SoulDoll mini dolls Soulkids Discussion part 6

So, the Souldoll stock sale is up on their website right now It seems once you purchase a head/doll though, other people can try to purchase it, so hopefully that won't be too much of a headache for Souldoll when they go to confirm orders etc ^^; I hopefully, maybe, got Souldoll Devonia head in sandy brown - we will see, lol. It took me awhile to actually find the listings on the website since it isn't super clear, so it's hard to say if I was fast enough.

If I did get here though, anyone know any good resin matches? I might just wait until the next tan event or get the new resinsoul girl body (human vers of the dragon girl) if all else fails, but I'd like to see what options I might have if anyone knows of anything

 

@Epona I hope there isn't too much of a mix up! I wasn't planning on getting another doll head, but then I saw that Clodia was available in NS, so I had to try my luck.

Does anyone have any new suggestions for clothing shops? I have gone through all the old threads and pored over Etsy, but thought maybe there is something I am overlooking on Instagram or something. I have a Miryu style body, and a new Double body on my Juno). I see so many adorable Minifee outfits, but am looking for something really casual a little bigger. I am not really into costumes, I just really like cute layers. I can sew, but am in grad school full time, so just am not finding the time to dress my ladies.

 

I hope someone didn't have a huge headache, lol! It seems I was able to get her though, since my order is on "item processing" right now. I will have to look around for bodies though... I love the NL Body aesthetically, and I think the new double body is much nicer in a lot of ways over the NL body functionally, but the Souldoll bodies aren't quite to my tastes personally. ^^; So I'll be looking around to see what options there will be for Devonia body-wise... sandy brown does make it a bit harder- even with blushing to match in mind - but not as hard as the original release purple would have been, I think.
I believe there might be potential with Withdoll's new girl body in brown tan or getting resinsoul to resin match with their new girl body, but I'll have to poke around and see what else I find.

Personally, I think vampire Kuu, Juno Elf, or Joelle would be quite tempting. I'm quite happy with just getting Devonia, though. XD

Mine is on processing too, so I believe I got my Clodia head! I'll also be looking for a body to match, once it gets here. Most of my current dolls are on NS bodies, so I'll probably be comparing to those to find my best match. Sandy brown does sound a bit more difficult to match, though, since there's such variation in tan-type skins, so good luck! I agree, though, purple would be much harder!

 

I don't have any Doll Leaves NS resin atm but I remember putting my Junia & Yola heads on it and while it wasn't a 100% match, doll leaves is a bit lighter, it didn't really bother me too much - it was a decent color match, I think, and I think Dollzone matched a little bit more if memory serves, if that helps any. ^^ Some of my friends also put a Souldoll head on a withdoll body too, but Withdoll apparently recently changed their normal skin to be more yellow very recently so I doubt it's as good of a match now.

 

Thank you for the advice! I do have a doll leaves boy in NS skin myself, so I should be able to do a direct test. I can also compare to my Mystic Kids NS bodies (since MK seems to have some pretty bodies too).

 

So I just cannot stop looking at photos of Milky Way, I just think she is stunning. However, I just bought Juno. Are they different enough to justify ordering Milky Way? My daughter is about pushing me over the edge, she wants me to turn Milky Way into Little Red Riding Hood.

I am also super tempted by her stock outfit!

 

Are there any comparison photos around of the NL small breast body and the new double body with small breasts? Which do people prefer?

I just paid off a great big group order (two of my friends and I went in together) from Moa/Aehael's animal release last year and I'm soooo excited! I can't wait to finally see my Moa.S! I haven't seen any pictures of their fullsets yet (or maybe I just missed them), which surprised me a little.

I got Moa.S head as a gift with my Casual Moa. She's so beautiful!
I bought her wig, eyes, clothes, animal hands and flower stick (although mine was sent blank and Souldoll will have to fix their mistake).
But I still hope to find/buy her an animal body+horns in the future so she can be displayed fullset.

 

Oh how nice! I didn't get her stick since the painting was fairly expensive (and I figured I could make my own stick if I really wanted her to have one). I did get her outfit and wig (and Aehael's outfit and wig too... I got greedy with the long layaway lol) and her animal and human parts. So I should have lots to play with when she gets here

I'm just waiting on the shipping invoice from BJDivas! I was hoping they would ship right away, but it is a large order and I think it's taking a couple days to get it all together. So I'm trying to be patient even though I'm internally all

 

I ordered a Juno Elf head in NS. I have no plans yet, I just couldn’t resist. I love elves and partially closed eyes!

