Soom Teenie Gem and Monthly Doll Discussion part 11

I'm kinda hoping they'll add the other Lami/Trachy head so i'm waiting too. The surprise head is my favorite but I do want the other one too. I'll probably end up just getting NS because the bronze and grey are so expensive.

 

Unfortunately they only offer the fantasy heads/parts in FCE. And the surprised head is the fantasy head in the Trachy/Lami set.

 

It is more of which faceup the doll will get than a gender thing I guess. They faceups can differ quite a bit.

 

Dang, people were saying it was a possibility so I got my hopes up. Ah well, still gonna stalk it and see if any new options pop up, because i'm curious and this is my first FCE(that I payed attention to).

 

Very happy about soom's TG event I ended up ordering a grit/syen body for my extra Rru head with the open mouth :3 I wasn't really planning on it but thinking about how cute it would be to have a bat inspired doll was just too irresistible and the open mouth rru head was begging for it's own body by now anyways X) Really surprised about how expensive the EMS is though o-o I thought for sure it would be cheaper! When I ordered my Rru with the centaur body it was only 33$ and this time it's costing me 48$ x.x I don't even have any extras this time u.u I would have thought the centaur body's weight and unusual size would make it the more expensive shipment :/

Anyhow, looks like shonki/appini will be quite popular! I decided to split the extra head with a friend and she picked the shonki/appini sculpt as well

 

I wash looking into getting an Argil/Appini and shipping would be $55.70. For one doll! Considering I just ordered another, bigger doll from another company earlier today and shipping was only $31, this is insane.

 

;3; I was also surprised at the shipping cost. It is $55.70 for me as well. It is actually the same amount as the shipping for my human Serin which is a Little Gem and (combined with a few other things) weighs approximately 1000g more. My Shale Centaur I ordered in January also cost less to ship but in theory would weigh more. I have not yet ordered a TG directly from Soom so I can't accurately compare these prices to others. I wonder if someone who ordered from the original TGFC or has ordered a Teenie Gem recently can share what the shipping costs were for reference. It might be an error on their part.

 

Shipping and special resin color prices seem to be creeping up with each event. Soom has sited export taxes as why the EMS has increased. It jumped just a few days before I ordered my Skoll a month ago. Shipping for him without extras was $59.80 (at least adding the extras did not make it go up even more). Before the hike, it was going to be $42 or $43.

What I do not understand is why on the recent SO Hati and Skoll, grey skin was an extra $38, but for free choice it is $88.

 

The only time they use the OE/human head is if the "fantasy" head is a closed eye head (as in Appini/Shonki and Ario/Argil). Otherwise, they do only use the "fantasy" head.

JrockNacho and others, regarding the shipping costs, I asked Soom about this because the prices have changed. I went to order my grey Skoll and the shipping cost had gone up by about $20 overnight. I was really upset, so I asked Soom about it and they apologized and explained that the reason is due to EMS raising their rates (or tariffs or something like that), so they had no choice but to raise their own prices accordingly. It really does suck (especially considering I could have saved $20 in shipping if I had ordered my Skoll one day earlier), but I can't exactly be mad at Soom for that. :/

 

ouch that's a pretty sudden and steep increase though :/ I can't imagine how pricy it must be to order one of their SDs now x.x

 

Totally leaning towards a gray Taco even though the price is steep. Shipping is $55.70 for me, too. Brings me over 500 with a faceup!

 

I only ever really order Minis or SD sizes, so I guess I didn't think about the raised prices of shipping >,< Oh well, I'll just sort of act like I didn't ever read this conversation...

 

Leader of the Rats You should get people to ask for it because that is the probably the only way it will happen. I think that is what happened with mylo and teschen last time.

Shipping is cheaper with multiple dolls, If you know anyone that is ordering you can try to consolidate your orders, but yes Soom unfortunately said they were increasing the shipping when the mountain lion dolls were ordering. I got stuck with the more expensive shipping because I ordered late in the ordering window.

Leader of the Rats and Chrystika: Yeah, getting people to ask for the Lami head might help. I mean, they added grey skin because so many of us asked for it^^ I asked about the Lami head and grey skin a few days ago, and at the time they gave me the usual "no plans" response, but looks like their plans about grey skin changed pretty quickly
I have to admit that them adding the other Lami head would actually be kind of bad for me, because then I would HAVE to order more than one doll since I love both Lami heads^^"

About the prices: Yeah, it's a shame they increased the shipping fees so much. Also, like I said earlier, IMO the removing seam price for the FCE dolls is pretty steep. It's a lot more than it was for my Silky, and I don't see why:/ I think I might ask them about it just in case it's a mistake. It's kind of weird anyway...I mean, they usually don't add the removing seam option in the drop-down menu, you usually have to put it in your shopping cart separately.

 

Congrats Lil Spark! I have a long way to go still so lucky you to have your baby home already.

As much as I appreciate Soom for adding the grey skin I am still tossing up whether a violet skinned Amber would be better than NS so I'll have to watch the arrivals instead.

I'm totally safe from trachy/Lami because I normally do not like the open mouthed dolls. So unless they add the other head ...totally safe.

I agree with the pricing being high, a bronze Appini is 392.40 and a gray skin one is 418.50 Ouch!!! for not having two heads and human parts when the original Shonki wasn't that much at 388.00. Prices have went up but still......

Still unsure if I'm going to order during the FCE. I don't really have any space for new dollies, but it would be cool to get Lami on a Silt body in WS and Grit on an Ario body in grey. A hooved little demon and a winged harpy.

I'd be even more tempted if they'd given a choice of human heads for Taco/Dolomi and Trachy/Lami, it's probably lucky they didn't!

I love Soom so much, but I hate the way they make me want everything they have.... If I was rich, it wouldn't be a problem, but I'm so very not rich... >.>

I love that Soom listened and added grey skin but damn, it's really crazy expensive... I still want a grey Keny and Taco though... I can't order before the last day because I will soon have to pay lots of custom fees for my Pukifees but I will order

 

My little Snow hopes to see more Appini's and Shonki's around at the end of this FCS! I'm considering a kitty sister or brother for her, myself ^_^ However, I really like her on the LTF body so I'm still tossing up on whether I really want a full Soom Appini at the moment >.<'!

Snow is sooo cute! Lovely faceup and I also really like the combination TG+LTF body. Argh your girl has sparked my Appini/Shonki lust again, it just never ends! But I'm almost 100% certain that I will order a bronze Grit in the last days of the ordering period. The little gargoyles have stolen my heart, their paws and wings just are so cute.
