Soul Doll Tera Zenith Discussion Pt. 1

Haha, okay, finally got the boys outside for a photo. Had the worst time! Get it bright enough to see their eyes, and it really washes them out and turns them into light beams, but if I make the resin look good, you can't see the eyes! Argh.
So ended up mashing two photos together, because on top of all that, Miklos would look good in one pic and Scott was less than good, and vice versa.

So anyway, here finally! Miklos (Cratos) on the left and Scott (Oscal) on the right!
One a little bright, and the other a little blurry. I'm afraid it's the best I'm going to get for a while.

I love the Sandy Brown of Andy, my Cratos, and think he matches the promo pictures very well so did not expect him to be dark. His sand is really more light tan than brown.

hi everyone...i've just jumped on the bandwagon with these 75 cms. how long have you guys waited for your guys to be shipped? so you remember?
have any of you done mods on the neck to match other dolls?

your Cartos is quite handsome. i gotta admit, part of the reason i waited so long to order was because i wasn't sure if i wanted a full doll with cartos's head or just the body. i opted for just the body in the end.

 

I Ordered in May. He arrived in September.

 

The black wig kept slipping off my Cratos, so grabbed another wig to try, and this one is the one that came with my Oscal.
Not bad!

I'm trying to remember...but I think it was just one to two months after finishing the six payments, that my boys shipped out. Oscal took a little longer than Cratos.

 

I'm curious... does anyone have photos of Scott with his default makeup? He tempts me, but I want to see owners' pictures before I decide anything.

 

Does anyone know, if Souldoll releases their sandy brown skin tone in events regularly, or is it very rare?
I just asked Souldoll, if they plan to release sandy brown skin again for the Tera Zenith and they basically with "Yes, this afternoon", but there's no way I can afford one at the moment.

 

It's about once a year, but not always for all sculpts.

I think I'm the only one on DOA that has a TZ Scott. I got him blank and I have been modifying his face for the past few months. He still needs a faceup but he is very different than the original sculpt. I don't know if it was the artist or souldoll to blame? But I got him with uneven resin on both halves of his face so I thought I would warn you about that.

 

Thanks for the warning! I think I'll just admire him online rather than buying him.
HIs size already made me think twice. He'd be almost half as tall as I am, and he might be too heavy for me.

 

I just fell in love with this sculpt and am planning on purchasing a TZ Oscal from AC's free shipping event this month.

I've browsed this thread, so apologies if this has been answered already, but what size clothing fits the TZ sculpt? I read EID fit (pants are a bit tight and short). Will ID72 clothes fit? Or clothes for 80cm dolls? What about Dollmore Glamour Model clothes (75cm) - but they seem a little small around the shoulders for the TZ, so maybe if the shirts are stretchy?

 

Thanks! I'm wondering if 80cm clothes will fit, comparing the measurements to the TZ and the (example) IOS 80cm, their chest and shoulder measurements are quite similar.

I'm still considering buying him. Now it's really up to whether I get the sandy brown skin, which is an option right now, or normal. I really like the sandy brown in owner pics in the thread.

 

Would anyone be able to try a Tera head on a Soom Mega Gem body? ^^; Thanks in advance!

 

H'ok, here goes. I know these guys have wide kneck holies. But, I want one of the new heads but not the huuuuuge body. I want a 65 cm BJD and considering Souldoll does make their heads a little smaller I can see the 9.4 cm head fitting on that size nicely. What concerns me is the 15 cm kneck hole Does anyone have any body suggestions? Or ahy suggestions on what do with such a large, gaping hole if I put him on a different body?

 

Um, newbie (to Souldoll) question here. Is it possible to just buy a Tera Zenith head, if they don't explicitly offer it on their site? Oscal is perfect for this character I've been trying to shell, but I want to put him on my Loongsoul body. I realize I might have to mod his neck opening, but I think he'd be worth it. How would I order him? Are there any dealers in North America who carry Souldoll?

 

I think the only way you can get an Oscal specifically is if you order the full doll on their website or if you find it on the marketplace here.

 

@thessalyrose Nope. They occasionally have head sales, and that's when you have to pounce if you want just a head.
It's easy to order. Just like most other sites, sign up, click what you want and toss it in the cart, then pay with PayPal. Frighteningly easy. I don't believe they have any North American dealers, or any other dealers at all. But it's easy to order through them directly.

Head/neck interface is good. Good mobility. But to my eyes, the head is too big for the body.

@kitkat10 You've probably already decided and bought or not, but no, I don't think the IOS 80cm clothes would work at all.
The IOS boys are all about being slender. Tera Zeniths are thicker. The IOS 80 body's arms are longer and thinner, as are the legs. I don't think the TZ's limbs would fit into any of the IOS 80cm clothes.
I have an IOS 80cm Jade and he's in the fullset suit (shirt, tie, vest, jacket, pants, socks, shoes, coat), and it took quite a while to get him into it all, so I didn't want to strip him down for photos. My apologies.
But here's a quick comparison of him to the TZ Oscal, and for grins because he was there, the new Soom Idealian 75. The TZ and ID75 are a lot closer in size. They both have substantial legs with muscles, and more beefy arms than the IOS 80cm.
Now, if Soom would sell more than seven black suit sets... ~.~ And restock... grrrrr.

Wow, thanks @aernath for the comparison pics! I did buy the TZ but haven't bought any IOS clothes. Thank goodness for that!

Would you say the TZ is a little more bulky in the chest than the new Soom 75cm? He even looks slightly taller, or is that just me?

