SOOM Teenie Gem Discussion (MDs included) part 1

I for one am really looking forward to the non-doll-raffle event. I want that Glot outfit! And probably also Afi's and Eliv's wigs. And Hati's... This is gonna cost me sooo much money...

Also liking the tiny unitaurs. From what I see though I'm not liking the face enought o get one. But if like Epidos they'll have a full human option as well, I might be tempted with a NS version.

 

Oh, I just saw the centaur with the tan body and fur tail. I need him so bad. I might have to put both of them on layaway. There goes my money....

 

The lottery event and the clothes/wig/shoes event are seperate. They are still doing a doll lottery from what i understand, the clothing event is completely seperate, theres been a clarification on the soom site about the clothing event. And the best thing is its for the 2009 dolls. I think ima have to buckle down and see if they release the hati outfit and if i can order more than one item.

NOW talking about all these event outfits, anyone got their dollies defaults they can show us?? XD

 

Aw, man, I wish I could get my hands on Bygg's default outfit somehow! Skoll's outfit is awesome, too. But both of my SOOM babies were bought second-hand, so I'm guessing that means I can't buy any of these event items? Seriously, the event confuses me so much! Haha.

 

This was Chi the first day he arrived. Outfit and faceup was default.
Looking at him now I sorta thought, man, I dunno who this is! XD

On another note, looks like my Bygg is finally getting his unicorn horn! The original horn got lost on the way from the seller to me, but the seller has helped me get a new horn. Actually, it should've arrived today, but apparently the postman decided not to ring my doorbell or anything, even though I was home. Grrr!

It is a Dollga in Royalgray. It is the same wig my Alk is wearing now, just styled differently.

shoot, yah, i noticed that the event has now been 'clarified' and its the 2009 items that can be choosen from instead of 2010. Drats! I wanted that Kimono! Oh well, I also the Skoll outfit.

Anyone notice that 'Authorized Serial Number' button on the left hand side of the page near the bottom? I clicked it, it brings up a box and I typed my certificate number from my certificate of authenticity. It brought up my order and all the relevant facts surrounding my order, the only button available was 'confirm' and then...

nothing happened.

has that button always been there and I just never noticed?

Actually now that I look closely at it, I think that if you have the certificate number ie you bought your doll second hand you should be able to join the clothing event.

Unforunately I think that might be a raffle also because soom says "Chance "

(Soom "We will offer you a chance to purchase wigs, outfits and footwear of 2009 past MDs, regardless of the owned MD type" )


What does this mean though? more than one item? One item per doll you own or more than one raffle doll?

Does anyone knows what is the best match whit SOOMs cream white? Only one is Luts WS, but if there is a another match feel free to tell me.

I worked worked on my Iv, Lore today. He needs a redo, he looks like a girl. Don't really know how much that can be helped since the Iv/Elive scuplt is so feminine.

I've asked Soom about the post MD event, they told me you can choose options when you register. For instance, you want an Alk, but you only want the blank doll without all the other options, you can choose while registering for the event. As for the other event, I still don't know. Should we ask? Or has someone have an answer already? I think 1 order number can be used to buy a lot of things at once (put them in the cart... then write your post MD order number in the comment form). ^^ So we can put more than 1 items in the shopping cart, right? And if say, I have 12 MDs, I can have 12 different carts? XDD

I'm wondering if we can use someone else's order number (that we know) if they're not buying anything? I'm guessing not, since you probably have to log in and have the right address... I haven't even made my own account on the Soom site yet, and my MD is coming second hand. -_-

Question to all Kenny and Silt owners. I just recieved their outfits and... I don't know how to open the necklace! How should I do it? Awww help pleaseeee!

 

I dont have one of these dolls, but if there is no clasp on the necklace to open it, and its not on an elastic string to stretch, you probably have to take the dolls head off to put it on, then put the head back on.

 

Oh my god x-x I love them sooo much.

But I'm not really in love with the Centaur bodies :< I prefer them as little humans...
D: now I wish we could have them give us the dreaming eyes on a human head ;D that would be perfect..

 

I have a question too.. Some MD's have different heads... some appear to NOT have different heads... I'm having a hell of a time figureing out which do and don't at times. Most importantly does anyone know if the Hati/Skoll heads are the same or different? I can see no appreciable difference but the eyes keep throwing me off .

On a separate note... It looks like I found the head for my mermaid... This New Minette just jumped STRAIGHT to the top of my list.[FONT=&#46027;&#50880;][/FONT]

I thought they were. I really wish soom would identify them as same or different heads. Cus like... some of them seem to be different and aren't. Or at least are kinda difficult to tell for sure... :/ or maybe I'm dim >.<

 

All of the ones I've ever held are always the same Sculpt.
Glati & Glot are the same
Hati & Skoll
Alk & Yrie
Bygg & Beyla.. and all the other teenies

They only ever are different via Faceup or resin color :>

But if they were released at the same time then they are the same heads.
The new ponies are so cute... I kinda want a human one. >.>

 

I just got me Keny outfit as well. The clasp is a snap in the back. It took me a bit to figure it out but I was able to pop it open after a minute

 

The heads are the same in a pair of different gender/color. This goes for all Teenie Gems. Some of the molds have two different heads (as in Bygg's R.head and OE head).

 

I really like the human/open-eyed heads on Pyrol and Minette, I wish those had the unicorn horn instead of the dreaming heads which I'm not as fond of. I suppose you could always mod the head if you really wanted...

Anyone else think their centaur legs look really short compared to the length of the body? o_0 It may just be the photo angles, but they don't look too proportionate, still cute though. ^^

 

I just modded the forehead part of my Beyla head, where the horn was supposed to be. It was fairly easy (despite from cutting one of my fingers T_T) and I just filled the hole with epoxy sculpt. I'm still debating if I should open the eyes or not. The half open eyes are growing on me ^^.

 

I did kinda think that myself, but i figured it added to their charm, im rather impressed this time round, not something im interested in myself but definately an interesting concept and nicely pulled off

Yay baby centars! The stumpt legs is so cute! Its weird that the boy looks so grumpy to me, and the girl is so smilely and sweet. Usually soom faceups leave booth genders/options looking the same, but these are great ^_^

I guess I'm a weirdo, but for some reason looking at the centars makes me want to pick up an Appini head 0_0 Not for the centars, but just to have. weird.

 

Actually if you look, it is only the unicenta Pyrol head that is grumpy, the human one is perfectly sweet and angelic. Makes me wish I could afford both the human and centaur versions of him, but sadly I had to choose.

Thus I am bringing home a baby Pyrol centaur. Eeekkk! Can't wait for my baby

 

Awe the new teenies are cute but not exactly what I'm looking for.
I liked them at first but the more I looked at them the more I came to dislike them.
Thank goodness they weren't little dragons though or I would of cried.

And Milo's so adorable.
He makes me wish I had more monies so I could get my Glati sooner.

 

I'm not SOOMed with the baby centaurs this time around. They are super cute, though! But if SOOM re-releases Skoll/Hati as a human, I'll be so SOOMed!

Oh, yeah, and baby dragons are going to demand I get them, too!

 

I really want a Pyrol with both heads. ^^ Still waiting though~ I might be getting the human instead... XD Still, his grumpy face is so cute... My Chalco has my Keny, my Chrom has my Silt, and later... my Epidos will have my Pyrol~ ^^ dads and their sons. Won't it be wonderful? I get goosebumps just imagining it. XDD
