Can i please ask what yellow eyes those are? I find it really hard to get a good pair of yellow eyes like those ones

 

The red is reasonably stable. I bought a body during a body sale in 2012, and swapped out the arms/torso so he has the newer elbows.
You can see a slight difference to the older red. It's a touch lighter. But that could just be the difference in the resin batches.

 

He looks great, AirimirOfGondor! I love his face-up and blushing! Especially the horns! :3

I have a package from Korea at the post office! I wonder if it's from Soom! They said they were sending me a pair of the new basic hands since I didn't get them with my Lilid! I didn't expect them to get here so fast though! ^_^

 

That picture is great!! Wow you have a lot of ponies! Are there repeats there or is that all the pony bodies soom has done? I know soom didn't do a Afi pony, so you have changed a few heads. How many ponies has soom offered?

 

I haven't actually talked to anyone that had the original tan Afi with a bronze? body Do they match pretty well or did you have to blush them to match? I have a original tan Afi and have always wondered about the color match. I guess I'm going to find out soon because I'm probably ordering a bronze doll in the FCE.

That sounds like it was hard to get all those body tops and heads. So you are going to do a blue pico pony? That will be interesting.

Leader of the Rats: Just opened my Rru, and...I'm not 100% sure since it's evening and the light in my room sucks, but I'm pretty sure my ML head has the same defect as yours His right eye looks a bit smaller to me. But like I said, the light here isn't very good, and Soom's face-up also makes it a bit harder to tell because of the glued-in eyelashes. Also, looking at yours just might have made me paranoidXD Anyway, I'll take another look at him tomorrow in daylight and if I still feel his eyes look off, I'll post a pic here.
Have you contacted Soom about your ML head already? If not, then you should do it soon since I believe their policy is that you need to report any issues right after receiving the doll. Dunno how strict they are about it, though.

I really like what you have done with Wachiwi & Kaisitsi. Did you dye or just blush the yellow? I always think the white bodies have more potential for pretty paint jobs.


Hmm on the mountain lion head. I ordered one of those dolls but it's probably not being made yet. I split off the ML head though, maybe I should bring it up with my split partner. I looked at the Soom promo pics for the mountain lion head and Soom never has the ml head looking directly at the camera, but the last picture at the very bottom of the page, the left eye looks smaller than the right eye.

It's so ridiculously exciting getting a box from Soom, even when I know there's just a pair of hands inside! I saw that Soom logo on the side of the box when I picked it up from the post office and just felt sooo excited!

Anyway, Soom is so awesome and I love them so much! I asked about the 'hug me' hands that my Lilid came with, and told them how much I had been looking forward to seeing the 'new basic' hands in person for the first time, and they sent me a pair of the 'new basic' hands free of charge! :3 They got here so quick and are so cute!

Her new eyes have been shipped and hopefully will be here next week! ^_^

I'm so glad I decided to change her look and scrap the cat theme (even though I adore cats). It just wasn't working for her. She wants to be just a little human girl, and I feel so much more in love with her now that she is!

 

I'm kind of disappointed that the ML doesn't come with two pairs of hands. It looks like she does in the ad page.



I was looking at soom's gray Amber page, I think there is going to be a lot of unhappy people if they don't offer her as a special doll or something.

 

The FCE order pages are up, and they added the grey skin option.

Edit: o_o I also think the prices in the drop-down menu for the Bronze Skin sales page are severely off. If you select the Keny/Silt head for example, it adds $132 which is like waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy too much.

 

Noooooo! Just when I had convinced myself I was safe from this FC and all "Yeah... Nah I'll pass~" They go and add Grey Skin! Now I'm thinking of all the possibilities! XD

 

Originally I wanted a grey appini to turn into a grey tabby, but I think I will be getting a normal skin one.
I wish I could visualize how a bronze appini would look like, (or know how to photoshop), but either way I know appini will be cute.

 

I was so looking forwards the TG FCE and now im kind of bummed... doesn't the prices be a little too high? For the FCE you have to pay more for a CW Appini just with fantasy parts, while on the MD page you had the human doll + fantasy parts for less.... o.OI don't know, I'm not that much into the FCE, is this normal?

 

Pandakeks, yes, it is normal for FCE's to be the same/a bit higher than the original releases price. From what I can tell the previous TGFCE from 2012 had basically the same pricing (except in regards to this years Bronze Skin prices which seem very wonky at the moment). I imagine the constant price despite the human pieces is in part because of the choice aspect; being able to get a custom doll that most likely will never be offered in that way ever again. Plus, even though some sculpts have been known to be re-released as special order dolls later on, they have almost never since included their original fantasy parts in such re-releases (the only time being the recent Hati/Skoll Chess Piece release if I remember correctly, and even then they are still missing the claw/shield from the original), so if you missed out on the original MD release most likely the only way you will ever be able to get those fantasy parts again (from Soom directly) is through the FCE. The human versions you can sometimes have numerous chances to get later so they are much less valuable in the scheme of things.
It is also not unusual business practice to raise the price of a re-released item to -in a way- limit the number that will exist to keep future re-demand higher, longer, and also to maximize profits for the ones that do sell at that time. The tactic is definitely frustrating as a consumer, but intelligent as a business strategy.

