Bristol: She has the older kids body. Her face definitely appears rounder in the promo pics, esp the chin appears much less pronounced. I'm assuming photoshopped or perhaps even her sculpt was changed slightly?

I‘m pretty sure it’s their face-up and the angle the pucs are taken.

I had similar issues with the Lev sculpt. Loved their limited Tarot version, but thought their basic sculpt was changed into a version with fuller cheecks. If a friend hadn’t shown me a blank pic, I’d have never purchased him. (I now have him in each of the three colors ever available xD)

 

So, I am really hoping my Aehael will ship out the end of the month/early February. My birthday is on January 26th so, if she does, it would be pretty dang good timing! XD January 6th marked the three months milestone, I believe, so we will see...

She'll be on the small-bust new double body, which is pretty tall, so I think I'll probably get her a shorter body from another company instead and give the body she comes on to one of my floating heads (probably Mewo or Kuu)... Right now I am thinking I'll give her a Withdoll body, depending on how many/what changes Withdoll makes when they release their new girl body.

 

Epona: I'd love to see her when she gets in! Do you think she looks similar to Juno? Can't decide which I like best - Juno looks younger with a rounder face. Did you get fairy or human? Aehael is no longer available anyway.

Here's another shot of my White Rabbit (Diammah). I wish she was a bit shorter too. Clothes by Code Noir.

 

I think Aehael has a very sweet face, whereas Juno can look a bit more stern. ^^ But I think they both would look good side-by-side; I don't remember the initials in the headcap (I used to have a Juno), but I think they might have the same sculptor, too! But Juno has a rounder face for sure, so I guess it depends on how that makes you feel. Eventually I'd like to get a Juno again so if I ever do, I can always see about a side-by-side but I think someone else would be able to get there longer before I do lol.

And I got the human Aehael with the animal gift head, which will be going to a friend. In hindsight I wish I decided to get the faun legs too but oh well, LOL.
And Diammah looks lovely!

 

@stellarphenomena - I have both Aehael and Juno (for the time being at least). Here is a side-by-side shot of the two:

The differences in the eye shape is probably more obvious in the blank photos on Souldoll's site. But you can sort of see it here, as well as the difference in the nose and lips.

eland: Thanks! I actually looked at all your Souldoll heads. Aehael and Juno are both nice, but now I see how different they are. Can you share a photo of them when they are dressed?

 

So... is Souldoll keeping the "old white" and "new white" colors? I know they have an event were both are offered, but I was under the assumption that Souldoll was retiring old white?
I hope they keep both of them... Both look quite nice. Granted I'd probably give them all different names (White, Pale, and Fair Peach maybe lol), but if they keep both whites, it'd be nice to know there would be three different options. ^^ If only they had a darker tan, too. Sandy brown is so pretty, but I know they used to do fairly dark brown resin colors back in the past... Who knows what the future holds though, I suppose?

 

Souldoll hasn't announced her on instagram yet, or their facebook, but there is a new, limited msd girl! Her name is EunWoo.
They are selling her in two different sets, along with her head separately. She's for sale until the 28th Korean time.

I just opened my new SoulKid Yelena and one of her legs seems to be longer than the other?
I got her to stand with her feet apart but together she is unstable and slightly tilted.

Do you think this could be a stringing issue or should I contact SoulDoll? Or am I just seeing things?

They're definetly uneven. You should ask Souldoll about it.

 

I would contact the company right away and have a friend that is familiar with BJD's take a look at her. If it's just a stringing issue you will get it handled but if she was made incorrectly you will have contacted them immediately, which is always a good thing.

 

I don't know anyone who is familiar with BJDs in real life but I'm not afraid to unstring her.
I've emailed SoulDoll in the meantime

 

Is it just when she sits or does it also show up while she is in a standing position? Like does stand leaning to one side more or like you can’t straighten her leg properly while she like that and she just has it kind of kicked up?

