Soom Teenie Gem and Monthly Doll Discussion part 11

I doubt they will do black skin no matter who asks, but they have added things in the past due to customer want, so other things that are less complicated like adding a different head, or like grey or something has a possibility of happening since we have precedence for it.

I've been trying to talk myself out of a Lami in WS all day now...ugh, no, I don't want you! At first I've always liked their surprise face, but knew that I couldn't handle it all the time, then I just realized I can get an outfit with an elastic mouth cover to change his expression from time to time...now I'm stuck in this predicament...Soom, I hate you for doing this to me always! (Except, I really don't)

 

I just asked Soom to add gray skin. I would be happy with bronze, but gray is the color I want the most . I hope they decide to add it.

 

Luckily none of the heads are what I want, since otherwise I would so get a bronze doll from this event. Besides the Lami body, Ario body is also practically human, with add-on wings and the tail. But yeah, since no 2009 heads, I'm safe But I'm fine, I have the Skoll incoming and that's all the dolls I really am allowed to ge this year anyway.

 

Looks like I got the generic "no" answer on the Gray Skin for the FCE:

We do not have any plan for a grey skin at the moment.

However, I will transfer the idea to the development team and they may consider the idea in the future.

Same in regards to Aloa/Sov, it's good for me, because Lami is really killing me, and I see myself easily caving soon. We should probably wait a little while before we decide to order, in case they do add things like they do occasionally after saying no lol.

 

omg you are right, Artemos... that would be the worst x.x (well, not the worst because I will still love my bronze doll!)

 

Aw too bad about the grey skin but maybe they will do another FC event (including grey skin) sooner than in two years because of the demand. I am desperately trying to talk myself out of a bronze Appini or Grit. Maaaaybe I can swing one doll on layaway but I just can't decide between a bronze Appini on the Grit body and a bronze Appini on a Taco body! I really prefer the legs of the Grit body but I don't like that it doesn't have human hands. Then again the Taco body has human hands but the legs are less cute. Argh this is so difficult lol. How do you guys decide?

 

If enough people ask for grey they probably will add it. It has happened before

 

I think I would choose the Grit body because IMO the Grit legs would go well with the cat ears. As for the hands...well, I like the Grit hands, but if you don't, maybe you could sell/split/swap them?^^"

Anyway, TBH I'm also having a hard time deciding. There are just too many dolls in this event that I really wantT_T I love the faces of Taco/Dolomi, Appini/Shonki and Keny/Silt. I'm almost glad they don't offer Trachy/Lami's normal headXD
I think I'll try to decide which head is most important to me first, and then I'll start worrying about the body and skin color^^" Speaking of which, I was also hoping for some fantasy colors, especially since the Faery Legend FCE had light green as an option. I know Faery Legend dolls have more fantasy colors in general, but I was still hoping they might also offer some for this FCE. I would have loved grey or snow blue, for example.

 

Darnit. I knew this was coming and am still unprepared. I've been waiting for a Shonki/Appi re-release... But now I'm saving for something else and I can't just blow my monies!

 

Dark_Shiva144: Taco's feet are almost the same as Grit and he has human hands.

I am most likely getting a Grit/Taco simply because I prefer human hands. What sucks is that I miss out on wings. The problem is that the only dolls made in bronze (correct me if I'm wrong) are FCE ones and it's a nearly unmatchable color. The chance of me finding human hands to match the bronze is pretty slim (I've already looked).

If they DO release gray skin, I will HAVE to get Taco. He has such a sweet face, only I can't envision him in my bronze color scheme. So I guess I'm going to wait. It's either Grit/Taco, or Taco/Taco.

Like Ellesmera says, if you do want grey/gray at all, please post on their Q&A board asking for it! I also think that if enough people ask, they may offer it!

 

I asked a question regarding the Trachy/Lami head (if they are also offering the regular head), but I think it got misunderstood. They corrected the description from 'romantic' to 'surprised' head though.

 

Yeah, they fixed it, that one is the fantasy head so I figured they just messed up. I realized they probably just have so many lines of production going right now with all the latest releases in so many different skin colors, I think maybe they don't want more on their plate with Dia coming in Tawny, Yarn and Silky, the 3 chess dolls available, and Serin and Rico going too...>,< that's a lot on their plate not including some of the special releases that haven't shipped...it's really crazy to think about.

