@Mandagore I don't know about cracks, because it needs a bit of itself to be durable...but I've made neck donuts with it and it's held up like a champ.

Perhaps a good start would be to just cut off a tiny section of the end of the arm with a very fine saw or even a knife. Turn that around and you have a color and size matched half dome for the wrist ball. Then use a spherical bit to smooth the end of the arm into a concave surface to accept the wrist ball.

Worth looking at since you're going to have to remove the spherical portion of the end of the arm anyway.

 

Hello! Finally after 2 years of saving I'm placing an order for YeonSoo
I was wondering if anyone has ordered the new hand options they recently released? I'm wondering if they are worth buying, as this will be my first doll. How often do you guys change your dolls' hands or wish you could change them?

 

Was working on my Jordan when I had to stop and admire the beautiful leg sculpting. Still haven't tried any of the modding yet because of dealing with virtual school and just wanting to finish the wig before I start going at things.

@glaen I don’t know about Souldoll’s extra hand parts, but with other dolls I have, I always appreciate having extras in different poses to play with. Honestly wish more doll makers invested more in making extra hand parts for their dolls. I only learned last year that Asleep Eidolon made new hand options for their minis and got them in the mail earlier this year and lawrdy, what a difference it makes from the old default ones my girl had! I usually stick to my favorite poses most of the time on my dolls, but change them out quite a bit whenever it’s photo spam time.

Anyway, here’s Shin in his new sweater and a pair of socks from one of the outfit sets I got in earlier this week from Souldoll.



Can you believe I only am now realizing all of my Kid sculpts are hybrids (my Bonnie here on a Dream Valley body, Gana on Bimong body, and Joelle on Luts MDF body)? And then the one Souldoll Kid body I have had a Unoa Elder Zest head on it until a recent upgrade (he’s a full Elder now and now I have an extra doll I will eventually need to sell thanks to a friend’s unintentional enabling lmao).

 

I am I LOVE ventilating wigs. Jordan's wig at the moment is my break from commissions that I have for them. It's just really relaxing to work on.

 

That’s awesome! They seem like real time sinks to make, but i imagine it’s definitely worth it in the end for more realistic hairlines and having more options with styling them in updos and whatnot. Definitely look forward to what the wig looks like once its finished on your doll.

Congratulations with your first doll! She is very beautiful and tender ^^ I ordered a body from Souldoll for my Yeonbee head in the beginning of september and just one week after they released new hands for msd. Personally I love playing with extra hands to give my dolls more "expressiveness" on photos and I can say that it's a really good idea to use them and 20$ just worth it. Even one pair of hands will give you more possibilities and interesting photo ideas I agree with @Singull that it can be cool if more companies do extra hands and even feets for their dolls. If someone is interested I can share some photos of Souldoll's hands but I have no idea when I'll receive them ^^'

 

Hey does anyone know if there are jointed hands that fit the kids line? I have Rudy girl version on layaway and was considering getting her some jointed hands but the official website doesn't have them and they have pretty limited hands for that size girl. Do the boy hands look that different? and is there any other brands that have hands that would fit and look nice on rudy?

Is anyone participating in this month's Sandy Brown event? I am debating on it but want to know if it'll be a resin match for old Fairyland. I am considering the new Soul Kind Girl body.

 

@PaeoniaDrop are we sure there IS going to be a sandy brown event this month? I dd not see the confirmation anywhere, but your post pretty much paused me in ordering Hari in normal just now...

I see... No worries. I see the heads are not supposed to be limited (at least for now) based on their sales page, so I'm really hoping they will be eventually available in a different colour too. I really like their milk cocoa skin, and would be interested in trying out the sandy brown eventually as well...

 

Oh I have not seen their milk cocoa skin. It already sounds so pretty. I am in love with the way their bodies pose and move.

I have Lavi in that colour, and in person it is like a taupe colour, with slight rose tint (which mellowed slightly over years). Very beautiful shade. Sadly, this little one is going to wait longer for styling, as I don't have her concept finalized yet...

 

@Sollnvictus She is so beautiful. I am definitely a fan. I love how warm it is and that rose tint. Sandy brown definitely has more sand and yellow undertones.

 

Is anyone planning on ordering a girl in the new neutral tan skin color event they just announced? The Juno looks absolutely stunning in that shade, and it kinda makes me sad that I have a NS one on order already instead. lol. I’m trying to decide if I want to try to get a Finley, Milk Way, or Willow. Hmmmm...

 

Yeah, I'm thinking of ordering Hari in tan. Thanks to @PaeoniaDrop I halted my order for NS Hari, so could make it work money-wise... I was originally hoping for her in Sandy once the idea came in, but I will try darkening her skin in my concept pic for her to see if the tan would still work...

 

Have they released neutral tan before? I tried searching for a resin comparison to other brands, but mostly found SoulDoll NS.

 

I think this is their first time releasing it. Imo, Sandy brown is one of the lightest tan shades you can get from any company. I was actually a little disappointed by how light it was when I got my original Juno in 2018. I’m glad this resin tone is a bit darker.