^w^ Anyway, on another note, I tried my hand Photoshopping Appini in the Bronze color for anyone who might be curious! Keep in mind i'm not a pro at this and it isn't perfect, but hopefully it gives an idea at least. I tried to match it similarly to that of Sand Elves Yarn as -if i'm not mistaken- it is the most recent Bronze skinned doll they've released as of right now.

But in all seriousness, I do so hope you can get one! Ahhh I do wish that Bronze wasn't so expensive. Apparently it'll be $85 dollars more just to have an Appini in bronze as opposed to Cream White. It looks like they've fixed the Silt/Keny head option being $132, but all the head options for Bronze are all $20+ extra for some reason. I do hope that is a mistake.

And it certainly is frustrating~ I almost didn't think i'd be able to get the funds together but luckily it came through. I've been waiting for this event for years and I would have been devastated to miss out!

I'm still torn between Appini and Lami, and considering the pricing, I don't really feel like buying bothT_T I'll wait a few more days to make my decision though, at least until Soom finally releases the September MD. I'm worried they might be doing another Little Mermaid-related doll, and if they did I might be in trouble^^"

Well, for now I'll be taking another look at my Rru's ML head. I'm still hoping I just imagined the eyes looking weird yesterday.


Edit: You know, what I really don't get about the FCE pricing is the Removing Seam option. For this event, it seems to be $70/€56...for Yarn and Silky it was $50/€36.20. Seems like a real jump in price to meOo

 

Omg gray!! I think I'm deciding that my color scheme will work with gray. Only problem is that now I can't order grit/ grit... Decisions!!!

 

So glad Soom added grey skin for all you GS fans! As much as I'd love a grey Shonki (and also a Bronze Shonki, and a NS Shonki and a CW Shonki...) or a Bronze Keny, I'm gonna be sitting this FCE out, unfortunately. I just have too many Soom layaways going on at the moment!

 

Omg grey skin!! Uuhhh I can't get Grit out of my head, I've been dreaming of him for the last few days but unfortunately I can't get him in grey skin. But a bronze one would be very cute,too...Oh man this is all so tempting. A grey Taco would be very sweet or a grey Appini on the Taco body.

 

Can anyone do a photo shop of a Grey Appini or a bronze Taco? Pretty please???

 

Reminder to everyone, you can technically get any original doll you want, however you need to either order two dolls, or enter a split! $365 seems about right for me on Lami, with faceup of course, so I'm happy because that's maybe 20 dollars extra? Which I can certainly live with! Haylie said she is really gonna try to ask them not to do that perfectly confusing choice of yellow eyeshadow on WS Lami, but I told her not worry of course, Soomer till death anyways, so sad but true...

I hope that everyone who wanted grey skin orders something so we get to see a bunch more GS Teenies in here as well, not to mention bronze, because bronze Grit is really looking cool in my head.

 

I would suggest waiting a couple of days to order anything. They always seem to have at least one pricing issue that needs resolving with these things.

They also need to add a way to pick if the doll is a boy or girl. They forgot about this in the last FCE as well, but added the option a few days later.

Grey does make the event tempting... but I really cannot do it with my Skoll on layaway. And I am okay with that as imo grey Skoll is better for me than the current options. Though if I were to get one I would get a CW Pyrol/Ario and then give him my Beyla hooves... or a grey Taco.

 

I wish I could afford to order my bronze Silt/Appini. And I wish I could afford to get a CW Argil (split, of course, since Argil originally came in CW). And I'd love to get a grey kitty doll too! I dunno which head sculpt I'd get, but I'd figure it out! I've never been a huge fan of the Appini/Shonki head sculpt, but it's actually growing on me a bit. I do prefer OE heads over R. heads generally... and, while I like the surprised Lami head, I think the open mouth thing would wear on me after a while.

I really wish Soom had waited longer to do this FCE. They seem to be releasing a LOT of dolls lately and doing events closer together...

I'm kinda bummed that they're including Ario/Argil in this FCE actually. I very nearly scraped money together when they were initially released to get an Argil, but couldn't afford to. Now I'm missing out on my second chance to get one! >.< It's Hati/Skoll all over again! :P I'm just glad that I finally got a Hati/Skoll! :3

 

I'm so torn over a gray taco or a bronze grit. whyyy Decisions.....

 

Welp this is my first teenie gem FCE and admittedly they have tons of sculpts I've always wanted!

