In this pic he has his new face-up.
I'd like to get him neon-colored clothes but it's so hard to find modern-styled clothes for dolls of this size. Most clothes are frilly or too baby-like.

I forgot to mention in my post earlier this morning, but today is the 3rd anniversary of the day Leira joined my BJD family!

I bought her head here on the DoA marketplace and she arrived on July 26th, 2011!

For the time being, she borrows Wren (my Yrie)'s body for photoshoots and has Laurel (my R. Beyla)'s old 5stardoll body as a temporary body otherwise. Hopefully I'll be able to get her a Soom body of her own soonish!

I actually thought it had been only two years, but when I checked my records, she came home in 2011, not 2012! I can't believe it's been three years already! I just adore her and I feel so lucky that she's mine!

It's amazing how fast time goes sometimes ^^ I look at how long I've had certain dolls of mine and I have to have a double take! I also am amazed how far this thread has gone. 11?!?!? wow! I'll be ordering Silky 12th Aug ^^ Payday ^^ Started picking wigs already and was photoshopping eyes last night xD Decision on eye colour I am having difficulty with though lol

 

I am, but not for a couple of weeks. I need to pay something else off first.

 

Ordering late however has me a bit concerned. Has Soom ever closed an order period early...?

And because Picro is getting so much love (I know they are blue and awesome lol) I thought I could throw some sammi into the mix ^^

Right now, I'm 99% sure I'll order one of them...but I'll wait till the end of the ordering period, I think. Just in case Soom comes up with another amazing doll by then, because in that case I would have to pick one or the other.
The Luts Jamong Pegasus is also still bugging me, I really would have liked to order her. But what Artemos said in the previous thread is true: Soom probably won't release another tiny scorpion, but Luts will definitely release another centaur (or maybe even Pegasus). I just wish it wasn't Jamong...I really wanted a Jamong with droopy elf ears, even before the Pegasus was released, so it's kind of stupid I'm not going to order her now:/ Then again, I would have preferred a boy, anyway...

Well, anyway, I'm having a really hard time choosing between Yarn and Silky^^" I love Silky's skin color, and IMO the blushing looks better on her....but the face-up looks better on Yarn to me for some reason. And they're both so cute I also don't have either of these skin colors yet, so both are equally tempting. This is gonna be hardT_T

Btw, I'm trying to find wigs for my incoming TG(s), and there are a few Licht wigs I really like. But I've never ordered from them before, and since I heard their wigs tend to be rather small, I'm not sure what size to pick. Does anyone have Licht wigs on their TGs and can tell me which size would be best?

As for closing the order period early... I have never heard of them doing this and I'm pretty sure they never have. It's still a disclaimer they put up on their site, but I doubt you should have to worry about it. ^_^

Hi I hope it's alright if I ask you guys a question. I was wondering if any one has tried to match luts light tan with a bronze soom doll? I want to make a bronze teenie gem lion and was thinking of using the light tan lion ears and tail from a Zuzu Delf Lio. I was wondering if anyone owned both skin colors and would mind taking a comparison pic. Thank you for your help. It would be greatly appreciated

 

I was having a hard time with the colours, sculpt looks so cute in both colours! in a perfect world I'd buy both lol But as it's not a perfect world, thing that made me go for purple is that the FC events usually offer a tan/bronze colour and I know I'll get a FC event doll in the future if they still offer them lol.

I apologize for such a dreadfully late reply! The internet here has been acting up. Here are some shots of Little Loki, a human Ai, in Vampbee pants. He's a very recent addition, and my YOs are rather lacking of clothes, plus we were on the road as he was acquired from a meetup, so please excuse the shirtlessness.

They come to his ankles, and are a nigh-perfect fit. A little baggy, but not 'over-sized' by any means. I tried to get some shots last night, but the lighting was terrible. I'll try to get some taken soon!

Yurikun, I don't know much about Luts Light tan (having only seen one at a meetup), but I think Soom bronze might be darker/redder in tone. You could probably blush the ears & tail to match though! I'd also be interested in a comparison if anyone has any either of these colours?

Dark_Shiva144, I have a couple of licht wigs in their 6-6.5 inch size and they fit my Teenies just fine! :3 They are a bit full/poofy though, which I don't mind so much, but if they slip down over my dolls eyes it sometimes looks like a cotton-candy monster is eating my dolls head~ XD

Loki's new pants are fabulous Loptr! He looks like a little rock-star! And poses like one too! (I love that last pic, brilliant expression! ;D)

@Kelaria her wig is from Leekeworld! It's LR-093_D in beige, which is such a pretty colour IRL! It's not quite a bright millk-white, but it's not silver or greyish either.