I'm gonna give up on Aloa and Sov, maybe in two years I'll have an interest in buying them again. Lami though...probably coming home at this point...

 

Yarn and Silky came in bronze, several other dolls have come in bronze.

I asked them about Lami's normal head, too. Maybe if enough people ask them (and they understand the questionXD), they'll add the option just like they did with Teschen^^ I also asked them to add grey or snow blue, though I don't think they will.
Damn, I'm still so torn. I definitely don't want to spend too much, so I'm trying to make up my mind and get just one doll from this event...but with so many cute sculpts, this is so hardT_T

 

duskblue you could always put a wtb up now and wait on ordering till the last week. I have had pretty good luck with wtb threads. I guess the ordering period is the tenth to the twenty eighth, so you have 18 days to order.


Soom will clarify the individual heads for sale, when they put up the pictures, when they actually put the FCE page up. The MSD one had pictures anyway.

 

That's a great idea, chrystika. I really want the grit wings, so I think I'm willing to take a small risk on possibly not getting human hands. Definitely going to put up the WTB thread! Thanks!

 

Someone already has a FCE split page up, I imagine that there will be a ton of those going up on or after the tenth. lol

I'm kinda of bummed about the no grey skin yet, a grey Appini would be pretty cute, though a bronze one will be probably pretty great too.

 

You are right about the bronze skin being a pain to match, duskblue.
Bronze skin varies so much! A friend and I both ordered bronze dolls in the last FCE (separate orders), and we both got extra hands as well. Our dolls do not match even remotely (mine is a very pale bronze and hers is a darker redder bronze), and the hands we got do not even match the dolls we ordered them with!

 

How frustrating, Tonboko!!! I wish Soom were more consistent with their resin.

Well, I've decided to for sure order a Bronze Grit/Grit. I did put up a WTB thread for bronze hands, and if they don't match perfectly, I will blush them to match. If I don't end up getting the hands, I will live with the paws. I REALLY wanted the bat wings. *-* I also ordered his clothes, wig, and eyes. He's going to have a black/red color scheme. *-*

Oh, and my friend, rasilverstorm, is keeping me accountable so that I don't order a gray Taco/Taco if they release gray skin. I will only order ONE DOLL.

I wish I could draw as well as you can duskblue. That's a nice looking boy. I don't normally plan who my dolls are, they always disagree when I get them.

Does anyone have the FCE page from last time? I kind of want to see how much the prices will be... I know bronze is usually 60.00 more than the white skin.

That's really unfortunate!

I have been very lucky it seems. I have a bronze hati that i ordered extra hands with, and then I also got that tawny colored Hansel,
which -should- be a different color, but they are actually SO close that I've swapped some of their hand pieces around.

Same thing happened with my Bronze Chrom and Tawny Phonolus, they're different, and it's noticeable, but it's still incredibly close.


On a side note for color matching hands, I have heard that angel studio will color match if you send them a part. So it -might- be possible
to get some color matched human hands from there,.. maybe ?

 

Thanks, rytearik. Only Angell Studio yosd hands are sort of simplistic in their styling, and I much prefer Soom hands. If worst comes to worst, he will have his paw hands till I find them

 

Today was the first anniversary of the day Luna came home! I can't believe it's already been a year! She was my first grey doll and I'm currently paying off my second (grey Skoll) who will be her cousin! ^_^

She was just a head when she arrived, but I got her a body fairly quick (in March of 2014).

I just love the grey of the original Byggs! I'm really glad I was able to bring Luna home to be part of my doll family! :3 I can't wait to welcome her cousin!

Too bad soom won't cast in some of their more colorful colors. I wonder what a brick red Appini or a violet Beyla would look like? You could really go for the rainbow look unicorn with a purple Beyla.