 

When she stands she is tilted slightly toward her shorter leg. I'm trying to take a good picture of it.
I just restrung her and difference is still there. I couldn't tell if the top of the thigh is too big for the socket or if the piece is just longer than the other, maybe a bit of both

 

Keep everyone posted regarding your doll, it will be interesting to see how Souldoll handles this situation. I am looking to buy another doll but don't want to deal with anyone that won't back up their products or deal with issues that might arise. Good luck!

 

Oh no, that’s no good! What body is she on? It definitely looks like a big difference to me. I hope they resolve this issue for you.

 

She's on the new double jointed body that came out with Juno.

I heard back from SoulDoll to my initial email. They said that one of her legs was longer but since she is handmade that it's not a defect.

 

I hate when doll companies pull that garbage line. Yes they're hand made but there are still basic tolerances they should meet.

 

Ouch that’s not a satisfactory answer at all. I just ordered a doll on that body myself so I will report back if it’s the same on mine as well. I know an issue like that would drive me crazy.

 

OH wow I just saw your pictures in this thread and it's indeed quite noticeable, in mij opinion noticeable enough to complain about it. Shame that souldoll replied this way, because it does seem that posing will be harder with this body.
Men I would be peefed if this was me. Anyway do only tip I could give is maybe chekking you could sand the longer upper leg down a little.

Does anyone have tips on sewing for the new girl body? I knew she had big hips and a tiny waist plus I usually struggle with making clothes but now I'm really struggling.

All my incoming dolls are on the same body too so I'm trying to work something out now

Can anyone tell me if the Eunwoo they've posted photos of for the casual ver. are in their white or normal skin? I couldn't see any mention of it on the order page.

 

Has anyone gotten their EunWoo? She looks gorgeous in photos and she has a typical korean features. I would love to see how she exactly looks like in real life.

Does anybody have any idea what fits the nl boy body? I haven’t had much luck searching so far so I might end up having to sew my guy an outfit myself.

 

Not much in my opinion besides what Souldoll sells. Orz unless you get elastic pants and like a shorter leg look/style. Shirts tend to be a bit more forgiving if they are on a baggy side as that boys torso is long and a bit wider. But usually I can find something to fit unlike the odd length of leg.

I plan on making clothes for my NL body in the long run because it will just suit the character inside of trying to fit the character into what I have that "fits".

 

Do I just have bad luck with SoulDoll? Just got my Bonnie and Seung-a from the discontinuation sale and I'm feeling... underwhelmed.

One of the magnets in Seung-a's headcap came unglued. Which would be fine if the headcap fit even with it fixed! There's so much gapping, it's like it was made for a different head.

And maybe I'm just mistaken in my seamline knowledge but I thought white or normal skin dolls were sanded? Got both my girls in white and they've got seamlines similar to my tan Yelena

 

I am not sure about your personal feelings about the matter, but I know sometimes when I wait so long for a new doll I sometimes just end up feeling like... if they don't super wow me when they come in then they are bland. I usually can't bond.

Dx that bites about the head cap. I wonder if it is something you can contact Souldoll about?

And as far as seamlines go, my normal skin boy has his. So I am not sure if that is something they did in the past? My boy is from 2018.

 

@hawkfry : All of my Souldoll's bodies have seamlines so it is normal and not a default. My Seung-A's headcap is also bigger but still holds and it is not seen with a wig.

 

@hawkfry I'm thinking maybe a run of molds were all like this. My Crispin white-skin girl also has seam lines and her head cap doesn't fit super well. Gotta admit I was also a bit disappointed since I've gotten much nicer heads/bodies for less expensive

 

Okay, so it seems I was mistaken about the seamlines. I ordered through Bjdivas so I've contacted them about the headcap and they are getting in touch with SoulDoll.

This is what the head cap looks like with the loose magnet removed to just see if it would git properly otherwise

 

I had a problem kind of like that with my Souldoll Randor head when his magnet fell out. It seemed like they had put way too much glue in the magnet hole so when I tried to fix it it just pushed it further up. And it didn't want to close all the way?