 

Oh! I recently joined a group order and will be getting a beige wig from LeekeWorld in a split for my incoming Lilid! I'm excited to see another owner photo of it! :3 I definitely think the color will be perfect for my Lilid! ^_^

 

*sneaks in* I just saw the new sand elves and I'm totally smitten with Silky. I've wanted a scorpion doll ever since they released the first one so I'm gonna save like crazy these next few weeks and hopefully get mine on the 15th. Do you guys think it would be weird if I made Silky a boy though?

 

Pen-Pen, the way Soom has them dressed, they both look like boys. You could definitely make them either boys or girls. They are genderless

 

No, I am super biased (with my dolls), and if I were to get a doll, I would get a Silky, and he would be a boy for sure. In doll world, gender is much more flexible, which is just another reason I adore all my boys. The overall price is normal, but I guess I'm a little thrown off by a teenie because most of my collection is LG, I may still invest in one at some point though! Probably not these two, though their faces are really unique, and their color choices are so perfect.

 

DuskBlue- That's kind of what I thought but then people were calling Silky she so I wasn't sure if I was just missing something not stated somewhere or not. ^^; I've never looked into getting anything from Soom before.

Artemos- I'm really kinda the same way, I absolutely love Silky's color and didn't even think of getting yarn.

 

With Teenie Gem MD's around my doll plans sure get screwed up xD

And seriously don't worry about the gender. After all, all Teenies that come in pairs (the only solo TG that I can think of is Smokey) are the same head sculpt. And mostly every pair that comes in different colours have the genderless body (or the hermafrodite body in case of Afi/Ai MDs). So it all depends on the face-up and clothes.

Like I have two Bygg girls. One of them just happens to be the normal skin Bygg SO version, meaning that it has the boy bits and everything, and the grey one has the genderless body. They are still both styled and thought of as girls. I've seen I think as many girl grey-Byggs as I have boy grey-Byggs. And I think you won't be the only one who'd treat Silky as a boy.

Pen-Pen: I'm actually considering making my Silky/Yarn (still haven't decided yet, but it's probably gonna be Silky^^) a boy as well. Both of them look like girls to me in the promo pics, though Yarn could be a boy in some of them. But since I'll probably order the company face-up for both heads, I'm not sure if making Silky a boy will work with that face-up...we'll see^^ Right now, my plan is to get Silky with an additional body, so I can make one a girl and one a boy

 

I was thinking about making Yarn a boy as well. I'd rather wait for FCE to get a grey or white girl with this head sculpt.

 

I'd like to get a Silky human, do you think anyone would be interested in the violet fantasy parts mainly the tail? Has Soom put out a Violet doll before? I can't think of any right off the top of my head.

 

Vesuvia was violet. Wave and Soda were violet. Cheshire was violet. There's another violet Super Gem boy that I can't remember...
Sadly I like the fantasy head and horns, but do not like that tail at all.

 

I went and looked at wave and soda the resin in the promo pics, looks a little lighter. I'm not sure it's actually lighter there's no way to tell. It could just be the lighting or blushing That's one thing I don't like about this hobby, no way to look at things before you buy.

 

Does Cheshire look the same? If so I have a few pictures of some of his parts on my phone

Shara- I've fallen really really hard for Silky. This is gonna happen even if I have to do my first layaway. The crazy thing is, I'll have all the money on September 1st, so if I have to do a layaway I'll just pay it all off then. :3

Dark_Shiva144- you know, I think that's what's throwing me off, that the face up looks very girlish on Silky. I would love to get a face up but I know I would be disappointed if he looked too much like a girl so I think I'll just go completely blank. Better for my wallet anyway. XD

 

The Light Violet tends to grey out after a couple of years, fyi. My Wave was greying when I got her secondhand. There may not be a good resin match with older violet dolls.

 

It does? What does your Wave look like now? Is she a pretty grey?
Seems like there really isn't any resin color that won't change over time:/ Speaking of which...I've heard of some tan Soomlings turning greenish after a while. Is that true? Or does it only happen if you leave them out in the sun for a long time?

 

My Carmel tan Afi is still the same beautiful tan she was when I bought her, at least I haven't seen a change. I'm not sure how old she is but she is the original version not the fce bronze one.

 

To me it looks washed out rather than a nice grey like the grey resin is. I ended up airbrushing her an indigo colour to cover it over. It disinclines me toward getting another violet doll if they all end up like this. I don't know what conditions her previous owner was keeping her in, though. That normally factors into resin colour changes.

 

My Violet still looks nice and purple

 

My wave is still the same violet color. She is definitely NOT gray. Though I do not keep my dolls in any kind of sunlight.