My Finley just arrived today, she's the first doll I've gotten from Souldoll and wow she's just as gorgeous in person. I'm gonna be dyeing her so fingers crossed it goes well

 

Oooooh nice! What colour are you planning on dyeing her? I dyed recently souldoll hands with dyemore and they dyed pretty evenly, so hope your project will go well too!

BTW the new event and resin colour - I wonder if they made this slightly darker tone because they had received a substantial amount of complaints about the sandy looking lighter than in the pictures...

 

Ugggh I've got too many incoming dolls already (and yet none of them at home yet lol), but Juno in the neutral tan is probably going to end up on my list. I actually loooove the sandy brown, I have a Hunoi head on the NL Girl body and a Shaun with NL Boy body, both in sandy brown. The brown when I got them in like 2012 was pretty close to the images. (theyve mellowed some and are less red now), so I don't know if the newer implementations are lighter. I'm really interested to get the new kids double girl body and compare to my old Liddell and the NL girl.

 

In case anyone is interested, Alice's Collection will order the body only for neutral tan if anyone is looking for a hybrid.

All that talk about the Soulkids, and thinking ordering a new one (I'm going to give myself few weeks to think about it first, just to avoid impulse-buying that tan Hari) made me do a temporary faceup and a quick "transformer" dress for my Lavi, just so she is not sitting naked all the time, which made me feel super guilty

 

I also have Shaun in Sandy brown. Was curious if you found a good fitting wig for him. For some reason I’m struggling to find him a good wig that looks right on his head. What size did you go with or do you have any suggestions?

I got my Shaun in roughly 2018 and I was definitely surprised by how light the tan was when it arrived. Was much lighter than the pictures. I thought he would be closer in color to my dollzone tan boys, but he was a lot lighter and more yellow in color. I still like it. It seems like an olive skin tone almost. But if you were hoping for the darkness of the pictures, it is not even close to the images. However I also ordered a Vito-limited edition Paw around the same time and his Sandy brown color was darker and pretty similar to the dark tan color my limited-the epic-Souldoll Robb is. He is much older and I bought him secondhand. Seems the limited edition ones all got the darker tan color and the regular edition dolls are struggling to get the Sandy brown color. I’m tempted to order a doll in the new color to try it out and see. Would be curious to see how it compares. But I have three dolls all in different heights from the same company and they claim to all be Sandy brown, but they all are different shades of resin. Perhaps this new shade is their attempt at getting a consistent shade of tan.

 

Seeing how similar this shade is to the Sandy Brown, you are very likely correct. It's difficult to tell from the photos only, but I wonder if perhaps the shade is going to be close-ish to the iplehouse real skin... but I guess we won't know until the dolls from this preorder would actually be shipped out.

 

@Meggethann I think the wig I got for him was a leekworld wig in 6-7? but I ended up putting some velcro on his head to keep it on.

Honestly, I'm not partial about it since the character I have is genderfluid so opinions on either would be nice

 

@charleyse I'm not sure which aspects in particular interest you the most, but I do have picture references that might be of use for the girl body. I haven't found any reviews or owner pictures of the boy body yet, but I plan to purchase one and do a review whenever Souldoll does a sandy brown order period for it.

@charleyse I don't know whether or not you have seen it so I hope it isn't a bother for me to mention it, but Souldoll has updated pictures of the minor changes on the sales page for the girl body with some basic demonstration of what difference it makes! In general it's an improvement to an already good poser, plus the new default hands are way better

I have to say, they are a bit of a hassle to find clothes for since they are so big for 1/4 scale.

 

They definitely can't wear slim msd pants... Dem thighs are thicc.

 

For y’all with the newer style of the Kid girls, it seems like their measurements are comparable with Harucasting’s mini ladies, so you could likely fit standard MSD bottoms on them, possibly tight and stretchy JID girl bottoms too (like leggings and stuff). Definitely something to try out! I totally know the pain of looking for bottoms for these big booty ladies that are getting more popular these days. Got a Harucasting Maji and DoD Roze Heln myself.

 

When did souldoll make new bodies? When I bought Juno two years ago the body was new, has there been a new one since then ?

 

No, it is the same body, although it has new default hands and minor engineering tweaks.

 

Fair enough, she’s a lot bigger then my other 1/4 girls which are resinsoul, MiniFee and withdoll. Legs for days baby! At least she has the same foot size which was a relief since I don’t own a lot of shoes to begin with.

 

3 out of 4 of this dolls are Souldolls (well, at least the heads are).

Thank you and yes it does! ♥ Honestly, I was expecting something less impressive. Of course, like many people, I doubted all the time that I was waiting for my order. But when I opened the box, the dress reflected me with its size! It's very "big", to be honest, in this skirt my doll doesn't reach the floor with her feet haha At first it even seemed to me that my doll was too small in this dress. But I've never had an outfit for a doll like this, so it was only a first impression. Now I'm okay with its size and this outfit is just insanely cool!

yes it's so weird because he looks so nice but noone posted any pictures! I think I will follow your steps and listen to my instincts and order him anyway, then we can share pictures sometimes next year :P I'm sure our dolls will be pretty nonetheless
