Hello! My Honey arrived! She's a doll. Her quality is amazing and her outfit is so well made and soft! I love her sleeping head.


I made a box opening thread if you are curious! She is waaaaaaaaaaay less red than her Soom pictures make her out to be. I was surprised!

She's completely adorable, @Glowbee!! Glad to see this thread come back to life... I've been meaning to post here for the past several days, but I've been so busy lately that I just kept forgetting.

A lot has happened in my life over the past month and I just haven't had time for doll stuff. Now my husband and I are getting ready to go out of town for a week. I was originally planning to bring a doll or two with me, but I'm not sure if I will. We leave on Saturday, so I'll have to make a decision in the next couple days. ^_^

The single jointed body is all I have ever dreamed of... My Dolomi had double joints and personally I really disliked it. But this body is so perfect!!

 

Soom has re released the kitties:

I almost freaked out when I saw the word 'kitties' (since cats are my favorite animal)!

Luckily for me, I've never been a huge fan of Appini/Shonki and they changed the cat parts (and there are no front paws, just the ones for their legs it looks like). I don't dislike the sculpt, it's just not one of my favorites. So I'm safe, thankfully. Now is not a good time for me to get Soomed or anything else.

Quick question for those more familiar with Soomlings (if that's OK?):

I'm interested in the Appini on sale now, however I've never been one for animal parts. That being said, the listing says assembled teenie gem body as well as the cat parts set. My question is: if I order Appini, will the body I receive have only the cat parts and no human legs? Or would I receive a full human doll with the cat parts on the side?

Basically I'm asking would my Appini be a full doll if I chose not to use the cat parts or would I be lacking lower legs and feet?

@baxterbrat You would get a full human tiny body, and the cat legs, so if you don't want to use the fantasy pieces you don't have to.

Oh, whew! I saw Shonki/Appini, and thought for a second that they might re-release the black resin, in which case I would've wanted one. Just the WS and tawny aren't enough to get me too excited, luckily for my wallet! :P

 

Congrats @baxterbrat ! are you going with the tawny or the cream?

I also wish that they had used the old kitty paws, I would be somewhat tempted by that, or like you said @AirimirOfGondor black resin. I keep hoping that they will put out another black resin tiny, but maybe it didn't do well/is too hard to make.

@Mayday: Thanks! Tawny. I've wanted a tan Appini forever, since before it was a free choice option actually. When they did the free choice last time I had just purchased my Daydream Sally and I was so bummed because I didn't have the funds. I've also yet to see any secondhand bronze Appini's so I'm not letting this chance slip me by. It's a lighter tan, but I honestly don't care. It's Appini!

Now all I need is for them to not do any free choices for the elves anytime soon, because there are far too many surprise heads I adore. Like your Feny up there.

I picked up my Bunny from the post office yesterday and I just got to open her and she's SO cute.
I'll post a picture later tonight once I have a second pair of hands to change out her human legs for her bunny legs. The body blushing is gorgeous.

 

Hello everyone ^^ I am about to order a Shonki/Appini and was wondering, since there seems to be no waiting room and no one in the Soom waiting room who already ordered... is someone here going to get one?

I am just so excited! She is my favorite Soom Teeny and I always wanted one. I missed the FCE and was so crushed... but now I got a new chance and I'm going to take it!

We used my account because I had points left. We are getting Appini ( the white one ) in blank, we just ordered the space eyes.

I just tested to log in the personal information ( my account is on the ENG site not the EUR ) and I can type my password, click confirm and after that the only thing that happens is ... The button will become grey ...
Is that the same problem as yours?

 

Ah, I never ever had a Soom doll slip through customs but there is always hope, right?

And yes, that is exactly my problem. I can enter a different billing and shipping address when ordering, but I am not quite comfortable with this solution. I fear for a mixup with the old address...

 

I would leave a note at their Q&A board, maybe even with screenshots.

Only problem is that it seems at least today nobody answered any questions there today

And I had a FCE doll slip through. It was delivered to our home EVEN with a "hand over to customs, dont deliver to customer" sticker on it so it seemed to be a strange mistake
And nope we didn't pay any customs for him.

 

I signed in and everything seems to work. Even tough the buttons are grey it did say the changes were saved.

 

Maybe I need to try it on my laptop. I had sone strange things not working the same in different browsers or different devices regarding Soom's website.
And the button that turns grey is the confirm button when they ask you to type your password in to get access to the form to change information, so there is nothing saved because you can't even enter something

 

I don't even get to change something. I type in my password and when I press the "Confirm" butten, it goes grey and nothing happens. Normal login to order something does work though, just not, when I want to change my personal information

Yeah, I left a note and am waiting now to solve the problem before ordering^^

They delivered the parcel who was meant for customs anyway? xD I wish something like that would happen to me!

Didn't work on my Ipad and didn't work on Chrome browser from my laptop BUT it did work with internet explorer
As I mentioned ... sometimes Soom's website does veeery strange things ...

Yes, exactly! But I am very happy this happened! Customs a such a big bummer in this hobby
(Even if I sucessfully dodged to pay a huge amount of money for my 1200$ Isha order)

 

@Glowbee It is a little peachy, but the color reminds me of the Volks Sunlight Tan. She's lovely in person, and I'm so happy I have her. She arrived today! Will post pics soon! The color is very even.

I ordered her for my girlfriend
So if i understood her correctly she wants to give her a space / colours of dawn theme.
So purple, pink, blue maybe orange will be the colourscheme for her.
My job to convert that in actual blushing (｡╯3╰｡)
She doesn't have a name yet though ~

What are you aiming at ? I am so corious because I am simply not used to such small cuties

With mine I am not sure if I keep the cat paws or if she will have her human feet. My idea is to have her in earthy colors or off white :3

 

I am kind of lazy right now in regards of blushing and stuff.
I was hyper motivated to buy some sealant I wanted to try out but as soon as I grabbed my keys and went towards the door I heard someting that sounded almost like a mountain breaking appart right over my head.
Stupid thunderstorms ! It was a sunny day and all over sudden it got all dark and rainy
And because I go by bus and have to change the busses several times I decided I will go for it tomorrow instead.

But I think it will be quite relaxing to blush something way smaller than those giant Super Gem hooves

The contrast between the tawny and a nice off white sounds quite tempting to be honest.

And after having a Littlegem with fantasy parts to blush, I think yes, they are a lot more relaxing to work with than giant SD hooves would be xD

I actually consider scratching the whole cat-theme... but not sure jet. Maybe the little tawny pawsies are too convincing ^_^"

I have MSC and Citadel at home and I saw a video where LUKAS Sprühfilm was mentioned and I really want to give it a try because I am not so fond of MSC as the one and only option at all. I mean it works fine but after all it is just a sealant for art, imported from Japan ... People treat it like it was designed especially for BJDs or something ...
For faces it works for me but it chips so so so easily on fantasy parts !
(Well it is made to seal art on stuff like paper ... of course it does !)
I got really frustrated because all dolls I own have hooves and investing hours of non airbrush pastelblushing just to see it chip right after you put the doll together ... + it is expensive as hell ... (imported )

The Citadel I have works really well. It feels so much more sturdy on the dolls but I miss the UV protection aspect on it so I want to try Lukas + Citadel to get the best of both.
(Sorry for that littlte excursion )

I've never been able to successfully airbrush fantasy parts evenly. @_@; Not with pastels. They always come out really grainy for me.
