Soom Teenie Gem and Monthly Doll Discussion Part 13

I finally finished painting my Viol's head! I don't have a good photo to show yet, as my camera's charging at the moment, but I'm excited to show you guys later!

 

I want to make sure I am reading this correctly, fantasy parts for both bodies?

 

I think it would be one set of fantasy parts. You would get the original human body and the set of fantasy parts default, and then the add-on body is all human.
At least I think so, I have not bought an extra body in a situation like this myself.

 

Yeah, this is what I meant. I hope it didn't sound like I meant you would get two sets of fantasy parts, because you definitely wouldn't.

 

Okay! Yes... That sounded WAY too good to be true, haha ;D

 

Finally snagged some photos of Nash! Unfortunately most of them turned out a little blurry, but this one's good! (albeit realllllly large, so sorry about that! )



He's still largely a WIP, since he's missing his horse parts, real wig (this one's just temporary), wings, and saddle blanket... Although I've been thinking maybe I should make him some temporary pants to wear on his human legs until he gets his horse body. :P

After the maori tattoos I gave my Picro, I wanted to try something else a little different than just a plain faceup.

 

@AirimirOfGondor love the face up!! The red looks really nice on his skin~ you definitely succeded in trying something different!!!

Did you guys see that there will be a Post MD sale? hope it includes some tinies, though I'm not sure up to which MD they will be selling, I want a Cheshire jr but that's kinda new. Hope they do post a list of dolls soon

 

@Ellesmera Really hope they have a Picro. ;u; But maybe it's better for my wallet that they don't.

@Ellesmera I am really scared any time there is an event sale. :P I'm still hoping they do a body sale at some point (when I happen to have extra money >_>) so I can get a body for my Picro. :P

@Redrosette Thank you! I know I'm not as good at faceups as some of the other amazing artists out there, but I try my best, so I'm glad you like them!

I have to get around to doing some more work on some of my herd at some point though, my Bygg and Afi both still need their horsey parts blushed, after 2-3 years!

 

I want so many old teenie sculpts that I'm excited about the post MD, though chances of actually getting the doll you want are slim.
Luckily I didn't like the new teenie enough to buy them, so I could use that money in the event

 

Elamanders would be so dangerous! Fun resin colors are no good for me too...

 

Unless Soom unearths a whole lot of older unsold dolls (please do!), the Elamanders are most likely not included since the remaining copies were sold during the 2014 Post MD event...

Last Thursday I asked them about a possible Bodies & Parts event, but they must have misunderstood my question and told me the Post MD will be soon - and they were right!
Still hoping for a Bodies & Parts event though... I was really surprised that they are actually doing a Post MD event again! The last one has been just last September and October, do they really have enough dolls to sell this time?

 

@Collie you are right, it does seem like too soon. They used to be by lottery long time ago, they are first come first serve now? not cool ;_;

 

I'd be willing to bet there are some special order dolls that will be available.

Hey, I have 2 ns teenie floating heads, I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for buying them bodies.

Also those new bunnies are so cute! But I can't afford them since I just ordered a new doll. :/

 

If I remember correctly, Fairyland Littlefee bodies, work, as do Impldoll Baby bodies.

 

Seconding the Impldoll body! If I had not found a too good to be true deal on a partial body in the MP for my Ai, I was going to get her an Impldoll body.

Post MD list is up, there will be 3 elamanders available, 2 pink and one blue. No cheshire for me though

For dolls listed where clothes are included as available, do you have to get them or you can buy the doll only? anyone knows?

 

I believe in the past you can chose what you want and leave off what you do not. I don't believe you have to get the outfit if you only want the doll. They would probably just sell them in a clothes sale later on.

 

I want Picro so bad... that pale blue is so pretty! But even if I could afford it right now, the chances of me actually getting the only one available is basically nonexistent. *sigh*

@Kelaria Picro is super tempting but I won't try to get him knowing someone with faster internet would get him >.> the other doll that really tempts me is Sov, but I'm not so sure about the green skin so I probably will pass this time. I wanted a cheshire more than anything

 

@Ellesmera, I have a Sov - and I love the green color. It is a nice light tone, and you can do blushing to make it seem even more green, or you can use other colors to tone down how green it is.
x_x And yea, only one Picro is a little rough...

 

Phew, luckily none of the teenies in the post MD event are calling to me. If Flint/Hawa came with the bunny parts I might be tempted, but I feel like since I have the new bunny on order now, I wouldn't want a second bun anyway.

@AirimirOfGondor oh thanks! that's good to know I tried looking for photos on flickr and there wasn't much. I did like what I see though, so I'll think about it some more and maybe I'll try getting one

 

My Winterwood Sov looks a lot more green in person than photos let on (especially Soom's). I think that's why people have been hesitant to photograph them- it's a bit frustrating when you can't make the picture look right.

 

I really wanted Picro in pale blue, but... not my time.

How does purchasing in an event like this work? Do you go to the usual sales page of the doll you want or do they put up a special one?

@Redrosette I've never been into a PostMD sale but I would think they will put a special page for the dolls, I remember them doing that for post md clothes and wigs in the past, though I'm not sure.

@Vitarja your cheshire is lovely I so want one someday, please feel free to spam constantly seeing other people's cheshires helps

 

@Vitarja, How's the purple on Silky? I can see that the Cheshire is a lot more purple when side-by-side, but by herself is Silky's purple fairly noticeable?

My husband gave me the go-ahead to try for one of the three dolls I'm interested in for this event! Silky, Picro, & Feny/Necy! I know I have no chance of getting any of them, but if I don't at least try, I will regret it.