 

Drat. I was afraid of that. Not that I don't like the body, mind you; I just don't have the budget for it. I guess I'll lock up my wallet and start lurking in the marketplace. Thank you for your replies, though.

Aaah, I am so afraid of modding ;n; but I saw a tutorial for a neck plug thing that would work quite well and looks super easy, the only problem is my crampy hands. I think I will get the head anyway and have help maybe from one of my friends or just deal with the pain haha What we do for dolls!

According to Souldoll the neck circumference is 15cm, but I saw someone on DoA say that the neck of an Iplehouse EID man is too big for a Souldoll head. The Iplehouse EID neck is either 12.8cm or 13.3 depending on which body they used.
Is the neck of a Tera Zenith actually 15cm or is it a typo?
I really want a less tall body for the head I'm waiting for, but I don't see how its possible if the head is supposed to fit a 15cm neck

 

Well, poop! My Oscal finally came in but I'm drawing blanks on his character. I guess it doesn't help that he needs a faceup. I do have some Idealian clothes I got from an online friend, so at least he's not naked!

 

Thanks. Mostly, he can fit ID72. Not all pants fit, though. I think I read he can wear EID shirts, too. I'm saving for a faceup first before going clothes shopping for him.

Oh, and I know Spiritdoll Herculean clothes fit, too!

 

Has anyone had problems with posing? When I first took my Oscal out of his box and tried to stand him up, his right leg always wanted to slide toward his left.

I thought he was strung too tight but when I restrung, it didn't help much. Not to mention how difficult he is to string I'll hot glue suede him next.

 

Help! My Mom bought an Oscal and he was shipped 3 weeks ago. The problem is he was scanned into the sorting facility and he's never left it. She filed a claim but they are asking how much the box weights and how big it is. Can someone get me weight and dimensions? The only thing they would tell her was something was wrong with his label. His tracking says he's still in transit. She's really upset and he vanished 50 miles from home

Weight.... um... label says 4620 or 5400, I'm guessing that's grams. The English barcode label says 12 (lbs?) or 13.
I got both Oscal and Cratos when they came out. I got Oscal with the outfit, wig, and boots. So, 13 lbs for Oscal full set. ish. ^_^

I really hope they find him and get him sent home soon!!!

I got to play with him! My goodness he's huge. I changed his eye for her and redressed him. Good poser. He was Very tightly strung. Is that normal?

 

Geez. She told me she had a bad time getting his head on. Not like I didn't believe her. She's not a wimp. But just playing with him I could tell. His string lays on the back of the neck Chanel. When you tip his head up, you get a view of his neck hole. Probably the only thing I'm not liking about his posability. But what a bod. And so easy to dress! Sorry about your finger. I'd be nursing my finger looking at his lovely thighs.

Yes! I don't know why they're always so tight, but they are. I'm sure they'll loosen up in a few months. I haven't played around with mine lately...
And yes, that neck hole gap is ... daunting. You have to be careful when posing them for photos. lol
And the feet coming together all the time... that annoyed me too! I tried restringing different ways, but nothing helped, so went back to the original stringing way he came with. I just make sure he's got his boots on so his feet have a grip when I pose him standing up.

These guys are gorgeous! Love them, and wish I could afford more! I think they're the perfect size for me. I can get my hand around their waist easily, and they're not too heavy, plus they just look the Right Size for me. I love the big boys!

I have my minimee, a Freak Style Salome, and Sicktress' first head sculpt on a girl body. Then I caved and got a little tiny Orange Tea Dolls Violka because she is blue! And then I snagged a secondhand Withdoll Cecily...because she's blue with clear blue hands and feet! lol (blue's my favorite color)
So, five girls out of ninetyish?
Way more boys.

 

heh heh, just ran through my profile, and it seems I forgot three other girls, and there are well over 100 dolls, not counting heads.
But hey, it's been over eleven years.... I've finally managed to stop buying for a few months now.
I don't know about mini Dexter, but that Doctor Strange IOS has would be awesome to have. But the pricetaaaag! $2400! That's almost a small hot tub!
I will, however, be keeping an eye on SoulDoll. These Tera Zenith boys are right up my alley. ^_^ And with the six payment plan? Perfect!
I'd like to get Zig in white and dye him brown. I think he'd look wonderful.

 

@aernath - You should do a big coffee table glossy photo book of all the dolls you have owned at one time or another.
You have had such a variety in your collection.

Unfortunately, they'd be small pictures since I resized them all to be 600pixels on the longest side. That used to be the maximum size anyone wanted. Now, when I look on the book printing sites, they want SO much more for the photo to look good.
Plus, it would take a million years to find and gather up photos... I've been through a couple computers since then!
I originally joined Flikr just to have a place to put pictures of all of them. heh... I'm still far behind on that!

Edit: Must be my computer. I have been trying to access my Flikr for weeks now with no luck. Looks like it works on my husband's!

So my Mom was talking to me about her boy. There is a resting spot on the neck for the hook, then the head goes on and then you pull the hook through and it rests in the head? Anywho, she's looking at his neck and its all chipped at the neck resting spot. Crazy how tight these boys are. Geez.

 

Yes! It always annoys me how tight they are. I mean, I get that it's for better posing and all, but geeze louize, you need a hydraulic lift to pull on that hook! Scary!

 

Okay, played with Moms boy today. We had a clothes swap as I have an ID75. Oscal looks great in my boys pants. Tiny waist gap but not bad. They were parading around without shirts, what a sight.

So she asked me to look at two weird spots on his head. This is the same boy that got lost coming home, mind. So I look at him, and the sealer is cracking. Not a little either. He has a Company face up and she hasn't had him very long at all. So weird. I swear he's jinxed.