 

I was gonna make a gallery post with my Souldoll/Loongsoul hybrid but only one photo really came out nice enough so I'm posting it here instead (Souldoll Yeon bee head, Loongsoul B-G42-01 body)

 

I've had a NS Gana head ever since the discontinuation sale that I was thinking about reselling, but I finally decided to use her to shell one of my characters instead. ;; So now I just need to decide on a body for her. The other characters in/planned for her world so far are three Minifees and a Mystic Kids, so she'll need to be compatible with them (though taller than the Minifees). Would a MYOU body work for that? I admit, I got a little bewildered by all the MYOU/Soulkids NS resin match discussions I found. ;; All help would be appreciated!

 

Guess who arrived today! (Well technically two days ago, but I was at work and couldn't sign for the package, and couldn't get to the post office yesterday.)

I didn't expect her to be so small! I think all of my other 1/4 size BJDs are 45cm+ so her little head is so small in comparison. I've got to find her a good body now.

@onedayrobots : Carol (Angelesque) posted a picture on Instagram. You can see Souldoll normal skin with all Myou's resin skins. Resinsoul, Doll Leaves, and Dollzone seem to be better suited.

My Moa.S arrived yesterday!

I'm absolutely over the moon. She's just perfect! I got both the outfits and they are so lovely. I did switch out her eyes but I'll be keeping her default pink wig probably.
Also I'm really impressed with the new body! She is very posable and easy to handle even with hooves.

Does anyone else find their girls extra leggy with the hooves? Mine is much taller than expected, so I might get her a shorter body and use the animal one for another girl.

 

She does! They are soooo pinchable. Round cheeks are one of my weak points in doll faces

Yes she's very tall with the hooves! I got extra legs for her so I can switch back and forth (I did it for the cute shoes and socks, I admit...). I don't mind it, but if anyone needs a height comparison I'm happy to oblige.

Does anyone know when/if they will be selling that Renewal Double Kids body with the different thigh design again? I really want to order Milky Way but I'm stuck between the N.L. and Double body but I feel like if the renewal option was available I'd just go for that rather than N.L. Such a hard choice. ><

 

I'm so sorry for how long it's taking me to do this (working a lot of OT and Resin Rose prep is eating my free time), but I was able to snap some height comparison pics today! I don't have time to switch to her animal legs atm but I will definitely aim to get more pictures with those in the future.


Resinsoul Fei (Rong body)>Souldoll Moa.S (new double girl)>Minifee Hwayu (active line)

As you can see she's nearly a head taller than my minifee when standing. She has a good centimeter on my RS girl. In her hooves she's even taller!


Her height is definitely concentrated in her legs. Sitting down, the Resinsoul girl is just as tall if not a little taller. To be fair, part of this is poor engineering on RS's part, because the leg joints in her hips stick waaay out when she's sitting while the Souldoll joints slot nicely into her hips (they have a notch to keep them in place). Still, even the minifee body is closing the gap slightly when seated. The new double body is LEGGY. I love it!

Regarding clothes, my Hwayu is wearing the Aehael set and it's slightly large on her. The Souldoll body has a significantly larger hip than MNF, so they can share as long as the clothes are stretchy enough. (For example, MNF can wear Glitter Girl leggings but no way do those go over Moa's thighs ) Their foot size is very similar though, no problem sharing shoes.

If you have any specific requests, I should be able to get them after Resin Rose next weekend (including hoof pics)! I have several other mini girls (Dollzone, Soom, SDCute, MSD, Unoa) that can come too

Edit: I forgot to add that Moa is wearing 14mm eyes with a small (5mm) iris in both these pics and the one I posted above, in case anyone was curious!

I looove Souldoll sculpts so much! It is so great to see everyone getting the newer sculpts.

I really love the aesthetic appearance of the Soulkid body. Ever since they came out with the original N.L. body they've had some of my favorites.

I've finally managed to put together a mod project I've had in the works for years. She still needs a wig that fits, as well as a new eye and maybe some proper clothes, but I'm just happy to have her in one piece. Finally!