I'm very interested in Silky, because purple is my favorite color and her face is so cute! ^_^ But I don't want to be disappointed by the color in-person if it's not really very purple after all.

@Kelaria, Silky is light violet like her skintone is named, and though Cheshire skintone is also "light violet", he is really purple.

Hmm... I like the color, but I'm not really sure about it. Is it more purple in person than in photos?

I wish I liked the Cheshire face sculpt more... I'd get one of those for sure if I did! That shade of purple is gorgeous!

I'll have to decide which one I want to go for first before next week.

Although, it very likely won't matter, since there's almost no chance that I'll snag any of them. Oh well.

 

No, it's not very purple. But I think it depends on time, when doll was made. I saw other dolls (like Amber and another one, don't remember mold name) in this color and they were always different shades.

 

I think I'm going to try for some of the teenies in the event. I've had some luck in the past so you never know.

I am sad to hear that the batches of light violet are so different. I'd love to get another body for my Cheshire Cat. This may be harder than I thought.

 

I never have luck with lotteries and/or first-come-first-serve type situations... but maybe this time will be the time!

I've also been thinking about the possibility for the next Free Choice Event.... when was the last one? I remember that I missed out on the last one because I decided my gray Skoll was more important (Best choice I could have made! So glad I made it!)... I will have to do a little poking around to see what might be available in the next TG FCE. And how soon we might have one. I've had Tytus for over a year now, so it's probably been about a year since the last one.

 

:3 I realized the other day, that before I got Nash at the end of 2015, I hadn't gotten a full Soom doll in almost 2 years! I did get my Picro head in 2014, but it was a good deal, and also just a head. :P

Another FC event would be super-fun, but I kind of think they won't have the colors I need in those. The blue is the only color I need right now, and of course, I keep hoping they do another super-dark brown (like the Epidia color), or an even darker than usual grey, as the last pony on my wishlist is a little earth mage/stone golem. They usually do tan, NS, and WS, and that's usually it.
But if there was a FC centaur event?? *dies* I might actually cry! XD

 

The last FC was in October of 2014 and they seem to do them every 2 years or so, so we're certainly due for one. Here's the news post that includes which sculpts and which resin tones were offered. I'd love to see Picro/Sammi and Selen/Sabie on the next one, but who knows if that'll happen... (and if my budget will be able to handle it).

 

If I didn't want Picro in blue so bad, I'd be tempted to go for one in the FCE! But I kinda want to go for something different than what I have (as far as resin color). I wouldn't mind a bronze teenie, but I don't know what sculpt I'd go for... Something to think about though!

I really wish I could find a sculpt for Egan, my little dragon boy! I've been wanting Soom to do a scaly dragon TG for years now, but no luck so far. :/


Anyway, I definitely want another boy to add to my collection! Tytus is lonely being the only boy in the house! XD

Although he doesn't seem to mind when he's enjoying a day out with a pretty girl!

 

Does anyone have any pictures of Hansel and Gretel? I'm trying to decide if I want to enter for them in the lottery but am not having much luck finding owner pictures. Any help would be great!

Has anybody come up with names for their bunnies yet? I have no idea what I'm going to call my girl.

I checked the site early, even (I guess not early enough) and the pages were up, but Picro was already gone. *sigh*

I could have gotten a Feny/Necy (I had it in my cart and everything), but I don't think I want to commit to that right now. The pale blue would have been worth it, but there was only one, and I missed it.

Did anyone here get anything in the event?

I totally forgot!!! There's a few teenie gems left, but nothing that I really want. In any case I was already set on not getting anything because I need that money for my true loves (Bygg, cheshire jr, Afi, all the colors but lilac especially). I still think that SOOM will make it happen at some point

 

I somehow lucked out and nabbed a baby pink Sammi. She is a dream come true. That sculpt is by far my favourite. I cannot wait to get her home!

Since the bunnies are a current release and SOOM already put up for sale many things the last week, what are the odds of them selling another tiny any time soon? I guess there will be at least a couple of months of waiting

 

Yea, I could see them doing another Super Gem MD, perhaps one of the fairies if they are still doing those, a Little Gem, and then (knowing them), another Special Order Super Gem. :/

 

Well I received an email this morning that my Picro/Sammi purchase was an error. They put too many in the system. I know it's just a doll but I am pretty bummed by the news. Hopefully I was the only one this happened to.

Nooo! I'm so sorry to hear!! T_T That makes me SO sad. I was excited for you as well.. I'd be so heart broken in that situation. I hope the Teenie FCE happens soon since they should be next.

I finally have a name for my Bunny! I'm going to call her Cosette, after the character from Les Mis.

I've been looking through names all day and Cosette just clicked. Especially since Victor Hugo used the name because it's close to "chosette" which means "little thing". I think it will suit her perfectly, since she's a little bun.

 

@Chooper303, that is a perfect name for a little bunny girl! Adorable!! ^_^

I'm really hoping for another TG FCE soon! Or a new TG MD release that sweeps me off my feet! Although, at the same time, I'm also kinda not... because even though my hubby has said 'okay' to me buying another doll at some point in the near-ish future... the end of the school year is approaching and that means the end of my good paychecks. :/ Not to mention I really badly want hubby to find a new job, because the one he's currently at (where he's been for the last fourteen years) is starting to really become an issue. The people running it now (they're new and young and really stupid) are failing really hard and it's becoming more and more stressful for him. The place has become kinda poisonous and it's starting to get really bad.

Maybe with my birthday money!

@Kelaria it's horrible when the job atmosphere is toxic because you spend most of the time in there so I really hope your husband's situation gets better soon.