 

Oh dear, that's quite a gap! I hope they can fix it for you! Upsetting that it was sent out like that instead of being re-cast immediately (Also just want to say I love your fingernails, they're so fun! ^^)

I must admit after the response I got to my first dolls issue I'm not really expecting Souldoll to do anything to fix the situation. If I need to I may just have to rig something for her head cap

 

@hawkfry that is a stressful situation but I tried a few homemade solutions for my weird head gap-y dolls. On one (RS but still) with loose magnets that didn't sit nicely, I put a tight elastic band around (the kind found on produce) and it acts as both a stop-gap for the head and a wig cap. It's not the most elegant solution, but it's good in a pinch.

So I'm here to report that I put my Soulkid head on a muscle model delf body, and my MDF head on the Soulkid boy body (NL I think) and...it worked surprisingly well! For anyone who wants to know, clothes that fit the MDF body fit the Soulkid body very nicely. I've also had luck with some VOLKS styles on the Soulboy body, though it's not a guarantee.

 

Popping in to introduce my Shaun! I got him quite some time ago in the discontinuation sale but didn't find the perfect wig until now.

I've had good luck with pieces from the brand Bears (all bought from Alice's Collections). I can take photos of what I have if you'd like to see examples!

My Shaun also came with a sloppy headcap. The edges are a little rough and just like in your photos it doesn't sit flush even though I didn't have any magnet problems. I can live with it since it's covered by the wig but it definitely put a damper on the experience since he's my first Souldoll. (Going on a tangent here but I see that profile pic. My bias is Shownu! )

 

Wow! Your Shaun looks fantastic! Probably one of the best I have seen! He looks great in that blonde wig!

 

Heard back from Souldoll! They've asked me send back my Seung-a head so I'll be doing that within the next few days.

@Autumnfallen omg your boy looks so good! His eye makeup is a food contrast for his eye color. And yay for another MX fan

Oh yay, glad they're addressing the issue! Hopefully the replacement comes quickly! And thank you, I'm seriously smitten with the finished look. He was wigless for far too long haha.

@hawkfry I hope you get a speedy replacement back! Seung-A was one of the sculpts I really wanted before they discontinued. Her and Gana were so beautiful and a bit different than the other girls. I can't wait to see yours.

@AjiAji The resin match is so good because he's still on his sandy brown (and freckly) body His new body is pale! and not! freckled! and he looks so silly! I have him in a scarf to hide it but he'll need a whole new body blush.

I finally got my Moa-S last week. She is on the new DikaDoll body, good match for the WS

 

@AjiAji I missed your post! He's on a NS model delf body (v2) and it's so noticeably paler, though there is a shared yellowy/golden undertone. I think the right torso and hand blush will work. You can see him at the link though I used a filter to hide the worst of the discrepancy.

Hello. I own 3 Souldoll (2 are on their way).
I would like to have some jointed hands for them.
1 is in Sand brown resin
1 is in Normal
1 is in Old White

I own 2 pair of Dika Doll 1/4 hointed hands (grey and pink) so I know the wrist joint is not the correct size.
Though I like the hands. I wanted to try to get the white (not pure white) and the normal and perhaps resin match the pink I own to the sand. Do you think it is a good idea and will the resin match (for white and normal)? Do you think I can sand down the hands wrist so it fits nicer to Souldoll kid?

Any advice on other jointed hands that would be better?

Did you all see that Souldoll made a new version of the Kids girl body? It has open hands and the thigh piece is different at the back

 

For my normal skinned Juno I have Resinsoul's jointed hands in normal skin and it is an almost perfect match. The size is spot-on, the hands are exactly as the original ones in this matter. They're nearly ideal as far as the color is concerned, just half a tone lighter, really hard to notice. If you plan to blush them even a bit you won't tell a difference at all.