Thank you for the input Dark_Shiva144, it is really hard to decide between all those options. I did some more thinking and decided that I can't let myself be carried away with my current Soom tiny obsession so I probably won't take part in this event. After all I already have a Glati on layaway and I'm really excited for him! The Appini/Shonki just really caught my attention because it is such a rare sculpt and I love rare sculpts. But now I've really fallen for the Syen/Grit sculpt and was dreaming of one in bronze skin but if I'm really honest to myself I would really prefer him in grey - So even if they offered grey later one I couldn't get one anyway.
So long story short - I am looking forward to all the bronze tinies in this thread and am excited for my Glati!

 

I am coming around to the thought of a Bronze Appini kitty. I had my heart set on grey but she would make a cute orange tabby cat too. I think I'll hold out for a bit and see if it is added however.

I also love Grit's body. Those little wings and paws are so cute. Hmm decisions, decisions..

I have a full set of shonki paws so I could get a Appini to wear them, the question is what would look good. I wanted a tuxedo cat but I can't do that without a black body. Maybe a bronze and black kitty or a black and white one? Or should I just buy a bronze kitty and get a white human to make my black and white kitty. I'm not sure, but I guess I have 20 days or so to figure it out.

 

Hmm I think I want the Lami surprise on a Ario/Argil body for the wings. I'm tempted to get him in bronze but at the same time I want the wings and tail to be white, because they're for another doll, but I don't want a white doll. I might have to ask them about it if I decide to go that route.

Unless they decide to add a centaur body. I would love them forever.

I've never really felt like Shonki/Appini faces looked that much like kittens... the chubby cheeks remind me more of bunnies or hamsters.

duskblue have you thought about blushing your feny? I have a WS feny and am thinking about blushing her but not sure on the colors yet but I know I don't want to do anything like what soom did for the ws feny.

 

I have thought about blushing him, but I'm afraid I'm going to screw it up. x.x. I had a plan on colors and how I was going to do it, but seriously afraid it'll be crappy. lol.

 

Really I see a lot of little hybrids in the next few months, that is what is so great about the fce events, lots of choices.

You could always do a split for white wings and then sell the bronze ones with your doll.

I am sorely tempted to get a Grit/Argil. I love the Argil body and I've always sorta wanted one, and Grit is so cute... Aaaaand I could make her be a chibi-version of my Loonsoul TanYue. Grit's slitted eyes and fangs are just about perfect. And with Argil's wings, then if she stole my Yrie's bird feet...

Oh Chrystika I meant I did want the whole doll! I just wanted white wings for a separate doll i'm planning. Technically grey would be best but since they're not doing grey then white is the next best thing. Hmm maybe i'll wait and see if they cave in on the grey, I would love to have a grey doll...

 

More people request, and I'll add my voice on the grey skin too when I message them! Go go go! I'm not gonna get Aloa or Sov, but you guys could probably get gray for sure! Anyways, I am getting Lami! I decided, but I am gonna wait until later in the period because I'm so busy this month. I guess I'm gonna wing it and get the faceup too, though I'm not certain how that's gonna be on the WS...I'm probably gonna at least beg them to not put the yellow eye shadow since that makes little sense on the pink skin, and even less on the white...

I am so excited to order this completely unexpected edition, but on my final doll list (which I am truly sticking too, because the gods know how many dolls I have/want, and the math is just not fair)...well, let's just say Soom had some blank spaces for "just in case" scenarios, and I guess Lami will be one of them, didn't even know he had grown on me at much over this time.

 

I'd love to get a bronze Trachy, Grit and Appini. But I doubt I'll be able to get even one of them.

If I did get both, I think I would maybe get an Appini/Silt and a Lami/Appini in CW and swap the bodies afterwards. Though the idea of a bronze or grey Lami also sounds great:3 All I know for sure is that if I get Appini, I want her in CW and with her own body. For Lami, I keep changing my mind but right now the Silt body seems the most appealing

 

Dark_Shiva144, if I didn't want the devil tail so bad, Keny/Silt was an easy second choice for those little hooves, because who doesn't love a little hoofy demon? I am hoping I find some second hand in the new WS after this event and then I don't have to worry about the tail magnet. I already posted about gray skin, and about the faceup, so here is crossing my fingers for you guys. Imagine if they added light violet or something...I'd die of indecision!

 

Yeah, getting faceups for the FCE is kind of a gamble since we don't know exactly what it'll look like on the skin color we choose. I'm still debating about it...
