Soom Teenie Gem and Monthly Doll Discussion Part 13

Yeah, toxic is the perfect word to describe it. :/
It also sucks because my best friend works there too. I really want them both to get out of there ASAP!

I wish we knew already which sculpts would be in the next TG FCE! I mean, I have a rough idea, but to know for sure would be awesome. I also wonder what the next TG MD or SO release from Soom will be. I know it'll probably be a couple months, because they just released the little bunnies, but still.

 

@Kelaria ouch! hope both of them get new jobs soon then!

I really hope the new SO, MD or event they do is in a few months because I already have plans for the money I was going to use in the bunnies (I liked the heart hands so much that I decided to get a tiny and then I didn't like the whole set enough to buy it). But I'm really looking forward to what's next we need more fantasy colors for sure~

 

I kept hoping and wishing for a yellowy color - and 'lo and behold they released Mango skin! It's super-great! It's very yellow while just under say, house lights, but when the sun shines on the resin, in the thinner parts of the resin (between fingers, where a shadow is cast), this wonderful creamy orange glow shows up. I love it so much!

But that being said, I'd love to see another black (like Shonki), or dark brown (like Selen/Sabie), or a dark green or blue. I know that adding more color to the resin would cost them more money, so a light shade of a color is probably the most efficient for Soom. But, having had the very light blue of the Taco/Dolomi release, then the slightly darker blue from Picro and Carbon, and Happy/Lucky (which might have been even slightly darker than that?), I'd looooove to see a midnight blue colored doll. Or like a hunter green, now that would be something! Or even a dark orange - since we now have the Mango skin and we've had varying shades of tan, a kind of midpoint between them, like a primary orange, could be super-cool too! *dies* I have too many ideas...

 

I'd love to see a dark blue colored scaly dragon teenie with a face sculpt that would fit my dragon-boy Egan!

That's what I've been wishing for... I haven't fully decided on color for him... but I know I want scaly dragon parts... *sigh*

I'd love to see what an orange would look like!

 

I have been hoping for a scaly dragon for years. I have a little pearl dragon in my head that needs to be inresinated.

 

I suggested a scaly dragon to Soom when they were taking suggestions on that survey a while back... I don't think I was the only one, so maybe they might actually consider it.

I got hopeful when they did that one little anthro dragon release... (edit: or was it two?)

 

It's actually a cloak clasp. Once I find where my felt ran off to, she will have a wee cloak!

Lol I know, right? XD Any time I see a new Soom doll, but am not Soomed, my wallet breathes a huge sigh of relief! :3

 

I have the little ice blue zard, but yeah another dragon with scales would be worth looking at for me.

 

I was thinking that I would someday sculpt some fishie scales onto my Picro with ApoxieSculpt. Maybe overtop the feathering on the centaur legs, or something. For a while I entertained the notion of getting him Eliv/Iv lower arm parts as well and dying them to match, as they have scales on them, but those are pretty old and rare now, so I kind of gave up on that. Maybe I could add scales on whatever body I do end up gettign him. When he has a body, at least! :P

 

Today is Wren (my MD Yrie)'s birthday! She is my oldest doll still at home and she arrived home six years ago today (March 19th, 2010). I thought I might do a photoshoot, but I ended up going out and taking pictures of spring flowers and I just didn't get around to it. Instead, here's a throwback to the day I opened her box from Soom!

what is going on with the soom event it said the last day was the 23rd but they are sold out now?

 

In post MD events, there are a limited number of dolls available. When they are sold, it's over.

 

Oh I guess I thought it was the lottery thing this time.

The MD event dolls are dolls that were canceled before by other people? I wonder because it says that they are already made.

I have my eyes on "Feny & Necy - The Fox and the Grapes (NS) (full set) Head, Body, Fantasy parts (＄6.00)" because I always loved that sculpt but does it come with a face up? and full set means that it comes with the human body, right?

Sorry, I'm a complete newbie to these events I'm afraid that they can go out of stock if I ask them and wait for them to answer me until tonight so I hope someone here can helped me out so I can make my order now =)

 

If you want the faceup or body blushing, you must select those extra cost options.

 

If you are really wanted Feny/Necy I would go ahead and order it. Like nancy_schroeder_ca said you can add options you want for face-up and body blushing from the drop down menu. These are first come first serve so if you wait you likely will miss it. Best of luck!

I believe indeed that they are cancelled orders or extras Soom has on hand.

I think I did hahaha right at the last minute because after making my order, everything went out of stock. It says 'before shipping' but I always like to confirm with Soom that everything is ok first and they haven't answered me. Probably tonight I will get an answer =)

@Chooper303 thanks!!! There are not many Andes/Tona in Doa that I have seen, and they are not often shared here either. I think is such an underrated sculpt.
Crafting is so much fun! I can't sew but I do accessories for my dolls and other stuff too~

 

I love my Andes!! I unfortunately don't have many recent photos of her though. This one is pretty old, and also very blurry. (With my Afi. )

My Soom Lucky (Dear my tweety) arrived this week. It is gorgeous. His name is Aron and I finished his face up yesterday. :3

Is there anybody here who ordered Happy/Lucky with wings? I have a problem with the other wing.






Wings look good on the head as well but my original plan was to use them on the back -.-''

 

I also have a pair of those wings - I find that they work best when the doll is wearing clothes. The magnets are strong, but they need some traction to keep them from slipping.

 

Another thing that works well it to add some drops of hot glue on the magnets so they have 'grip'.
My Benmore horns would slide to bad positions too without that :3

I also need to get out those wolfy paws! I paid all that money for her to have them, and she hardly ever wears them!

 

Eep! I am so excited. My Cheshire Kitten is on its way home after being blushed and face-upped by Angeltoast. She is so cute! Her wig hasn't made it yet but I will share some pics when I get her. I had her painted and blushed like the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland.

All in all, I think I like how the sundress turned out. The pleats are in kind of a weird place (fortunately, you can't see that here) and the back of the bodice needs a bit of work, but overall not bad!

 

My Cheshire kitten arrived from her paint by Angeltoast. I am in love with her! Her wig hasn't arrived yet but this one isn't too bad.

wow, the blushing blended really well with the LV skin great job on styling her.

 

The Dia orders from early February are starting to ship, which means Bunny and Honey should start being sent out soon!

I sent an e-mail to Vitta Vera today (the faceup artist who did work on my Minifee Soony) to see when she'll be able to do faceups for my Bunny when she arrives, and blush my Afi's hooves/tail.

So much Teenie Gem hype for me right now!