 

She's absolutely amazing! I loooooove triclops dolls and she's just beautiful. such a wonderful shot of her too.

Hi all! Pretty excited to join the SoulDoll group. I ordered Juno a couple of weeks ago I've always wanted a Souldoll kid and now finally i'll have one. Anyone able to tell me how long their wait times roughly are??

 

Oooh congrats! My experience may be a little irregular since I purchased during their large discontinuation sale last summer, but it took almost exactly 4 months for my Shaun with faceup from order date to shipment date.

 

At long last all my souloid and soulkids have their own heads, eyes and probably their wigs. I haven't had time for a proper photoshoot, but here's a quick candid shot of Mewo, Clodia and Gana (on the souloid body).

I have a question about replacing Souldoll Kid hands. I have a Spider Queen body from 2017. Her hands don't have ball joints, and one hand has a particular thin wrist part, so it started to crack:



So my question is: does anyone know of hands from other companies that would fit an old Souldoll Kid body? I would really like to replace her hands with ones that come with a ball at the end.

You would have to mod the arm since it doesnt have a socket for the ball of other hands to fit into.

Ooooh, that's an impressive crack! Have you tried writing to Souldoll and asking if you could buy a replacement, even if they don't sell them anymore?

In the meantime, here's Emma fooling around. I need to take her out in some nice weather and get some pictures, but for now she's goofing around the apartment in her new sweatshirt. I really need to find some pants that fit her, a longer skirt, or failing that, a pair of underalls. XD

 

@Magnus Vale Emma has really cute pink ears! I haven't contacted Souldoll but I will now, thanks for the suggestion. In the worst case, I can hide the crack under some wrist decoration...

 

I would definitely check with souldoll. But also i would try to reinforce the edge and the inside if the crack with some apoxie. If you put the pieces of the crack together and put a small piece of apoxie inside it would be alot stonger and you should only see a little at the very edge

Does anyone have both a Dream Valley doll in WS and a SoulDoll doll in the old WS? I'd like to hybrid my SoulDoll Liddel (old WS) with a Dream Valley 1/4 body but I'm not too sure about the two resins matching. What do you think?

@D795 A bit of a long shot but have you tried contacting Soul Doll about it? They might sell replacement hands still, but this looks to me like a design issue that's big enough that, at the very least, they might consider redoing the wrists with future bodies so that it doesn't happen. Best case scenario, maybe they'll send you a free hand. :P

 

Wow, I had to go look at my girls.

I have an older Mayu on the older general body, a Yeon Soo kid on a NL body and a Betty on the new double body and I only JUST realized that my Yeon Soo doesn't have a ball joint in her wrist. Both the older and newer bodies do. That's just weird, not so much the dolls, me, I'm weird - why didn't I see that before?

@sno4wy Thank you I will contact Soudoll since it doesn't hurt to try! I believe this hand was made just for Spider Queen, and they got the resin too thin. If they have hands left, I prefer to get a regular hand rather than this Spider Queen one.

@Flittermice What really! There are wrist ball joints in both old and new bodies, but not this one?! That was a strange decision.

 

I know, right! I adore my Souldoll girls, but I think the oldest general body (very similar to the Minifee Active) is my favorite body (don't tell the other two). I like the new double, very long and leggy, but she's more comparable to a FID body, with a lot of hip. And while I like the NL body, there is a stiffness to the posture that seems to add an sense of anxiety or self-consciousness to my doll's character.

 

So I haven't been very active in the bjd community (though quite happy with my one doll for the past years), but something unknown called me back, and I think I'm about to buy a Soulkid girl this month. Feels like time for a girl....

Emma's enjoying my stuffed animal collection as much as I do. I'm also still switching wigs around, since she has the smallest head of all my dolls and most of mine don't fit her! This blonde wig doesn't fit anyone else though (I bought it for one of my boys and I think it was mislabeled as far as size goes), I think she looks kind of cute with a short hair cut though?

It's totally Sirius' fault that I want Kyron, whom I found in the marketplace (Thanks @Shilen ) and this will be the adoptive mother of my family of 4 fae children, so I was excited to find a new double girl body on Facebook for her instead of the male body the head was sold with. *waits for overseas shipping*