Here's my order list;

Cream white: Lami head // Dolomi Body

Gray: Dolomi head // Syen Body

Bronze: Appini head // Appini Body


Before I actually make this order, since Appini never came in bronze, I can choose an appini head & appini body in bronze to make a full appini right? Just want to make sure!


Duskblue; I haven't been too terribly active on the forum lately but I wanted to say I've seen the pics of your new teenie gem Sov and she's just super super cute. I absolutely love ALL your teenie gems. And thank you for the comment on my 9Spirit Momo You are such a sweetheart, I've missed you to be honest XD Oh and whichever way you decide between taco or grit, they will be totally awesome so I think you'll be happy either way!

 

Shawnee: Yes, you can order a complete Appini in NS, Bronze or Grey, since she didn't come in those colors originally. Also, if you wanted to get a CW one, you could order two dolls and swap bodies later. For example, ordering a CW Appini/Silt and CW Silt/Appini would be possible

I'm fairly sure Appini and Taco are genderless. The sculpt name only applies to the color... Appini is white, Shonki is black, Taco is ice blue, Dolomi is white. I have no idea if this is the case for all dolls this FCE, or just those two, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are all genderless.

 

Duskblue, I know the feeling, I've always wanted Taco/Dolomi, but over time Lami just mesmerized me, and now I have to have one. It was a hard decision at first, but then, I have a Koori now too which helped me forget about the Taco/Dolomi which basically would have been replacements to help deal with no MSD version, however I have no demons except Goss who isn't fooling anyone lol. I hope you are happy once you decide and I hope that maybe you would consider both? Lol, I know I'm evil, but it's generally what I would do if I had to have something...

Artemos, I'm not allowed to buy two dolls. I already promised myself that if they came out with gray I wouldn't get two. And then I have my friend keeping me honest x.x After this doll, I'll have FIVE Teenie Gems, so I really don't need six... immediately ^^;. I hope you can get the one that makes you the most happy!!

does anyone please have a comparison photo of the new mountain lions Rru & lilid with 14 and 12 mm eyes? i think 14 feels too big but all my others take 14 and are fine. can anyone please help? im moving house and all my dolls are packed so I can't even try out some spares!

Crimson, I just ordered 12mm CiG eyes for my human Lilid. The Soom 14mms were okay, but CiG 14mm were too big. I imagine that for the ML head, 12mm will be perfect. I'm hoping the 12mms I ordered for Eleya will be perfect too!

Here's an example of Eleya with a 14mm CiG eye (the amber one) and I believe the other is a 12 or 13mm acrylic from Custom House (I really doubt they're 14mm, because the size difference is so extreme):



All my other Soomlings (and my CH girls too) have 14mm eyes except for Laurel (my R. Beyla who has 12mm), so buying 12mm for Eleya was a bit nerve-wracking! I hope they work out well. I should see them next week (hopefully) and can let you know how they work out.

In any case, I think that 12mm for sleepy-eyed/romantic heads seems to work really well. It might be worth a try. Soom did offer 12mm as an option for these guys, and I think it's because their heads and eye holes are a bit smaller than other TGs.

 

I wasn't online for a few days because I just got my Baby a few days ago but now that I am back from the Hhspital I am so glad to see they added grey skin, especially since the answer they gave me on the Q&A said they have no plans to do so^^ I will have to order grey Keny and Taco now

I wasn't sure if I wanted to join this FC event as none of the sculpt names sparked my memory except Grit because I own one lol, But now that I'm looking I really like the Taco or Ario heads and their bodies, possible in bronze skin as I have no dolls of the color. Looks like Ario was originally released in bronze so I would either have to order both and swap heads or join a split if I can decide on one.

I'm not sure if I will order tho as I have a layaway with Soom all ready and one with Luts :/ why do they have to release so much so fast Well it looks like I have till the 28th to decide what to do.

TwT Annnnd I decided to also try my hand at Photoshopping Appini in Grey Skin as well for the people who wanted a better idea of what it might look like too. Again, not a pro, but hopefully it gives an idea at least. xD I also realized I totally forgot to color the shoulder in the Bronze one too, whoops.
I tried to match it to Death Knight Shale's color, again, as it is a recent release.

 

Does anyone own a Taco/Dolomi or Ario/Argill they could spam for me so I can see owner pictures? I don't know if there were many of them ordered

 

On the plus side, it looks like Bronze Appini is going to be one of the more popular dolls ordered this time. Makes the potential for a second-hand doll a lot better! Bronze Silt might be a bit trickier (although, of course, you'd have the option of original Bronze Silts as well..). Perhaps you could wrangle together enough to join a split for just a Bronze Silt head?

More like the cat was nesting in the window and was so sleepy that she didn't move when I put the doll there!
