoll Large Dolls Photo Sharing Thread. The mods will probably delete double-posts or triple-posts...or quadruple-posts lol)

@Elizabeth Maldonado - I love the faceup on Dane! The pictures on Souldoll's website are covered a lot by the wig they have on the doll. I love his eyebrows! Makes me want to redo mine. But that will have to wait. I think you could go either way with a body but the smaller one would probably look best.

Thank you so much! I finnished reading a fantasy book series a few days ago and got very fond of the main character. So when I found some photos of Lester I felt he had the right look for what I imagine this character might look like, and now I'm in the waiting room *grin* . I ordered him in normal skin since I think that will work best for the character. I'm so happy to hear you love your boys because that is the absolute best feeling to have for ones dolls and it's very comforting for me to know after just having sent my order I'm sorry to hear you photos got erased but it is good it was possible to solve the issue by having them on flickr instead

 

@JAS101 Congratulations on ordering your Lester! To me his pictures didn't do him justice compared to how beautiful he is in person. I love all my dolls but he has been my absolute favorite since the day i got him. I hope to order another in sandy skin soon in case they discontinue it.

 

Out of curiosity and a lack of knowledge about this size of doll. I'm going to need to get boots for my new boy and I'm looking for something close (preferably identical ) to this look BJD Black Leather Boots Shoes 70S-0011 for 70cm Ball-jointed doll_70cm DOLL_70cm DOLL_SHOES_Ball Jointed Dolls (BJD) company-Legenddoll in dark brown or preferably black that would fit Gil (my Lester).

I would be most grateful for ideas on stores where I can look for shoes/boots that fit since I'm convinced boots for 70cm dolls with 8,3cm feet will be waaaaay too big

I have never seen this doll in real life but he looks amazing in the owner photos and videos I've seen . I hope you will be able to get one more in sandy skin! For what it's worth, I think MoC's IS hands were actually Illusion Spirit's - they're still available from IS direct, although as you say, they're big (I have an IS mini, and his hands are huge blocky things).

 

JAS101 I am certain you will love the vitos. I really can not get enough of mine. I am excitedly waiting to pay off a couple of
Layaways to be able to order my dane a body but I know I want to complete him for certain. They are such a perfect size for cuddling and transporting and posing and hugging. I only have 7 dolls in my collection and 2 of them are vitos. By the way guys, merry Christmas

 

@JAS101 - I haven't ordered any boots for my Vitos but I've gotten several pairs of shoes through Alice's Collections in the 1/3 size and they fit great. It says the outside length measures 8.5cm so the inside is a little smaller. It's possible they run small because I bought a similar size pair of shoes from souldoll and they look like clown feet on my Lester.

 

I'm absolutely sure I will love him when he arrives This project will involve making most of the items for him by hand so it's will be a really good way to get to know my new doll. I have several 70cm dolls and I really wanted a smaller one for this character. Not sure why but it just felt like it would be great with someone a little smaller. It's wonderful to hear they are so well liked! I did spend quite some time searching on Youtube and making picture searches and from what I can see these guys pose incredibly well

Thank you so much for the help! I will be sure to take a look and see what I can find for him. I was a little surprised that I couldn't find shoes for him on Soul Dolls website since I usually try to get at least one pair from the company who makes the doll to be on the safe side when it comes to the size. I've had the "clown-feet" issue with several off my MSD sized shoes so I fully understand the frustration about that. I will keep looking and hopefully I will find something that fits
